Peru is a Priority Theater in The US War against drugs in that it produces more coca for export to the United States than any other Latin American country. The Huallaga Valley, a remote area about 200 miles northeast of Lima on the eastern Andean slopes, is one of the world's most fertile coca-growing regions. This article focuses on what is known about Peru's coca industry, and the anti-drug efforts that have been undertaken by the US and Peruvian governments. Under President Alan Garcia, elected in 1985, the Peruvian government has been usually cooperative with US anti-drug programs; some explanations for this collaboration will be suggested.Despite the Garcia government's cooperative stance, the results of Peru's war against drugs have been similar to results elsewhere: governments have won some battles, but they are losing the war. Perhaps the most important question raised by the ' Peruvian case is whether the United States should give a higher priority to anti-drug efforts or to counterinsurgency; US policy regarding Peru has appeared to do the latter.

Regulation concerning GM crops around the world range from total prohibition to full openness and state-wide promotion. The Andean countries in Latin America provide an interesting setting to analyze the possible causes for this variation. Despite having similar conditions to plant GM crops, Colombia and Bolivia allow GM crop cultivation, while Ecuador and Peru do not. Interestingly, Evo Morales, Bolivia's leftist president, could not ban GM crop production, and Alan Garcia (2006–2011) in Peru, despite his pro-GM stance, failed to adopt a permissive regulation. We argue that two factors explain these divergent outcomes regarding GM seed sowing and reform efforts in Andean countries: (i) the time in which regulatory measures were attempted, and (ii) the quick structural change that GM seeds generate once introduced into a country.

Nowhere on the crisis-ridden latin continent were hopes raised as high as they were in Peru with the 1985 election of Alan Garcia. Nowhere were hopes dashed as dramatically by the onset of an economic, social, and political crisis of unprecedented severity. There is no single explanation for the dismal performance of the APRA government. Indeed, the APRA's performance in power was in keeping with Peru's age-old paradox: an extremely poor record of social reform despite the longterm presence of a strong reformist party. This raises the question of why reform is so difficult to implement in Peru, and why APRA, in particular, proved so inept once in power. While external conditions were largely responsible for Peru's decade-long economic crisis, yet they were far less important than domestic political factors in explaining the APRA's disastrous performance.

Background:Pneumococcal vaccination is recommended in patients with RA who are receiving conventional synthetic/biologic DMARDs.1 Upadacitinib (UPA) is an oral Janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor engineered to have a greater selectivity for JAK1 versus JAK2, JAK3, and tyrosine kinase 2, and is approved for the treatment of RA.Objectives:The aim of this analysis was to assess the impact of long-term treatment with UPA + background MTX on immunologic responses to Prevnar 13® (Pneumococcal 13-valent Conjugate Vaccine [Diphtheria CRM197 Protein]; PCV13) in patients with RA enrolled in the ongoing Phase 2 open-label extension study BALANCE-EXTEND.Methods:Patients from BALANCE-EXTEND receiving PCV13 vaccination were required to be on UPA 15 mg once daily (QD) or 30 mg QD and background MTX for ≥4 weeks prior to, and after, PCV13 vaccination; MTX was not interrupted prior to vaccination. Vaccination antibody titers were collected pre-vaccination (Week 0) and post-vaccination (Weeks 4 and 12). The primary variable was the proportion of patients with satisfactory humoral response to PCV13 (≥2-fold increase in antibody concentration from pre-vaccination [Week 0] in ≥6/12 pneumococcal antigens [1, 3, 4, 5, 6B, 7F, 9V, 14, 18C, 19A, 19F, and 23F]) at 4 weeks post-vaccination.Results:Of 111 patients (UPA 15 mg, n=87; UPA 30 mg, n=24), 86% were female, most (98%) were white, and mean (standard deviation) age was 58.4 (12.0) years. Prior to vaccination, patients had a median (range) duration of RA of 9.3 (3.4–35.0) years and had been receiving UPA for a median (range) of 