OBJECTIVE: Determine factors that affect the performance of pharmacist based on motivation theory.
METHOD: A systematic review was conducted to explore that affect factors an employee's performance, especially a pharmacist. Electronic databases used to identify relevant studies to the affecting factors such performance were Science Direct, PUBMED, UGM Library (Dissertation) and Google Scholar. The search terms used are “pharmacist performance”, “performance-affecting factors for pharmacist”, “pharmacist performance optimization”, and “performance motivation”. This study was limited to English and Indonesian language only and publication years from 2000 to 2016. Electronic search database found 50 articles while only six studies meet the eligibility criteria to serve as the basis for determining the performance of the pharmacist.
RESULTS: Pharmacist performance was influenced by five factors: organization and environment, social order, resources owned, pharmacist characteristics, and regulation. These five variables are considered by the Alderfer ERG theory of Existence, Relatedness, and Growth.
CONCLUSION: Performance for pharmacists should be emphasized with systemic supports for pharmaceutical practice changes to succeed on a wide scale and devote to producing a good performance.

According to Alderfer's ERG Theory (Existence-Relatedness-Growth Theory), which is known as “ERG” theory in the literature, people have three basic needs. These needs are "Existence", "Relationship" and "Development". The International Istanbul Kodaly Training Days, the second of which is held in 2019, can be described as a vocational training in a sense. In this study; According to Alderfer's ERG Theory, the extent to which the needs of music teachers to improve themselves in their profession was met by attending Kodaly training days was investigated. With the ERG Theory of Alderfer, professional professional needs of teachers and Kodaly training days are in a positive and direct relationship. The research was carried out with a relational research model, which is one of the descriptive research models, and it was aimed to determine the level of professional satisfaction of the music educators who participated in the Kodaly Training Days and to examine them in terms of some variables. As a result of the study, it was seen that there was a significant difference between the pre-test and post-test scores of the participants' professional satisfaction scale. As a result, it can be said that International Kodaly Training Days increase the professional satisfaction of the participants.

It creates interest which in turn encourages researchers to know more about how motivation for human needs is presented by the Harvest Moon Back to Nature video game. This research fundamentally use interpretative analytical descriptive method with narrative approach. Using a view from ERG theory Alderfer, which according to him motivation is related to basic human needs which consist of existence needs, relatedness needs, and growth needs.. From the results of the research conducted using these instruments, it can be concluded that the power of motivation has been presented in the Harvest Moon Back to Nature video game from the fulfillment of existence needs, relatedness needs, and growth needs, both in the context events of farming, raising, and in carrying out other events.

The discovery of soft X-rays from Nova GQ Mus with the EXOSAT satellite has added an important channnel to the observational information on classical novae during the outburst stage (Ögelman, Beuermann, and Krautter 1984). With peak luminosities in excess of 1038 erg s−1 and total liberated energies of more than 1045 erg, novae constitute the second most energetic outburst phenomena in the galactic population exceeded only by supernovae (see Gallagher and Starrfield, 1978; Truran, 1982 for a review of the observations and theory). Regardless of the details of the outburst, objects of the size of white dwarfs (~ 109 cm) radiating close to Eddington luminosities (~ 1038 erg s−1 ) should emit soft X-rays provided that the envelope is sufficiently transparent. In addition, the ejected shell, moving at velocities around 1000 km s−1, is capable of shocking the circumstellar medium to X-ray temperatures.

This study, which explores student attitudes to online learning, is based on a psychoanalytic theory (Existence-relatedness-growth, ERG) on relatedness and growth, developed by American psychologist Clayton Alderfer. The purpose of the study was to examine whether online learning is merely a short-term temporary solution necessitated by the COVID-19 crisis, or will it enable a transformation of teaching and learning patterns in educational systems in the post-COVID era? What is students’ personal preference regarding online learning after having inadvertently experienced it? What dimension of online teaching was meaningful for them: social presence, instructional-cognitive presence, emotional-personal presence? The research population consisted of 306 students, with a mean age of 15.5. Only 85% of the students who participated in the study had technological resources for online learning at home. About 41% of the students preferred lessons that combine online teaching with frontal teaching in the classroom. In addition, the dimensions of online teaching reported by students as meaningful were, in descending order, social presence, emotionalpersonal presence, and instructional-cognitive presence. The research findings might have an effect on policy makers in education with regard to maintaining an "innovative pedagogy" aimed at shaping students’ image in order to prepare them for the new post-COVID era. In this period of global crisis, online learning afforded students innovative learning, where students enhanced their awareness of the significance of social presence, which was more meaningful than the dimension of instructional-cognitive presence. The significance of interpersonal interaction in teaching and learning received support, more so than ever before.

