This thesis focuses on works produced in the thirteenth century under king Alfonso X of Castile-Leon. Abstract:
A investigação incide sobre os diversos momentos da transmissão textual da General Estoria de Afonso X, o Sábio, em Portugal, privilegiando uma abordagem filológica dos manuscritos e fragmentos. Estuda-se a marginalia bilingue de um manuscrito castelhano do século XIV conservado em Portugal. Transcrevem-se os fragmentos de tradução da primeira parte da obra alfonsina para português. Procede-se à análise dos fragmentos quatrocentistas da primeira parte e do fragmento da segunda parte da General Estoria, tendo-se ainda em conta a tradução para galego-português do início século XIV já conhecida.

This dissertation analyzes the extent to which the pictorial cycle and poetic text in the Códice Rico manuscript of the Cantigas de Santa María of Alfonso X el Sabio convey the same religious and ideological messages. The Códice Rico portrays an ordered, laboring Christian society with some presence of Jews and Muslims, at the mercy of nature and human nature and saved only by the grace and intercession of Holy Mary.
