Full textAlbur is a linguistic practice largely restricted to Mexican identity and language use, constituting verbal duels of sexual double entendres. The current thesis seeks to explore how albur relates to gender, ranging from its prehispanic conception to the present day, focusing on the nature and possibility of involvement of non-male participants. To that end, literature on albur is revised, such as Johansson (2006), Lavertue (1998), Martínez García & Erdösová (2020) and Durán González (2012), as well as works exploring Mexican identity, including Paz ([1950]1996), Szasz (1998), Lagarde ([1990]2005) and Domínguez Ruvalcaba (2013). A pragmatic and sociolinguistic analysis of the practice is made on the foundations of linguistic theories regarding humor, sociolinguistic factors and feminine language use, including but not limited to; The General Theory of Verbal Humor (GTVH) developed by Attardo & Raskin (1991); sociolinguistic variety by Silva-Corvalán & Enrique-Arias (2017); the work of Diaz-Campos (2014) in regard to language, age, gender and socioeconomic status; and the finds of Alvarado Ortega concerning impoliteness and failed humor in conversations between men and women. Finally, the thesis also presents the results and analysis of a new quantitative study focused on how young Mexican university students view albur and gender relations in the present day. Almost all participants self-report understanding the discourse of albur, and people of all gender identities report practicing it. The degree of understanding and use is slightly lower in women/people of non-male gender identities, which can be explained by a lack of tradition and the negative sociolinguistic value of albur. Compared to male participants, other participants are to a greater extent viewed as a strange element; regarding positive and negative attitudes there is no strong difference towards the two. It is concluded that, today, albur should not be considered a phenomenon restricted to men, and that the inclusion of non-male participants can develop, enrich, and add humoristic value to the tradition.

Full textThe present project consists of carrying out certain investigations in order to analyze and provide solutions to a problem, which is the lack of accessibility and time for people to print their photographs. Today, the habit of physically having an album with special memories has been lost, since people prefer to upload their photos to social networks. However, research and interviews found that most people do not buy an album, because there are not many places where photos are printed at a reasonable price. For this reason, our team at the Peruvian University of Applied Sciences has determined that, if there is the intention of people to purchase an album, but that it is accessible and original for the client, according to their tastes and preferences, so, for To satisfy our target audience, personalized albums will be made with prices from S / 50 soles to S / 80 soles depending on the number of photos they want, the consumer will choose the theme for their album, the photographs will be edited by us and in different sizes , we will have a mobile application where there will be a user database, in order to choose and edit the photos of your best memories, at the end of the album it will be sent to your home. To this end, a series of investigations and experiments has been carried out, with which our proposal is supported with the problem statement, solutions and a profitable projection of the business.

Full textSummaryLANGUAGE AND PUBLIC EDUCATIONAL INSTRUMENT A PARTICULAR EDUCATIONAL NEEDElements for the training of specialized teachersThis doctoral research aims to question the way in which Option D specialized teachers - responsible for teaching and for the pedagogical support to students with significant cognitive impairment and / or pervasive developmental disorders - teach oral language. Some teachers do not know how do deal with the language development of their students and regret the lack of existing tools. However, oral language is a priority for the school institution because it guarantees good school and a good social integration. It is, therefore, important to think about an oral didactics. It is a collaborative work, included in the framework of professional didactics, supposing the constitution of a collective of voluntary teachers who agree to analyze their work with the researcher. Four teachers and twenty-six of their students participate in our research. Self-confrontation group interviews will give teachers a collective reflection on their own work and on the work of their peers. This analysis of the activity will lead to a professional introspection highlighting the lived experience that is not conscious. Thus, each teacher will be able to explain to the collective the purpose of the activity. The artifact used by the four teachers is the album Echo, an ephemeral tool based on photographs of the students in activity. These photographs echo them because each student has experienced the situation. With the support of the adult, the student will develop the vocabulary, the syntax, the pronunciation, but also the discursive aspects of language or, for some students with pervasive developmental disorders, will trigger the desire to speak. What processes are being used to move from artifact to instrument to support the language development of students with special needs? What characteristics of these interactions should be used for the training of specialized teachers?Key words: professional didactics, oral language, cognitive disorders, pervasive developmental disorders, Echo album

Considering the agronomic and market possibilities for this specie we characterized C. album populations along its biogeographical area. The results show that different seeds characteristics differ significantly between sites. We also tested the effect of pretreatments on the germination of C. album seeds (subsp. album). Seeds were collected from Duna de Quiaios in 2011, from Comporta in 2011 and Aldeia do Meco in 2011 and in 2012. The results show that there is site-to-site variation in the same year and year-to-year variation in a particular site in percentage of germinated seeds. Acid scarification (30, 60 and 120 minutes) followed by 1000 ppm of gibberellic acid was the most effective pretreatment in breaking dormancy of C. album and this pretreatment promote the best germination from seeds collected from Aldeia do Meco 2011 (30.3%) after 175 days. Our results suggest that the seeds had morphophysiological dormancy. Considering the 4600 seeds collected: 54.5% had ruptured the seed coat, 7.4% had germinated and seedling survival was 0.1%.

