Abstract:
Masalah yang diungkap dalam karya tulis ilmiah ini adalah bagaimanakah kritik sosial atas kebobrokan perilaku pejabat negara dan/atau anggota masyarakat yang terkandung dalam cerpen “Karangan Bunga dari Menteri” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma? Karya tulis ilmiah ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kritik sosial atas kebobrokan perilaku pejabat negara dan/atau anggota masyarakat yang terkandung dalam cerpen “Karangan Bunga dari Menteri” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Karya tulis ilmiah ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif interpretatif. Dikaji menggunakan pendekatan sosiologi sastra dari tinjauan aspek sosial dan budaya. Data karya tulis ilmiah berupa teks narasi dan dialog dalam “Karangan Bunga dari Menteri” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan studi pustaka dengan cara menyimak dan mencatat pokok persoalan yang akan dikaji. Teknik analisis data menggunakan metode pembacaan heuristik dan hermeneutika. Hasil karya tulis ilmiah menunjukkan kritik sosial yang dimaksud adalah kritikan terhadap pemerintahan yang disajikan dengan cara yang cukup halus, tetapi terbuka. Dalam hal ini, pengarang melambangkannya dengan sosok seorang menteri yang sangat sibuk dengan urusan pekerjaannya sehingga menganggap undangan pernikahan yang dialamatkan kepadanya tidak penting. Dalam cerpen itu, tampak kepiawaian Seno Gumira Ajidarma dalam mengolah kritik sosial yang dibalut dengan alur cerita dan penokohan yang apik. Pengarang tampil sebagai sosok “hakim sosial kemasyarakatan” dalam merawat dan mengawal kehidupan masyarakat yang berbudaya. The problem revealed in this study is how is social criticism of the depravity of the behavior of state officials and / or members of the community itself contained in the short story "Garlands of Ministers" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma? This study aims to describe the social criticism of the depravity of the behavior of state officials and / or members of the community itself contained in the short story "Wreath of the Minister" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. This study uses a descriptive qualitative interpretive method. The elaboration uses a sociological approach to literature from the viewpoint of social and cultural aspects. The research data are in the form of narrative texts and dialogues in "Garlands of Ministers" by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Data collection techniques using literature study by listening and noting the main issues that will be decomposed. Data analysis techniques used heuristic and hermeneutic reading methods. The results showed that the social criticism concerned was criticism of government presented in a fairly subtle, but open way. In this case the author symbolizes it with the figure of a minister who is so busy with his work affairs that he considers the marriage invitation addressed to him unimportant. In this short story, Seno Gumira Ajidarma's expertise in processing his social criticism was wrapped with neat storylines and characterizations. The author appears as a figure of "social social judge" in caring for and guarding the life of a civilized society.

Abstract:
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan konfrontasi ideologi, peranan tokoh intelektual, dan peranan formatif antologi Saksi Mata karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Jenis peneletian ini ialah deskriptif kualitatif. Pendekatan penelitian ialah sosiologi sastra dengan menggunakan teori hegemoni Antonio Gramsci. Pengumpulan data penelitian menggunakan teknik baca-catat. Teknik analisis data ialah model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. Pertama, konfrontasi ideologi pada Saksi Mata bertujuan untuk menyangkal ideologi militerisme, anarkisme, dan radikalisme, tetapi ideologi humanisme menjadi mediasi emansipasi Ajidarma terhadap insiden ketidakadilan manusia, sedangkan ideologi nasionalisme, etnonasionalisme, dan nativisme mampu eksis sebagai prasyarat untuk menyampaikan suara nasib korban kekerasan dan pelanggaran hak asasi manusia. Kedua, tokoh intelektual pada Saksi Mata diperankan oleh Ajidarma untuk menyampaikan peristiwa kekerasan dan pelanggaran hak asasi manusia. Ketiga, peranan formatif Saksi Mata sebagai antologi yang secara kritis tidak hanya berlaku sebagai dokumentasi peristiwa historis melainkan juga bermaksud untuk menghubungkan kondisi peristiwa historis tersebut sebagai upaya emansipasi.(The aim of this study is to explain the notions about ideological confrontation, the role of intellectual characters, and formative anthology in Saksi Mata, the anthology of short stories by Seno Gumirah Ajidarma. This study applied the descriptive qualitative design. The study also uses sociology of literature as the approach of the study with specialized implementation of hegemony theory by Antonio Gramsci. In order to get the precision data, the study applied note taking technique in data collection. The technique of data analysis was used Miles and Huberman model. The result of this study conclude to several notions as follows. First, ideological confrontation in Saksi Mata had an aim to refute the militarism, anarchism, and radicalism, while the notion of humanism become mediation of Ajidarma’s emancipation towards inequity incidents in society. Furthermore, nationalism, etnonationalism, and nativism are able to exist as the prerequisites, in order to convey the society regarding the voice of human rights violation victims. Second, intellectual characters in Saksi Mata were created by Ajidarma as the figure or message transmitter with the purpose to convey society regarding the human rights violation incidents. Third, Saksi Mata formative role as an anthology is critically not only valid as a historical documentation but also it intends to link the conditions of historical event as an emancipatory effort.)

