Esta investigación explora el pensamiento materialista presente en la obra de Alfonso Reyes. Visión de mundo y disposición intuitiva, el materialismo le confiere a la obra su coherencia y su movimiento. La misma unidad orgánica describe las transformaciones de la materia y actúa sobre sí misma para la producción de obras escritas. Filosofía de la materia, pensamiento del trabajo y poética forman aquí un continuo en el que tiene lugar la escritura, animada por la aprehensión sensible: esfuerzo introspectivo y mundano; habituación del cuerpo a la escritura de la experiencia.

En el centenario de natalicio del escritor y funcionario José Luis Martínez (Atoyac, 1918-Ciudad de México, 2007), este artículo indaga sobre su “afición de Grecia”, heredada de su maestro Alfonso Reyes (Monterrey, 1889-Ciudad de México, 1959) y de la tradición del helenismo mexicano, del que se traza un panorama general. Se halló que las labores intelectuales, administrativas y políticas de José Luis Martínez lo acercaron a la cultura griega, pues editó Junta de sombras de Alfonso Reyes y fue Embajador en la República Helénica, a partir de lo cual él escribiría su propio libro Grecia para la Secretaría de Educación Pública. La novedad de nuestro trabajo consiste en investigar las huellas del helenismo mexicano en el ámbito de la literatura nacional y elservicio público.

Abstract:
The Mexican diplomat Alfonso Reyes (1889––1959) was notable in the cultural panorama of Spanish America in the first half of the 20th century for his acquaintance with classical rhetoric, a discipline rarely studied at that time in that part of the world. This article distinguishes four aspects of rhetoric throughout Reyes' oeuvre: (i) a vulgar sense, (ii) an erudite sense, (iii) classical theories, (iv) and modern applications. In his early work, Reyes uses rhetoric in a pejorative and vulgar sense. Around the year 1940, Reyes starts to show a lively interest in rhetoric, opts definitively for an erudite sense of the term, and initiates the study of the classical art of persuasion. In his third phase, Reyes gains deeper knowledge of rhetoric, lectures on the subject, and explains his favorite orators andtheorists. Finally,his use of rhetoric reveals a commitment to the reality of Spanish America. Reyes' rhetoric is an "actualised" and "Americanised" version that shows the possibilities of the classical art of persuasion in Spanish American society.

Abstract:
Este artigo tem como objetivo discutir o fenômeno da desconexão em Cuba (RECIO, 2013) a partir da apresentação do cenário de desenvolvimento das tecnologias na Ilha desde o início da Revolução de 1959 (ALFONSO, 1993) até o início de 2019. Abordamos a concepção de tecnologias propriamente cubanas (PRESS, 2011; URRA, 2011), a absorção das “novas tecnologias” pela sociedade, além de apresentar uma série de táticas cubanas que foram desenvolvidas na tentativa de superar a precariedade da infraestrutura de rede no território, driblando as limitações materiais geradas pelo embargo imposto contra a Ilha pelos Estados Unidos desde o início dos anos 1960 (BRITO, 2019). Apresentamos assim, a evolução dos setores formal e informal de telecomunicações em Cuba durante a chamada Atualização do Socialismo Cubano (HABEL, 2009) e do processo de restabelecimento das relações bilaterais entre Cuba e Estados Unidos, com especial foco na polêmica aproximação do Google, considerado neste artigo um ator geopolítico dos Estados Unidos, devido as suas relações com o Departamento de Estado dos EUA durante a gestão de Barack Obama (ASSANGE, 2014). Encerramos com uma linha do tempo das ações da empresa em Cuba e uma análise de sua atuação durante os primeiros anos dos governos de Miguel Díaz-Canel e Donald Trump.

