The results of an extensive survey of the alumni of three doctoral- and four master's-level Christian graduate training programs in professional psychology are reported. The purpose of the survey was to assess how programs have done in training students in the integration of psychology and Christian faith. A total of 1,548 surveys were mailed out; a return rate of 41.3% limited the conclusiveness of the findings. The sample was found to be morally and religiously conservative; master's alumni were typically more conservative than were doctoral alumni. Alumni overwhelmingly identified themselve

Abstract:
The Poggio Bracciolini conference was dedicated to Bryn Mawr alumna Phyllis Goodhart Gordan (1913-1994) one of the leading Poggio scholars of her generation and the editor of the only major collection of Poggio’s letters in English, Two Renaissance Book Hunters (Columbia University Press, 1974). Gordan and her father, Howard Lehman Goodhart (1887-1951) were also responsible for building one of the great collections of 15th century printed books in America, most of which is now at Bryn Mawr College. This paper draws upon Goodhart’s correspondence with rare book dealers and the extensive notes on his books to survey the strengths of the collection and to examine the process by which he built the collection and worked with rare book dealers in the difficult Depression and World War II years, the period when he acquired most of his books. The paper also considers Goodhart’s growing connections with scholars of early printing as his collection and interests grew, in particular the work of Margaret Bingham Stillwell, the editor of Incunabula in American Libraries (1940).

Fundraising efforts at institutions of higher education continue to be a top priority, especially as funding from state governments decline. Public institutions have been looking to private institutions, as they are believed to have been leading the way in cultivating alumni donations since their inception. Higher education institutions must understand what determines the greatest alumni giving if the field is to improve their fundraising efforts, and student and alumni engagement is a key indicator of philanthropic gifts. A survey was administered to gather important insight into the giving behavior of alumni of an engineering department at a large research university located in the Midwestern area of the United States. The purpose of this survey is to understand the correlation between alumni giving and engagement while a student and as alumni.

This chapter reviews literature on the impact of international interaction on interactive skills and college outcomes of domestic students in U.S. colleges and presents key results from a comprehensive alumni survey of three graduating cohorts on the career achievements among undergraduate students who engaged in substantial interaction with international students during college. The findings indicate that collegiate international interaction was significantly correlated with U.S. students' postbaccalaureate international interaction, civic engagement, and artistic activities. The findings provide empirical evidence for claims of potential outcomes from collegiate international interaction and have implications for faculty, senior administrators, student affairs professionals, and policy makers as well as students seeking strategies for promoting beneficial international interaction, maximizing the gains in international diversity that institutions have achieved in recent years, and preparing students to function effectively in an increasingly globalized world.

Abstract:
Globalization facilitates organizational expansion overseas and global workforce challenges. The key may be to understand which labor force characteristics increase economic efficiency. In turn, higher education institutions may need to incorporate industry's need for international interaction into strategic visions. Evidence-based research was conducted using Queens College, the City University of New York, as a case study to understand how internationalization of higher education enhanced economic success of minority immigrant graduates in the United States who were employed across industries. Primary sources included a survey of 524 alumni and group discussions with diverse undergraduates. The results discovered that the employment status and wage, of minority immigrant graduates, were positively impacted when they were exposed to globalized curriculums. This indicates that specific pre-labor market attributes increase economic success of this community and produce international scholars who transfer experiences into career skills that positively impact multinational businesses.

This chapter studies the perception of cadets, alumni, and staff of military schools and colleges (N=220) who responded to a survey about the benefits of interscholastic and intramural athletics for students in military schools and colleges. Overwhelmingly, respondents agreed that both athletics build citizens with good character, foster leadership development, improve academic success metrics and overall personal wellness. Respondents surprisingly perceived athletics as slightly less impactful on fostering integrity and respect as well as on dropout prevention and furthering writing skills. Respondents perceive that interscholastic athletics were more likely to deliver positive returns than intramural athletics, even though most military schools and colleges require participation in intramural athletics, and participation in interscholastic athletics is often optional and based on ability level. Overall, there is a strong perception that participation in athletic activities of any kind offer positive returns for cadets attending military schools and colleges.

Abstract:
This chapter investigates the political orientations and career aspirations of students who intend to join the state sector in Russia, using original survey data from three elite Russian universities. The analysis focuses on whether and how Russia’s future public servants differ from others in their views of the importance of political freedom, order, national security, and strong economic performance. It finds that Russian youth aspire to work for an autocratic state not because they favor autocratic values nor because they hope to build more democratic institutions. Rather, their preference is based on access to recruitment channels: universities with strong alumni networks in the state apparatus or a parent working in the public sector. These findings suggest that public sector workers’ attitudes are similar to those of others at the start of their careers. Over time, however, public servants’ political attitudes diverge, suggesting that Russia’s large public sector also plays a vital role in securing regime support.

Abstract:
How do academies use customer experience (CX) leadership theory? How do they employ and measure it? How is emotional branding related to customer experience? No matter how rigorous higher education programs become, understanding the student and faculty customer experience can have many positive effects. Staff and faculty need to understand how to create meaningful student interactions leading to loyalty that can foster networking opportunities for student success throughout the school's prospective, current, and alumni network. A content analysis and brief survey was employed to examine a University of Phoenix research center Website iteration to define the customer personas of dissertation chairs, its largest customers who utilize the Center for Leadership Studies and Educational Research (CLSER) center for guidance to formulate research studies geared towards publication. These customers (known as affiliates) also were measured whether they believed that implicit promises made were kept, a necessity of purposeful CX strategy and that signifies the degree of emotional connection.

Abstract:
The philosophy of employee experience has been advocated as an effective tool to achieve the highest level of employee engagement in a business environment characterized by increased dynamism in workforce demography, psychography, competencies, and expectations. Employee experience encapsulates the overall journey of an employee in an organization from hire to exit, encompassing their experiences, what they feel, do, and achieve from the company. It is a comprehensive view of the relationship shared and experienced between the individual and the organization right from the application stage to stage they join the alumni group after their exit. The chapter explores this new philosophy in current human capital management practices that aims at revamping the HR practices and policies so as to create an experience that provides the highest level of engagement. Based on content analysis qualitative survey of various HR managers, opinions and new age thoughts in HRM practices has been highlighted in this chapter, giving an innovative dimension to HRM.

Microsoft Excel is a ubiquitous tool used frequently by practicing engineers. A recent survey of alumni from The University of Alabama’s Department of Mechanical Engineering regarding software tools revealed that 100% of the respondents used Microsoft Excel regularly on their jobs, while a low percentage used standard packages such as ANSYS or MATLAB, and that none used software tools which had been bundled with textbooks. The spreadsheet environment offers a great platform for computation and organization of engineering work, and the Visual Basic engine allows for great extensibility of Excel
