Abstract:
Earlier scholars typically considered the tannaitic traditions transmitted by Amoraim in the two Talmuds to be later amoraic (largely Babylonian) creations. This supposition was based on a range of formalistic considerations: the introductory terms, the attitude of the Amoraim to their halakhic content, and the lack of parallels in tannaitic literature. A study of the approximately 140 baraitot introduced by the term “a Tanna taught in front of so-and-so” offers substantial critique of this supposition, which was often based on incorrect a priori assumptions or on faulty interpretations of sources. Assessment of the nature and origins of the halakhic content of these so-called “amoraic baraitot” requires thorough analysis of the halakhic traditions found in this collection and their comparison with parallels in Palestinian tannaitic literature.

Abstract Presently, most scholars hold that the linguistic status of Rabbinic Hebrew from Byzantine Palestine (380-640 ce) is that of a dead literary language, influenced by Aramaic and earlier varieties of Hebrew, and that Hebrew had already died out as a spoken vernacular in the second or early third century ce. The sources for this variety are rabbinic texts produced by the Palestinian Amoraim and to a lesser degree, epigraphy. The article challenges this view, claiming that such opinions have not been based on a systematic morphosyntactic examination of Palestinian Amoraic Hebrew. The article presents such an analysis of a morphosyntactic structure, namely, pseudo-coordinated verb pairs. Two sub-structures are examined: (I) imperative + imperative and (II) imperative + yiqtol, in Palestinian Amoraic Hebrew, Tannaitic Hebrew, Biblical Hebrew and Jewish Palestinian Aramaic. Palestinian Amoraic Hebrew is found to clearly align with Tannaitic Hebrew, and not Biblical Hebrew and Jewish Palestinian Aramaic.

Abstract:
The Genizah fragment Cambridge U-L T-S F2 (2) 23, numbered C98948 in the Friedberg Jewish Manuscript Society, includes among other things the amoraic controversy between R. Eleazar and R. Jose son of R. Hanina, as well as the give and take between R. Safra and Abaye in Tractate Eruvin 103a. Some of the researchers are divided concerning the initial formation of the sugya. The controversy between R. Eleazar and R. Jose son of R. Hanina as presented in the fragment’s version poses difficulties and interferes with the ordered understanding of the methods utilized by these amoraim to solve the contradiction between the Mishna in Eruvin and the Mishna in Pesaḥim. The purpose of the article is to present the difficulties in the fragment’s version with regard to the abovementioned amoraic controversy and reach conclusions regarding the precise original version of the fragment. Thus too in the matter of the fragment’s version of the give and take between R. Safra and Abaye, which differs from other versions. The purpose of the article is to examine the fragment’s version of this give and take in comparison to other versions and reach conclusions regarding the clearest and most precise version compared to the other versions.

Abstract:
This article argues that the well-known debate about the obligatory nature of the evening prayer, attributed to tannaitic authorities in both the Palestinian and Babylonian Talmuds, is in fact a Babylonian invention. The article documents the significant evidence that the evening prayer was assumed to be obligatory in tannaitic and early amoraic texts and then argues that the literary context of the debate in both Talmuds strongly suggests Babylonian origins for the debate. Dating the debate is more complex, but it seems relatively unlikely that this represents a pre-amoraic Babylonian tradition. Finally, the article considers the motivation for such a development in amoraic Babylonia and suggests that antiquarian interest in the temple may be the likeliest avenue to pursue.

AbstractRabbinic literature is concerned with lineage when determining appropriate marital partners. For the rabbis, not all Jews may marry all other Jews. Some Jews have a lower lineage status and may only marry others of similar status. Scholars have assumed that the Amoraim of Babylonia were more stringent towards matters of lineage than their Palestinian counterparts. However, the talmudic sources themselves do not neatly fit with this dichotomy. Additionally, this generalization does not capture the variety of ways that the Amoraim perceived lineage. In this article, I propose a shift of focus towards the different terminologies and discourses in Amoraic sources, which provide a richer understanding of the ways in which they viewed genealogy, and wished to shape it. These terminologies reflect different ways in which the rabbis constructed the idea of a Jewish people, and its components.