Abstract:
Esta disertación tiene como objetivo realizar el análisis de la crítica literaria en tres autores: el brasilero Mário de Andrade (1893-1945), el colombiano Baldomero Sanín Cano (1861-1957) y el mexicano Alfonso Reyes (1889-1959), dentro de los contextos histórico-culturales del Modernismo Hispanoamericano de entre siglos y el Modernismo Brasilero de los años 20 y 30, así como de la Revolución Cultural mexicana de inicios del siglo XX. El concepto que sustenta tal análisis es el de valor menor que remite, a partir de la idea barthesiana de imagen, a una palabra que, estando dentro del texto crítico mismo, funciona como clave reveladora y potencializadora del sentido de esa lectura crítica. El valor menor, a diferencia del valor mayor que sería la expresión de una época y de una generación, se propone aquí como la expresión subjetiva que mejor se alía a la práctica de la crítica literaria ejercida desde el ensayo como escritura de búsqueda de sentido y no de certezas conclusivas.
The aim of this this thesis is to analyze the practice of literary criticism in Brazilian Mário de Andrade (1893-1945), Colombian Baldomero Sanín Cano (1861-1957), and Mexican Alfonso Reyes (1889-1959), inside the historical and cultural context of Hispano-American Modernism (between centuries) and Brazilian Modernism (20´s and 30´s) as well as the Mexican Cultural Revolution at the beginning of the XX century. \"This analysis relies upon the concept of Minor Values, which departs from Barthes\' proposed image. It refers to a word which, being part of the critical text, works as a revealing key, strengthening the sense of the critical text. Different from the major value -true expression of an epoch and generation-, the minor value is the most subjective expression that best adheres to the practice of literary criticism from the point of view of the literary essay as a quest for sense instead of certainties.

Latina é enfatizar a produção das mulheres inseridas nesse contexto, atentando para a importância de olhar as particularidades existentes na produção de autoria feminina latino-americana. Ana Pizarro (2004, p.168) chama a atenção para o discurso e o perfil de alguns grupos de escritoras que, nas primeiras décadas do século XX, estabelecem uma rede de contatos tanto intelectuais (leituras, diálogos) quanto pessoais. Isto acaba favorecendo uma postura de reflexão acerca da própria condição a que elas estavam circunscritas, é o que a autora denomina de «invisible college». Com base nesse conceito, a presente pesquisa visa a analisar a atuação de Cecília Meireles (1901-1964), Gabriela Mistral (1889-1957) e Victoria Ocampo (1890-1979) dentro do cenário cultural e literário latino-americano, mostrando, assim, a articulação desse (in)visible college existente entre Brasil, Chile e Argentina. A partir das cartas entre Gabriela Mistral e Ocampo, bem como entre Mistral e Cecília, pretende-se discutir o diálogo estabelecido entre elas em torno da concepção de “americanidade”, tendo como subsidio as próprias produções ensaística e literária das autoras, como também as correspondências que elas trocaram com o escritor mexicano Alfonso Reyes (1889-1959). Assim, pensa-se em discutir até que ponto a postura intelectual dessas mulheres compactua com as suas respectivas atividades literárias
Se nota que una de las tendencias de los estudios actuales de la crítica feminista en América Latina es señalar la producción de mujeres integradas en ese contexto, en que se destaca la importancia de observar las particularidades existentes en la producción de autoría femenina latinoamericana. Si le théâtre actuel est assez peu étudié, que dire de la dramaturgie postmoderne! La postmodernité a alimenté moult débats mais elle a été peu explorée dans l'écriture dramatique. Le moment semble venu d'un premier repérage du théâtre postmoderne espagnol. Cette thèse interroge la notion de postmodernité de manière transversale pour dégager des traits de définition des écritures postmodernes: individualisme narcissique, invalidité des métarécits, fin des avant-gardes en dessinent les contours. Les maîtres mots en sont la multiplication des microrécits, la fragmentation, l'éclectisme, la rupture des frontières intergénériques, l'intertextualité, l'autoréférentialité, l'humour. Au croisement de ce parcours et des réflexions sur le théâtre postmoderne se dégagent des pistes de lecture qui, appliquées à quatre auteurs significatifs du théâtre espagnol actuel: E. Caballero, R. García, B. Ortiz de Gondra et A. Zurro, permettent d'ébaucher un premier portrait du théâtre postmoderne espagnol
The contemporary theatre is studied rather little, but postmodern dramaturgy is less! The postmodernity fed grinds debates but it was explored little in the dramatic writing. The moment seems come forma first location of the Spanish postmodern theatre. This thesis questions the concept of postmodernity in a transverse way to release from the features of definition of the postmodern writings: narcissistic individualism, disability of the métarécits, end of the avant-gardes draw contours of them. The Masters words are the multiplication of the microrécits, fragmentation, eclecticism, rupture of the intergeneric borders, intertextuality, autoreferentiality and humour. Estudio historiográfico de Alfonso Acebal, un profesional desconocido en la Historia del Cine Español. La tesis comienza con el proceso formativo de Acebal en los Estudios Cinematográficos Ballesteros (1944, Madrid), continúa con su paso a la dirección de cortometrajes documentales y dirección adjunta en largometrajes de ficción en los años 40, y por la producción y dirección adjunta de largometrajes de ficción extranjeros en los años 50. El estudio también desarrolla un apartado sobre la producción crítica de Acebal y otro sobre sus proyectos frustrados.
Historiographic study of Alfonso Acebal, a professional unknown in the History of the Spanish Cinema. The thesis starts with the formative process of Ballesteros Film Studios (1944, Madrid), continues with his career to the direction of documentary shorts and assistat direction in fiction films in the forties, and for the production and assistat direction of foreign fiction films in the fifties. The study also develops a section about the writings of Acebal and another about his frustrated projects.