3.9 (3.0–4.9) years. All but 3 patients were taking concomitant MTX, and 44.1% were taking a CS (median daily dose, 5.0 mg). All 111 patients received PCV13, none discontinued UPA during the first 4 weeks, and blood samples were available from 83/23 and 79/22 patients in the UPA 15/30 mg groups at Weeks 4 and 12, respectively. At 4 weeks, satisfactory humoral response to PCV13 occurred in 67.5% (95% confidence interval [CI]: 57.4–77.5) and 56.5% (95% CI: 36.3–76.8) of patients receiving UPA 15 and 30 mg, respectively. At 12 weeks, satisfactory humoral response to PCV13 occurred in 64.6% (95% CI: 54.0–75.1) and 54.5% (95% CI: 33.7–75.4) of patients receiving UPA 15 and 30 mg, respectively (Figure 1). There was no clear difference in response between patients receiving and not receiving concomitant CS. Within 30 days post-vaccination, 2 adverse events (AEs) were considered as possibly related to UPA (1 case of diverticulitis, UPA 15 mg; 1 case of anemia, UPA 30 mg) and no serious AEs were reported (Table 1). La explotación de la Amazonía se sostiene bajo los discursos de la civilización y colonización. Para ello, el aparato ideológico racista construye una imagen negativa de los aborígenes amazónicos. En este artículo, se estudia el discurso del expresidente Alan García como ejemplo de los discursos políticos antiamazónicos. Se demuestra que su discurso está basado en dos creencias discriminatorias: 1) Entre dos clases de ciudadanos, los amazónicos son ciudadanos de segunda clase y 2) El crecimiento económico es obstaculizado por grupos primitivos como los amazónicos. Para ello, desde el análisis crítico del discurso, se examinan las estrategias léxicas y discursivas presentes en un texto del citado mandatario. Finalmente, se concluye que el discurso de Alan García es una manifestación de una práctica social que reproduce discriminación en el país.

Se describe a Longior panamensis sp. nov. (Oxyurida: Hystrignathidae), parásito de un pasálido de Panamá. La especie es muy similar a L. elieri García, Ventosa et Morffe, 2009 (de Cuba) por la morfología del primer anillo cefálico, la presencia de anillos anchos en la cutícula cervical y las variables merísticas. Se diferencia por la extensión de las alas laterales y la forma del extremo terminal de las mismas. La cola de L. panamensis sp. nov. es, en proporción, algo más corta que en L. elieri y su anillo cefálico más ancho. Se enmienda la descripción de la extensión y la morfología de las alas laterales de L. elieri.

“Un señor muy viejo con unas alas enormes” de Gabriel García Márquez presenta el acercamiento que hacen los habitantes de una comunidad costeña a un ser alado que cae en el patio de Pelayo y Elisenda. Las perspectivas de los personajes son analizadas según los “Estadios en el reconocimiento del Otro” de Luis Villoro y el concepto de polifonía de Mijail Bakhtin. La mayoría de los personajes solo llegan a alcanzar el primer estadio de acercamiento: ver al ser alado como otredad y comprenderlo desde una preconcebida visión de mundo, a saber, si tiene alas es un ángel. Al final, ningún personaje alcanza el tercer estadio y el ser alado escapa volando.

El conflicto de Bagua nos demostró que al Perú le falta un largo camino por recorrer si quiere considerarse como una sociedad abierta a la pluriculturalidad. Esto pasa también por reconocer las diversas manifestaciones jurídicas que existen en el Derecho desde un enfoque basado en ideas del pluralismo jurídico. En este artículo, el autor analiza las ideas evolucionistas y las asocia a actores políticos como Alan García o Mercedes Aráoz. En segundo lugar, analiza la relación que se creó entre las comunidades nativas Awajún-Wampís y la globalización buscando la defensa de sus derechos frente al Estado; y, finalmente, presenta la relación entre el sistema jurídico del Estado y el de los Awajún-Wampís con base en los conceptos del pluralismo jurídico.

A. gunnaryae sp. nov. se caracteriza por la presencia de dos anillos cefálicos, espinas desde el final del segundo anillo cefálico hasta el final del cuerpo esofágico, ausencia de alas laterales, flexión distal del ovario muy corta y huevos estriados. Se redescribe y rediagnostica Artigasia simplicitas García et Coy, 1995. Se describe un nuevo morfo de esta especie para la provincia La Habana. Se ofrece una tabla comparativa con las medidas de ambos morfos.

