Abstract:
The link between great creativity and psychopathology remains highly debated, but still a firm- ly established finding by many studies during the last century. Whereas biographic evidence for psychotic affective disorders has often been reported for creative artists, the present study takes into account the recent discussions about the traits of autism spectrum and ADHD that are found in high creativity. The most recent book by the Irish psychiatrist Michael Fitzgerald, The Mind of the Artist serves as the frame of reference. The case under study is the British jazz singer Amy Winehouse (1983-2011). Two biographic narratives, one by each of her parents, are an- alysed for her cognitive and behavioural profile and personality traits. The cognitive strengths and weaknesses observed, as well as the descriptions of her social and non-social behaviours, closely match the ADHD and autistic symptoms. The identity diffusion that is a characteristic of highly creative artists according to Fitzgerald, also occurs as the prominent feature of singer’s persona with multifaceted ways of expression. Both autistic and ADHD traits were high in her persona which enhanced her creativity, but also caused problems in everyday life.

Abstract:
IntroductionGovernment-funded research indicates the prevalence of substance use in this age group is decreasing. However, anecdotal evidence suggests otherwise.Previous surveys have been limited by:— difficulty recruiting schools;— the range of substances included;— paper surveys.ObjectivesTo determine whether a secure online survey method improves substance use prevalence data collection in school age adolescents.MethodAn online survey was created following literature review, and assessment of the reliability and validity of existing surveys. A comprehensive range of substances were included. A total of 750 students (11–16 yrs) from a mainstream school in Lancashire completed the survey during a supervised classroom session. Focus groups were conducted with students and teachers.ResultsNo technical problems were encountered and survey data was securely transferred to Excel allowing instant analysis.Teachers felt the survey would be unproblematic to administer independently and found the inclusion of substances such as legal highs, and energy drinks, especially relevant. Most students completed the survey within the session and reported a positive experience, although some difficulties understanding wording were mentioned. They felt an online survey improved confidentiality (and therefore honesty) and was easier to fill in. However, there was concern about teachers reading their responses.ConclusionsA secure online survey may be acceptable to both teachers and students, and enables the collection of hundreds of surveys in a short time period. It also improves analysis techniques.Further analysis of whether there is a teacher-versus-researcher supervision effect on the honesty of student responses is required.Disclosure of interestThe authors have not supplied their declaration of competing interest.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Abstract Even from the distant past the aesthetic perception in an individual was diminished by the presence of gap between the central incisors. This condition is found under the term “dents du bonheur” or “lucky teeth” and is encountered even among world famous figures including Brigitte Bardot, Eliah Wood, Madonna, Zac Efron, Amy Winehouse and Elton John. The teeth gaps are still considered main reasons for dissatisfaction of the dental patients and reasons for the requirement of aesthetic treatment. The purpose of this study is to exhibit the influence of the etiological factors in the occurrence of dia-stema mediana classified according to the dominance of their occurrence expressed in percentage values. Materials of this investigation were 100 patients with diastema mediana from the following factors: inheritance, disproportion in the dental arches, inborn or acquired missing teeth, harmful oral habits, high insertion of the labial frenulum as well as mesiodens. After the diagnosis and evaluation of the etiological factor for diastema mediana was performed, a decision regarding the course of treatment was made in direction of the removal of the etiological factor at an early age and orthodontic treatment. The end of the orthodontic treatment in a group of the patients was the beginning of prosthodontic reconstruction. From our clinical investigation we came to the realization that in 49 patients (49%) the hereditary influence was a dominant factor, next followed disproportions and discrepancies in the dental arch in 14 (14%), inborn or acquired missing teeth in 11 patients (11%), harmful oral habits in 10 (10%), high frenulum insertion in 4 (4%), and pathological objects between central incisors, mesiodens, iatrogenic factors and periodontal disease, in 3 of the clinical cases (3%) each. We concluded that the occurrence of diastema mediana is multi-causal. The dominant place is occupied by the hereditary factors. With regard to the mutual relationship between the multitudes of factors in the occurrence of diastema mediana, the diagnosis should be made conciliary and the clinical treatment should be interdisciplinary including a prosthodontist, orthodontist and oral surgeon.

Abstract:
Frames of spots, cuts and movements, are important parts of the world cinematographic language. This cinematographic structure, reveals the intrinsic mixture of technical characteristics with the narrative wishes from the creative view of the filmmaker and the thematic issues which has been approached. In documentary cinema, these aspects come up because of cultural, political and ideological interests of the engaged authors in some social causes. The marketing purposes that currently dialogue with this kind of documentaries have created new forms of production and perception. From a comparative of two documentaries from different nationalities about artistic personalities such as “Amy”, by Asif Kapadia (England, EUA, 2015) and “Chico, Brazilian artist” by Miguel Faria Jr (Brazil, 2015) deals with different phases of life, of Amy Winehouse and Chico Buarque de Hollanda, these documentaries aim to focus on sociological expressions that arise from this process in these both contemporary documentaries.
