AIM : The aim of this study was to determine the antibacterial compound of Altingia excelsa leaves to inhibit the growth of Entrococcus faecalis.
METHODS : The study was true experimental laboratory design. Separating the ethyl acetate extract via their compounds using various chromatographic techniques. Four extracts from A. excelsa leaves was obtained by the maceration method. The highest inhibitory effect was then continued to be isolated until one compound was obtained. Therefore, additional assay to determine chemical structure of compounds was done using UV spectra, infrared (IR),

The success of forest restoration relies on factors such as the extent of damage, environmental constraints, and restoration objectives. When restoring conservation areas, it is crucial to carefully select and cultivate indigenous species to ensure their successful establishment. This study addresses important aspects of restoration outcomes by evaluating the survival rate, diameter growth, height growth, and natural regeneration of eight native tree species: Altingia excelsa, Decaspermum fruticosum, Elaeocarpus sphaericus, Litsea angulata, Manglietia glauca, Schima wallichii, Swietenia mahago

The leaves of Altingia excelsa were found to strongly inhibit SP-C1 human tongue cancer cell lines. This study was focused on identifying the antiproliferative compound found in A. excelsa leaves and assessing its mechanism of action. The active compound was isolated using column chromatography and identified by the spectroscopic method and was also tested for its anti-proliferative properties and the cell cycle analysis in SP-C1 cells by flowcytometry analysis. This work resulted in the isolation of a flavonoid, which was identified to be kaempferol and quercetin. The compounds inhibited SP-C

Abstract : Logging residue is defined as the above-ground biomass left behind after log harvesting with a chainsaw, including branches, tops, and small trees that fall to the ground during the felling process. We investigated the logging residue from rasamala wood (<em>Altingia excelsa</em>) harvested in the Takokak Forest of Sukabumi Regency, Indonesia. The objectives of the study were to determine the percentage of logging residue volume, the locations where logging residue occurred, the percentage of barber chairs, and the relationship between tree diameter and height to the volume of loggi

Two flavonoid compounds, kaempferol (1) and quercetin (2) have been isolated from the leaves of Rasamala (Altingia excelsa Nornha). The chemical structure of compounds 1 and 2 were identified by spectroscopic evidences including, UV, IR, 1D-NMR, 2D-NMR and MS as well as by comparing with previously reported spectral data. These compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time. Compounds 1 and 2 were evaluated for their antiproliferative activity against SP-C1 cancer tongue cells and showed IC50 values of 2.50 and 2.31 mM, respectively.

Abstract: Mount Leuser National Park is one of the largest conservation areas and plays important ecological and economic functions. To support forest management, it is important to gain current vegetation data. The sampling method of a 0.1 hectare plot was carried out on two sampling sites in the submontane zone of Ketambe Resort, Mount Leuser National Park, Aceh. The diversity of trees was not significantly different, while species composition was different. Site one was dominated by Syzygium spp. and Shorea platyclados, while site two was dominated by Altingia excelsa and Bridelia glauca. L