This paper explores the development of a particular talmudic halakhic theme—the restitution of lost property—through the philosophical prism of Hilary Putnam's distinction between concepts and conceptions. This distinction holds that one can affirm a set of concepts without commitment to the underlying conceptions from which they are drawn. The focus here is upon substantial discrepancies between tannaitic and amoraic authorities in the presentation of the halakhot of restitution of lost property. These discrepancies testify to a significant change in the underlying conceptual framework of tannaitic and amoraic halakhic thinking on this topic.

Sages interact with each other, or comment on each other's erudition, piety, personality, and the like. From what sources does the Talmud derive this information? Abstract:
The Talmudic laws of handling objects on the Sabbath (referred to usually as muqṣe) relate to one’s mental state towards given objects as a criterion for determining the permissibility of handling them. Examination of the Mishnah and Tosefta in relation to the Talmuds reveals that this approach is an amoraic novelty, whereas the tannaitic sources base the law solely on physical criteria. This development is demonstrated through two main examples: Application of thought to set the status of an object and the consideration of one’s knowledge or awareness of the state of an object in determining its status. The emergence of this mental approach seems to have been deeply influenced, semantically and conceptually, by the tannaitc purity laws. Continuity, rather than revolution, appears to characterize this development, based in the tannaitic purity laws and applied in early and late amoraic discourse in the Yerushalmi and the Bavli.

Abstract The house of study of Amoraic Palestine has resisted study because of its informality. By situating it alongside Hellenistic, Roman and Christian education, this article argues that examining their funding provides a means of understanding the structural tendencies of these study circles. Communal support appears mostly aspirational, providing clues as to intention and conflicts regarding inclusion. Similarly, narratives concerning individual gifts urge their moral good rather than their reliability, thus pointing inevitably to fees as the underlying means of support for the beit midrash. The necessity of fees in turn demands consideration of how those of more marginal means, including scribes, could afford this tuition. Finally, that teaching younger children provided one avenue of such support reveals a complex interdependency of those who had easier access to this education and those who had less access, as well as the barely glimpsed suggestion of other educational alternatives.

Está ainda presente em mais de 100 países e emprega cerca de 3.500 colaboradores para servir cerca de 22.000 clientes em todo o mundo. Para a obtenção do valor por ação da Corticeira Amorim, e tendo em conta a estrutura de capital da empresa, o método utilizado foi o Free Cash Flow to the Firm. This company, which is the global leader in its sector, is divided in 5 different Business Units: Cork Stoppers, Raw-Materials, Composite Cork, Floor and Wall Coverings and Insulation Cork. It is present in over 100 countries and employs around 3.500 people to serve around 22.000 clients globally. To obtain its share price, and considering the capital structure, the method we used was the Free Cash Flow to the Firm Method. It allowed us to get a target price for Corticeira Amorim's share price of 11,15€ at 14/07/17, which implies a downside potential of 9,83% and a recommendation of Reduce.

This study seeks to determine the fair value per share of Corticeira Amorim, by applying the Free Cash Flow to Firm method, which after reading the review seems to be the most suitable for the company in question. According to the assumptions we worked on, the company's value is fixed in 5.59 euros (per share), which gives the paper a potential appreciation of 18%, being assigned a purchase recommendation.

Des progrès importants ont été réalisés ces dernières années en matière de prévision du comportement dynamique des machines tournantes. Contrairement au phénomènes de base liés à la masse et à la raideur de la prise en compte de l' amortissement n'est pas encore bien maîtrisée. L'analyse du comportement dynamique des rotors fait apparaître deux types d'amortissement : l'amortissement "externe" relatif aux parties fixes (paliers) et l' amortissement ''interne" engendré par les parties tournantes (liaisons, matériau de l'arbre). Après un rappel des équations générales du mouvement d'un rotor en régime transitoire, l'étude théorique et expérimentale d'un rotor équipé d'un palier amortisseur à film comprimé (squeeze-film) au passage d'une vitesse critique est présentée. On s'intéresse en particulier au couplage rotor-palier en comportement non linéaire et à la validation expérimentale de la modélisation. Dans la seconde partie, un rotor assemblé par une bride boulonnée est expérimenté. Ce type d'assemblage, intéressant sur le plan industriel, n'a pas été, à notre connaissance, étudié en rotation. Le comportement du rotor est examiné dans le cas d' excitations de type balourd ou non synchrone. L'étude théorique et expérimentale de l'amortissement dû. Au matériau de arbre fait l'objet de la troisième partie. De nombreux auteurs se sont intéressés à ce sujet, mais les publications restent assez académiques car sans application expérimentale. La formulation développée contribue à une meilleure compréhension du mécanisme d'action de ce type d'amortissement. Les résultats de calcul sur un modèle simple son. : comparés aux résultats expérimentaux.

