Odiaga, Noriega Rafael Fernando.
Full textThe aim for this investigation is focused on studying the main characteristics that constructed the visual language of El Otorongo during the second governance of Alan Garcia during the years 2006-2011; as a communication tool and criticism towards the reality of the country. In that sense, the design from this investigation has a descriptive character with a qualitative insight. The results are based on the analysis of 15 covers from this supplement, the same covers that were chosen from the interviews that were done to seven cartoonists from El Otorongo during the same time period mentioned before. A visual analysis card was used to identify the main literary devices which were the metaphor and hyperbole, accompanied by different types of humor such as satire and parody. It was also determined by the absence of zoomorphism to represent the figures of power and the constant use of visual tools that connote the different personalities, physical features and representative elements from the political parties they belong to. In this way, it was concluded that despite the diversity of the artistic styles and the graphic elements used by each author, a visual language was defined implicitly in El Otorongo, based on a critic, mocking and reflective tone; that is how the presence of repetitive characteristics such as the character identification and rhetoric figures allowed the reader to truly understand the messages expressed by each author.

Full textThis dissertation explores the resurgence of the supernatural in the French novel since the 1980s – a topic that has been little studied to date and whose morphological, aesthetic, and socio-historical forms are intended to constitute the core of analysis. At the interface between the established genres of the miraculous, the fantastic or the magical realism, the supernatural elements that recur in many fictional texts point to a certain literary heritage, but they cannot be fully grasped by these categories and thus invite us to reconsider them. Through the staging of magical, spectral and shamanistic imaginaries, they also question the relationship of our society to rationalism and determinism and its crisis of recent decades. With the analysis of selected novels by Antoine Volodine, Sylvie Germain, Alain Fleischer, Marie NDiaye and Christian Garcin, this work pursues a double goal. On the one hand, it seeks to illuminate the singularity of contemporary supernatural forms and their complex structures; on the other hand, it seeks to take a closer look at the poetological functions attributed to them. By oscillating between the temptation of reenchanting the world and a pronounced destabilizing function, these novels unfold an ambivalent space that intertwines reality and imagination and strongly problematizes the forms of our existence, both within the plot and at a narratological or even a stylistic level

Full textPeruvian President Alan Garcia is one of the most controversial politicians in Peruvian history. His successful career as a presidential candidate is opposed to the catastrophic results of his first presidential government. Garcia’s discursive skills and the high contrast between his political success and his poor performance as a president have become a myth in Peruvian popular culture.. In this work we will present a pragmatic-linguistic analysis of the discursive strategies used by Garcia in his second administration (2006-2011). The analysis will be focused on the relationship established by Steven Pinker (2007) between Positive Politeness and Communal Sharing. The works of Brown and Levinson (1978, 1987) and Alan Fiske (1991) will be our theoretical groundwork. Social exclusion in Peruvian electoral population, as explained by Vergara (2007), is the key factor to understand the success of Garcia’s discursive strategy. In his work, Vergara presents a diachronic multi-variable analysis of the Peruvian political situation that explains the rationality behind Peruvian elector’s decisions. Once established the referential political framework, we will proceed with the lexicometric analysis that will help us to identify the discursive strategies used in a previously selected sample of Garcia’s public discourses. In order to match Pinker’s scheme, we will classify these findings according to the positive politeness categorization of Brown and Levinson. Finally, we will associate these results to the Communal Sharing model of social relationship, as defined by Fiske. Our goal is to demonstrate that Garcia’s discursive style is rationally structured to reduce the social gap between the Politician and the Elector.
