Abstract:
Research on the formation of entrepreneurial intention has attracted substantial attention and interest from entrepreneurship scholars. In this quest, one theory that has been very popular is the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) by Icek Ajzen. Professor Ajzen was one of the first to study intentions and behaviour, particularly with Fishbein, from the end of the 1960s. Since its inception, TPB has tested, advanced and challenged in many social science fields and, as a result, generated substantial interest among researchers: The seminal 1991 article by Ajzen has generated alone more than 60,000 citations to date. For a more in-depth investigation of his TPB model, we had the opportunity to interview Professor Icek Ajzen. This Research Note presents the transcript of the interview before we then synthesise some of the key ramifications of the interview for research on entrepreneurial intention.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to identify the factors affecting the intention of buying a townhouse by customers in District 9, Ho Chi Minh City. To conduct the research, there is 192 validrespondents and the authors determine six factors affecting the intention of buying customers' houses in District 9 of Ho Chi Minh City: developer brand, price, location, housing characteristics, social influence and legal. The results of the exploratory factor analysis (EFA) show that all of these six factors affect the intention to buy townhouses in the District 9 area of customers. The contribution of the study is that the authors confirm the theory of Ajzen and Fishbein (1975), Ajzen (1985), Ajzen (1991) and compare some empirical studies of Salah et al. (2015), Julius et al. (2016), Haddad et al. (2011), Nguyen (2013), Vo (2013), Vo (2016), Pham (2013). Also, from qualitative and research-related studies, the authors adjusted the scale and analyzed data in the current context. Based on that, research and propose solutions to improve the intention of buying houses in District 9 of customers and orienting for further research.

Abstract:
The purpose was to study the empirical item characteristic curves and the internal structure of the multiplicative scale of the Fishbein and Ajzen paradigm. In previous research, Fishbein and Ajzen derived total scores by means of a belief by outcome cross-product. However, this procedure may bias the meaning of the attitude construct due to the fact that a person can obtain a meaningless score on a particular item by endorsing a negative category on both components. The present study constitutes an empirical test of the extent and implications of this shortcoming. 180 volunteer subjects completed a 15-item attitude scale concerning (a) beliefs toward regular participation in physical activity and (b) evaluation of the corresponding outcomes. The results showed that most of the empirical item-characteristic curves are monotonic but that there is a significant association (transformed r = −.63) between the number of meaningless scores on a given item and item-total correlations. It is suggested that, when the Fishbein and Ajzen paradigm is used, the number of subjects who rate negatively on both the belief and the corresponding evaluation of outcome should be noted since their scores may reflect a biased attitude construct. This would constitute an additional step to the conventional item-analytic procedure.

Abstract:
Individual differences in willpower (a subdimension of conscientiousness) and perceived behavioral control (PBC: cognition regarding extent of control over an action; Ajzen, 1985) in the intention-behavior relationship were explored to better understand when intention will be completed to action. The impact of these constructs in postbehavior attributions also was explored. Subjects were traditional and nontraditional students (N=325) preparing for examinations at two time periods. Rather than confirming main effects proposed by prior research (e.g., Ajzen), moderation effects characterized these data. At Time 1, individuals higher in willpower behaved more consistently with their intentions. At Time 2, individuals higher in PBC showed a similar effect. Lower willpower also led subjects to make less attribution to effort when expectations were exceeded.

Abstract:
The entrepreneurial intention with its antecedents is an active area of research. Perceived behavioral control as an antecedent of entrepreneurial intention and a mediator between the relationship of personal characteristics, psycho-sociological factors, and entrepreneurial intentions is proposed in this study. This study is grounded in the theory of reasoned action by Fishbein and Ajzen (1975), the theory of planned behavior by Ajzen (1985), and the Entrepreneurship Event Model by Shapero and Sokol (1982). The data for this study is collected from a sample survey of the students of higher educational institutions to empirically validate the theoretical research model. The analysis establishes that perceived behavioral control mediates the relationship between personal characteristics, psycho-sociological factors, and EIs. The study is useful for policymakers, economists, educationists, etc.

Abstract:
The goal of this research is to study the factors that determine the intention of unsecured personal debt with credit cards using the Ajzen Planned Behavior Theory model (1991). Using the data of 450 Ecuadorian professionals and a model of structural equations estimated by partial least squares, the attitudes, subjective norms and perceived control that guide people towards the intention of this debt were identified. The importance of this study is its contribution to understanding the factors that determine the intention of personal indebtedness in emerging economies, expanding the study population to the professional sector. The transversal study has a quantitative design and its purpose is explanatory correlative. The hypothesis evidence and the results show that the Ajzen Planned Behavior Theory model (1991) is a predictive model of the intention to borrow by credit card in Ecuadorian professionals. The proposed model contributes with new individual and contextual factors that demonstrate the particular importance of knowledge of credit cards (CONTC), lifestyle (ESTV) and past behaviour (CPAS) in predicting the intention of debt (INTEND). Furthermore, due to the cultural characteristics of each region of Ecuador, the results are compared between the cities: Guayaquil (Costa) and Quito (Sierra).

