This has been a project with the aim to develop a product which will solve what I consider to be the biggest difficulty and problem in the sport of wave surfing. That is to get enough speed to be able to stand up on the board and surf without the wave passing you. Today this is done only by paddling with your arms and this project has developed a product that helps the surfer to generate enough speed. Sepsis is a primary cause of morbidity and mortality in intensive care unit (ICU) and critically ill patients. Gram-negative bacteria are implicated in 50-60% of cases of sepsis in ICU and endotoxin is considered to play an important role in the pathogenesis of septic shock. Sepsis is also a contributing factor in more than 20% of cases of acute kidney injury (AKI) in ICU patients, with cases severe enough to require renal replacement therapy. Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a sudden reduction in renal function, associated with a high mortality rate. The main cause of AKI is ischemia reperfusion injury. We previously found that administration of endothelial colony forming cells (ECFCs) or their derived exosomes protects ischemic renal cells against ischemia via paracrine action.
