Abstract:
This study investigated differences in academic characteristics of professional and postprofessional master's degree programs in occupational therapy as perceived by alumni who graduated between 1980 and 1985. The focus was on 10 composite indictors on the Graduate Program Self-Assessment: Master's Level Programs Alumni Questionnaire, Educational Testing Service. Seven of the 10 composite indicators demonstrated statistical differences. The postprofessional alumni perceived their program to be of higher quality in the indicators of environment for learning, scholarly excellence, quality of teaching, faculty concern for students, curriculum, and available resources. The professional master's alumni perceived their fieldwork experiences to be of higher quality than the postprofessional master's degree alumni.

Abstract:
The use of technology in UT instructional media allows students of the Open University of Indonesia (Universitas Terbuka, UT) to improve their knowledge and skills without being hampered by distance, space, and time. This study explored the perception of UT alumni and stakeholders about the benefit of using information and communication technology (ICT) and learning media obtained during their study period in UT. The information was gathered from a tracer study conducted in 2008, which was used to evaluate 5 study programs at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Educational Science in the use of ICT and instructional media. The data were collected from 37 UT regional offices through questionnaires to a sample of alumni teachers and their principals, as well as interviews with selected alumni and stakeholders. According to the surveys and interviews, both alumni and stakeholders perceived that alumni had improved in their knowledge and skills of ICT and learning media. However, according to alumni perceptions, the knowledge and skills they had learned from UT were relatively low. On the other hand, stakeholders perceived that the alumni had good knowledge and skills of ICT and learning media. We argue that differences in perception between alumni and stakeholders result from different experiences and expectations on the part of each group.

Abstract:
Purpose: Evaluating educational programs can improve the quality of education. The present study evaluated the undergraduate occupational health program at the Semnan University of Medical Sciences in Semnan, Iran, with a focus on the associations between alumni perceptions of the learning environment and the outcomes of the occupational health program. Methods: A cross-sectional questionnaire survey was conducted among alumni of the undergraduate occupational health program. We asked alumni to rate their perceptions of the items using a 4-point Likert scale. The associations between alumni perceptions of the educational program and curriculum, faculty, institutional resources, and learning outcomes were modeled and described using structural equation modeling procedures. Results: A descriptive analysis of alumni perceptions indicated low evaluations for the administrative system, practical and research-based courses, and the number of faculty members. We found that a structural model of the evaluation variables of curriculum, faculty qualifications, and institutional resources significantly predicted undergraduate educational outcomes. The curriculum had direct and indirect effects on learning outcomes, mediated by faculty. Conclusion: The findings of our study highlight the usefulness of the structural equation modeling approach for examining links between variables related to the learning process and learning outcomes. Surveys of alumni can provide data for reassessing the learning environment in the light of the professional competencies needed for occupational health graduates.

Abstract:
Recent research shows that camp counselors, including those in 4-H, benefit from the experience by developing important life skills. However, because research regarding the perception of workforce skill development in this context has yielded inconsistent findings, the present study used focus groups to examine 4-H camp counselor alumni perceptions about the skills gained and transfer of these skills to other settings. Overall, 4-H camp counselor alumni thought their experience was fun and enjoyable, yet challenging. They believed they developed important life and workforce skills. Not only did alumni learn these skills, but the skills transferred beyond the camp setting. Leadership was noted as the skill most frequently applied to other contexts. Alumni believed that their counseling experiences had both indirect and direct impacts on their career choice. This study suggests many practical applications for those who work with camp programs.

Abstract:
Previous research indicates that student employment serves as a means of campus involvement. Additional literature indicates that campus involvement promotes alumni affinity. This study proposes that the missing link between student employment as involvement and alumni affinity lies in the students' perceptions of involvement. Therefore, this study explored whether student employees view their employment as an involvement opportunity and the factors that influence those perceptions. Understanding the factors that contribute to perceptions of involvement allows campus recreation professionals to structure employment experiences that are recognized by students as involvement, thereby promoting long-term affinity for the institution. The findings indicate that students perceive their employment as involvement, though to varying degrees. The factors contributing to those perceptions include a) time spent in the work environment, b) alignment with personal interests, c) relationships with coworkers, d) relationships with supervisors, e) affiliation to program area, and f) interaction with the campus community.

