Abstract Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer related deaths worldwide, with a relatively low 5-year survival rate. Although there are some therapies against lung cancer, new effective treatment options are urgently required. Recently during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen that SARS-CoV-2 binds to its receptor angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2) via spike S1 to enter the cells.