Abstract:
TAM (Technology Acceptance Model) is a technology application model that adopts the Theory of Reasoned Action (TRA) from Fishbein and Ajzen (1975) which is used to see the level of use of respondents in receiving information technology (Kaffashan Kakhki et al., 2020). This TRA is composed of the basic assumption that every human being behaves consciously in self-control and considers the use of available information for use in his life. Ajzen and Fishbein (1975) state that two determining factors can influence a person's intention in doing a certain act, the first is related toattitude towards behavior) and the next influence is social influence, namely subjective norms (subjective norms). This study uses a bibliometric literature review approach with a sample mapping literature of 17 articles regarding planned behavior theory approaches reference articles from 2020 - 2021 under Scopus indexed journal. Our proposition state result the correlation Theory of planned behavior theory and TAM in the aspect of the field of management (e.g., marketing, Technology, E-Commerce) make a positive contribution as a grounded theory to explain the variable antecedent and also its correlation to other theories.

Abstract:
Purpose The theory of planned behaviour (TPB) considers the interrelationship between such concepts as beliefs, attitudes, norms, intentions and behaviour (Ajzen, 1991; Ajzen and Fishbein, 1975). Based on a review of academic sources, this paper aims to analyse the efficacy of the TPB for predicting people’s intentions when choosing a travel destination. Design/methodology/approach Surprisingly, only 15 studies were identified that used TPB to predict the choice of travel destination, though the theory has been used in other areas of tourism analysis. Findings Mixed results were found in the studies. Therefore, the adequacy of the TPB for predicting travellers’ intentions of choosing a destination may be questioned. However, there is nothing in the TPB suggesting that all the constructs of the model must contribute equally, significantly and simultaneously to behavioural intentions. Originality/value To achieve a more comprehensive understanding of the intentions in question, the TPB model may have to be extended to suit different settings. The decision-making process of choosing a destination is a complicated one; therefore, researchers’ attention should not only consider travellers’ intentions but also the direct effect of intentions on the actual behaviour.

Abstract:
Entrepreneurship is the major solution to the unemployment problem that has resulted to multifaceted socio-economic challenges in the developing worlds. If engineer becomes entrepreneur, this will not only create jobs but promote technological development and a sustainable national economic growth is guaranteed. The process of entrepreneurship starts from the development of intention to embark on such a venture, hence this study assessed the entrepreneurial intentions of the engineering students in the universities. To accomplish this task, Ajzen theory of planned behaviour is applied. A survey was conductor at the faculty of engineering, Osun State University, Osogbo, Nigeria through a structured questionnaire administered to 470 engineering students in 2021. The data collected was analysed using Statistical Product and Service Solution (SPSS) version 20. The results of the descriptive and regression analyses using the SPSS show that engineering courses are mostly study by the male gender and further revealed that entrepreneurial intentions could be statistically investigated using the Ajzen theory. The results specifically revealed that personal attitude, subjective norms and perceived behavioural control are statistically significant in determining the entrepreneurial intentions of engineering students, while the level of study is insignificant. Based on these results, recommendations for the government, heads of engineering faculty, educators in the fields of engineering and entrepreneurship were provided

Introduction: Early marriage is a serious problem in Indonesia. It is the beginning of reproductive health problems. This study aimed to explain the factors related to contraceptive selection behavior in young mothers who married early in Surabaya. Methods: Descriptive correlative with Cross-Sectional approach. The independent variables were attitudes, subjective norms, and perceptions of behavioral control, dependents were the intention, and contraceptive selection behavior. The population was young mothers (<20 years) who married early in Kecamatan Semampir and Tambaksari Surabaya. The total sample was 102 respondents. The inclusion criteria were young mothers (<20 years), well verbal communicated and writing, and live with their husbands. Data were collected using a modified questionnaire from Ajzen Theory and analyzed using statistical tests Spearman's rho with significance level ≤ 0.05.Results: Result showed that (p = 0.000 r ≥ 0.650) Ajzen theory correlate with the intention to choose contraception and intention towards contraceptive selection behavior. Conclusion: The more positive the attitude, the better the intention of using contraception. Subjective norms and perceptions of good behavior control lead to good intentions in choosing contraception. Good intentions lead to good behavior in using contraception. It is expected that young mothers who married early with a positive attitude, subjective norms, perceptions of behavioral control, and good intentions can have a positive influence on the other young mothers by sharing insights and experiences regarding contraception.