Esporte educacional e inclusão social: esporte no sistema de ensino; esporte como inclusão social de jovens e adultos; esporte na terceira idade; esporte e promoção de saúde; gênero e esporte; legado social das olimpíadas.2. Esporte de rendimento: formação para o esporte; pesquisas sobre desempenho no esporte de alto rendimento; relação entre subsídios para o esporte e desempenho; legado esportivo das olimpíadas.3. Políticas do esporte: gestão do esporte, programas de incentivo ao esporte; financiamento do esporte; papel das entidades no esporte nacional.Os artigos submetidos se distribuem conforme o Gráfico 1.Assim, abrindo o número da publicação dos artigos, tratamos dos vencedores no tema Esporte educacional e inclusão social. O terceiro lugar da temática ficou com Tatiana Flores Rodrigues, de Uberlândia (MG), com o trabalho “O rugby aplicado nas escolas municipais de Uberlândia através do legado social e esportivo dos Jogos Rio 2016™”, que detalha o treinamento das delegações olímpicas e paralímpicas dos países da Bélgica, Egito, Irlanda e Sérvia, realizado na cidade de Uberlândia e como essa experiência incentivou o desenvolvimento do turismo e do esporte local.Dando sequência à publicação com o tema Esporte de rendimento, a medalha de ouro foi para o trabalho de Natalia Franco Netto Bittencourt, de Belo Horizonte (MG), ao concluir que a implementação de programa preventivo reduz em 43% os dias de afastamento e em 17% as lesões dos atletas jovens, finalizando pesquisa sobre o “Impacto de um programa preventivo multidisciplinar na frequência de lesões em atletas jovens”. A medalha de prata foi de Matheus Mageste Guimarães, do Rio de Janeiro (RJ), que analisa o “Efeito de diferentes protocolos de cluster set sobre o desempenho do salto vertical”, concluindo que os protocolos de Cluster e Treino Tradicional são eficientes de acordo com as especificidades do desempenho dos atletas de salto vertical. O terceiro lugar vai para Ramon Bisson Ferreira, de Piracicaba (SP), que aborda “O certificado de clube formador como colaborador da formação humana e desportiva de atletas de futebol”, apontando estudo dos dispositivos legais e regulamentares atinentes à certificação e indicando os requisitos exigidos e os procedimentos para que um clube de futebol obtenha o certificado de clube formador, o que afeta os jovens que sonham com o futebol profissional.O bloco que fecha o número é o do tema Políticas do esporte. No artigo “Um modelo para a gestão de informações do esporte de alto rendimento no Brasil”, que leva a medalha de ouro, o autor, Alan de Carvalho Ferreira, de Brasília (DF), apresenta um modelo para a gestão de informações do esporte de alto rendimento no Brasil utilizando ferramentas de tecnologia da informação. A medalha de prata no tema vai para o artigo de Fernando Henrique Silva Carneiro, de Goiânia (GO), que conclui ser a fonte orçamentária a que recebeu mais recursos no período de 2004 a 2015, sendo que, ao longo do tempo, a extraorçamentária e a de gastos tributários apresentaram considerável crescimento, no artigo intitulado “O financiamento esportivo brasileiro: proposta de metodologia crítica de análise”. En este estudio se pretende descubrir si es posible establecer vínculos entre la teoría científica y la concepción literaria para identificar en qué medida se relacionan los sueños y las historias y si esta relación repercute de algún modo en los receptores. Para este ejercicio se emplearon el cuento “Un señor muy viejo con alas enormes” (1968) de Gabriel García Márquez y el video Losing my religion (1991) del grupo estadounidense REM. A partir del análisis y las observaciones hechas para este estudio, se expone que el ser humano tiene la capacidad para acceder a un estado de trance y que otros pueden emplear técnicas para hacerlos entrar en él. Se plantea que más allá de las imágenes que crea o se le presentan al sujeto, existe la posibilidad de completar los propios patrones simbólicos para adquirir otra perspectiva de la realidad.

