Abstract:

The article aims to provide a semantic explication of the Mexican albur, a fight of words, and the discursive practices that it involves. Albur is described here as a cultural phenomenon, a social practice, a speech act, and a linguistic behaviour. Traditional theories of humour are considered inadequate for its description (they are characterised by a multiplicity of categories, vague criteria, and excessive descriptiveness). The author proposes to use the ethnopragmatic approach, with its cultural scripts, i.e. cultural norms, attitudes and background knowledge, common to a given community and reflected in language.

Abstract:

La palabra ‘albur’ deriva del árabe hispánico ‘albúri’, usado para designar al pez mújol. Sin embargo, este significado parece no tener relación con el que actualmente se le da en México. Para identificar la razón de esta aparente disociación, este artículo reconstruye la evolución semántica del término con base en un análisis del Corpus del Español del Siglo XXI, el Corpus del Nuevo Diccionario Histórico del Español y el Mapa de diccionarios académicos de la Real Academia Española. Asimismo, se explican las transformaciones del significado de acuerdo con los postulados de Guiraud y Campbell. El estudio de este fenómeno del lenguaje demuestra que en México, debido a su importancia en la cultura popular, el uso de la palabra ‘albur’ para denominar un juego de palabras con doble sentido va ganando preferencia y ha desplazado a los otros.

Abstract:

El presente artículo define la esgrima conversacional como una tradición discursiva que aparece en la copla folklórica, la literatura y el cine mexicano en la primera mitad del siglo XX. Tal tradición discursiva es atravesada por una tradición verbal popular que abreva del refrán, del albur y de otros usos indirectos del lenguaje. Pragmáticamente, la esgrima conversacional es evocada en una situación en la que los hablantes tienen una relación simétrica o de cercanía y están dispuestos a una interacción verbal en la que el tono de afrenta o donaire prevalece. Esta tradición discursiva respondería a la búsqueda de un triunfo simbólico que garantiza la subsistencia social, pero a su vez es parte de un legado histórico e idiomático del español de México.

Abstract:

A Gram-positive, non-motile, coccoid-shaped, non-spore-forming halophilic bacterial strain, BY-5T, was isolated from a marine solar saltern in Korea and its taxonomic position was investigated by using a polyphasic approach. The novel strain grew optimally at 37 °C and in the presence of 10 % (w/v) NaCl. Strain BY-5T had meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid in the cell-wall peptidoglycan, MK-7 as the predominant menaquinone and anteiso-C15 : 0, iso-C15 : 0, anteiso-C17 : 0 and iso-C17 : 0 as the major fatty acids. The DNA G+C content was 47.9 mol%. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain BY-5T formed a coherent cluster with Bacillus halophilus and Marinococcus albus. Strain BY-5T exhibited 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity values of 98.7 and 97.4 % to the type strains of B. halophilus and M. albus, respectively. Strain BY-5T was distinguished from B. halophilus and M. albus by several phenotypic properties and DNA–DNA relatedness data. On the basis of the combined chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic data, it is proposed that M. albus, B. halophilus and strain BY-5T should be placed in a new genus as three separate species. Marinococcus albus and Bacillus halophilus are reclassified in a new genus, Salimicrobium gen. nov., as Salimicrobium album comb. nov. and Salimicrobium halophilum comb. nov., respectively. The type species of the new genus is Salimicrobium album. Strain BY-5T (=KCTC 3989T=CIP 108918T) is placed in the genus Salimicrobium as a novel species Salimicrobium luteum sp. nov.