Notre recherche porte sur l'analyse de l'œuvre poétique d'Alfonso Gutiérrez Hermosillo et Xavier Villaurrutia qui viennent respectivement de Guadalajara et de Mexico, facteur qui nous a permis d'établir des relations entre les points de vue des deux auteurs appartenant à la même époque mais issus de milieux différents : celui de la province et celui de la capitale. Nous constatons quelques différences entre ces points de vue, mais les productions des deux poètes ont un point commun essentiel qui est de transcrire l'idéologie dominante de l'époque mexicaine postrévolutionnaire. Nous avons ensuite étudié le contexte culturel de l'époque à travers deux revues, l'une de Guadalajara et l'autre de la capitale. Pour notre analyse nous avons suivi la ligne de la théorie sociocritique élaborée par Edmond Cros selon laquelle à partir de l'analyse du texte (poétique, essais de revues) on peut établir un rapport entre la poésie et les structures sociales de lépoque
In our research we have analysed the poetry of two mexican writers : one belonging to Guadalajara, the other to Mexico City ; this fact gave us the opportunity to stablish relationship between two perspectives of the same period : that of the province and that of the capital. The main factor that links the point of view of the two writers is to express, through their poetry, the ideology dominant prevailing in Mexico after the revolution. We have studied the cultural context through two magazines published in that period : one of Guadalajara, the other of Mexico City. We have, in order to analyse the poems, the postulates of the theory sociocritique created by Edmond Cros according to which it exists a relationship between the structures of the texts (poems) and the social structures from the period studied

Este trabalho resenha o período compreendido entre 1976 e 1989, para possibilitar uma explicação possível da profunda crise na qual a Argentina se encontra desde o período da década perdida . Estuda a economia argentina , especificamente o governo de Raúl Alfonsin o primeiro governo constitucional após a ditadura e o período imediatamente anterior, comprendido entre 1976 e 1983, condição sine qua non dado que condicionou o governo democrático, limitando o desempenho e a evolução do país. Destaca o surgimento da pesada carga herdada como consequência da dívida externa. Esta pesada carga constituída tanto pelos empréstimos de fato contraídos (junto com os correspondentes juros contratados) quanto pela estatização de grande parte da dívida. Destaca também os motivos pelos quais o processo de consolidação democrático defrontou-se com tantas dificuldades encerrando-se emoldurado numa crise tão profunda, ainda que ocorresse a entrega de poder de um presidente constitucional para outro, escolhido num contexto de vigência plena de mecanismos de representação política e de respeito às liberdades políticas

Abstract:
Peter Russell was King Alfonso XIII Professor of Spanish Studies at the University of Oxford 1953–81. He was recruited into the secret service in the mid-1930s and was sent to Spain during the Civil War. On returning to Oxford, Russell joined Military Intelligence and among other duties was responsible for seeing that the Duke and Duchess of Windsor reached the Bahamas safely. He resumed his academic career after the war and quickly established himself as a scholar of exceptional range and dynamism. Influential publications included ‘Don Quixote as a funny book’ MLA 64 (1969), 312–26. Russell was elected a Fellow of the British Academy in 1977. Obituary by Bruce Taylor.

Abstract:
This chapter explores the editorial strategies of the anarcho-syndicalist Jesús González Malo who focused on (1) print protest, (2) popular empowerment, (3) documentation of Spanish anarchism, and (4) rearticulation of revolution and how anarchist contributors supported such goals with literary genres. For example, poet Alfonso Camín denounced Franco’s political repression with Spanish literary icons; José Castilla Morales empowered workers in U.S. exile with antifascist popular plays; Miguel Giménez Igualada published several manuscripts contesting misrepresentations of anarchism; and Félix Martí Ibáñez called for a harmonious engagement with others as a way to spark everyday revolutions. In the case of exiled anarchists publishing in España Libre, their clear awareness of master narratives marked the periodical’s antifascist literary legacy, which went beyond anarchist circles.

