Abstract:
My study sought to attempt to show the image of society through this art, and to reveal the extent of its representation of the Abbasid society (358 - 516 AH) by both Al-Hamathani and Al-Hariri by addressing many images that represent the system of values of the community’s citizens in the walks of life, including joys and sorrows. And since the Maqamat between Al-Hamathani and Hariri were a reflection of all that, the time separating between them revealed to us many changes and transformations that were evident among the Maqamat. The study concluded that the Maqamat of both Al-Hamthani and Al-Hariri included a great deal of elucidation of the various images from the life of the public for a specific group of the community in their times by monitoring many of those images that came as a mirror that reflects the system of values and the customs, traditions and rituals they hold between them which were common along their time. That era prevailed over the span of their time as they were considered a rich historical record, and their participation in dealing with some of these prevailing customs, traditions and social aspects.

Abstract:
This research seeks to study the act of achievement in Al-Zabidiyah Maqama of al-Hariri. Because it represents a linguistic characteristic worthy of study in the maqamat, as it is possible to separate the text of the maqamah, and to stand on the pragmatic purposes with different contextual dimensions that enhance the relationship between the speaker and the addressee. Proceeding from that, this study, titled “The Performing Verb in Al-Zabidiyah Maqama of al-Hariri: A Pragmatic Study,” examined its linguistic structures that work to accomplish verbs when they are pronounced, and demonstrates their active impact in enriching the maqamah text in the light of a pragmatic analysis that takes into account the social and cultural influences surrounding the text. And other than what is required by the deliberative lesson approach adopted by this study. The importance of this study lies in the fact that it seeks to identify the performing acts in Al-Zabidiyah maqamah, and then to highlight the manner in which these actions were accomplished. The nature of the research necessitated that the researcher raise the following problem; - What are the performing verbs generated in the text of Al-Zabidiyah Maqama? How did you accomplish these actions? In this study, the researcher will follow Searle's five-fold classification. In order to reach a pragmatic approach based on the exploration of the structure of the Maqama text in the light of the communicative process and the performance norms that govern it; In order to decipher its verbal codes, and to apprehend its accomplishments that it achieved in the text of Al-Zabidiyah Maqamah. In conclusion, this research reached a number of results, the most important of which are: the diversity of news verbs in the text of the maqamah; It came either proven, or negative, or confirmed. The command, interrogative, and appeal methods were not limited to performing directive verbs only, but rather expanded their scope, and expressive verbs were accomplished according to the context and the appropriate situation.

Abstract:
Background: Varicose veins are common in Iraq. Increasing incidence is associated with available jobs of bodyguards, barbers and computer workers. Objectives: To highlight the frequency, presentation, methods of accurate diagnosis and surgical procedures which are commonly used by Vascular Surgeons in Medical City Teaching Complex, Al-Shaheed Ghazi Al-Hariri Subspecialties hospital and to compare this study with other international studies. Patients and methods: This is a retrospective study of hundred patients with varicose veins, who were admitted and surgically treated at Al-Shaheed Ghazi Al-Hariri subspecialties hospital during one year period (1st of July 2010 to the 30th of June 2011). It illustrates the technique used and presents the surgical complications met within these cases. Results: Most of the patients were males (67%). Most of them were bodyguards or computer workers. In eight patients only surgical complications are met and dealt with. Conclusions: We are in utmost need for newer methods of treating varicose veins such as Endovenous laser treatment or radiofrequency ablation, and also in need for a well trained personnel and the essential equipments to implicate this.

Abstract:
The article examines the Qur'anic quotes used in the verses of Abu Muhammad al-Qasim al-Hariri (1054-1122), which demonstrate one of the main forms of medieval Arabic rhetoric. It is known that the Qur'an had a great influence on the literature of all other nations in the medieval Arab and Muslim world. Not only do religious literature and pamphlets on Muslim law reflect the spirit of Islam and are enriched with Qur'anic quotations but also other works of medieval art of expression also have this effect. In medieval Arabic literature, we consider this aspect in the example of Hariri's maqamats which are considered to be the most perfect Arabic short stories on eloquence, knowledge in various fields, asceticism, and other subjects. The article analyzes the use of Qur'anic quotes in the speech of two important characters, the narrator and the protagonist, in different situations, themes and relationships, and the protagonist's justification of his actions through these Qur'anic quotes.