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah novel Rahvayana karya Sujiwo Tejo dan novel Kitab Omong Kosong karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma, sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah intertekstual antara novel Rahvayana karya Sujiwo Tejo dan novel Kitab Omong Kosong karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengumpulan data berupa dokumentasi dan instrument penelitian menggunakan kartu data. Pembicaraan mengenai perempuan tidak terlepas dari isu kesetaraan gender atau emansipasi. Isu tentang emansipasi sendiri merupakan wujud dari penolakan kaum perempuan terhadap kesenjangan hak, kewajiban, dan perannya dalam kehidupan. Penyuaraan kesetaraan gender tersebut seringkali dilakukan melalui pemikiran yang terdokumentasi di sebuah karya tulis, salah satunya dalam bentuk karya sastra, yaitu novel. Berdasarkan pemaparan tersebut, maka dilakukan penelitian ini dengan tujuan mendeskripsikan bentuk-bentuk opresi terhadap perempuan dan perlawanan perempuan sebagai wujud eksistensinya dalam novel Drupadi karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dari perspektif feminism eksistensialis Simone de Beaviour. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Sumber data pada penelitian ini adalah novel Drupadi karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan dengan teknik dokumentasi. Data yang berupa kutipan-kutipan di dalam novel kemudian dikaji dengan teori feminisme-eksistensialis Simone de Beaviour. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam novel Drupadi karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma terdapat 10 data terkait bentuk-bentuk opresi terhadap perempuan yang terdiri atas: (1) pandangan perbedaan posisi perempuan dan laki-laki, (2) opresi terhadap perempuan dari segi pelayanan dalam perkawinan, dan (3) pelecahan seksual; serta 13 data terkait bentuk-bentuk perlawanan kaum perempuan sebagai wujud eksistensinya yang terdiri atas: (1) bekerja, (2) menjadi agen intelektual, dan (3) melakukan transformasi dalam masyarakat. Kata kunci: feminisme eksistensialis, opresi, eksistensi, perempuan, Drupadi EXISTENSIALIST FEMINISM IN SENO GUMIRA AJIDARMA’S DRUPADI NOVEL AbstractThe discussion about women cannot be separated from the issue of gender equality or emancipation. The issue of emancipation itself is a manifestation of women's rejection of the gap in their rights, obligations and roles in life. The voicing of gender equality is often carried out through thoughts that are documented in a written work, one of which is in the form of literary works, namely novels. Based on this explanation, this research was conducted to describe the forms of oppression against women and women's resistance as a manifestation of their existence in the Drupadi novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma from the perspective of Simone de Beaviour's existentialist feminism. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The data source in this study is the Drupadi novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Data collection in this study was carried out by using documentation techniques. The data in the form of quotations in the novel were then studied with the feminism-existentialist theory of Simone de Beaviour. The results of this study indicate that in the Drupadi novel by Seno Gumira Ajidarma, there are 10 data related to forms of oppression against women consisting of, (1) views of the different positions of women and men, (2) oppression against women in terms of service in marriage; and (3) sexual harassment; as well as 13 data related to forms of women's resistance as a form of their existence consisting of, (1) work, (2) becoming an intellectual agent, and (3) transforming society. Seno Gumira Ajidarma is well-known as a multitalented popular figure in Indonesia. He is an artist, a humanist, a writer, an academician, and others. His works are always in excellent quality. They need an incredible depth level of intrinsic aspect exploration. Previous studies have shown that criticism against government of the New Ordermassively appears on Ajidarma’s writting. However, the criticism is well-hidden behind his expertise in word processing and stories composing or other excellent quality works. This research is aimed into Ajidarma's social critique in the following four short stories: “Pelajaran Mengarang”, “Sepotong Senja untuk Pacarku”, “Telinga”, dan “Maria” which are focused on the concept of gender and Other's conflict. Based on the concepts of the Holmes gender and the Other of Callavaro, as well as several supporting references, it comes into the following outcomes: gender conflicts are connected to inferiority and superiority; the non-acceptancy of certain criteria and many causes make the inferior is victimizedwith the arbitrariness of the ruler in such forms: doctrine, alienation, discrimination, detention, torture, even murder; inferiority is resembling the present situation and conditions in this country

