Abstract:
Background: Given the prevalence of sleep issues, their impact on overall health and the potential of gradual awakening in mitigating part of the negative effects, innovative solutions can be leveraged to facilitate this awakening process. Objectives: The current study aims to present in detail and validate a novel system that utilizes advanced AI algorithms for sleep tracking, sleep stage prediction, and a "smart alarm" component for optimal gradual awakening. Methods: A clinical trial was conducted to assess the system's effectiveness, namely its influence on several key daily aspects. Parti

Abstract:
Buddhist soteriology presents a discovery of a paradox at the very heart of the “human condition”. To reach awakening, one has to relinquish central tenets of what makes us human (in conventional understanding), such as mind and self, meaning that the process of awakening is necessarily at the same time also a process of self-overcoming that shatters everything ordinarily understood as human and leaves it behind. In this sense, various strands of Buddhism come close to some contemporary neuroscience’s deconstruction of the self and its counterintuitive insights about the mind and intelligence.

Human understanding of the climax of memory has evolved through a progressive process from the unconscious, to the subconscious, and then to consciousness. Episodic memory plays a crucial role in this process, determining how individuals break and recombine slices of their self-narrative. Intense emotional experiences serve as the backdrop of this entire process, determining the fun and meaningfulness of the narrative. However, with the rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI) , humans seem to be entering another dimension of agency—one in which they are both fragmented into slices and simultaneou

This article analyzes the philosophical doctrine of the spiritual nature of man as the fundamental basis of his existence. The main focus of the analysis is Viktor Frankl's book "The Unconscious God," which presents an original anthropological theory encompassing all levels of human existence. By perceiving man holistically, this perspective contributes significantly to understanding human nature as a unique form of being. According to Frankl, the spiritual dimension can manifest both consciously and rationally, as well as unconsciously and irrationally. The crucial aspect lies in awakening an

Consciousness must start from somewhere, or be triggered by something. The science is contested, but gives us some paradigms and suggestions of what could be the hallmarks and drivers of sentience. We relate these to examples by Calvino showing the emergence of purpose, Shelley’s Frankenstein illustrating the influence of reflection and associative learning on independence of mind and Tchaikovsky’s superspiders as emerging social cognition. Abstract This chapter first outlines relevant German cultural characteristics: enormous interest in science and technology, but also fundamental scepticism about machines. It then distinguishes two phases in the portrayal of artificial intelligence (AI) in German science fiction. From the 1960s, cybernetics and the increasing use of computers inspired Herbert W. Franke to write several innovative texts on supercomputers controlling societies and developing from tool to ally or technocratic ruler. The songbird sings a beautiful melody when there is no ecological need, and the imagination and curiosity are fueled for investigation with biological models of cognitive mechanisms of animal communication. Many animal sensory signals remain a mystery to the logical reasoning of science. Through the evolutionary game theory in ecological cognitive science, predictions are made regarding the signal cost, circumstances, and the individual agent’s state, about which signals (continuous or discrete) should be valued in certain circumstances, but not the details of signal design nor any clue as to
