Abstract:

Over the centuries, the U.S. practice of law has evolved into a complex and amorphous profession. To facilitate improved analysis and understanding, this exploratory study seeks to partition law practice areas into meaningful subgroups. The study applies Latent Dirichlet Allocation (“LDA”) as a soft clustering method to 437,210 individual U.S. lawyer profiles in private practice in 2000. The profiles came from a nationally recognized directory. The resulting subgroupings contain terms consistent with the hypothesized relationships. A Random Graph is a random object which take its values in the space of graphs. We take advantage of the expressibility of graphs in order to model the uncertainty about the existence of causal relationships within a given set of variables. We adopt a Bayesian point of view in order to capture a causal structure via interaction and learning with a causal environment. The role of artificial intelligence in education (AIEd) has recently become a major topic of discussion and future planning. This article presents data from a large-scale survey involving 1463 Bulgarian educators in primary, secondary, and high schools. The results revealed that 70.30% of the teachers were familiar with or somewhat familiar with the existence of AI applications. Chatbots were the most popular among the surveyed teachers, with ChatGPT ranking as the most familiar.
