Microwave-assisted technique was also applied in the esterification of aleuritic acid, leading to shorter reaction limes and 98% yield of methyl aleuritate.

Difference spectra in the case of <em>threo</em>-aleuritic acid indicate that the purity of the acid depends on the solvent used for crystallization.
