Abstract:
Certain dipteran flies larvae causing invasion of the tissues and organs of the humans or other vertebrates are called as myiasis, which feed on hosts dead or living tissues. It is well documented in the skin and hot climate regions; underdeveloped countries are affected more commonly. Oral cavity is affected rarely and it can be secondary to serious medical conditions. Poor oral hygiene, alcoholism, senility, or suppurating lesions can be associated with the oral myiasis. Inflammatory and allergic reactions are the commonest clinical manifestations of the disease. In the present case, gingiva of maxillary anterior region was affected by larval infection in a 13-year-old mentally retarded patient.

Abstract:
A complicated interplay between resident mast cells and other recruited inflammatory cells contributes to the development and progression of allergic inflammation entailing the promotion of T helper 2 (Th2) cytokine responses. The current study examined whether resveratrol suppressed the production of inflammatory Th2 cytokines in cultured rat basophilic leukemia RBL-2H3 cells. Cells pre-treated with resveratrol nontoxic at 1–25[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]M were sensitized with anti-dinitrophenyl (anti-DNP), and subsequently stimulated by dinitrophenyl–human serum albumin (DNP–HSA) antigen. Resveratrol dose-dependently diminished the secretion of interleukin (IL)-3, IL-4, IL-13 as well as tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-[Formula: see text] by the antigen stimulation from sensitized cells. It was found that resveratrol mitigated the phosphorylation of p38 MAPK, ERK, and JNK elevated in mast cells exposed to Fc epsilon receptor I (Fc[Formula: see text]RI)-mediated immunoglobulin E (IgE)-antigen complex. The Fc[Formula: see text]RI aggregation was highly enhanced on the surface of mast cells following the HSA stimulation, which was retarded by treatment with 1–25[Formula: see text][Formula: see text]M resveratrol. The IgE-receptor engagement rapidly induced tyrosine phosphorylation of c-Src-related focal adhesion protein paxillin involved in the cytoskeleton rearrangement. The Fc[Formula: see text]RI-mediated rapid activation of c-Src and paxillin was attenuated in a dose-dependent manner. In addition, the paxillin activation entailed p38 MAPK and ERK-responsive signaling, but the JNK activation was less involved. Consistently, oral administration of resveratrol reduced the tissue level of phosphorylated paxillin in the dorsal skin of DNP–HSA-challenged mice. The other tyrosine kinase Tyk2-STAT1 signaling was activated in the dorsal epidermis of antigen-exposed mice, which was associated with allergic inflammation. These results showed that resveratrol inhibited Th2 cytokines- and paxillin-linked allergic responses dependent upon MAPK signaling. Therefore, resveratrol may possess the therapeutic potential of targeting mast cells in preventing the development of allergic inflammation.

Abstract:
Abstract Although chloramphenicol is not approved for use in food-producing animals in the United States, this broad spectrum antibiotic has been widely used to treat dieases in such animals including the lactating dairy cow. Extremely low ophthalmologic doses of chloramphenicol are known to cause aplastic anemia in humans. The residues in meat, milk, and eggs intended for human consumption cause particular public health concern because the bone marrow aplasia is not dose dependent. Furthermore, chloramphenicol, a known inhibitor of protein synthesis, also retards erythropoiesis, a condition that is dose dependent and may cause allergic hypersensitivity reactions. This paper is a review of sensitive methods that use gas, liquid, thin layer, and simple column chromatography as both determinative and cleanup steps for detecting and quantitating chloramphenicol in edible animal tissues, milk, and eggs.

Abstract:
Introduction. The high incidence of chronic tonsillitis (CT), as well as the high risk of complications, make research in this area very relevant. The ambiguity of approaches to conservative therapy determines the need to search for new, reasonably effective, chemotherapy regimens.Objective. To carry out a comparative characteristic of various options for conservative therapy of chronic tonsillitis of toxicallergic form (TAF) I degree (CT TAF I).Materials and methods. The study included patients with CT TAF I according to the classification of B.S. Preobrazhensky and V.T. Palchun. The patients were divided into three clinical groups, depending on the therapy. Patients of the first group underwent a course of washing the lacunae of the tonsils with 1% dioxidine solution. Patients of the second group were prescribed antibiotic therapy with a retard form of clarithromycin. Patients of the third group underwent complex treatment – washing the lacunae of the palatine tonsils and simultaneously taking antibiotic therapy. The effectiveness of treatment was assessed by comparing the dynamics of changes in complaints, pharyngoscopic symptoms of CT, regional lymph nodes, and laboratory parameters.Results. Complex conservative therapy of CT TAF I provides early relief of patients’ complaints (in 93.2% of patients on the 7th day from the start of treatment), the maximum decrease in the severity of local CT symptoms (up to 1 point on the VAS at the end of treatment, with the exception of the Zak sign — 1.4 points) and the greatest positive dynamics of laboratory parameters.Conclusions. The analysis showed that for patients with CT TAF I, complex therapy, including a course of washing the lacunae of the palatine tonsils with 1% dioxidine solution and simultaneous administration of antibacterial therapy with a retard form of clarithromycin, is the most optimal therapeutic tactic that allows to achieve an earlier and stable reduction in the severity of symptoms HT, patient complaints, as well as the normalization of laboratory parameters.

Full text
Abstract:
Mast cells are traditionally considered as key effector cells in IgE-mediated allergic diseases. However, the roles of mast cells have also been implicated in diverse physiological and pathological processes. Mast cells are distributed in various organs and tissues of various species. Some of the organs and tissues, such as testis, skin, and the upper part of the respiratory tract, have a temperature that is lower than the body’s core temperature. The purpose of the present study was to investigate the effects of a lower temperature on the proliferation and degranulation of rat mast cells. Here, we demonstrate that cell growth was retarded at 35°C compared to 37°C for both rat peritoneal mast cells (RPMC) and RBL-2H3, a rat mast cell line. Furthermore, RPMC became more susceptible to degranulation at 35°C compared to 37°C. In contrast, degranulation of RBL-2H3 was not as sensitive to temperature change as RPMC. The functionality of mast cells in unique organs with a lower temperature warrants further analysis.
