This study investigated the distribution and habitat selection of the globally threatened East Coast Akalat Sheppardia gunningi sokokensis in Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, the Shimba Hills (both Kenya) and the lowland East Usambara Mountains (Tanzania). The species is more abundant than originally thought. In Arabuko-Sokoke Forest, akalats occur in two of the main vegetation types, and an estimated 7,500–9,000 territories represent one of the largest populations of this species in the world. Akalats occurred at similar densities to those in Arabuko-Sokoke (c. 0.5 pairs/ha) in parts of Shimba Hills an

Upper Triassic volcanic and sedimentary rocks of the Mamonia Complex in southwestern Cyprus are exposed in erosional windows through the post-Cretaceous cover, where the Mamonia Complex is tectonically imbricated with the Troodos and Akamas ophiolitic suites. New Nd and Pb isotopic data show that the whole Mamonia volcanic suite exhibits features of oceanic island basalts (OIB). Four rock types have been distinguished on the basis of the petrology and c

There was a relationship between the story of Akar’s novel, which has a Buddhism background, with Dee’s interest as the author’s toward buddha’s teachings that became an indication about the relation between author’s desire and Akar’s novel. To answer this indication, the writer used Lacan’s Psychoanalysis method through the mechanism of metaphor and metonymy by analyzing a series of signifiers on Akar’s novel, so it will discover what exactly the desire of “being” and “having” of the author.

Stimulation of numerous G protein-coupled receptors leads to the elevation of intracellular concentrations of cAMP, which subsequently activates the PKA pathway. Specificity of the PKA signaling module is determined by a sophisticated subcellular targeting network that directs the spatiotemporal activation of the kinase. This specific compartmentalization mechanism occurs through high-affinity interactions of PKA with A-kinase anchoring proteins (AKAPs), the role of which is to target the kinase to discrete subcellular microdomains. Recently, a peptide designated “AKAPis” has been proposed to
