Full textWhen manufacturing products for medicinal use it is essential to reduce the level of cross-contamination. By carrying out a cleaning validation study the effectiveness of the cleaning process is evaluated to see what needs to be done to reach the criteria that are demanded. The main purpose of this thesis has been to plan and execute a pilot study for a cleaning validation of the production system where AHD 2000, a hand disinfection product, is being produced. A physical inspection of the production system was undertaken and several so called critical areas where pointed out where it is possible that the cleaning process varies in its effectiveness. To evaluate its effectiveness three different sampling methods was undertaken; a swab test, a rinsing test and a visual inspection. To evaluate these tests, analysis of the samples from the swab test and rinse test was studied where the level of total organic carbon (TOC) and chemical oxygen demand (COD) of the samples where measured. Acceptance criteria for the two sampling methods were calculated in order to know which levels of maximum carry over from a previous product that could be accepted. The accepted limits are based on a general limit, usually these limits are in the range 10-500 ppm of a previously manufactured batch. For the visual inspection a physical exam of the critical points was performed where signs of visible residue were noted. The results from the swab test for all critical areas were below the acceptance criteria and thus the criteria for the swab test was accepted. As for the rinsing test the results were slightly above the acceptance criteria but were regarded as acceptable. The visual inspection showed no signs of visible traces of product. Based on the results, the three criteria are therefore satisfied and the cleaning process was regarded to be effective enough to remove traces from a previously produced product.

Full textThe examination of the position of the finite verb in correspondence with the pragmatic status of discourse referents reveals an overall tendency for verb-initial order in thetic/all-focus sentences, whereas in categorical/topic-comment sentences verb-second placement with an initial topic constituent is preferred.
This conclusion provides support for the hypothesis stated in Donhauser & Hinterhölzl (2003) that the finite verb form in Early Germanic serves to distinguish the information-structural domains of Topic and Focus.
Finally, the investigation sheds light on the process of language change that led to the overall spread of verb-second in main clauses of modern German.

Full textAvhandlingen er en kritisk kartlegging og analyse av tidligere og pågående diskusjoner, forhandlinger og sosiale prosesser som er relatert til det å leve i og forvalte verdensarvbyen Angra do Heroísmo på Asorene i Portugal. Basert på etnografisk feltarbeid og kvalitative intervjuer med for eksempel innbyggere, kulturminneforvaltningen, politikere og utviklere har formålet vært å forstå hvordan, og med hvilke konsekvenser, ulike verdier, retorikker, interesser og ressurser er mobilisert og gjort til drivende krefter for disse stakeholderne. Avhandlingen gir en kronologisk fremstilling av utvalgte tematikker og diskusjoner fra 1980 og frem til 2012, hvor de første temaene er knyttet til jordskjelvet som rammet byen i 1980, og den påfølgende nominasjonsprosessen til verdensarvlisten som ga Angra do Heroísmo verdensarvstatus i 1983. Et hovedanliggende for denne avhandlingen er problemstillinger knyttet til det å leve i en verdensarvby, med de restriksjoner som følger et klassifisert område. Videre har målet vært å studere myndighetenes- og kulturminnevernets ståsted og deres bevaringspolitikk. I skjæringspunktet mellom hensynet til bevaring og behovet for utvikling oppstår diskusjoner og forhandlinger, og avhandlingen analyserer utvalgte diskusjoner som hovedsakelig er knyttet til utbyggingsprosjekter. Studien viser imidlertid hvordan bevaringsidealer- og politikk endres, og likeledes hvordan myndigheter og autoriteter utfordres av krefter innenfor og utenfor ‘the authorized heritage discourse’. Avslutningsvis gir avhandlingen en analyse av hvilken betydning verdensarvstatusen har for innbyggerne, noe som berører temaene identitet, stolthet og lokal tilknytning. Verdensarven har således en dobbeltsidig størrelse, som på den ene siden trigger følelser som stolthet og annerkjennelse, mens på den andre siden representerer begrensninger og diskusjoner.