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui konflik batin pada sembilan cerpen yang ada dalam kumpulan cerpen Matinya Seorang Penari Telanjang karangan Seno Gumira Ajidarma dengan menggunakan teori Struktural. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan menganalisis proses terjadinya konflik batin, dan mengelompokkan konflik batin berdasarkan motif mendekat dan menjauhnya sebuah konflik yang terjadi pada delapan cerpen pilihan dalam kumpulan cerpen Matinya Seorang Penari Telanjang karangan Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Hasil dominan dalam penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat konflik batin yang memberikan motif positif dan motif negatif atau approach-avoidance conflict pada tokoh utama. konflik batin yang timbul dalam kumpulan cerpen Matinya Seorang Penari Telanjang karangan Seno Gumira Ajidarma timbul karena adanya kesulitan dan ketidakberdayaan tokoh utama dalam memenuhi suatu kebutuhan dalam hidupnya. Seperti pada tokoh dalam cerpen “Tujuan: Negeri Senja” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dan cerpen “Sehari Menunggu Maut” karya Ernest Hamingway yang memilih pasrah dalam memandang kematian. Tujuan penelitian dalam artikel ini untuk memberikan deskripsi perbedaan dan persamaan mengenai makna kepasrahan yang dialami seorang tokoh dalam cerpen “Tujuan: Negeri Senja” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dan cerpen “Sehari Menunggu Maut” karya Ernest Hamingway. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan analisis komparatif dengan teori psikologi sastra. Teknik pengumpulan data adalah studi pustaka dengan sumber data berupa cerpen “Tujuan: Negeri Senja” karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma dan cerpen “Sehari Menunggu Maut” karya Ernest Hamingway. Teknik analisis dengan deskriptif interpretatif. Hasil yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini adalah pada kedua cerpen tersebut terdapat persamaan tema cerita yaitu kematian. Perbedaanya terletak pada karakter tokoh dalam memaknai kepasrahan dengan sikap merelakan, menerima, mengatasi sesuatu, dan melakukan tindakan. The purpose of the research in this article is to provide a description of the differences and similarities regarding the meaning of surrender experienced by a character in the short story “Tujuan: Negeri Senja” by Seno Gumira Ajidarma and the short story “Sehari Menunggu Maut” by Ernest Hamingway. The method used is descriptive method with comparative analysis with literary psychology theory. Data collection techniques are literature study with data sources in the form of short stories “Tujuan: Negeri Senja” by Seno Gumira Ajidarma and the short story “Sehari Menunggu Maut” by Ernest Hamingway. Analytical techniques with interpretive descriptive. The results found in this study are in the two short stories there are similarities in the theme of the story that is death. Abstract:
This article discusses the discourse of madness in the novel Kalatidha Seno Gumira Ajidarna. This research focused on how the construction of the discourse of madness in the text of the novel Kalatidha and how the discourse of madness in the novel destabilize the dominant thinking about the madness. The analysis showed that the construction of the discourse of madness in the novel Kalatidha not based totally on the structure of a particular paradigm, be it in the framework of the modern paradigm and post-structural paradigm. Discourse of madness in the novel Kalatidha reveals a number of ironies and contradictions within the dominant discourse of madness, so that any construction of meaning in the text looked intact and stable.Abstrak Artikel ini membahas diskursus kegilaan dalam novel Kalatidha karya Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Penelitian difokuskan untuk melihat bagaimana konstruksi diskursus kegilaan dalam teks novel Kalatidha dan bagaimana konstruksi diskursus kegilaan tersebut mendestabilisasi diskursus kegilaan dominan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa konstruksi diskursus kegilaan dalam novel Kalatidha tidak didasarkan secara total pada struktur paradigma tertentu, baik itu pada kerangka paradigma modern maupun paradigma pasca-struktural. Diskursus kegilaan dalam novel Kalatidha mengungkap sejumlah ironi dan kontradiksi dalam diskursus kegilaan dominan sehingga setiap konstruksi pemaknaan dalam teks tampak tidak utuh dan stabil.

Abstract:
The intersection of urban life and literature is the starting point for this thesis on the writings of Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Seno has been writing since the early 1980s and is widely recognised as being one of the key figures of contemporary Indonesian literature. Throughout this thesis, Seno's works are used as the source material for an analysis of a writer's imagining of urban life in contemporary Indonesian literature. As such, this research seeks to contribute to discourses on Indonesian urban societies, Indonesian social and political cultures and contemporary Indonesian thought. I link Seno's work and studies of Indonesian urban trends with those occurring in other parts of the world. By drawing on historical, anthropological, literary and postcolonial studies of urban spaces and societies, this thesis shows the key ways in which urban spaces - particularly those of Jakarta - are imagined in the writings of Seno Gumira Ajidarma. I argue that Seno's writing allows a reading of urban spaces and societies that draw on ideas regarding Indonesian cities found in writings both from within and outside of Indonesia. This thesis uses theories developed on the idea of 'the flaneur' and the practice of flanerie in contemporary urban societies. These theories are used to analyse the ways in which Seno Gumira Ajidarma writes of and about contemporary urban conditions in Indonesia in general and Jakarta in particular. I locate four primary areas where the concept of 'the flaneur' is present in the writings of Seno Gumira Ajidarma. Firstly, Seno imagines the flaneur as a figure who engages in urban life in both an ambivalent and a critical manner. Secondly, he engages in flanerie as a consumer of jazz in late night jazz clubs and as a reader of news reports detailing stories of state violence far from urban Jakarta. Thirdly, he is a flaneur who negotiates the meanings of the urban soundscape. And, finally, the flaneur is a part of the urban landscape in a time of crisis who interprets the scenes before him through taking photographs and using a taxi to pass through city streets. The thesis shows that Seno's writings are both a continuation of an earlier tradition of flanerie and that he engages with contemporary theories and ideas concerning urban societies.