The article analyzes the first films of the Grupo Chaski and Claudia Llosa, two strong references in the Peruvian cinema of the last thirty years. Through the critique of the ideas and characteristics of these movies, the essay tries to build a image of Peru, a country where democracy returned in 1980 and since then he has had presidents accused of corruption and abuse of power such as Alan García, Alberto Fujimori, Alejandro Toledo and Ollanta Humala. The works of Chaski focus on poverty and vulnerability of children in Lima, a big city, capital of the country, in the 1980s. In this sense, they are previous stories to “cine de la marginalidad” that in the 1990s featured movies so realistic like Pizza, birra, faso, La vendedora de rosas, Ciudad de Dios or Ratas, ratones, rateros. Claudia Llosa´s work, called international attention when her second film, La teta asustada, won the Golden Bear, the main prize at Berlin Festival. This film, that establishes a necessary continuity to her first film, Madeinusa, is a portrait of the postwar years in the Peruvian Andes, those of the violence of Sendero Luminoso and how the Army designed a destructive strategy. The article looks for an overview of Peruvian society of the last thirty years, characterized for the structural poverty, terrorism, the development of neoliberal reforms and the corruption of the State at different levels.

El presente estudio desarrolla un particular análisis que abarca cuatro periodos sobre la evolución e implicancias de la actividad minero metalúrgica y su comercialización. El primer periodo normado y regulado por el código de minería de 1950, el cual orientó e impulsó de manera liberal la inversión en minería de capitales principalmente norteamericanos, un segundo periodo considerado entre los años (1968-1980), etapa durante la cual el estado asumió el rol de promotor, ejecutor y líder de la actividad minero metalúrgica y su comercialización de forma monopólica en cumplimiento de la Ley general de minería 18880. Un tercer periodo desde 1980-1990, el cual involucra tanto al segundo gobierno del presidente Femando Belaunde como al primer gobierno de Alan García, etapa durante la cual se mantuvo el papel del estado en lo referente a su accionar como promotor y líder de la actividad minero metalúrgica, variando únicamente su rol monopólico en la comercialización de la producción minera. Un cuarto y último periodo que se encuentra vigente, caracterizado por la privatización de las empresas mineras que eran de propiedad del estado con lo cual se extingue su accionar en la compraventa de minerales, concentrados, fundidos y refinados, regresando en la práctica a esquemas de explotación minera y comercialización similares a las fomentadas por el código de minería de los años cincuenta. Con la aplicación en extremo de políticas económicas de promoción a la inversión en minería de carácter liberal, no se tiene un control/fiscalización de la real valorización de la producción minero metalúrgica y su consecuente comercialización, lo cual estaría permitiendo prácticas de subvaluación y sobrevalorización (transferencia de precios), así mismo se limita la generación de ahorro interno dirigido a inversiones orientadas a la búsqueda de un mayor valor agregado del producto minero, dado que la mayor parte de la inversión minera obedece y depende de capitales foráneos.

Peru approached the twenty-first century a polarized country. In the year 2000, with increased authoritarian control over the legislative and judicial branches along with constitutional reforms paving the way for his re-reelection, President Alberto Fujimori campaigned for a third term in office. His main electoral opponent, Alejandro Toledo, along with opposition leaders, spearheaded massive demonstrations in Lima accusing the government of repression, corruption, drug trafficking, and electoral fraud. Opposition figures were joined by grassroots social movements, unions, students, and human rights activists who opposed the regime's repressive and corrupt practices, which included by now reports of torture and extrajudicial killings. When Fujimori first became president a decade earlier he had inherited a country ravaged by widespread poverty, hyperinflation, nearly depleted foreign reserves, a growing narcotics trade, and two armed terrorist groups: the MRTA (Tupac Amarú Revolutionary Movement) and the Shining Path (Sendero Luminoso). Both were on the offensive across the country, the Shining Path most prominently, planting car bombs in the capital, kidnapping and killing civilians, and besieging towns and villages across the country. Looking for a way out of economic and terrorist violence, Peruvians were faced with two options in 1990: Alberto Fujimori, an ex-university president and agricultural engineer of Japanese descent, and Mario Vargas Llosa, a white, upper-middle-class novelist and liberal intellectual. Though Fujimori was less well-known, many Peruvians saw Vargas Llosa's center-right coalition as a repackaged version of the same traditional political groups that had lead the country into crisis. Fujimori would appear much like Hugo Chávez later in Venezuela, a populist outsider ready to challenge the traditional party system. Many saw Fujimori's succinct rhetoric as refreshing when contrasted with Vargas Llosa's elaborate speeches, especially since the former president, Alan García, who fled the country in 1992 on corruption charges, was also well-known for his loquacious disposition.