Además de su vida académica, Simonelli fue director de Administración Postal Nacional, Adpostal e hizo parte de Telecom. Entre 1969 y 1970, fue llamado por el presidente Carlos Lleras Restrepo, en la última etapa de su período presidencial, para asumiera la honrosa tarea de ser el gobernador del Tolima. En el ámbito político, uno de los hechos más impactantes en la vida política de Alberto Lozano Simonelli fue la rebeldía que promovió y lideró contra el Partido Liberal, concretamente contra la reelección del expresidente Alfonso López Michelsen, en 1982.

Since 1981, when previously healthy young adults were first stricken with a mysterious illness that was eventually described as “a new acquired cellular immunodeficiency” (Gottlieb et al., 1981), understanding of HIV and AIDS, both the in the medical community and general society, has come a long way. There remains, however, an unfortunate degree of stigma that persists since its development in the early days of the illness (Cohen and Weisman, 1986; Cohen, 1987, 1992; Cohen and Alfonso, 1998;Cohen, 2008). Early in the course of this epidemic, as it became evident that the immune deficiency had an infectious etiology and could lead to rapidly fatal complications, many became fearful of the possibility of contagion. An “epidemic of fear” (Hunter, 1990) thus began to develop along with the AIDS epidemic. During the first decade, even many physicians surveyed had negative attitudes toward persons with HIV and AIDS (Kelly et al., 1987; Thompson, 1987; Wormser and Joline, 1989). At the beginning of the HIV epidemic some persons hospitalized with AIDS experienced difficulty receiving even minimally adequate care, including getting their rooms cleaned, obtaining water or food, and receiving proper medical attention. Psychiatric consultations for AIDS patients with depression, withdrawal, and treatment refusal often revealed the heightened feelings of isolation and depression experienced by the patients, in part as a result of the reactions of staff members to their illness, including the palpable fear of contagion. Holtz and coauthors (1983) were the first to describe the profound withdrawal from human contact as the “sheet sign,” observed when persons with AIDS hid under their sheets and completely covered their faces. Thus, since the beginning of the AIDS epidemic, people with AIDS have been stigmatized. They have felt shunned and ostracized by not only medical caregivers but also the general community and even by their own families and friends. In some areas of the world, persons with AIDS have been quarantined because of the irrational fears, discrimination, and stigma associated with this pandemic. In the United States, persons with AIDS have lost their homes and jobs, and some children and adolescents have been excluded from classrooms.

Abstract:
La poesía gráfica se ha consolidado en los últimos años como uno de los campos de experimentación del cómic más activo y fructífero. La exploración de las posibilidades del cómic alejadas de la tradicional narratividad secuencial ha permitido entroncar la narración visual con la poesía concreta y caligramática, encontrando una relación cuya naturalidad y potencialidad resulta sorprendente (McHale, 2010). Aunque las primeras experiencias de la poesía gráfica pueden ser rastreadas en la obra de George Herriman y en la fundacional Poema en viñetas de Dino Buzzatti, en la última década se ha producido un desarrollo espectacular desde el espacio de libertad que representa la autoedición y el fanzinismo. Autores y autoras como Bianca Stone, Warren Craghead o Tom Hart han marcado un camino que en España ha sido seguido por una activa generación de jóvenes autores y autoras entre los que destacan Cynthia Alfonso, Klari Moreno, Julia Huete, María Medem, Óscar Raña, Begoña García-Alén, Andrés Magan o Roberto Masso, entre otros. En este trabajo, analizaremos la obra de García-Alén (Pontevedra, 1989), estudiando la evolución que se ha producido desde sus primeras publicaciones autoeditadas en su sello Noche Liquida, como Lujo Infinito (2015), La máscara de oro (2016), Orden y Forma (2016), Unha Gran Dama (2017) y Nueva Mística de Vigo (2018), a las publicadas por editoriales alternativas, como Perlas del Infierno (Fosfatina, 2014) o Nuevas estructuras (Apa Apa Cómics, 2017). Nos centraremos especialmente es esta última, examinando sus estrategias de narración visual a través del simbolismo, la composición espacial y cromática y el montaje analítico como estructura temporal interna de la página.
