Age determination for stock assessments and conservation of cartilaginous fishes is mainly obtained by counting the annual growth bands in vertebrae. Recent studies show numerous inconsistencies and the need for systematic validation. Twenty-five captive small-spotted catsharks (Scyliorhinus canicula) were marked by alizarin red S intraperitoneal injections. We describe a method to assess mineralization by osteoblasts within microspheres using calcein. Fluorescence imaging of calcein bound to the calcium in hydroxyapatite permits assessment of the mineralized portion of the extracellular matrix. Colorimetric imaging of Alizarin Red S complexed with calcium also gives measures of mineralization, and in tissue cultures calcein and Alizarin Red S have been shown to bind to the same regions of mineral deposits. VSMCs showed proliferative activity and significantly attenuated calcification under treatment with 10 μmol/L Res. The calcium salt was detected by alizarin red S staining. Res and MCC950 downregulated the calcification, inflammatory, pyroptosis

Lizards are animals that can do autotomy. Research on the autotomy of lizard’s tail has been carried out, but few have examined about axial skeletons that focus on vertebrae caudales or arranged muscles. That is the background of this research. This research is expected to be a database for further research and as a comparison between animals that can perform other autotomies. This research intend to determine the macro and micro structures of the anatomical axial skeleton lizard’s regenerate tail and to know the micro structures of anatomy muscular segmentation lizard’s regenerate tail. Abstract Bone defects due to the older population, severe trauma, congenital malformations, resection of bone tumors, and infections are serious problems faced in orthopedic clinical treatment, posing great hazards to human health and life, and external interventions are generally required to promote bone healing. Considering the osteogenic promotion of calcium ions, Ca-POM nanowires were synthesized in this study to facilitate the osteogenesis process through the release of calcium ions. The cytotoxicity test showed that the material possesses good biocompatibility. Furthermore, the Alizarin

Mesenchymal stem cells are immunoregulation cells. IL-22 plays an important role in the pathogenesis of immune thrombocytopenia. However, the effects of mesenchymal stem cells on IL-22 production in patients with immune thrombocytopenia remain unclear. Abstract RADA16-I is an ion-complementary self-assembled peptide with a regular folded secondary conformation and can be assembled into an ordered nanostructure. Dentonin is an extracellular matrix phosphate glycoprotein functional peptide motif-containing RGD and SGDG motifs. In this experiment, we propose to combine RAD and Dentonin to form a functionalized self-assembled peptide RAD/Dentonin hydrogel scaffold. Furthermore, we expect that the RAD with the addition of functional motif Dentonin can promote pulp regeneration. The study analyzed the physicochemical properties of RAD/Dentonin thr

The canine has been a useful animal model for the study of fundamental mechanisms and the testing of new therapies for several human pathologies using mesenchymal stem cells (MSC). For preclinical applications, the most commonly used source of canine MSC is bone marrow. Because the amount of autologous bone marrow that can be obtained is limited, skin tissue could supply a noninvasive alternative with large quantities available for the establishment of MSC. In this study, we isolated canine MSC (cMSC) from ear skin and evaluated the expression of transcriptional factors and in vitro differenti

The Wnt/β-catenin pathway promotes osteoblast differentiation. Bioinformatics analysis showed a targeting relationship between miR-150 and β-catenin 3′-UTR. This study investigated miR-150's role in β-catenin expression and osteoblast differentiation of Adipose-Derived Mesenchymal Stem Cells (ADMSCs). Differentiation of ADMSCs into osteoblasts was induced and the expression of miR-150, β-catenin, RUNX2 and OPN on the 0th, 9th and 18th day during differentiation was detected. The dual luciferase gene reporter assay validated the relationship between miR-150 and β-catenin. ADMSCs were divided in