Maslow's Theories of Needs, with the pyramid of human needs, are approached, thus addressing the scale of the 5 human needs hierarchized by the author; Herzberg's Theory of Two Factors, which addresses the Hygienic factors, which are the factors of the work environment, and Motivational, which are the internal factors of the human being that are related to the individual’s internal motivation to perform their activities; Alderfer's ERG Theory in which human motivation is divided into 3 categories: Existence, Relationship and Growth; McGregor's Theory X and Y, in which are considered antagonistic human behaviors, as man hates to work, in the case of theory X, and by the theory Y the human being is endeavored and likes to have an activity; and the Theory of Vroom Expectation, which reports on the motivation of human expectation, in which he argues that the human being accomplishes something through an expectation, aiming to achieve a goal. We compute the number counts of clusters of galaxies, the logN-logS relation, in several X-ray and submm bands on the basis of the Press—Schechter theory (Kitayama et al. 1998). We pay particular attention to a set of theoretical models which well reproduce the ROSAT 0.5–2 keV band logN-logS (Ebeling et al. 1997; Rosati et al. 1997), and explore possibilities to further constrain the models from future observations with ASCA and/or at submm bands. The latter is closely related to the European PLANCK mission and the Japanese LMSA project. We exhibit that one can break the degeneracy in an acceptable parameter region on the Ω0–σ8 plane by combining the ROSAT logN-logS and the submm number counts. Models which reproduce the ROSAT band logN-logS will have N(> S) ∼ (150–300)(S/10−12 erg cm−2 s−) −1.3 str−1 at S ≳ 10−12 erg cm−2 s−1 in the ASCA 2–10 keV band, and N(> Sv) ∼ (102–104)(Sv/100 mJy)−1.5 str−1 at Sv ≳ 100m J y in the submm (0.85mm) band. The amplitude of the logN-logS is very sensitive to the model parameters in the submm band. We also compute the redshift evolution of the cluster number counts and compare with that of the X-ray brightest Abell-type clusters (Ebeling et al. 1996). The results, although still preliminary, point to low density (Ω0 ∼ 0.3) universes. The contribution of clusters to the X-ray and submm background radiations is shown to be insignificant in any model compatible with the ROSAT logN-logS.

ABSTRACT While theory and simulations indicate that galaxy mergers play an important role in the cosmological evolution of accreting black holes and their host galaxies, samples of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) in galaxies at close separations are still small. In order to increase the sample of AGN pairs, we undertook an archival project to investigate the X-ray properties of an SDSS-selected sample of 32 galaxy pairs with separations ≤150 kpc containing one optically identified AGN, which were serendipitously observed by XMM–Newton. We discovered only one X-ray counterpart among the optically classified non-active galaxies, with a weak X-ray luminosity (≃ 5 × 1041 erg s−1). 59 per cent (19 out of 32) of the AGNs in our galaxy pair sample exhibit an X-ray counterpart, covering a wide range in absorption-corrected X-ray luminosity (5 × 1041–2 × 1044 erg s−1). More than 79 per cent of these AGNs are obscured (column density NH > 1022 cm−2), with more than half thereof (i.e. about 47 per cent of the total AGN sample) being Compton-thick. AGN/no-AGN pairs are therefore more frequently X-ray obscured (by a factor ≃1.5) than isolated AGNs. When compared to a luminosity and redshift-matched sample of bona fide dual AGN, AGN/no-AGN pairs exhibit one order-of-magnitude lower X-ray column density in the same separation range (>10 kpc). A small sample (4 objects) of AGN/no-AGN pairs with sub-pc separation is all heavily obscured, driving a formal anticorrelation between the X-ray column density and the galaxy pair separation in these systems. These findings suggest that the galactic environment has a key influence on the triggering of nuclear activity in merging galaxies.

