Abstract:

O’dogherty, Luis, and Patrick De Wever. "<i>Pentaspongoreta</i>, nomen novum for the genus <i>Anachoreta</i> O’Dogherty, 1994 (Radiolaria), non Gistel, 1848 (Hymenoptera)." Journal of Micropalaeontology 27, no. 2 (November 1, 2008): 189. http://dx.doi.org/10.1144/jm.27.2.189.

Abstract:
Abstract. In 1994, O’Dogherty (p. 137) erected the genus Anachoreta for a distinctive multicyrtid radiolarian having pentagonal post-abdominal segments in cross-section, a feature hitherto unknown among Cretaceous nassellarians. This monospecific taxon is a useful stratigraphical marker, ranging from the latest Albian to Middle–Late Cenomanian times. Recently, it was discovered that Gistel (1848) first gave the same name Anachoreta to an insect of the suborder Symphyta (Hymenoptera) as replacement name pro Lophyrus Latreille, 1802, previously preoccupied. Therefore, in accordance with the International Code of Zoological Nomenclature (1999) (Article 60), the name Pentaspongoreta is herein proposed as a replacement (type species Anachoreta sagitta O’Dogherty, 1994, p. 138, by original designation) for the preoccupied homonym Anachoreta O’Dogherty, 1994, non Gistel, 1848. Pentaspongoreta is named for its pentahedrical-shaped test and spongy meshwork; feminine gender.

Abstract:
Three new taxa, endemic of Sardinia, are described in the genus Asida Latreille, 1802: Asida (Asida) dryas sp. nov. (type locality: Capoterra, Gutturu Mannu), A. (Asida) anachoreta sp. nov. (type locality: Gonnosfanadiga, Punta Cammedda), and A. (Asida) solieri caroli ssp. nov. (type locality: Morgongiori, Is Benas). Additional systematic, distributional and ecological data are provided for some Tenebrionidae occurring in Sardinia. The following synonymy is established: Stenosis angusticollis (Reiche, 1861) = Stenosis angusticollis ssp. elongatissima Koch, 1940 syn. nov.; Tentyria rugosa Gené, 1836 is reinstated as a valid species, well differentiated from T. ramburi Solier, 1835. Furthermore, Tentyria rugosa is split into three subspecies: T. rugosa ssp. rugosa Gené, 1836, T. rugosa ssp. floresii Gené, 1836 and T. rugosa ssp. cassolai Ardoin, 1973. The latter is transferred from T. ramburi. T. ramburi is transferred from the subgenus Tentyria s. str. to the subgenus Subtentyrina.

Abstract:
The article deals with the half-legendary Quss Ibn Sa’ida from an ancient North Arab tribe Iyad, who is believed to have been a bishop of the Yemeni city of Najran and a monk (anachorete). The sources from the Quranic and medieval Arab (Muslim) tradition are gathered and analysed to underline the vivid place that Quss had in later historiography and theological works, and his unique position, a Christian, in the history of the Arab-Muslim culture. The case of Quss is not without value as far as the problem of common historical memory is concerned.

Petříková, Klára. "Překlad Ancrene Wisse, "Řádu pro poustevnice"." Doctoral thesis, 2015. http://www.nusl.cz/ntk/nusl-352240.

Full text
Abstract:
Abstract, Ancrene Wisse, "Guide for Anchoresses" A Czech Translation (2015) Klára Petříková Ancrene Wisse (Guide for Anchoresses) is a remarkable work of the Middle English literature dating back to the first half of the 13th century. Its author (presumably a Dominican) conceived it as "spiritual life guidelines" for three sisters of a noble origin who decided to renounce the world. Besides its didactic purpose, its character is meditative and contemplative. Riveting in its style, its rich metaphors and heightened sensibility link it with the later tradition of the English mystical writers (Julian of Norwich), The work abounds in quotations, paraphrases of the continental monastic authors (St. Augustine, Bernard of Clairvaux). Surviving in seventeen manuscripts, it had been quoted till the Renaissance and its importance is further confirmed by a contemporaneous translation into Latin and French. Present translation aims to introduce this work to the Czech readers and to put it in its historical, social and literary context.
