Abstract:

Members of the genus Phascolion Théel are probably the most familiar of sipunculans because most species inhabit the empty shells of molluscs and other similar structures and are therefore easily collected in dredge samples. Although the genus is represented in most seas and depths, few species have been investigated in detail and much of our knowledge is based on studies of the widespread Atlantic species P. strombi (see Åkesson, 1958; Hylleberg, 1975; Kristensen, 1970; Wesenberg-Lund, 1929). P. strombi is known to be remarkably plastic in many of its characters, particularly external, to the extent that Gerould (1913) was able to distinguish seven varieties in the western Atlantic region alone. Much of the variation in the size and colour of P. strombi, and in the form of the skin papillae, especially those generally termed ‘holdfasts’ or ‘adhesive papillae’, may be attributable to the size and type of shelter that is inhabited but experimental evidence is lacking. It follows that a similar degree of external plasticity to that recognised in P. strombi must be assumed for most, if not all, Phascolion, presently totalling around 45 species. Many Phascolion species have been erected on single or just a few specimens showing only slight differences of dubious systematic significance.Taxonomically, the genus is very difficult and no satisfactory key to the species has yet been devised. As a first step, there is a need for definitions of subgenera, preferably based on internal characters which are not subject to environmental influences. To this end, the retractor systems of the north-east Atlantic species described below have been studied and compared with the type specimens of species from other areas.

Abstract:

This thesis aims to examine if performative populism exists within the Sweden Democrats and if the level of populism has changed over time. By using a gradational approach when conceptualising populism, it seeks to address a case of ‘mixed bags’. Furthermore, this paper address questions regarding how to measure populism and how to operationalise populism into context. Populism is conceptualised as a political style, according to Benjamin Moffitt’s work on populism. Thus, the performative side of the leader is central. This includes content, rhetoric, gestures and the theatrical side of the leader’s performance. By using a twofold methodological approach, a quantitative content analysis, followed by a qualitative one, both frequency of populist indications and how they relate to each other can be accounted for. Results indicate that populism exists within the Sweden Democrats, and that the level of populism seems to be increasing over time. Moreover, while the methodological approach is sufficient for measuring the level in terms of less and more, it cannot account for degree in terms of index.

Abstract:

Sonja Åkesson is one of Sweden’s most well known poets. Her most productive period was from 1957 to 1977, and besides poetry she wrote novels and drama. Today, Sonja Åkesson is famous for criticizing society, mostly in a feministic way. But she was not aware of her critical approach until she became successful among her feministic readers in 1960, with poems like ”Äktenskapsfrågan” and ”Självbiografi (replik till Ferlinghetti)”. This essay examines professor Yvonne Hirdman’s theory about women’s inferior position in relation to men’s between 1930-1960 in Sweden. During the 1960’s, women were obstructed from the labour market and bundled off to their homes where they became “housewives” or “homemakers”. At home, their sole responsibilities were cleaning, cooking and caring for the children. I show how this inferior position exists in three of Sonja Åkesson’s poems from the same time:”Hjärtans fröjd”, ”Monolog” and the last part of ”Husfrid”, ”III (påskfrid)”. My work is based on linguistic change in the Swedish language such as realism and dada. These linguistic changes, among others, became important and innovative sources for the process and together they developed new Esthetics: ”nyenkelheten”. Nyenkelheten also got inspiration from changes in the political and cultural climate, like women’s emancipation and industrialization. Sonja Åkesson is one of the first poets to be called ”nyenkel”. Other writers and professors, like Eva Lilja, Per Rydén, Amelie Björck and Lars Elleströms essays and discourse will assist me in my work about Sonja Åkessons way of expressing the Swedish society in her poems. My conclusions are that the “housewife” in Åkessons poems often feel both bored and stressed from her tasks at home. This expresses itself in forms of grotesque realism and irony in the language, and also often a feeling of duality.

