Abstract Native and non-native bees are important pollinators of both food and ornamental crops. However, bee populations across the world have declined, mainly through loss of habitat. Careful selection of landscape plants in urban areas can help mitigate habitat loss and create new habitat for pollinators. Ten mature genotypes of Vitex, comprising V. agnus-castus L., V. negundo L., and a hybrid between V. agnus-castus x V. rotundifolia L. f., were evaluated during June and July 2016 to assess their attractiveness to pollinators. Abstract With container-grown trees offered to the public in an increasing array of sizes, it is important to determine the effects of different sizes of container stock on transplant establishment. Clonal replicates of Vitex agnus-castus, Acer rubrum var. drummondii, and Taxodium distichum grown under common nursery conditions in five container sizes, 3.5, 11.7, 23.3, 97.8, or 175.0 L (#1, #3, #7, #25, or #45, respectively), were transplanted to a sandy clay loam field. Physiological stress was measured using xylem water potential and photosynthetic gas exchange rates. Height, trunk diameter,

ABSTRACT: The study was conducted from the beginning of April 2022 to the end of December 2022 in Kirkuk governorate, Al-Huweija district. The study examined the alcoholic extracts efficacy of Vitex agnus-castus and Populus euphratica in controlling the hard tick Hyalomma anatolicum using the dipping method. All treated larvae died within 48 hours of treatment. The alcoholic extract of P. euphratica was more effective in killing tick nymphs at a 90 mg mL-1 concentration during the nymphal stage. The mortality rate was 100%. The lowest mortality rate was 67.7% at a concentration of 30 mg mL-1 a

In this study, we performed a genetic diversity analysis using RAPD markers for some Vitex agnus-castus populations grown in Aydin, Turkey. Total genomic DNA isolation from the leaves of Vitex agnus-castus was performed using a commercial kit. Seven RAPD primers (OPA-02, OPA-05, OPA-13, OPA-15, OPA-16, OPA-18, OPA-20) were used to determine genetic diversity among populations. Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) was performed with all genomic DNA samples and primers. PCR products were run in agarose gel electrophoresis and visualized under UV light. The amplified products were scored as bands (1)