Abstract:
Despite growing interest in Master of Social Work/Master of Public Health (MSW/MPH) programs, limited research literature is available on MSW/MPH graduates and none has examined field instructors’ perceptions of MSW/MPH students. This study describes the perceptions and experiences of MSW/MPH alumni and field instructors from a recently implemented MSW/MPH program at the University of Georgia. Electronic surveys were administered to 32 alumni and 34 field instructors; response rates were 71.9% (n=23) and 70.6% (n=24), respectively. Alumni reported satisfaction with the dual degree and utilization of both social work and public health skills in the workplace. Field instructors underscored the complementary skill sets of dually-trained students and noted the added value of MSW/MPH professionals in their agencies. Dually-trained MSW/MPH practitioners are uniquely prepared to address the need for transdisciplinary and interprofessional collaborations to address long-standing social and health issues.

Abstract:
Service learning is a technique in which instructors integrate community service into their semester curriculum to enhance the learning experience. Service-learning teaching strategies naturally fit into horticulture and landscape design curricula, since hands-on laboratories are often incorporated into lesson plans. The purpose of this study was to integrate service-learning techniques into a university-level horticulture course and measure the impact of the course on students’ perceptions of community involvement, perceptions of social impact, and perception of how well the students felt they learned the course material. Students in an undergraduate landscape design class were taught the process of landscape design using service-learning activities within the city and campus communities. Projects included developing designs for campus gardens, the city post office, neighborhood parks, the campus childcare center, city road median areas and the city women's shelter, and other projects. A survey tool was developed from other existing surveys to measure how students felt about service learning as a means to learn skills in class and to measure their perceptions of community involvement and social impact. Currently enrolled students were surveyed and alumni from five classes taught in a similar manner in previous years were surveyed. Results from the study showed major differences in that students felt more positive about community involvement after the course compared with before the course. Students rated their feelings of social impact and learning course material above the neutral levels in both categories. No differences were found in gender and grade point average (GPA) comparisons in any of the categories, with the exception of the social impact statements with males and students with higher GPAs rating their feelings more positively within that category. Additionally, differences were found in comparisons of alumni vs. current students, with alumni feeling more positive about how well they learned course material compared to current students.

Abstract:
Past research concerning the effects of college athletics has concentrated on examining the effects of on-field success on increased donations to the university and increased enrollment applications. This research examines the effects of a university’s move to NCAA Division I-A football membership on marketing variables, such as attitudes toward the university, perceptions of the university, and behavioral intentions regarding attendance at sporting events and donating money. Members of three important stakeholder groups (students, alumni, and area residents) responded to questions dealing with a university’s recent move to Division I-A football. With respect to overall perceptions of I-A football and reactions to the University’s recent move to I-A, students, alumni, and the general public believe that I-A football is more prestigious than I-AA football. Further, I-A football status can create a positive image for a university, can attract students to attend the university, is the best sport for fostering alumni involvement with the university, and it enhances school spirit. These results suggest that the positive perceptions associated with I-A can create the solid foundation upon which additional (future) positive experiences and associations can build, leading to greater financial gains in the future.

Abstract:
This present study evaluated nursing education based on problem-solving and learning based on problems originating from alumni's perceptions. This is an ex-post-facto cross-sectional study. Results were analyzed using both quantitative and qualitative approaches triangulation and through dialectical hermeneutics. In the quantitative approach 180 alumni answered a questionnaire. The qualitative approach involved 14 interviews that searched for meanings related to the notion of ideal care, in order to build indicators that would reveal this evaluation logic. These indicators guided the choice of triangulation questions. Results demonstrated that 85.1% of alumni are working in the nursing market, 92.1% have taken a post-graduate course and 99.1% believe they have the education required to deliver ethical, humanized and founded care. Data analysis demonstrates a compromised education as autonomy and knowledge are being built, and articulated to the Single Health System and the world nursing principles.