Full textThe aim of this study was to examine whether parents of children with ADHD/ADD felt that their children received the support they needed in school and how the children were treated by the school staff. Furthermore, we examined how parents felt that the interaction between the school and the student affected their children. The study used a qualitative method in which the collected material was interpreted though symbolic interactionism and labeling theory. Four parents with children with ADHD/ADD have been interviewed. The results showed that parents felt that their children had inadequate or no assistance and some children were treated unfavorably by school staff. Parents also suggested that the interaction between school and child affected the child negatively because they were unfavorably treated and did not receive sufficient support. The conclusion of the study showed that the parents felt that school support activities and attitudes of the staff had a negative effect on their children’s ability to cope with school and their self-image.

Full textIntroduction: Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder (ADHD/ADD) and Austim Spectrums Disorder (ASD) are lifelong conditions that often causes severe consequences for the individual. The co-existens of related neurodevelopmental disorders as well as mental and physical illness is common. Knowledge about motor performance in adults is limited. Aims: To explore och describe motor performance in adults diagnosed with ADHD, ADD och Austism Spectrum Disorder. To performe group comparisons and explore differences between groups. Methods: The population consisted of 151 inividuals diagnosed as adults. Motor abilities were examined using the Bruininks-Oseretsky Test of Motor Proficiency, second edition, a reference-based test of fine och gross motor skills. BOT-2 consits of eight subscales organized in four composits, and a total score. One Way ANOVA, independent t-test, Kruskal- Wallis test and Mann Whitney U statistic tests were used in the analysis. Descriptive data was analysed according to normbased data in BOT-2. Resultat: In the population 56% perform within average and 39 % below average in Total Point score, compared to values in BOT-2. All groups performed below average in Manual Coordination. Most deficits appeared in the ASD group. The ASD group scored significantly lower in bilateral coordination and balance compared to the ADHD and ADD group. In Fine Motor Control the ADHD group performed significantly lower than the ADD group. Conclusion: Deficits in motor performance appears to be common in adults with the diagnosis ADHD, ADD och ASD, especially among individuals with ASD. When adults are clinically investigated, motor abilities should also be adressed. Further studies exploring motor abilities is recommended.

Full textThe thesis is a qualitative study of how teachers work with children who have ADHD. The acronym ADHD stands for Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder and is a disability. For the study, five teachers were interviewed. The issues that have existed in the interviews had its emphasis on how the teachers work with children who have ADHD. Children having this type of diagnosis usually have difficulties with attention, impulsivity and may be hyperactive. The study showed results that children with ADHD need help to structure their life with the help of such schedule and fixed routines. It also emerged that the teacher needs to ensure the child's needs by getting the right material and the right instruction. Even to have a good working relationship between home and school is essential to helping children with ADHD to save energy and manage a school day.

Full textExpress Aid is an Urgent Care Center (UCC) that will be providing non-emergency care for the community of Riverside, California. With the expansion of Medicaid due to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) there has been a surge in Emergency Department (ED) usage which resulted in crowding, increased treatment time, and decreased patient satisfaction. Express Aid offers care ranging from primary care services to non-acute chest pain and functions as a walk-in basis. As a Limited Liability Company, Express Aid will function as a hybrid type of legal structure, which has the limited liabilities of a corporation as well as having the tax advantages and operational flexibility of a partnership. Express Aid will be the first center to open in an area where the population is increasing. Therefore, expenses and revenue will be forecasted based on competitors UCC needs, but will also take into account the future needs of the surrounding community. All forecasted finances are performed accurately by using conservative estimates, which will assist in properly developing an operational strategy.

Number of participants in the first group was37959 and the second group consisted of 9443 children. The resultsshowed that children whose parents had Swedish gymnasium as theirhighest education were the ones with the highest treatment proportion,but there were no differences in time of treatment considering theparental education level.

Full textThis project started when LIC Audio AB wanted help with development of a hearing aid for public rooms. The problem is that a lot of people suffer from some sort of hearing impairment. In places with a lot of people and background noise the problem becomes bigger and the sound seems to flow together.
During the project we found the solution for the problem in the shape of a headphone. The headphone receives a signal from a preinstalled hearing loop. The hearing loop exists in most public rooms and after the receiver got the signal an amplifier increases the sound to wished strength by the user. The headphone is easy to use and only got one regulator to control both sound level and on/off. To ease the usage we developed a charging stand and a charging list to hang the headphones after usage. When doing this you can ensure to always have power left in the headphones.
The project resulted in a working prototype of the headphones showing the thought of the project. We have also made models of the charging stand and charging list.