Aims. Recently, new debates about the role of layers of strong shear have emerged in stellar dynamo theory. Further information on the long-term magnetic activity of fully convective stars could help determine whether their underlying dynamo could sustain activity cycles similar to the solar one. Methods. We performed a thorough study of the short- and long-term magnetic activity of the young active dM4 star Gl 729. First, we analyzed long-cadence K2 photometry to characterize its transient events (e.g., flares) and global and surface differential rotation. Then, from the Mount Wilson S-indexes derived from CASLEO spectra and other public observations, we analyzed its long-term activity between 1998 and 2020 with four different time-domain techniques to detect cyclic patterns. Finally, we explored the chromospheric activity at different heights with simultaneous measurements of the Hα and the Na I D indexes, and we analyzed their relations with the S-Index. Results. We found that the cumulative flare frequency follows a power-law distribution with slope ~−0.73 for the range 1032–1034 erg. We obtained Prot = (2.848 ± 0.001) days, and we found no evidence of differential rotation. We also found that this young active star presents a long-term activity cycle with a length of about 4 yr; there is less significant evidence of a shorter cycle of 0.8 yr. The star also shows a broad activity minimum between 1998 and 2004. We found a correlation between the S index, on the one hand, and the Hα the Na I D indexes, on the other hand, although the saturation level of these last two indexes is not observed in the Ca lines. Conclusions. Because the maximum-entropy spot model does not reflect migration between active longitudes, this activity cycle cannot be explained by a solar-type dynamo. It is probably caused by an α2-dynamo.

ABSTRACT Cosmic ray (CR) sources leave signatures in the isotopic abundances of CRs. Current models of Galactic CRs that consider supernovae (SNe) shocks as the main sites of particle acceleration cannot satisfactorily explain the higher 22Ne/20Ne ratio in CRs compared to the interstellar medium. Although stellar winds from massive stars have been invoked, their contribution relative to SNe ejecta has been taken as a free parameter. Here, we present a theoretical calculation of the relative contributions of wind termination shocks (WTSs) and SNe shocks in superbubbles, based on the hydrodynamics of winds in clusters, the standard stellar mass function, and stellar evolution theory. We find that the contribution of WTSs towards the total CR production is at least $25{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$, which rises to $\gtrsim 50{{\ \rm per\ cent}}$ for young (≲10 Myr) clusters, and explains the observed 22Ne/20Ne ratio. We argue that since the progenitors of apparently isolated supernovae remnants (SNRs) are born in massive star clusters, both WTS and SNe shocks can be integrated into a combined scenario of CRs being accelerated in massive clusters. This scenario is consistent with the observed ratio of SNRs to γ-ray bright (Lγ ≳ 1035 erg s−1) star clusters, as predicted by star cluster mass function. Moreover, WTSs can accelerate CRs to PeV energies, and solve other long-standing problems of the standard SN paradigm of CR acceleration.

AbstractIt is shown here that the peculiar properties of AE Aqr can can be accounted for if the mass transfer from an evolved 0.7M⊙ secondary K4-5 star (qi ≈ 0.8, i.e. < 1) initiated when the orbital period of the binary was Porb,i ≈ 8.5 hours and the white dwarf period P*,i ≈ 1 hour. This resulted in a significant amount of orbital angular momentum being accreted by the white dwarf in an initial discless spin-up phase towards P* ≈ 0.1 Porb,i. This destabilized the mass transfer, resulting in a run-away mass transfer from the secondary that lasted for approximately 104 years, with the orbital period evolving to Porb ≈ 11 hours until a critical mass ratio of qcrit = 0.73 had been reached. In this phase the mass transfer from the secondary occurred at a rapid rate of approximately Ṁ2 ≈ 1020 g s-1, resulting in an accretion disc which spun-up the white dwarf to a period of approximately P* ≈ 33 s. For all q ≤ qcrit = 0.73 the mass transfer proceeded on the thermal time scale of the secondary star, i.e. at a much slower rate, resulting in the binary converging and forcing AE Aqr into the propeller phase. Applying stellar wind theory, this allow an estimate of the polar magnetic field of the secondary star, which is of the order of B° ≈ (1600 – 2000) G. It has been shown here that the duration of mass transfer phase q = qcrit → 0.67 (now) lasted for approximately tṀ2 ~ 107 years, similar to the spin-down time scale of the white dwarf, tsd = P*/P* ≈ 107 years. The propeller ejection of matter in the current phase results in the dissipation of mhd power of Lmhd ≈ 1034 erg s-1, probably channeled into mass ejection and non-thermal activity. This explains the non-thermal outbursts that are observed in radio wavelengths, and occasionally also in TeV energies, from AE Aqr.