تعدُّ مقامات الحريري وبديع الزمان الهمذاني من أبرز الأمثلة للنثر الفني في العصر العباسي التي تشرح قصة سلوك وأفعال شخصيتين خياليتين بإسم حارث بن همام و عيسي بن هشام كرواة هذه القصص وأبو زيد سروجي وأبوالفتح إسكندري كأبطالها. المقامة البصرية من المقامات التي لها عنوان مشترك في كلا المقامين، وتصف الأحداث التي تجري في مدينة البصرة لشخصيات القصة. يهدف هذا البحث إلى استخدام المنهج الوصفي التحليلي لدراسة هاتين المقامتين بطريقة موازنة ودراسة القواسم المشتركة والاختلافات بينهما. مسرحيتان تحملان عنواناً واحداً وفي إحداهما مشهد المسرحية هو «مسجد البصرة» وفي الاخرى هو «المربد». الغرض من الدراسة الموازنة لهاتين المقامتين هو إظهار القواسم المشتركة والاختلاف بينهما ومن خلالها قمنا بمدى تأثير كاتبي المقامات يعني الحريري والهمذاني من الآخر. تظهر نتائج البحث أن المسجد والمربد كان لهما دور مهم في النثر الفني للمقامات، ومن خلال موازنة هاتين المقامتين، يمكن دراسة وجهات نظر همداني والحريري المختلفة. Maqamat al-Hariri and Badi’ al-Zaman al-Hamadhani are among the most prominent examples of artistic prose in the Abbasid era that explain the story of the behavior and actions of two fictional characters in the name of Harith bin Hammam and Issa bin Hisham as the narrators of these stories, and Abu Zaid Srouji and Abu al-Fath Iskandri as its heroes. Al-Maqama Al- basriyah is one of the Maqamat that has a common title in both places, and it describes the events that take place in the city of Basra for the characters of the story. This research aims to use the descriptive analytical method to study these two denominators in a way that balances and study the commonalities and differences between them. Two plays bearing the same title, in one of them the scene of the play is “Basra Mosque” and in the other is “Al-Mirbad”.The purpose of the balancing study of these two Maqamat is to show the commonalities and differences between them, and through it we have examined the extent of the influence of the two Maqamat writers, i.e. Hariri and Hamadhani, from the other. The results of the research show that the mosque and Al-Murbad played an important role in the artistic prose of the shrines, and by balancing these two shrines, it is possible to study the different views of Hamadhani and Hariri.

En effet, abu zayd, mendiant errant, ecornifleur, menteur et remarquablement eloquent passe de l'imposture a la mystique de facon jusqu'ici inexpliquee. Pour mettre en lumiere l'itineraire du personnage nous proposons une etude informatisee des trames radicale et lexicale de l'ouvrage et une analyse semiologique d'inspiration psychanalytique de quelques-uns de ses aspects (itineraires, mensonges, intemperance etc. )
The present work aims to demonstrate that the different stories recounted in the maqamat of al-hariri (1055-1122) form a coherent structure in which the final conversion of abu zayd al-sarugi finds its place and its meaning. Indeed, abu zayd, a wandering beggar, scrounger and particularly eloquent liar, moves from imposture to mysticism in a way hitherto unexplained. In order to bring the character's itinerary to light we offer here a computerized study of the radical and lexica texture of the book and a semiological, psychoanalytically oriented study of some of its aspects (itineraries, lies, intemperance etc. )

The purpose of this work is to study the shape of the houses at the end of the Abbasid period, after five illustrated manuscripts of the Maqamat al-Hariri, historically attributed to the last period of the reign of the Abbasids . The images are in miniatures, containing details of various parts of the house, we have exploited in an attempt to configure and visualize the shape of the house that dates back to this period. The study is divided into three parts. The first part is devoted to a historical summary of the Maqamat and miniatures, as well as a brief overview of the Arabic art of the book, and the European interest.The second part is devoted to types of houses found in the excavations of various Islamic archaeological sites. The third part is devoted to various forms and portions of the house, shown by the miniatures of the Maqamat of al Hariri

Abstract:
This thesis examines ideas about old age in four anecdotes and their illustrations from the 1334 illustrated Mamluk volume of al-Hariri's (1054-1122) Maqamat in the context of early (1250-1382) Mamluk society. The Maqamat contains fifty short anecdotes with a common plot format and two main characters. In each anecdote, the narrator al-Harith relates an adventure of the hero Abu Zayd, an elderly beggar who travels throughout the medieval Islamic Middle East. Using his talent as an orator, Abu Zayd draws people together in a public place, performs an eloquent speech, and is rewarded with money and goods. Ideas about the status of old age in Muslim society originate in the Qur 'an and hadith. Attitudes about the elderly are expressed in other selected texts and in painting (frescoes and manuscript illustration). In the 1334 Mamluk volume, Maqamat illustrations either enhance the text or function independently of the text. Images portray old age as a vehicle for the transmission of knowledge and authority in the social roles of literary scholar, judge, religious leader, and teacher.

By directly taking the reins of power in Lebanon in early 2011, Hezbollah seemed to have succeeded in protecting itself against any deleterious effects of the Special Tribunal for Lebanon. But when it brought down the Hariri cabinet and installed itself in parliament, the party leadership did not yet know that the flipping of power relations within the chamber would also enable it to cope with a totally different kind of threat, much more severe than that posed by the tribunal: the revolt in Syria against the regime of Bashar al-Assad. Thus, in the 2010s, Hezbollah has been under fire from three sides: the Syrian opposition, Israel, and Lebanese anti-Syrian Sunnism.

Abstract:
Explosions, armed actions, and other militant phenomena have been a recurrent feature of Lebanese politics. The divided political landscape across sects and party formations in the absence of a strong executive institutional mechanism in the aftermath of a protracted ‘civil’ war and a hashed-up cessation of hostilities in a turbulent regional environment has all contributed to a climate where violent acts are a way to conduct politics. As a result, the struggle over meaning and naming significantly shapes political struggles and the possibility for compromise in the Lebanon. Conflicting claims as to which acts are labeled terrorism, and how this war on words is integral to the different political struggles plaguing the country involving other regional state and non-state actors. This chapter will look at two important battles at managing claims of terrorism, one regarding the assassination of Prime Minister Rafic Hariri and the establishment of an international tribunal, and the other involving a Islamist targeted campaign waged by Hizbullah against “takfiri” groups such as Al Qaeda and ISIS.