Este trabalho demonstra o resultado de um projeto realizado na Amorim Revestimentos, S.A., durante um estágio de 8 meses. Tem como objetivo principal a análise do stock global da empresa e encontrar possíveis oportunidades de melhoria na sua gestão. Considerando a filosofia da Amorim Revestimentos, a produção de produtos acabados é guiada pela política make to order, um dos objetivos é analisar as razões de existências de stock e como será possível minimizá-las. Neste relatório foi desenvolvida uma revisão bibliográfica para contextualizar o que foi encontrado e discutido durante o estágio. Seguindo-se de uma introdução da empresa e a apresentação da sua situação inicial. Por último são apresentados os métodos usados, bem como o a situação final dos stocks globais após o final do projeto e algumas oportunidades de melhoria futuras.
This report pretend to describe a project that took place in AR during the internship for 8 months. The main goal is to analyze the global stock of the company and find opportunities to improve their management. Considering the scope of Amorim Revestimentos manufacture, the actual policy for finish products is make to order. One of the objectives is to analyze the reasons to have stock and how can be possible minimize it. On this report, it was developed a bibliographic review to contextualize what it was found and discussed during this internship. Furthermore, it is possible to find an introduction to the company and last but not the least the project itself where it is possible to find before and after situations and some considerations for the future.

Kinderseksuele misbruik het langtermyneffekte op die persoon wat as kind seksueel misbruik is, en dit kan strek tot in sy of haar jong volwasse jare. Dit is dus belangrik dat daar aandag gegee word aan die nodige ondersteuningsnetwerke/hulpbronne wat beskikbaar is vir jong volwassenes wat slagoffers is van seksuele misbruik tydens hulle kinderjare. Deur te bepaal aan watter persone hierdie slagoffers bereid is om die misbruik te openbaar, kan gebruik gemaak word van eienskappe wat benodig word vir effektiewe openbaarmaking. Met die gemengde kwantitatiewe en kwalitatiewe navoringsontwerp is daar op die tweede– en derdejaar maatskaplike werkstudente van die Noordwes–Universiteit (Potchefstroomkampus) as respondente van die studie gefokus. Daar is gebruik gemaak van ‘n doelgerigte steekproef om respondente te verkry vir die studie en selfopgestelde, groep–geadministreerde vraelyste is aan hulle uitgedeel. Die verkennende navorsingsontwerp is gebruik om meer inligting oor die navorsingsonderwerp te bekom, aangesien daar beperkte inligting beskikbaar is en min navorsing daaroor onderneem is binne die Suid–Afrikaanse opset. Die doel van die studie is om vas te stel watter hulpbronne beskikbaar gestel moet word aan slagoffers van seksuele misbruik tydens hulle kinderjare, sodat hulle vroeër in hulle lewe die misbruik openbaar en die nodige hulp kan verkry vir die trauma wat hulle ervaar het. Dit is uit die bevindings duidelik dat die noodsaaklikheid bestaan vir die bewusmaking onder die gemeenskap om van die beskikbare hulpbronne vir persone wat slagoffers van kinderseksuele misbruik, gebruik te maak. Aanbevelings rakende die inhoud word in die studie uiteengesit en aanbevelings vir verdere navorsing word ook aan die hand gedoen. Die gebruik van bewusmakingsprogramme is noodsaaklik om die gemeenskap in te lig oor die dinamika van kinderseksuele misbruik.