Abstract:

El presente trabajo tiene dos enfoques como variables relacionadas. Por una parte, está el hecho de resaltar la importancia de la operacionalización de la Matriz de Consistencia del Problema de Investigación (MACPI) de tipo aplicado, expresando en el problema general las variables tanto independiente como dependiente, como en los problemas específicos los indicadores de las mismas variables; ello en razón de que ya en el planteamiento se parte por sistematizar el marco teórico, porque es necesario tener referencias sobre el tema a tratar. Como segundo aspecto está el hecho de relacionar esta variable con una realidad que se prueba, de modo que la investigación-acción como tipo de investigación no tiene aplicabilidad conceptual eficaz en la ciencia jurídica, porque redunda en el sentido de que, teniendo un diseño como los pre-experimentos y sobre la base de un marco teórico conocido, aplica soluciones sistemáticamente establecidas como una hipótesis delineada a fin de validarse. Así, ya no tendría base de sustentación la investigación-acción basada en diagnósticos y que no tiene hipótesis definidas, como tampoco una adecuada organización de bases teóricas, dejando casi al albur la solución a la problemática. Es pertinente recalcar que en el campo de las ciencias jurídicas no es usual, dejando esta incidencia en las ciencias de la educación, pero resaltando que la I-A nace y se sustenta justamente para las ciencias fácticas.Palabras clave: Matriz de Consistencia del Problema de Investigación (MACPI), investigación-acción, pre-experimentos.

Abstract:

Claims of effective therapy against diabetes using plants including Peganum harmala L., Zygophyllum album, Anacyclus valentinus L., Ammodaucus leucotrichus, Lupinus albus, and Marrubium vulgare in Algerian empirical medicine prompted our interest in evaluating their antidiabetic activity by screening their free radical scavenging (DPPH), α-glucosidase, and nitric oxide (NO) inhibitory activities as well as the total phenolic content (TPC). Extracts of the selected plants were prepared using different ratios of ethanol (0, 50, 80, and 100%). In this study, 100%, and 80% ethanol extracts of L. albus were found to be the most potent, in inhibiting α-glucosidase activity with IC50 values of 6.45 and 8.66 μg/mL, respectively. The 100% ethanol extract of A. leucotrichus exhibited the highest free radical scavenging activity with an IC50 value of 26.26 μg/mL. Moreover, the highest TPC of 612.84 μg GAE/mg extract was observed in M. vulgare, extracted with 80% ethanol. Metabolite profiling of the active extract was conducted using 1H-NMR metabolomics. Partial least square analysis (PLS) was used to assess the relationship between the α-glucosidase inhibitory activity of L. albus and the metabolites identified in the extract. Based on the PLS model, isoflavonoids (lupinoisoflavone G, lupisoflavone, lupinoisolone C), amino acids (asparagine and thiamine), and several fatty acids (stearic acid and oleic acid) were identified as metabolites that contributed to the inhibition of α-glucosidase activity. The results of this study have clearly strengthened the traditional claim of the antihyperglycemic effects of L. albus.

Abstract:

This research focuses on analyzing the use of translation techniques and the naturalness of the translated lyrics. The objectives of the study were to investigate the translation techniques used to translate song lyrics and to identify the naturalness in translated lyrics of Adele's 25 album songs. This research was done qualitatively. This research applied the translation technique classification proposed by Molina and Albir (2002:509-511) and the naturalness assessment proposed by Nababan (2012). Data analysis was done by comparing the original language and the translated lyrics version to find out the most used of translation techniques. The rater survey was also done by asking 20 respondents to find out the naturalness level of the translated lyrics. The results of the study showed that there were 276 data of the translated lyrics and 11 translation techniques found in this research. Literal translation technique was the most frequent used, followed by Linguistic compression. Some other translation techniques were used moderately such as, Established equivalent, reduction, and discursive creation. The rest techniques were used in low frequency such as modulation, amplification, compensation, linguistic amplification, transposition, and particularization. In terms of naturalness assessed by twenty respondents found that around 61.95% of the data were considered natural translation, 28.80% were less natural and 9.23% were unnatural. The translation techniques with the highest naturalness were Linguistic amplification technique with a percentage 68.18%, particularization was contributing most to less natural translation with percentage 45%, and the transposition technique was contributing most to unnatural translation with percentage 23%. From the data, it can be concluded that the translated lyrics of Adele's 25 album were mostly natural. Keywords: Song; Lyric; Translation Techniques; Naturalness