The consumer's attitude, subjective norm, and purchase intention were explored based on the theory of reasoned action (Fishbein & Ajzen, 1975). A sample of 334 consumers was surveyed and the results were analyzed using structural equation modeling. Results show that a consumer's attitude subjective norm and the salesperson's expertise will facilitate the purchase intention of buying nutraceuticals; the salesperson's expertise and subjective norm can affect the consumer's attitude; and trust belief does not directly affect purchase intention, but rather the consumer's attitude to buying nutraceuticals and the subjective norm.

This paper discusses the benefits of using theory-driven research in sport and exercise psychology using individuals with physical disabilities. The cognitively oriented theories of transactional stress and emotion (Lazarus & Folkman, 1984), attributional theory (Weiner, 1985), and theory of planned behavior (Ajzen, 1985) are outlined. Relevant research with individuals with physical disabilities is examined. The paper addresses how integrating these three theories with research with this population can stimulate research ideas, improve the generality of theories used in sport and exercise psychology, and provide meaningful knowledge about their experiences.

This review explores the known literature with respect to attitudes and introduces a criterion paradigm to aid future researchers in studying links to attitude behavior. Prior writing has varied from a more atheoretical study of attitude behavior to a focus using theories from other disciplines, most notably the theory of planned behavior (Ajzen, 1985). The premise of this paper is that attitude study should progress beyond basic description regarding profiles of pre and inservice teachers to the study of teacher and learner behaviors as a function of known attitude profiles and other mediating variables.

The analysis of the teaching competences of the teaching staff is a preferred task within the educational policies of countries worldwide as teachers are a key piece in educational success. The objective of this research is to design and validate a self-perception questionnaire about the teaching competencies of primary education teachers, based on the Planned Action Model (Ajzen and Fishbein). To do this, we started from a group of discussion and a group of experts. Then, we performed the Cronbach Alpha test, the Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test and the Bartlett test of sphericity. Following the conduction of these tests, the definitive questionnaire was designed and validated, with a reliability of .917. It comprised 60 items, divided within 6 factors which respond to the proposed theoretical model.

Abstract. Faking has been a concern in selection research for many years. Many studies have examined faking in questionnaires while far less is known about faking in selection exercises with higher fidelity. This study applies the theory of planned behavior (TPB; Ajzen, 1991 ) to low- (interviews) and high-fidelity (role play, group discussion) exercises, testing whether the TPB predicts reported faking behavior. Data from a mock selection procedure suggests that candidates do report to fake in low- and high-fidelity exercises. Additionally, the TPB showed good predictive validity for faking in a low-fidelity exercise, yet not for faking in high-fidelity exercises.

The mediating effect of perceived physical ability on the relationship of attitudes with behavior has been investigated in 130 subjects. Perceived Physical Ability was measured using the scale of Ryckman, Robbins, Thornton, and Cantrell, and attitudes were defined according to Ajzen and Fishbein. Two months later, all subjects reported their exercise behavior. Attitudes were significantly correlated 0.445 with exercise behavior, but Perceived Physical Ability did not influence the relation of attitude to behavior. Although this does not invalidate previous findings concerning the mediating influence of some personality factors, it does support the point of view that methodological considerations need to be included in the attitude-behavior controversy.

The mediating role of the theory of planned behavior (TPB; Ajzen, 1991) constructs in the belief constructs-intention relationship is examined in this study. We investigated the mediation ability of TPB constructs on Iranian adolescents' intentions to consume unhealthy snacks. A sample of 739 adolescents completed questionnaires assessing behavioral, normative, and control beliefs, attitudes, subjective norms, perceived behavioral control (PBC), and intentions. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that measures had discriminant validity. Analysis showed that attitudes and PBC only partially mediate the effect of behavioral and power beliefs, on intention. This finding suggests that the predictive power of TPB will increase with the inclusion of belief components.

Although the importance of animal companions for their owners has been investigated (Aylesworth, Chapman, & Dobscha, 1999), and it has been established that pets are becoming increasingly important and that owners are spending more and more on them (Ridgway, Kukar-Kinney, Monroe, & Chamberlin, 2008), the question remains of whether it is more likely that animal companions change their owner's lifestyle or vice versa. Using the theory of planned behavior (TPB; Ajzen, 1991); characteristics of self-monitoring, and scales assessing the owner-pet relationship, in this investigation we shed new light on how and why owners decide whether or not to take their pets with them when traveling for leisure purposes.