La réduction des vibrations est un problème majeur dans le secteur industriel. Cette thèse met en œuvre la technique du contrôle actif qui permet d'atténuer les résonances d'une structure. . Les deux supports expérimentaux de cette thèse sont des procédés " actifs ", l'un monovariable et l'autre multivariable. Le premier procédé est une maquette simple composée d'une poutre encastrée-libre soumise à la flexion uniquement. Le second procédé est une maquette simplifiée d'aile d'avion et soumise à la fois à la flexion et à la torsion. Dans le cadre de cette thèse, les procédés étant à la fois peu amortis mais aussi incertains, la stratégie de commande repose sur la mise en œuvre de contours dits " d'isoamortissement " d'une part et de la commande CRONE (Commande Robuste d'Ordre Non Entier) d'autre part. Ces contours et cette commande sont tous deux des résultats de la recherche menée par Alain Oustaloup à partir de la théorie de la dérivation non entière. Les contours d'isoamortissement sont particulièrement adaptés au contrôle de vibrations car la graduation du contour d'isoamortissement tangeant au lieu de Nichols en boucle ouverte est significative du facteur d'amortissement en asservissement et en régulation. La commande CRONE a pour objectif la robustesse du degré de stabilité de la commande vis-à-vis des incertitudes du procédé. Le degré de stabilité est mesuré par le facteur de résonance en asservissement ou le facteur d'amortissement en asservissement et en régulation et les incertitudes sont prises en compte à travers les véritables domaines qu'elles définissent, conférant ainsi à la commande CRONE un caractère non pessimiste. Cette thèse a mis en évidence l'efficacité de la commande CRONE associée aux contours d'isoamortissement pour traiter les procédés incertains peu amortis. Les procédés d'étude asservis présentent des réponses avec un meilleur facteur d'amortissement et les essais ont montré les propriétés de robustesse de la commande
The vibrations reduction is a major issue in the industrial field. This thesis deals with active control to attenuate the resonances of a structure. The two experimental devices of this thesis are processes with piezoelectric ceramics; one is monovariable and the other is multivariable. The first one is a simple model composed of a free-clamped beam only subjected to bending. The second is a simplified model of an airplane wing, subjected at the same time to bending and torsion. In the frame of our work, the processes being at the same time lightly-damped and uncertain, the control strategy lies on fractional robust control (CRONE control) and iso-damping contours. The iso-damping contours are particularly adapted to the control of vibrations since the graduation of the iso-damping contour tangent to an open-loop Nichols locus is the damping factor of the closed-loop response. The CRONE control aims at insuring the robustness of the stability degree of the control, taking into account the plant uncertainties. The stability degree is measured by the resonance factor or the damping factor and the plant uncertainties are taken into account without over-estimation. This thesis has shown the efficiency of the CRONE control associated to the iso-damping contours in order to deal with uncertain and lightly damped processes. The studied processes are well-better damped and experimental results have confirmed the robustness of the control
This thesis work is placed at the crossroad of Automatic control, Artificial Intelligence and Biotechnology. It aims at developing a modelling and control methodology based on a fuzzy logic approach. The first part of the work presents an introduction to the principles and techniques used in current wastewater treatment plants. It highlights the difficulty in modelling the multiple phenomena involved. From this fact, in the second part, focused on fuzzy modelling and control, we develop initially the identification of affine fuzzy models of Takagi-Sugeno (TS) type from input-output data. We used several fuzzy clustering methods as well as an agglomerative-competitive method which is robust in presence of noise. This type of "grey box" approach allows a rule-based representation which approximates the nonlinear dynamics as a concatenation of locally linear sub-models in the nonlinear autoregressive form (NARX). Moreover, we have developed a graphical version of the FMID toolbox for the fuzzy modelling of systems. Then, we propose a suboptimal linear-quadratic TS fuzzy control relevant to the structure of the identified fuzzy model, by using the parallel distributed compensation (PDC) technique. Finally, the whole methodology is tested and validated in simulation on an aerobic wastewater treatment bioprocess