During the second half of the 19th century, while the Ottoman press, publishing and literary platforms were flourishing, a need for a more “practical” language of writing arose to convey ideas, and there was a great need to have a new, a more practical language while writing. A language that can convey an idea, a language that can produce information, and a writing style that can spread both. This need for a new language is emphasized by the prominent figures of “New Literature”, and to these writers and prominent figures in the Ottoman state novel as a genre seemed promising for the modernization of Ottoman society as a whole.This article is focusing on the novel’s function during the second half of the 19th century. At the centre of the matter is the reaction of Ottoman –Turkish intelligentsia to the new genre. The article is trying to depict the relationship between classical forms and the new genre and how writers were motivated to merge and create a local novel genre. While doing that we will be mentioning why and how this new genre made local by the names, such as sergüzeşt and hikaye and it’s communication with the “acaib u garaib – supernatural stories” of the Middle Eastern classical literature.Extended English summary is in the end of Full Text PDF (TURKISH) file. ÖzetOsmanlı basın ve edebiyat ortamının 1850’lerden sonra hareketlenmeye başlamasının da etkisiyle, edebiyatın fikri, düşünceyi ifade edebilecek, bilgi üretecek ve onu yayacak bir “yazı dili”ne ihtiyacı açık bir şekilde anlaşılmıştır. Bu ihtiyaç, “yeni edebiyat”ın önemli temsilcileri ve modernleşmeye çalışan devletin yöneticileri tarafından da sıklıkla vurgulanmıştır. İşte bu yönetici/yazarlar, modernleşmek için ihtiyaç duydukları bu yeni dili, çok yönlü bir şekilde kullanabilecekleri bir araç olan romanla kurabileceklerini fark etmişlerdir.Türün XIX. yüzyılın ikinci yarısındaki serüvenine odaklanan bu çalışmada, işte bu yazı dilinin Osmanlı-Türk edebiyatında yazar, okur, matbuat yani edebiyat kamusu tarafından nasıl algılandığı üzerinde düşünülecektir. Makalede, doğayı, insanı, toplumu anlatan romanın, Osmanlı edebiyatına girişine kadar dolaşımda olan hikâye etme pratikleriyle olan ilişkisi de göz önünde bulundurulacaktır. Este trabajo consiste en un breve desarrollo en torno a la imagen-concepto del azar ubicada tanto en la filosofía de Nietzsche como en la literatura de Mallarmé. En el caso de Nietzsche, el azar es presentado mediante la metáfora de un lanzamiento de dados que remite a la naturaleza de los acontecimientos del mundo. Esta naturaleza es aquí comprendida por el filósofo desde el concepto de caos. Por su parte, en la obra de Mallarmé, el azar es mostrado, paradójicamente, a través de la imagen de un naufragio y de las acciones de ciertos personajes (Igitur y el Maestro) que se encuentran perpetuamente en suspenso. La naturaleza de tales imágenes conduce a pensar el azar como una relación intrínseca entre el pasado y el futuro, que define el campo de lo posible. Es el concepto de límite lo que permite realizar una comparación, en ambos autores, sobre el problema del azar.