Abstract:

Den här rapporten redovisar produktionsprocessen för en re-design av en webbsida. Kommunikations-byrån Åkesson & Currys webbsida har funnits i över fem år. I dagsläget tycker inte företaget att webbsidan representerar vilka de är, därför var ett led i produktionsprocessen att undersöka hur de ser på sin identitet. Målet var att med en ny vision av Åkesson & Currys identitet producera ett designförslag över en webbsida som presenterar dem på ett representativt sätt. Re-designen ska möjliggöra att användaren blir intresserad av byrån och gärna initierar till en ny kontakt med Åkesson & Curry efter ett besök på webbsidan. Rapporten beskriver mitt tillvägagångssätt genom intervjuer, kravhantering, personas och scenarios. Metoderna har lett till att jag fått en bra grund att stå på när jag utvecklat färgpalett, logotyp och producerat designförslag. Utvecklingen skedde i programmen Adobe Illustrator och Adobe InDesign. Resultatet blev en webbsida som är ljus, varm och intressant – motsatsen till Åkesson & Currys nuvarande webbsida.
This report describes the production process during a re-design of a website. The communications agency Åkesson & Currys website has existed for over five years. In these days the company does not think that the website represents who they are. The aim for me was to examine how they look upon their identity. The goal was to enable a new vision of Åkesson & Curry's identity and come up with design sketches of a website that presents them in a right manner. The re-design enables the user to become interested in the agency and desire to initiate a contact with Åkesson & Curry. The report describes my approach through interviews, lists of goals, personas and scenarios. These methods have led me to a solid starting point when developing the colour palette, logotype and producing the design sketches. The development was done in the programs Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. The result was a website that is clean, warm and attractive – the opposite of Åkesson & Curry's current website.

Abstract:

This essay use Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffes view on dicourse theory analyses speeches from the Swedish democrats to see how the partie define the swedishness and how the contribute to antagonism during the process. The essay uses chain of equivalences to see how they construct the identity and also uses antagonism to create an understanding for the overtaking in discourse, which is often used by the Swedish democrats to define the identity their way. The theoretical and methodological framework helps the study to clarify what is included and excluded in swedishness. The result in the study is that the Swedish democrats find it crucial to sustain independence, be brave, have Swedish norm, culture and values, and also to create a trustworthy nation where everyone can feel safe. The study also show that the Swedish democrats subjects safety, immigrant and independence for antagonism.

Abstract:

No one believes in Åkesson - a comparative study on the evening press and the public service reporting on the Swedish Democrats before the 2014 election. The purpose of this essay was to study how Aftonbladet and Ekot reports about the Swedish Democrats before the election 2014, as well as comparing the two medias and reasoning about their agendas towards the party. The tabloid, Aftonbladet, is one of the biggest newspapers in Sweden, which depends on counter sales and commercials. Ekot, which is a part of public service, is state-funded and regulated by certain guidelines. Using a quantitative method we studied 80 articles, and through a qualitative method, six of the articles were analyzed to reach a deeper understanding. The theories primary used in this study were agenda-setting and framing, to stress the power of media. As well as political communication, to examine whether the Swedish Democrats are portrayed according to the democratics ideals of what kind of information journalism should provide citizens before an election. The result showed that the politics of the Swedish Democrats was rarely applied in the news articles. It also showed that both Aftonbladet and Ekot tended to portray the political party with a primary negative agenda. The Swedish Democrats were often described as racists, ignorant and irresponsible. Although Ekot proved to be a bit more restrict in their reporting, there were little differences in how both media presented the politcal party. Although the Swedish Democrats has taken on costumes instead of bomber jackets, and has an office in the Swedish Parliament, they still in 2014 aren’t neutralised or portraid as a serious political alternative, in either Aftonbladet nor Ekot.

Abstract:

I denna uppsats undersöks konstruktionen av ett förmodat nytt maskulinitetsideal kallet ”den nye mannen” i svensk medias rapportering av politiker. Uppsatsen har utgått ifrån teorier om genus och maskulinitetsteorier från bland annat R.W. Connell, Michael S. Kimmel och Yvonne Hirdman kombinerat med teorier om konstruktionen av ”den nye mannen” från Marie Nordberg. Tidigare forskning visar att sedan 1970-talet har funnits en idé om en ny man som skiljer sig från den traditionella mannen och att den (nya) nye mannen på 2000-talet är allt mer jämställdhets och omsorgsorienterad. Utifrån vissa markörer kännetecknande för den nye mannen har Dagens Nyheter granskats och kommit fram till att den nye mannen återfinns bland de personer som har undersökts Fredrik Reinfeldt, Thomas Bodström & Jimmie Åkesson. Ett ”nytt” sätt att konstruera maskulinitet har även framträtt, där det maskulina inte konstrueras som en motpol till det feminina utan kan ”göra” femininitet och även framstå som trovärdig, en s.k. hybriditet i maskulinitetskonstruktionen. För de politiker som positioneras i diskursen om ”den nye mannen” öppnades möjligheter för dem som politiker, möjligheter som inte kan åtnjutas av en som positioneras som traditionellt maskulinitet.

