Abstract:
Abstract While assessing the effects of climate change at global or regional scales, local factors responsible for climate change are generalized, which results in the averaging of effects. However, climate change assessment is required at a micro-scale to determine the severity of climate change. To ascertain the impact of spatial scales on climate change assessments, trends and shifts in annual and seasonal (monsoon and non-monsoon), rainfall and temperature (minimum, average and maximum) were determined at three different spatial resolutions in India (Ajmer city, Ajmer District and Rajasthan State). The Mann–Kendall (MK), MK test with pre-whitening of series (MK–PW), and Modified Mann–Kendall (MMK) test, along with other statistical techniques were used for the trend analysis. The Pettitt–Mann–Whitney (PMW) test was applied to detect the temporal shift in climatic parameters. The Sen’s slope and % change in rainfall and temperature were also estimated over the study period (35 years). The annual and seasonal average temperature indicates significant warming trends, when assessed at a fine spatial resolution (Ajmer city) compared to a coarser spatial resolution (Ajmer District and Rajasthan State resolutions). Increasing trend was observed in minimum, mean and maximum temperature at all spatial scales; however, trends were more pronounced at a finer spatial resolution (Ajmer city). The PMW test indicates only the significant shift in non-monsoon season rainfall, which shows an increase in rainfall after 1995 in Ajmer city. The Kurtosis and coefficient of variation also revealed significant climate change, when assessed at a finer spatial resolution (Ajmer city) compared to a coarser resolution. This shows the contribution of land use/land cover change and several other local anthropogenic activities on climate change. The results of this study can be useful for the identification of optimum climate change adaptation and mitigation strategies based on the severity of climate change at different spatial scales.

Abstract:
Introduction Forearm arteries are frequently used as workhorse site for cardiac catheterization, bypass grafting and haemodialysis access. There is paucity of data on palmar circulation in live human being and only cadaveric data are available till date. We, therefore, made an attempt to look at the various patterns of sufficient or insufficient palmar arch circulation and various anomalies of forearm arteries, to discuss their clinical implications. Methods and results We obtained the forearm and hand arteriograms of patients (n = 302) through radial (n = 200) and ulnar routes (n = 102). Modified Allen’s test was normal in all of our patients. On the basis of predetermined parameters angiograms were analysed and findings were divided into three groups. These three groups were further classified as type A, type B, type C superficial palmar arch. Conclusion We concluded that type A superficial palmar arch is most suitable for providing adequate collateral circulation in case of harvesting of forearm vessel, whereas type C superficial palmar arch appears to be highly susceptible for digital ischemia in case of radial or ulnar artery occlusion. Modified Allen’s test alone is not justifiable for documenting good collateral circulation and it should be supplemented by other tests to document good collateral circulation before proceeding to any radical procedure.

Abstract:
The urban sprawls are common in the present age. The urban biodiversity conservation is a challenge for the urban planners. The habitats formed within the green and blue spaces are home for the wide variety of floral and faunal diversity. In the series of the conservation actions, the present investigation was undertaken in the urban areas of the central Rajasthan, i.e., Ajmer. It aimed to review and prepare comprehensive database through assessment of the avifaunal species of the municipal area of Ajmer. The seasonal surveys and periodic sampling observations were recorded for twenty-four months from February 2017 to January 2019. The urban area was classified into three regions namely, the Urban Green Patches (UGP), Urban Aquatic Area (UAA) and Human Settlement Area (HSA). The UGA & HSA harbored 104 species and 41 species respectively whereas the UAA harbored 95 species. The Relative Diversity Index of the various species was calculated. The present investigation recorded 167 species from 58 families. With the earlier studies with a reporting of 235 species from 62 families, there was addition of 13 new species and two families. Thus, the cumulative list of Ajmer District presented an account of 243 bird species from 64 families.

Abstract:
Cupressus dupreziana A. Camus is a native tree of the Tassili n'Ajjer (Central Sahara). This conifer was regarded as a remnant, now lacking any regenerative capacity, of a forest that grew in wetter times. Investigations carried out between 1997 and 2001 show that there are 233 alive trees. A disappearance rate of 8% over the last thirty years has been recorded. The discovery of some very young trees testifies to this cypress' capacity for regeneration in situ. Determination of radial growth reveals a juvenile vigour in spite of arid climatic conditions. Pedonthracological analysis reveals the presence of Pistacia atlantica Desf. , its disappearance from the Tassili must be attributed to human over-exploitation ; this pistachio, and Laperrine's olive, must have formed quite widespread groves in the Tassili. The tourism which developed since 1953 is a new source of degradation of the environment, because there is no real measure of protection

Abstract:
Considering the face of human representations and evoking particularly firm presuppositions on a world of masks and animism considered as strictly black - African, number of the authors who studied the rupestral images of central Sahara mixed up "culture" and " racial identity ", artistic canons and anthropological kind, establishing a chopped cultural History, which is not argued. In Ozan Ehéré, remarkable cases of relationships illustrated by scenes showing an anthropomorphic touching a zoomorphic invite to suggest a parallel between representations in style of the Round Heads and the bovidians images (styles of Séfar - Ozan Ehéré, of Abañher, Iheren), while these groups are considered generally independent one of the other one and divided up by typological concern. A first structural approach of the rock art of the zone finally allows us to open stimulating ways, for example about the nature of beings represented on walls (who may not be human beings and ordinary animals attending to some commonplace occupation), and drives us to wonder about the function of these images. According to their possible feminine dimension, some Round Heads paintings could be taken out from the file of enigmatic representations. We could also get bovidians images out from the world of ornamental paintings, or of the chronicle - without appeal to literal readings

Abstract:

Abstract:
The rites of marriage are a privileged social time that the ethnolinguist's study takes as a subject of investigation among Tuaregs from ajjer in south east of Algeria. Marriage ceremonies involve a great number of rituals which allows close study of social groupings, in particular the status/position of women. In the Tuareg's culture, a traditional wedding is very expensive for the bridegroom and his family. This situation has produced a new custom; the institution of collective weddings initiated and supported financially by the stae, associations and also by gifts from shopkeepers. However, we observe some traditions remain even with the collective weddings. In this area, muslim religion disrupts the position of women, showing a real change in traditional values. The presentation of social changes allows the showing on the one hand of how a culture adapts to new circumstances, and on the other how some traditions are preserved. The paerticular status of woman who after marriage find themselves alone - widowed or repudiated, or more rarely separated - shows that in Tuareg culture the liberty of woman, usually vouched for in the past, is actually constrained by law and religion in Algerian society

Abstract:
The rock images of the central Sahara have suffered from the historical and human context of their discovery and then from both their scientific management and their heritage management. Their abundance and the difficulties of the Saharan field have been and are still negative factors, but the lack of knowledge from which these productions of prehistoric cultures are still suffering more than a century and a half after their discovery, clearly falls to those studying them in the past and present. Even if we admire these images for their aesthetic qualities, these form an integral part of the archaeological remains and should be studied as such. Nowadays, the digital and computerised tools enable us, firstly, to quantitatively and qualitatively improve their documentation thanks to image enhancement software used for the recording and the tracing; secondly, to more objectively investigate these artefacts by using other effective data-analysis tools and methods thanks to which their stylistic differences can be highlighted. The application of the processes developed in this research to several adorned walls at the Sefar site, an emblematic area of the Tasīli-n-Ăjjer (Algeria), shows that the use of these tools, supported by rigorous theoretical and methodological basis, allows us to offer a new approach to these rock images, more appropriate to their characteristic of being scientific data