This study examines alumni perceptions of the core curricula at the University of North Georgia’s College of Business to assess the gap between the skills employers need in new graduates and what the curricula offer. The research was conducted as part of the continuous improvement process for AACSB accreditation. The findings reveal that soft skills such as communication and problem-solving were highly rated as being useful, whereas the alumni rated calculus and international business skills as less important for daily job requirements. The study provides relevant information for colleges of business as they look to update their core curricula for business majors.

Abstract:
This research was conducted with the aim of: (i) evaluating the trainees’s satisfaction on trainers and training performance; (ii) evaluating the implementation of training results in their work units; (iii) evaluating the impact of training on trainee’s and/or unit performance; and (iv) identifying the constraints that hinders the training results to support the improvement of alumni competency and performance. Kirkpatrick's Evaluation Model was employed, and data was collected using questionnaires and interviews as well as descriptive statistical analysis techniques. The findings reveals that; (i) the overall aspects of training implementation were considered ‘very good’ by the participants, even though did not yet meet their level of expectation. The teacher however, indicates that the overall aspects of training have been able to meet the expectations of participants; (ii) the Effective Negotiation Skills training improved alumni competency after returning to work. This can be seen from the average value of the total perceptions of alumni respondents related to changes in competence after participating in training as much as 8.34 (on a scale of 1-10). Paired sample t-test analysis also showed a significant influence indicating improvement of alumni competency, especially in negotiating with the stakeholders; (iii) the results of training significantly have positive impacts on trainee’s and/or unit performance. This can be seen from the average total of alumni perception on impacts of 4.12 (high) in scale of 1-5 where 1 is very low and 5 is very high) scale. Majority of alumni feel that its positive impacts indicated by increasing of negotiation capability to stakeholders; (iv) The biggest obstacle experienced by alumni in applying knowledge obtained from the training in the workplace is different language, culture, and character, which posed difficulty for them to negotiate and communicate work unit tasks and target performance.

 ABSTRACT
Image is something that is abstract because it relates to beliefs, ideas and impressions obtained from a particular object either directly felt, through the five senses or obtain information from a source. As explained by Roesady, an image is a set of beliefs, ideas, and a person's impression of a particular object. The image of the Riyadhuttafsir boarding school is inseparable from the perception of students, alumni and the community who perceive according to their observations that this boarding school has a positive image. This response (acceptance) directly from students, alumni, and the community in the pesantren environment is in accordance with the results of interviews and observations in the field by researchers who explain that their perception of the Riyadhuttafsir boarding school is an experience of objects namely the Riyadhuttafsir boarding school which only studies the interpretation of science, or relationships obtained by summarizing information and interpreting messages from students, alumni or the community about the existence of the Riyadhuttafsir boarding school in Pagentongan, Bogor. Based on preliminary observations by researchers, what was felt by the community about the teaching and study of Tafsir in the Riyadhuttafsir Islamic Boarding School also confirmed what had been conveyed by the alumni of the boarding school. That the Riyadhuttafsir Islamic Boarding School succeeded in proving its work as a traditional Islamic boarding school which specifically studied interpretation in the Bogor Pagentongan region. Furthermore, the uniqueness of the hut from the existence of the hut is what makes the writer interested to explore and explore further about the perceptions, interests and image of the Riyadhuttafsir boarding school among students and alumni, as well as figures and communities around the boarding school will be the specialty of teaching methodology in Islamic boarding schools. Riyadhuttafsir is timelessly eroded by the changing times. In accordance with the above research title, problem formulation and research objectives, this study uses a qualitative research design. In this study the approach used is a qualitative approach that is displayed as it is. According to Bogdan and Taylor, as quoted by Lexi Moleong, qualitative research is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or oral words from people and the observed behavior.