BOLSA NOTA 10
Album covers: ways of reading them aims to search for keys to interpret the relation between music and visual culture in the XXth century and the beginning of the XXIst. By displacing the object from a discotheque, its usual space of musical fruition, and bringing it to the cultural studies field, an infinity of possibilities come up. Covers are a very particular art form, analyzing them is central to understand the different forms in which their mechanisms operate. Music on the other hand, is a very important instrument to apprehend visual culture in a broader way. This work uses tools from the art history field and other interdisciplinary analytic devices to explore images and their strength. The central argument of this thesis asserts that album covers contribute to the construction of a musical meaning by enriching the esthetic process of the listener. The 1950s were essential to establish the album cover as primary element for the record. It was also in the 50s that visual artists and photographers penetrated the record company markets selling their talents and experimenting innovative visual layouts. In other words: the creativity of some cover artists opened new paths and enabled new conceptions for the album cover artwork. This work seeks to show that album covers were a notorious and fertile place of expression for photographers and visual artists to express themselves in a large scale. This thesis aims to understand the album cover beyond a simple illustration, and to grasp it not just as a packaging or design piece, but mainly as an artistic object, as important as the content itself. This work focuses on two aspects that complement themselves. On one hand, we analyze the record cover as a field of artistic experimentation, that is, a support for many visual artists and photographers to work on. On the other hand, that complements this same field, a reflection is made on the cover as a support for the portrait of the subject, in the restrict sense of the portrait, that aims to establish ties with the secular pictorial genre.

Full textThe album Odalisque by the indie rock band Sanglorians is the culmination of many years of deep personal, artistic, and technical work. Many aspects of the composition, arrangement, performance, and recording of the project album were widely influenced by the methodologies espoused within the Master of Music program in Commercial Music Composition and Arranging at California State University, Los Angeles. This project report explores these methodologies of commercial music composition as they were applied to each song during the songwriting, arranging, and production processes. Approached as a scholarly personal narrative manuscript, each song's genesis is sourced, and its meaning examined in proper creative context within the whole.

Full textThe purpose of this thesis is to examine the usability of the Umeå University library catalogue Album. The aim is to evaluate the catalogue in order to establish if there are any problems that could be solved by modifying the catalogue. The following questions are answered: How should a good catalogue be designed? Which problems are common when using a library catalogue? Is Album user friendly? Are there any problems that occur when using Album and how can the catalogue be changed to avoid the problems? To answer these questions I have performed a usability test in which five persons, all students, got to carry out twenty tasks in the catalogue and talk about what they were doing and thinking while doing the test. This method is a usability method called Think Aloud. After the test the users got to answer twenty interview questions about the catalogue. The material obtained from the test was analyzed and positive factors, problems and courses of action were picked out. The results of the study show that the hardest thing for the users is to perform subject searches. It is not clear what subject and classification is and the users don’t know how to search the Index. They also think it’s hard to know in which fields to search and which words to use. In this thesis I give suggestions to things that could be changed in Album to make it more user friendly and easy to use. Although there are some problems with the catalogue, the overall impression of Album seems to be positive among the users.

This thesis has as its objective the 1914 Album Gráfico de Matto Grosso ( Graphic Album of Matto Grosso) and the dense process involved in its production, circulation, reprintings and uses. For the research to be initiated it was necessary to access the Policy of Advertisement in Brazil, which started being worked on in the Imperial times with Brazil participating in International expositions, and received a more coherent format on the Republic times with the creation of the Serviço de Propaganda do Brasil (Advertisement Service of Brazil) in 1907. It was in the context of producing advertisement that we can find incentive and production of printings, among them the Álbuns. This luxurious typographical product in fashion in the end of the IX and beginning of the XX centuries, was characterised by the intense use of photographies which present marks of the modernisation process in the cities and information about the potentiality of the States as strategies to incentivate the entrance of immigrants and capital. In order to situate the object of the thesis, the Album Graphico do MattoGrosso in the group of other similar albums, a collection of 17 albums from the Amazonas and Pará States and from the Acre territory was used. These States also lived through economic euphoria when facing possibilities of exporting forest products, enhancing the rubber material. This collection of the States Albums was here denominated as Rede de Album do Brasil Sertao ( Brazil Hinterland Albums Net). It's objective was to change the stigma of these States being the dwelling places of barbáries and unmanageable natural spaces, spreading this new concept to faraway locations. It was in the Policy of Advertisement and in the Album Net contexts that this thesis was contextualised for the further development of questions in reference to their creation, production, reprinting and uses processes