En las librerías del mundo, la sección de libros álbum o álbumes ilustrados (picture books, livre d´image, bilderbücher) ha crecido considerablemente en las últimas décadas, sin embargo son confundidos todavía con los cuentos ilustrados, con los cómics, o con las novelas gráficas a pesar de tener 171 años de existencia. Las imágenes son los elementos principales en los libros álbum, son las que establecen la narrativa, ellas conducen a los lectores por el relato mismo. Pueden ser ilustraciones o fotografías, con o sin secuencia sintáctica, incluso con un texto que les acompaña para complementar o contraponer lo que se dice, pero jamás para ilustrarlo. En este tipo de libros es evidente la presencia del arte, el diseño y de la tecnología desde sus orígenes hasta nuestros días.

Abstract:

Kulit album mempunyai pelbagai fungsi pada sesebuah karya seni muzik. Reka bentuk kulit album yang menarik mampu menarik pelanggan untuk membuat pilihan ketika membeli produk tersebut. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan grafik dan muzik terhadap empat buah kulit album Zainal Abidin iaitu album Hijau, Gamal, Orak Arek dan Terangsang. Sememangnya tidak dapat dinafikan bahawa reka bentuk kulit album telah banyak mengalami perubahan dari pelbagai aspek mengikut perkembangan industri muzik. Pelbagai teknik reka bentuk digunakan untuk menyampaikan mesej berhubung kait dengan genre album tersebut. Kajian kes dalam kaedah kualitatif ini menggunakan teknik pemerhatian dan fotografi terhadap empat buah kulit album Zainal Abidin sebagai artis pop yang terkenal dengan keunikan lagunya di Malaysia. Data yang dikumpul telah dianalisis dan dinilai dari segi grafik berdasarkan tiga elemen iaitu warna, visual dan tipografi yang digunakan manakala, dari segi muzik pula dilihat dari elemen ritma, bunyi dan lirik lagu dalam album itu. Analisis kulit album ini juga dibuat berlandaskan pendekatan semiotik sosial komunikasi visual oleh Van Leeuwen dalam menjelaskan makna di sebalik reka bentuk kulit album yang disampaikan. Hasil kajian menunjukkan hubungkait antara grafik dan muzik pada keempat-empat kulit album yang dijadikan kajian kes ini. Oleh hal demikian, hubungan antara reka bentuk grafik dan album muzik tidak dapat dipisahkan untuk menghasilkan kulit album yang berkualiti di samping menyampaikan maklumat komunikasi dengan berkesan. Azken urteetan asko azpimarratu da Interneten bilatzaile orokorrek eskubide honen gain sortzen dituzten arriskuak. Arrisku hauetariko bat da behin pertsona bati buruzko informazioa sarean jasota informazio hori epe luzerako geratuko dela Interneten eta bilatzaileen bitartez informazio hori beti jarriko dela harremanetan bere jabearekin. Bilatzaileek pertsona bat informazio batekin lotzera kondenatzen dute eta egitate horrek kalteak sor ditzake, batez ere aurkitzen diren datuen edukia negatiboa denean. Hain zuzen, bilatzaileek sor ditzaketen kalteak ekiditeko ≪Interneten ahaztua izateko eskubidea≫ aurrezagutu da. Eskubide honi buruz asko eztabaidatu da azken urteetan, batez ere Europar Batasuneko Justizi Auzitegiak bere existentzia onartu zuenetik. Hain zuzen, eskubide honen edukia aztertu nahi da lan honetan. RESUMEN: El derecho fundamental a la proteccion de datos de caracter personal constituye una facultad en constante revision. Esta revision se produce al albur de la continua evolucion de las nuevas tecnologias. En los ultimos anos se han subrayado de manera especial los riesgos que producen los buscadores que se utilizan en Internet para encontrar informacion. Entre estos riesgos cabe subrayar el hecho de que cuando una informacion se incluye en Internet esta queda a disposicion de los usuarios y el que a traves de los buscadores esa informacion se pondra en relacion constantemente con el titular de la misma. Los buscadores condenan a que una persona quede vinculada perpetuamente a una informacion y esta circunstancia puede producir graves perjuicios, sobre todo cuando el contenido de la informacion es negativo. Precisamente, para evitar estos perjuicios se reconoce el denominado derecho al olvido en Internet. Se ha discutido mucho en torno a este derecho, sobre todo a partir de que el Tribunal de Justicia de la Union Europea reconociera expresamente su existencia. Es el contenido de este derecho el que se va a analizar en este trabajo. ABSTRACT: The fundamental right to the personal data protection is a faculty in permanent revision. This revision is at the mercy of the continuous development of new technologies. Last years the risks produced by the search engines which are used to find information have especially been emphasized. Among the risks it can be emphasized the fact that when an information is included in internet it remains at the user’s disposal and that by means of the search engines that information will constantly put in relation with the holder of it. Search engines condemn a person to be perpetually linked to an information and that circumstance can produce serious harm, especially when the content of that information is negative. Exactly, in order to avoid those damages it is been acknowledged the right to forget in Internet, There has been a lot of discussion about this right, especially after the European Court of Justice recognized specifically its existence. The content of that right will be analyzed in this work.