Abstract:
Abstract Purpose - The study tries to analyze the trends in alumni relations and the role of corporate communication in developing organizational identification and a positive boomerang behavior intention among former employees. The approach of the study has been from the point of view of making this process formal and emphasize on the impact of corporate communication in maintaining alumni relationships, and attracting the former talent for the organization. Methodology- An exploratory methodology was designed to capture the perceptions of current and former employees of nine multinational companies (MNCs) in India, on alumni communication practices prevailing in their organizations. Transcripts of semi-structured interviews were analyzed, coded thematically and the essence of experiences was jointly combined into one description. Findings - Study showed that corporate alumni website, personalized messages on discounts on products and services, emails, social networking platforms, alumni engagement events, leadership and value training workshops and corporate communication standards, particularly consistency, have a positive impact on organizational identification and finally inspire the former employees to rejoin the organization. Practical implications - A number of significant managerial implications are drawn from this study, for example using both corporate communication and training to influence former employees’ attitudes and decision to participate in volunteering activities or rejoin the previous employer. Still, it should be noted that the effect of corporate communication on the behaviors of former employees depend on communication standards and HR interventions in maintaining relationships with alumni. Originality/value - The results provide valuable insights from the key former and current employees perspectives into the effectiveness of alumni communication process to facilitate the recruitment of high performing employees or their involvement in other mutually beneficially activities . Further rehiring alumni is one such innovative method which when done in the right manner can provide a quick solution to the talent crunch. Paper type: Research paper.

Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to identify the various types of employment held by music alumni at one university. We also compare the perceptions of alumni who currently work primarily in music with those of alumni who work outside the field. A mixed-methods research design that relied on surveys and interviews was used to gather data. Alumni employed primarily outside the field held a wide variety of roles and many reported incorporating their musical skills in these roles and they continued to engage in a variety of activities within the field of music. Those whose employment was primarily in music were more likely to have reported choosing to enroll in a music degree program with an express intention of gaining music-focused employment. Findings from this study illustrate that while graduates of music programs do find employment success, further investigation is necessary to identify the breadth of roles available, yet untapped, for music graduates and the perhaps entrepreneurial requirements for engagement in them. Our findings also point to the need for music programs to realign curriculum to better reflect the ever-expanding music sector.

Abstract:
Considerable controversy exists concerning university athletics. Depending upon one’s perspective, athletic programs are seen as having important positive, or negative, effects on universities. The objective of the research reported here is to determine whether perceptions of intercollegiate athletic programs differ as a function of issues such as winning, profits, ethics, and the education of athletes. Our analyses indicate that: (a) ethics and winning, and education and revenue, tend to be competing athletic program priorities; (b) individuals cluster in four groups that emphasize athletic program revenue, winning, education, and ethics; and (c) the extent to which cluster membership is related to constituency group (e.g., alumni, students, faculty) membership depends on the constituency group being considered. The paper concludes with a discussion of the implications of our findings for both theory and practice.

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: To achieve overall health, physicians must understand how community and population health impacts individual health. Although several US medical schools have incorporated community health assessment project requirements into traditional curricula, examples in longitudinal integrated clerkships are unknown. This study was designed to assess alumni perceptions of the influence of community health assessment projects, a core component of the University of Minnesota Rural and Metropolitan Physician Associate Program’s (RPAP/MetroPAP) 9-month longitudinal integrated curriculum. Methods: This 2018 study consisted of a descriptive cross-sectional survey of 480 RPAP/MetroPAP alumni who completed 457 community health assessment projects between 2004/2005 and 2016/2017. The authors administered a 14-item survey requesting date and location of RPAP/MetroPAP 9-month placement, name of project, source of project idea, and perception of project influence on professional activities. Quantitative data were collected using 4-point Likert scales. We collected qualitative data with open text boxes. Results: The survey response rate was 42.29% (203/480). A key finding was alumni perceived project ideas arising from community partners had greater impact on their acquisition of several community engagement skills. One-half reported projects influenced their professional activities, evidenced by ongoing community engagement, interest and participation in public health and preventive health initiatives, efforts to learn about specific health issues, social determinants of health and patient advocacy. Conclusions: This exploratory study suggests medical student community health assessment projects enhance community engagement and soliciting project ideas from community partners increases student acquisition of community engagement skills.

Abstract:
Academic scholarship and professional literature have defined communications as existing in two groups: internal and external/public relations. However, globalism, technology, evolving communication practices, and the maturation of the public relations field have evoked changing attitudes and perceptions regarding stakeholder identification, publics, and communications. This researcher sent a broad, representative survey to university alumni, conducted in-depth interviews with university staff, and performed a content analysis of alumni-facing communications, resulting in an alternate method of viewing internal and external communications. Dubbed the stakeholder-communication continuum, the theory places internal and external communications on either end of a spectrum, with stakeholder groups plotted along the continuum based on their relationship to the organization and each other.

