This thesis discusses characterization of volatile oil reservoirs using well test analysis. For this purpose, typical well test behaviours were simulated with a one-dimensional single well compositional reservoir model, for different production rates; fluid composition and relative permeability curves, with bottomhole pressures above and below the bubble point pressure. It was found that, when the bottomhole pressure falls below the bubble point pressure during a drawdown, a high gas saturation zone is created around the wellbore with two-phase (oil and gas) flow, whereas single phase (oil) wi

The effect of oleic acid (OA) on the stability of the initial emulsions and on the film properties was analysed. Coatings were applied to control fungal decay in strawberries. The blending of chitosan with methylcellulose (MC) was also used in coating applications to tomato plants and fruits to prevent fungal infections. The films' functional properties as

Pevaporation is a method for separating volatile components from liquid mixtures at ambient temperatures. The paint processing industry uses Hansen solubility parameters (HSP) to indicate polymer solubility. The potential of this method to predict solvent-polymer affinity was investigated for screening potential membrane materials for the pervaporation of a model solution containing linalool and linalyl acetate (major components of lavender essential oil), in ethanol. Published HSP values were collated for various polymers, and statistically analysed to determine variations in HSP values for p

With this in mind, a study was designed to investigate the antimicrobial activity of Lavender (Lavandula angustifolia) essential oil, in combination with other essential oils with antimicrobial relevance. Many producing volatile oil reservoirs experience a significant decrease in well deliverability when the bottom-hole pressure of the well falls below the bubble point pressure. This is due to the liberation of a gas phase which resides in the pore space and blocks the flow of the oil phase. This situation is known as "gas blocking". This occurs because the presence of two or three immiscible phases (gas, oil and water) results in a reduction of the oil saturation and a decrease in the oil relative permeability. The main objective of this research was to develop an effective and durable chem