Abstract:

“De konflikt-gestaltade partiledarna” är en kvantitativ innehållsanalys av Aftonbladet, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladets gestaltning av Stefan Löfven, Ulf Kristersson och Jimmie Åkesson den sista veckan innan riksdagsvalet 2018. Studien fokuserar på förekomsten av konflikt-gestaltning och typ av tonalitet. Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur gestaltningen yttrar sig och vilka likheter och skillnader som finns mellan de tre partiledarna och mellan de fyra tidningarna. De teorier och tidigare forskning studien utgår ifrån är teorierna dagordningsteorin och gestaltningsteorin samt forskning om tabloidisering, partipress, political bias, nyhetsvärdering och nyhetsurval. Dessa teorier och tidigare forskning hjälper studien att förklara och förstå de val tidningarna gör när de gestaltar partiledarna. Vart fjärde år är det riksdagsval i Sverige. 2018 års riksdagsval blev ett utav de jämnaste valen i svensk historia. Tidigare forskning visar att medier har stor makt över vad medborgare anser vara viktigt och vad medborgare har för bild av det politiska samhället. Vilken typ av bild det svenska folket fick av Stefan Löfven, Ulf Kristersson och Jimmie Åkesson i de största svenska tidningarna inför valet är därför viktigt att undersöka. Resultatet av studien visar att det förekommer mycket konflikt-gestaltning och negativ tonalitet i de texter i tidningarna där de tre partiledarna nämns. Kvällstidningarna Aftonbladet och Expressen använder sig av mer negativ tonalitet än vad morgontidningarna Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet gör. Tidningarna skiljer sig även åt vad gäller vilken person de fokuserat på den sista veckan innan valet. Stefan Löfven är huvudfokus i Dagens Nyheter och Svenska Dagbladet och Jimmie Åkesson är huvudfokus i Aftonbladet och Expressen. Resultatet mellan de tre partiledarna har inte lika stora skillnader. Det man dock kan konstatera är att Stefan Löfven nämns mer i texter med positiv och balanserad tonalitet än de andra två partiledarna. Jimmie Åkesson nämns något mer i texter med negativ tonalitet. Slutsatserna i studien är att det råder stora skillnader mellan morgon- och kvällstidningarna. Detta speglar den tidigare forskningens slutsatser kring tabloidisering, olika styrfält och partipress.
"The conflict-framed party-leaders" is a quantitative content analysis of Aftonbladet, Expressen, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet's framing of Stefan Löfven, Ulf Kristersson and Jimmie Åkesson the last week before the general election in Sweden 2018. The study focuses on the occurrence of the conflict-frame and type of tonality. The purpose of the study is to investigate how the framing looks and what similarities and differences that exist between the three party-leaders and between the four newspapers. The theories and previous research this study is based on is the framing theory, agenda-setting theory and research about tabloidization, party press, political bias and news selection. These theories and previous research help the study to explain and understand the choices the newspapers make when framing the three party-leaders. Every fourth year there is a general election in Sweden. The 2018 general election became one of the most even elections in Swedish history. Previous research show that media have great power over what citizens consider to be important and what kind of image citizens have of the political society. What kind of image the Swedish people received of Stefan Löfven, Ulf Kristersson and Jimmie Åkesson in the largest newspapers before the election is therefore important to analyze. The results of this study show that the conflict-frame and negative tonality generally occurs a lot in the framing of the three party-leaders. Aftonbladet and Expressen use more negative tonality than Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet. The newspapers also differ in terms of which person they focused on the last week before the election. Stefan Löfven is the main focus in Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet, and Jimmie Åkesson is the main focus in Aftonbladet and Expressen. The results between the three party-leaders do not have as much differences as the newspapers. What we can note however, is that Stefan Löfven is mentioned more in texts with positive and balanced tonality than the other two party-leaders. Jimmie Åkesson is mentioned a bit more in texts with negative tonality. The conclusions of this study are that there are major differences between the newspapers. This reflects the findings of the previous research on this subject.