Full textThe aim of this study is to discuss the diagnosis ADHD as a meaning-making discourse that is something more than just a diagnosis with a set of symptoms. I aim to discuss that the diagnosis is productive and can be seen as a means to control and to comfort individuals. The research was based on a method consisting of an idea analysis and a discourse analysis. I am using both a discourse analysis and a critical ideology analysis as perspectives. These perspectives are also based on a general theory of late modernity. In the course of this analysis of ideas and discourse I pursue a series of questions. In this course I focus on four themes. These are late modernity and its focus on the individual, social work and its search and need for methods in its daily practical work, the diagnosis and specifically ADHD and crime control and treatment of criminals. The analysis is done by comparing these themes to the main question of this essay. The main question is: How can the diagnosis ADHD be seen as a meaning-making discourse in the social work with criminals? The empirical material is restricted to the last of these four themes and it is in relation to that, that the discourse analysis as a method takes place. This study is partly using Foucaults theory of selfdiscipline. The result is that ADHD has a potential to explain a lot of social problems.

Full textThe purpose of this study is to analyze what kind of perceptions employers have regarding ADHD in the workplace. Semi-structured interviews were used as data-collection-method. The selection consist seven interviews with employers within the private sector. The study has been inspired by the phenomenographic approach. The medical and social model in relation to disability as well as social-categorizations is the analytical tools. The results are presented in five themes. Our study shows that employers thought that ADHD is a phenomenon which is difficult to define. According to the informants ADHD requires much time, tolerance and pa-tience. For the employers there seemed to be a limit regarding how much the workplace can adapt to the individual, and financial support was considered necessary to adapt the work-place. Employers felt that it is beneficial if the person with ADHD is open about his diagno-sis. However, they also thought it could be more difficult to get a job if the person talked about his diagnosis before he is employed. Throughout the study employers considered it to be important to see the person behind the diagnosis. The employers regarded mostly disabili-ties from the medical model and had a tendency to social-categorized people with ADHD.

Full textSyftet med denna rapport är att visa hur man på en förskola kan organisera verksamheten kring ett barn med diagnosen ADHD.
Denna rapport är en fallstudie som är gjord på en förskola. Barnet med diagnosen är snart 4 år. I undersökningen gjordes kvalitativa intervjuer med tre pedagoger som arbetar på förskolan. För att resultatet skulle bli så tillförlitigt som möjligt användes även observation som metod.
Resultatet visar att ett samarbete med andra enheter såsom habilitering och resursteam och även med föräldrar är av stor betydelse. Det krävs samverkan och samsyn såväl externt som internt mellan pedagogerna på skolan men även mellan pedagogerna och förskolans ledning.
Fokus i den pedagogiska verksamheten läggs på social träning där pojkens styrkor lyfts fram. Pedagogerna anser detta vara av stor vikt för pojkens utveckling. Impulskontroll och koncentrationsträning sker enskilt med en pedagog. Denna träning sker med handledning från habiliteringen.

Full textDenna c-uppsats handlar om hur personalen inom kriminalvården ser på och hanterar personer med funktionshindret ADHD. Det är en kvantitativ studie där vi genom telefonenkät undersökt vilken kompetens personalen har om funktionshindret och hur de ser på förekomsten av ADHD hos intagna inom kriminalvården. 70 anställda vid 28 anstalter har besvarat enkäten. Vi har även undersökt vad personalen har för upplevelse av att arbeta med intagna med ADHD, och om förutsättningar finns att bedriva ett speciellt stöd. Resultatet har analyserats utifrån ett symboliskt interaktioniskt perspektiv och mot bakgrund av tidigare forskning om området. Resultatet av vår undersökning visar att personer med ADHD inom kriminalvården skiljer sig på olika punkter gentemot övriga intagna. Personalgruppen upplever att målgruppen är mer svårmotiverad än övriga intagna när det gäller studier, behandling och dagliga rutiner. Detta skapar problem då behandlingsmetoder för personer med ADHD saknas. Personalen upplever också att personer med funktionshindret oftare än andra intagna är inblandade i konflikter, något som antagligen påverkar fängelsevistelsen negativt i stället för att stärka individen att bättre klara ett liv efter frigivning.
