Abstract:

Bio-Alcamid is a non-FDA approved permanent dermal filler with a few known adverse effects including granuloma formation at injection site, skin infections, abscess and painful inflammation. Embolization of Bio-Alcamid has not been reported and likely represents a very rare complication. We present the case of a thirty-one-year-old female who presents with cough, dyspnea, hemoptysis, fever, and pleuritic chest pain several hours after receiving Bio-Alcamid gluteal injections. The patient’s symptoms progress rapidly and, within three days, she develops acute respiratory failure requiring intuba

Abstract Bio-Alcamid (Polymekon Research, Brindisi, Italy) is a permanent soft tissue filler that has been injected for the correction of contour deformities. It has a number of indications, including pectus excavatum. Infection and migration seem to be the most common complications with this product. The authors report an illustrative case of pectus excavatum deformity treated with Bio-Alcamid. Results highlight the successful treatment of gel migration with liposuction, which has not been recommended by the manufacturer nor reported in the literature to date.

In this paper, the feasibility of inhibitor auxiliary re-alkalization was investigated. The effect of realkalization auxiliary inhibitor repair technique was studied by simulative experiment. It studied the changes of electrochemical parameters of the natural carbonated reinforced concrete during the electrochemical realkalization in 1mol/L Na2CO3 solution and the mixed solution of 1mol/L Na2CO3 and 1 mol/L DMEA , as well as the impedance spectroscopy and polarization curves in the process of relaxation. While the world growth in PVC consumption continues (currently ~35 million tonnes per annum), its poor thermal stability, remains an issue due to restrictions on the use of stabilizers containing heavy metals such as lead. The bands which appear in the Raman spectra of PVC samples after thermal degradation at around 1100 and 1500 cm-1, are the result of a resonance Raman effect.