Abstract:

Background The antitumoral efficacy of aqueous Viscum album extracts is attributed to the presence of lectins and viscotoxins. However, previous studies demonstrated an antitumoral activity of European V. album ethanolic homeopathic tinctures (VAHT) prepared according to homeopathic methodology. Aims To investigate the seasonal influences (summer and winter) in the metabolomic profile of V. album ssp. homeopathic mother tinctures (VAHT) and to evaluate the antitumoral activity of some VAHT in 3D tumor spheroid models. Methodology The following VAHT were prepared by ethanolic maceration: V. album ssp. album growing on Malus domestica, Quercus sp. and Ulmus sp.; V. album ssp. austriacum from Pinus sylvestris; V. album ssp. abietis from Abies alba. Chemical analyses were performed using liquid chromatography coupled to high-resolution mass spectrometry. Data was submitted to multivariate statistical analysis using principal component analysis (PCA) and Partial Least Squares Discriminant Analysis (PLSDA) in Metaboanalyst platform. The antitumor potential of VAHT (0.5% v/v) was conducted in 3D tumor spheroid models (MDA-MB-231 cell line) by MTT for 72 hours. Results and discussion The PCA analysis explained 40% of data variation and clustered VAHT samples into 3 groups, emphasizing the chemical similarity between the botanical subspecies of V. album. Some key compounds were mainly responsible for this separation: pinobankasin hexose-pentose (V. album ssp. abietis); citric acid (V. album ssp. austriacum); malic acid (V. album ssp. album). Abstract:

Chenopodium album sensu stricto belonging to C. album aggregate is an annual cosmopolitan weed displaying the diversity of morphologies. We completed the six chloroplast genomes of C. album s. str. collected in Korea to understand the relationship between the diversity of chloroplast genomes and their morphological variations. All six C. album chloroplast genomes have a typical quadripartite structure with length ranging from 151,906 bp to 152,199 bp, similar to the previously sequenced C. album chloroplast genome (NC_034950). In total, 56 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and 26 insertion and deletion (INDEL) regions (308 bp in total) were identified from the six chloroplast genomes, presenting a low level of intraspecific variations in comparison to the other angiosperm species. 376 normal simple sequence repeats were identified in all seven C. album chloroplast genomes. The phylogenetic analysis based on all available complete Amaranthaceae chloroplast genomes presents phylogenetic positions of six C. album samples as well as correlation with one of C. album morphological features. Our results provide the way to investigate intraspecific features of C. album chloroplast genomes and also the insights of understanding various intraspecific characteristics including morphological features.