Abstract Purpose To describe the development, format, and alumni and employer perceptions of a program combining a master of science (MS) degree with a residency in health-system pharmacy administration and leadership (HSPAL). Summary A multisite combined MS and HSPAL residency program was developed within the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Eshelman School of Pharmacy to increase leadership and management education. The program balances clinical and administrative experiences with didactic courses over 2 years. The program format and perceived value of MS degree training for HSPAL residents had not been previously described in the literature. In an online survey, alumni of the program, as well as their first supervisors after completion of HSPAL training, indicated perceived attainment of the program core competencies and outcomes. Supervisors also indicated that they were more likely to hire MS degree–trained pharmacists for administrative positions. Conclusion Didactic training in the form of an MS degree as a part of comprehensive HSPAL residency training is perceived as beneficial by alumni and employers for promoting the development of core leadership and management skills and knowledge.

Abstract:
In an attempt to develop students’ employability skills through a job-specific, needs based English for Specific Purposes (ESP) course, this paper investigated conducting a needs analysis to understand the perceptions of the final-year technical students, alumni, and Human Resources (HR) managers for promoting placements in the campus recruitments. By employing a qualitative ethnographic approach, an open-ended questionnaire was conducted with final-year information technology students and structured and unstructured interviews with the HR managers and the alumni respectively. In this study, the communicative needs of the final-year technical students were specifically addressed to provide them with career education and placement training and raise employment opportunities in their course of study. Based on the results of the questionnaire-based survey and subsequent observations in the structured and unstructured interviews, it is widely examined that all of the HR managers reflected on the importance of English language in corporate communications. The findings of the survey also reflected that the perceptions of the alumni and the expectations of the HR managers on verbal and nonverbal skills were well received by the final-year technical students. This is a positive development on the part of students as they were found to be thoroughly aware of their workplace needs and were keen to develop language, communication, and soft skills for successfully entering into the job market. This research implies that connecting institution and industry is a significant factor in helping students obtain job offers and develop the job-specific skills that meet the requirements of the industry.

Abstract:
The article analyzes current trends in the study of corruption in the higher education system in Russia and Western countries. Classifications of corruption abuse, the structure of corruption indicators in universities, problems of studying attitudes towards corruption in the higher education system and the reflection of abuse in the media are discussed. The results of a survey of graduates of seven leading Russian universities for the period from September 2019 to January 30, 2020 are presented. Using the authors’ questionnaire, 1,468 graduates of 2013 and 2018 were interviewed. An additional task was also performed to compare anti-corruption materials on the websites of seven leading Russian universities. The results of the survey indicate the positive dynamics of students’ perceptions of corruption offenses in the direction of decreasing their frequency, which, along with site analysis data, indicates a systematic work that has been carried out in each of the universities over the past years. The authors note the need for greater awareness among university students and teachers about the various situations of corruption, as well as the creation of a feedback about the possible cases of abuse in the university environment that is safe for an applicant.

Abstract:
An adequate supply of a high quality labor force is crucial for national economic and social well-being; consequently, nations worldwide have placed significant emphasis on university graduate employability. Nonetheless, in Taiwan, a mismatch between knowledge acquired in universities and competences required by the job market has dramatically encumbered the supply of a high quality labor force. Thus, this research endeavored to determine the major career services that should be offered in higher educational institutions to alleviate the aforementioned human resource problems. The analytic hierarchy process was adopted as the major instrument for calculating the relative importance of each career service task, and 169 university alumni working in four major career fields participated in this research. The results indicated that participants from different career fields and who graduated from different colleges at different times have very different opinions of job service requests; therefore, universities should seriously consider the differences among students and provide the necessary services for each student in line with his/her particular requests. Moreover, although almost all participants agreed that sharpening students’ job-search and interview skills was crucial in assisting students to find their first jobs, this service was extremely insufficient in universities, and universities thus have to place particular emphasis on this task in the future.
