Abstract:
The goal of this paper is to use the variable returns to scale (VRS)-slacks-based measure (SBM)-data envelopment analysis (DEA) method to compare the energy resilience of different economies and areas. This study looks at the energy resilience scores of 26 economies from Europe, the Americas, and the Asia-Pacific area. It does this by looking at twelve sub-indicators in three dimensions: society, the economy, and the environment. According to the computational results, seventeen of these economies’ total energy resilience achieved top-tier performance. South Korea, ranked 18th, is only second

ABSTRACT The Barbary Macaque (Macaca sylvanus) lives in the forest biotopes of Algeria and Morocco. It is found mostly in the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where it lives in structured groups. In the Eastern Middle Atlas, in addition to cedar forests, it also lives on rocky outcrops. In these places, the groups are not isolated by habitat degradation and caves are used as dormitories. In the Eastern Middle Atlas, we counted the existing monkeys by a simple scan. The study showed that the remaining populations of monkeys have a large turnover of individuals. We s

Photo by Kateryna Hliznitsova on Unsplash Abstract This paper examines whether the autonomous self can give rise to a right to die in the form of a right to physician-assisted death (PAD) with a geographic focus on Europe. The paper questions whether a patient’s request for PAD can be justified as an expression of true autonomy or whether autonomy itself must be understood as inherently relational. The paper further explores case-law concerning human rights and the incompatibility of a right to die with the right to life, which serves as the foundation for human rights protections. The paper a

This temporary exclusion was set to expire on March 17th, 2024, but was set 3 years further back by the Government of Canada to March 17th, 2027. This paper presents a critical appraisal of the case of MAiD for individuals with mental illness as the sole underlying medical condition through the analysis of three ethical theories: principlism, deontology

It Is Often Said That America is an economically more unequal society than Europe, with greater stratification between rich and poor. On average, the United States is a wealthier society than most European countries. The median American income—that earned by the recipient at the center of the income distribution—is higher than equivalent figures for all European nations other than Luxembourg (figure 189). Americans also earn higher per capita incomes, adjusted for purchasing power variations, than any Europeans other than the Norwegians. That is, of course, easily compatible with widespread po

Abstract Belgium’s complex electronic mass media system must be understood in the context of the tensions between its two language communities and their differing economic and political development. The other significant fact is the neartotal penetration of cable television. The average Belgian household can view fifteen to twenty channels, making the country one of the largest multichannel environments outside of North America. The result is a loss of influence by the public broadcasters, for they must contend with many rivals, both private and public. Some of the largest private firms are ac