Reflecting about choreographic composition is the purpose of this research titled: Traces and mutations : the choreography of Gícia Amorim. This study is a reflection on the elements that are present in the choreography work of the Brazilian dancer Gícia Amorim. Especially about how living traces and the mutations of the body are experienced, and how the body print your own signature in choreographic work, pointing to a discussion of the notion of authorship in artistic work . Will also emphasized the proposal of the choreographer Merce Cunningham because, besides being one of the artists of great relevance to the study of dance and especially of the choreography, your proposal is the main reference on the Gícia Amorim s work. In this study, will be used the propositions of authors like José Gil , Laurence Louppe , André Lepecki , Roger Copeland , Michel Foucault , Roland Barthes, among others, to guide the understanding of the issues raised in this research. Combined with the literature research, this study includes the analysis of two choreographies composed by Gícia Amorim - D (K) in MC and Desdobramentos - and interviews with the artist , with reports of her artistic career and about questions relating to her creative process, including the period when she attended classes at the School of Merce Cunningham in New York.
Refletir sobre composição coreográfica é a proposta deste trabalho de pesquisa intitulado: Vestígios e mutações: a coreografia de Gícia Amorim. Tendo como apoio a exposição e análise do trabalho coreográfico da bailarina brasileira Gícia Amorim, este estudo é uma reflexão sobre os elementos que se fazem presentes na coreografia. E especialmente, sobre a forma como convivem os vestígios do que o corpo já vivenciou e as mutações ocorridas, que são capazes de fazer com que esse corpo imprima sua própria assinatura no trabalho coreográfico, apontando para uma discussão acerca da noção de autoria na obra artística. Será também enfatizada a proposta do coreógrafo Merce Cunningham pois, além de ser um dos artistas de grande relevância para o estudo da dança e especialmente da composição coreográfica, sua proposta é a principal referência no trabalho de Gícia Amorim. Nesse estudo, serão tomadas as proposições de autores como José Gil, Laurence Louppe, André Lepecki, Roger Copeland, Michel Foucault, Roland Barthes, dentre outros, para guiar a compreensão das questões aqui abordadas. Aliado à pesquisa bibliográfica, este estudo contempla a análise de duas coreografias compostas por Gícia Amorim - D (K) in MC e Desdobramentos - e a realização de entrevistas com a artista, com relatos de seu percurso artístico e sobre questões relativas ao seu processo criativo, incluindo o período em que frequentou aulas na escola de Merce Cunningham, em Nova Iorque.

Mestrado em Economia Internacional e Estudos Europeus
O fenómeno da internacionalização das empresas tem sido cada vez mais estudado como elemento fundamental para o desenvolvimento da economia. Neste sentido, considera-se útil observar casos específicos de empresas bem-sucedidas, de forma a retirar exemplos de boas práticas para empresas que se queiram internacionalizar, bem como sugestões para políticas públicas de apoio à internacionalização. O presente estudo tem como objetivo descobrir os fatores de sucesso no processo de internacionalização da Corticeira Amorim, empresa portuguesa mais internacionalizada. Não havendo dados suficientes para a estimação de um modelo econométrico de dados temporais, a metodologia do estudo combinou uma análise quantitativa, usando o coeficiente de correlação de Pearson, e uma análise qualitativa através da realização de uma entrevista a um diretor da empresa. A análise dos resultados e da entrevista sugerem que os fatores que mais influenciaram o processo de internacionalização foram: o líder da empresa e a sua estratégia, a networking familiar, os resultados líquidos, o capital social e a inovação.
The internationalization phenomenon of firms has been increasingly studied as a main element to the economic development. In this sense, it is considered useful to look at individual cases of successful firms in order to draw examples of best practices for companies that want to internationalize, as well as suggestions for public policies that support internationalization. This study aims to find out the success factors in the internationalization process of Corticeira Amorim, the most internationalized Portuguese firm. Without sufficient data to estimate an econometric model of temporal data, the study methodology combined quantitative analysis, using the Pearson correlation coefficient, and a qualitative analysis by conducting an interview with a firm?s Director. The results and interview suggest that the factors that most influenced the internationalization process were the leader of the company and its strategy, the family network, net profit, capital and innovation.

Abstract:
This chapter examines the famous opening sugya of tractate Bava Qamma to show how the Babylonian Talmud's creators could use an ambitious literary design to highlight the gap between their own words and an Amoraic tradition. This sugya has been used before as an example of the strategies the Talmud's creators employed seamlessly to incorporate tradition to the literary and logical structures they constructed. This chapter suggests the opposite, arguing that the sugya is designed to emphasize the distance between the approach expressed by the stam (the creators‘ anonymous layer) and the approach expressed by the Amoraic dictum that it cites. Far from “hiding” themselves behind tradition or voicing their agenda through it, the authors of the stam become a presence in their own creation.