Abstract Background Pseudomonas aeruginosa (PA) pneumonia is associated with morbidity and mortality in mechanically ventilated, intensive care unit (MV ICU) patients despite best clinical care. We assessed efficacy, PK, and safety of MEDI3902 in MV ICU subjects in the placebo-controlled, randomized Phase 2 EVADE study (NCT02696902; EudraCT 2015-001706-34). Methods Subjects with PCR-confirmed PA colonization of the lower respiratory tract were randomized to either a single IV infusion of 1,500 mg MEDI3902 (n = 85) or placebo (n = 83). Primary Efficacy endpoint was Endpoint Adjudication Committee-determined relative risk reduction (RRR) of PA pneumonia incidence in MEDI3902 vs. placebo recipients within 21 days post dose (2-sided α = 0.2). Serum MEDI3902 PK levels were measured through 49 days post dose. Treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) and serious AEs (SAEs) were assessed through 49 days post dose. Results Baseline characteristics were similar between groups. MEDI3902 did not meet the primary endpoint of PA pneumonia vs. placebo (22.4% vs. 18.1%; RRR -23.7%, P = 0.491). Mean serum MEDI3902 level was 9.46 µg/mL (target 1.7µg/mL) at 21 days post dose, with a t½ 5.6 days. Proportion of subjects with TEAEs was similar between groups: ≥1 TEAE (98.8% MEDI3902; 97.6% placebo); ≥1 serious; and/or ≥grade 3 severity SAE (70.6% MEDI3902; 66.3% placebo). Deaths were numerically higher, although not statistically significant (24 (28.2%) MEDI3902 vs 19 (22.9%) Placebo; RRR -23.3%, P 0.429). Post-hoc analyses suggested RRR 47% among ~70% of the study population who had baseline Procalcitonin levels < 0.55 µg/L (12.5% MEDI3902 vs 23.7% placebo; 80%CI 6.1%-69.9%; P 0.135). Similarly, RRR 83% was observed among 50% of study subjects with baseline absolute neutrophil count (ANC) of < 8170 /µL (2.8% MEDI3902 vs 17.0% placebo; 80%CI 39.5%-95.5%; P 0.038). Subjects with Procalcitonin < 0.55 µg/L and ANC < 8170/ µL also had higher serum PK exposure. Conclusion A single IV dose of MEDI3902 provided PK exposure above the target level but did not achieve primary efficacy endpoint of reduction in PA pneumonia. Efficacy trends were observed in subjects with lower levels of baseline inflammatory biomarkers. MEDI3902 may have a path forward in certain patient populations such as ICU patients with lower baseline inflammation. Background:Coll2-1 is a peptide of 9 amino acid located in the triple helix of type II collagen molecule reflecting cartilage degradation (1). Coll2-1NO2 is the nitrated form of Coll2-1 and considered as a biomarker of the inflammatory-related cartilage degradation (2). This peptide is involved in osteoarthritis physiopathology since it was demonstrated that Coll2-1 induced synovitis in rat.Objectives:To identify if biochemical markers s-Coll2-1 and s-Coll2-1NO2 are associated to knee osteoarthritis (OA), focusing on pain, function as well as structural features assessed by MRI in various knee compartments and to assess their ability at predicting knee OA worsening.Methods:116 subjects with knee OA were followed during one year with pain, function and MRI evaluation (PRODIGE study,NCT02070224). Type II collagen-specific biomarker Coll2-1 and its nitrated form Coll2-1NO2 were directly measured in serum using immunoassays at baseline and after three, six and twelve months follow-up.Results:sColl2-1 and sColl2-1NO2 were associated to several baseline knee features quantified with Whole-Organ Magnetic Resonance Imaging Score (WORMS). S-Coll2-1 was significantly correlated with bursitis (r=0.29, P<0.01), bone attrition (r=0.25, P=0.01), cysts (r=0.24, P=0.02) and cartilage (r=0.23, P=0.03) WORMS sub-scores for the whole joint as well as with the medial femorotibial joint sum score (r=0.26, P=0.01) and medial femorotibial joint cartilage (r=0.23, P=0.02). s-Coll2-1NO2 was correlated with WORMS total score (r=0.23, P=0.02), WORMS scores in the patellofemoral (r=0.23, P=0.02) and medial femorotibial compartments (r=0.21, P=0.03) and with osteophytes scores (r=0.27, P<0.01). Baseline s-Coll2-1NO2 was higher in subjects with a pain worsening (426.4 pg/mL [278.04-566.95]) as compared to non-progressors (306.84 [200.37-427.84]) over one year (AUC=0.655, P=0.015).Conclusion:Cartilage biomarkers s-Coll2-1 and s-Coll2-1NO2 are associated to several knee OA features quantified with WORMS scoring system on MRI. Serum values of Coll2-1NO2 are also associated to a worsening of target knee pain over one year. El equipo editorial de Investigación Teatral desea compartir nuestra alegría ante el gran número de lectores que consultan actualmente la revista en su versión digital: las visitas desde diferentes partes del mundo rebasan las 1,000 mensuales. A partir de su inauguración hace ya cinco años, el portal de esta publicación ha sido consultado –hasta marzo de 2019– por más de 20,000 personas. Esto no es sino muestra del interés que tiene la investigación en artes escénicas a nivel global.Iniciamos este número 15 con un texto escrito por el antropólogo Rodrigo Parrini, en colaboración con Daniel González Marín y Alfadir Luna, quienes reflexionan sobre los objetos de archivo utilizados por la compañía Teatro Línea de Sombras para producir la puesta en escena Baños Roma. Le sigue un texto de la investigadora chilena Javiera Larraín, sobre la obra Neva, del dramaturgo y director Guillermo Calderón. Este creador pertenece a lo que Larraín identifica como la nueva generación de la escena nacional chilena, con trascendencia internacional.Por otro lado, Ximena Gómez Goyzueta, de la Universidad Autónoma de Aguascalientes, hace una reflexión sobre teatralidad y metateatro en el texto dramático del teatro español barroco. Asimismo, Nidia Vincent, de la Facultad de Letras Españolas de la Universidad Veracruzana, comparte su análisis sobre una coreografía que realizó el creador español Antonio Gades con base en Bodas de sangre, de Federico García Lorca. Vincent argumenta que el coreógrafo logró hacer una paráfrasis del texto teatral para proponer un nuevo discurso basado en lo corporal, lo espacial y lo musical. También presentamos un texto del investigador colombiano Sergio Naranjo Velásquez, quien analiza la propuesta de la biomecánica de Vsévolod Meyerhold desde la perspectiva de la antropología teatral de Eugenio Barba. De esta forma, el autor recupera para los creadores escénicos del siglo XXI nociones fundamentales sobre el entrenamiento y trabajo actoral.En la sección “Documento”, está el prólogo en monólogo de La sombra de la feria, pieza de la Comedia Francesa escrita por Alain-René Lesage y Jacques Philippe d’Orneval. Se trata de un texto de 1720 que Alexis Álvarez Jácome traduce por primera vez a lengua española para nuestra revista. El prólogo funciona como una obra cómica breve que se vale de personajes de la Comedia del Arte para ofrecer claves de la situación política, histórica y social que se vivía en el momento que fue escrita.En la sección “Testimonio” incluimos el texto de Carlos Albarrán, estudiante de la Maestría en Artes Escénicas de la Universidad Veracruzana, quien nos relata su experiencia en el taller que el Workcenter de Jerzy Grotowski y Thomas Richards ofreció en la Ciudad de México el año pasado, siendo la primera visita a México que realiza este legendario Centro de trabajo fundado por Grotowski en Pontedera, Italia. Ahora, en 2019, se conmemoran 20 años del fallecimiento de Jerzy Grotowski (1933-1999), por lo que la revista Investigación Teatral se une con este testimonio a los actos que se realizan alrededor del mundo para reconocer que el legado del maestro polaco sigue vivo.Continuamos con un grupo de cinco reseñas que abordan puestas en escena y novedades editoriales de gran interés. Cierra el volumen la semblanza-homenaje que el maestro Francisco Beverido hace del actor y promotor Arturo Meseguer, fallecido prematuramente cuando se desempeñaba como director general de Difusión Cultural de la Universidad Veracruzana. Además de haber sido protagonista importante del movimiento teatral de Xalapa desde los años 70 del siglo pasado, Meseguer realizó una incansable labor en pro de la expresión cultural y artística de estudiantes y creadores emergentes a través de los Festivales de Teatro Universitario.