Two types of propagating gravitational effects, from the mass redistribution within the Earth due to a large earthquake, are investigated: (i) the velocity of the change of the Newtonian potential field; and (ii) the gravitational luminosity of the seismic source. The mass redistribution caused by an earthquake and the resulting change in the gravitational potential field is computed through application of geophysical dislocation theory. The global mass redistribution is postulated to be progressive, starting at the instant (and location) of the nucleation of the earthquake fault rupture, and then spreading globally at the velocities of various seismic waves. Information about the changes of the gravitational potential is postulated to travel at the velocity of light. Superconducting gravimeters (SG) can resolve changes of the order of 10 nGal, i.e., (109 cm/s2) (1 Gal = 0.001 0197g), sufficient to detect the changes in the potential field. The time difference between observation of the change of the potential field and the arrival of the primary seismic wave from the earthquake would allow a crude estimation of the velocity of the gravitational effect. A preliminary search for the preseismic gravitational signal using an SG has given inconclusive results, primarily due to the limitations of the spline curve fitting methods. Despite this, we suggest that the observation of preseismic gravitational potential changes should be feasible, with the existing array of SGs in the Global Geodynamics Project (GGP) network, and by detectors designed to observe gravitational radiation (e.g., the Laser Interferometer Gravitational-wave Observatory (LIGO)). We have used published values of the changes in the Earth's inertia tensor due to the Alaska earthquake of 1964 to estimate the magnitude of the metric perturbation of the gravitational wave produced by such an earthquake. All organizations, whether they produce services or products have people in the process. Further, the organizations ability to have motivated employees will determine the success of failure of that organization (Bergmann & Scarpello, 2001). Here the study focuses on motivation as one of the most important factors that may contribute to employee performance has been examined in relation to banking sector in Mongolia. It will be observed in this study what is the most important factors that motivate employees are, respectively, “Existence Needs”, “Relatedness Needs” and “Growth Needs” by ERG motivation theory Alderfer. Even though the priority of these needs differ from person to person, Alderfer’s ERG theory prioritises in terms of the categories’ concreteness. The main objective of this study was to “assess the role of motivation of the middle and lower level employees” in banking sector of Mongolia. The survey was designed to get answers on what they consider the best factors that could motivate them as future employees motivation. The analysis of the results showed that job satisfaction is the most matched.

The consequences of the restructuring of higher education in South Africa have not yet been thoroughly investigated. This study investigates the impact of the abovementioned restructuring on employee motivation (as measured by Alderfer’s ERG theory), organisational commitment and job performance. The results show that the respondents exhibit low levels of organisational commitment and low satisfaction with monetary remuneration and fringe benefits. The results, however, show high levels of satisfaction with growth factors, peer relations and performance intentions. These results are interpreted in the light of the multiple regression analyses conducted of the interrelationships among the variables. Opsomming Die nagevolge van die herkonstruksie van hër-onderwys in Suid-Afrika is nog nie deeglik ondersoek nie. Hierdie studie ondersoek die invloed wat bogenoemde rekonstruksie op die motivering (soos gemeet deur Alderfer se teorie), organisatories toegewydheid en werksprestasie van werknemers het. Die resultate toon dat die respondente lae vlakke van organisatoriese toegewydheid en lae tevredenheid ten opsigte van monetêre beloning en byvoordele tentoonstel. Die resultate toon egter hoë vlakke van tevredenheid in soverre groeifaktore, kollegiale verhoudinge en werkprestasievoornemens betref. Hierdie resultate word vertolk teen die agtergrond van veelvoudige regressie-analises wat op die inderlinge verwantskappe tussen die veranderlikes uitgevoer is.

This study investigates the relationship between medical ethical dilemma and employee loyalty in the private hospitals in Bori-Ogoni, Rivers State.The study used deontological theory of ethics and Alderfer ERG theory of employee loyalty. The quasi-experimental design was used. The population of this study consists of 210 workers in private hospitals in Bori-Ogoni. The sample size of 140 was determined using Taro Yame sample size determination method. The primary data and secondary sources of data collection were used. The formulated hypotheses were tested using the Spearman Rank Oder Correlation coefficient analysis. The study revealed that is a significant relationship between medical ethical dilemma and medical decisions and employee loyalty in private hospitals in Bori- Ogoni. Therefore, we concluded that there is a strong significant relationship between medical ethical dilemma and medical decisions and employee loyalty in private hospitals in Bori- Ogoni. We also recommended that private hospitals management should strictly monitor workers medical decision making to ensure that it is in accordance with medical ethics and should also guide employees in dilemma situations in order to retain a loyal medical officer and also achieve generic goals of the organization.

Abraham Maslow´s hierarchy of needs is analyzed as well as the theories proposed by Alderfer, motivational-hygiene, expectations, equity theory, McClelland´s and the needs of Henry Murray. It reflects on the human needs of information and why this is generated. The issue of how the Film Production Organizations exploits the spectatores desires to appreciate stories and how those companies try to satisfy these needs. Narrative factors that are used by film organisations in movies and tv series production is studied.