Background:Tildrakizumab (TIL) is a high-affinity anti–interleukin-23p19 monoclonal antibody approved in the US, EU, and Australia to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose, phase 2b study evaluating the efficacy and safety of TIL was recently completed (NCT02980692).Objectives:To characterise and evaluate the rate of minimal disease activity (MDA) up to week (W)52 from the phase 2b study.Methods:Patients (pts) ≥18 years old with active psoriatic arthritis (PsA)2and ≥3 tender and ≥3 swollen joints were randomised 1:1:1:1:1 to receive TIL 200 mg every 4 weeks (Q4W) to W52, TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52, TIL 100 mg Q12W to W52, TIL 20 mg Q12W to W24→TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52, or placebo (PBO) Q4W to W24→TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52. MDA was assessed throughout the study; an MDA response was achieved when 5 of 7 criteria were met.3Safety was assessed throughout the study and included treatment-emergent adverse event (TEAE) monitoring.Results:Of 500 pts screened, 391 were randomised and received ≥1 dose of study drug. At baseline (BL), mean age was 48.8 years, 55% were female, 97% were White, mean body mass index was 29.7 kg/m2, and pts had PsA for a median (range) of 4.4 (0–42.8) years since diagnosis. Baseline disease characteristics related to MDA varied little between study arms (Table).By W24, MDA state was achieved in significantly more pts receiving TIL vs PBO (24%–39% vs 7%; p<0.02 for all groups); the proportion further increased with continued TIL treatment to W52 (45%–64%), including pts who switched from PBO to TIL (47%) (Figure).Among the overall pt population from BL→W24/W25→W52, 50.4%/39.9% and 2.3%/1.0% experienced a TEAE and serious TEAE, respectively. From BL→W24, 1 serious infection (chronic tonsillitis) was reported for TIL 20 mg→200 mg Q12W arm. From W25→W52, there was 1 malignancy (TIL 20→200 mg Q12W). Background:Tildrakizumab (TIL), a high-affinity anti–interleukin-23p19 monoclonal antibody, is approved to treat moderate to severe plaque psoriasis and is under investigation for treatment of psoriatic arthritis (PsA).1Objectives:To evaluate efficacy and safety of TIL up to week (W)52 in a randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled, multiple-dose, phase 2b study in PsA (NCT02980692).Methods:Patients (pts) ≥18 years with active PsA2were randomised 1:1:1:1:1 to TIL 200 mg every 4 weeks (Q4W) to W52, TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52, TIL 100 mg Q12W to W52, TIL 20 mg Q12W until W24 then TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52, or placebo (PBO) Q4W until W24 then TIL 200 mg Q12W to W52. Efficacy assessments included ACR20/50/70, 75%/90%/100% improvement in Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI), proportion of pts with residual minimal disease activity (MDA) response; and mean change from baseline (BL) in HAQ-DI, Leeds Dactylitis Index (LDI, pts with BL LDI ≥1), and Leeds Enthesitis Index (LEI, pts with BL LEI ≥1) to W52. Treatment-emergent adverse events (TEAEs) were monitored.Results:Of 500 pts screened, 391 were randomised and received ≥1 dose of drug. Proportions of ACR20/50/70 responders were superior with TIL vs PBO through W24; after W24 rates of responses further increased for TIL 20→200 mg Q12W and PBO→200 mg Q12W through W52 (Figure 1, 2). Other efficacy results are shown in Table. Overall from BL→W24/W25→W52, 50.4%/39.9% and 2.3%/1.0% of pts experienced a TEAE and serious AE, respectively. From BL→W24, 1 case of pyelonephritis and urinary tract infection was reported in the TIL 100 mg Q12W arm and 1 case of chronic tonsillitis was reported in the TIL 20 mg→200 mg Q12W arm. During W25→W52, 1 malignancy (intraductal proliferative breast lesion) was reported with TIL 20 mg→200 mg Q12W. Mediante un estudio descriptivo y correlacional, se analizó la relación entre la percepción de la calidad de la gestión administrativa del director y el grado de compromiso laboral de los docentes de algunos colegios privados de El Salvador, en un contexto donde cada año los docentes renuncian a sus trabajos y pasan a laborar al sector gubernamental. Se administraron dos instrumentos, uno para medir la percepción de la gestión administrativa del director y otro para medir el grado de compromiso de los docentes, a 87 docentes de los siete colegios de las regiones metropolitana y occidental de El Salvador. Se encontró que los docentes tienen un compromiso laboral muy bueno. De igual manera, la percepción que tienen los docentes de la gestión administrativa del director es muy buena. Al observarse la correlación entre ambas variables, se determinó que es positiva y alta. Se observó que cuánto mejor perciben los docentes la gestión administrativa del director mayor es el compromiso con su trabajo. El liderazgo del director es importante para el compromiso laboral de los docentes, por lo cual su selección y nombramiento deben ser realizados con cuidadoso análisis.
