Abstract:
The cross is a key element in Male Artistic Gymnastics rings routines. The anatomical position during its execution requires 90° of shoulder abduction in frontal plane, which implies a large mechanical demand of shoulder joints. For training condition, a modified rings apparatus is worldwide used to decrease shoulder load and allow more repetitions of cross. Studies suggest that there is different shoulder muscle activation between training and competition conditions. However, is not clear the training apparatuses specificity regarding biomechanics, considering kinematics, kinetics and electromyography in an individual basis. The aim of this thesis is to investigate the biomechanics of the cross using training and competition rings devices. Twelve Brazilian elite gymnasts were tested on isokinetic dynamometer for shoulder strength asymmetry and electromyography assessment. Within one week interval, participants performed in their training place, three crosses in rings and in training apparatus randomly. One digital video camera, one strain gauge in each cable and surface electromyography of nine shoulder muscles were used. Statistical analyses were performed by parametric and non-parametric tests and descriptive statistics. Shoulder strength asymmetry RMS values were 9.9±6.4%. The asymmetry of shoulder strength and cross performance on rings had an individual basis relation. Shoulder angles on training device had less deviation from target 90° of abduction on training apparatus than on rings and smaller asymmetry value. Cable forces had similar values in both apparatuses, as the asymmetry values. Electromyography of nine muscles and co contraction values differences were not different between the types of rings. The training rings allowed the gymnasts to better perform the cross without changing shoulder muscle activation patterns. An individual orientation for gymnasts to perform the cross on training apparatus within the same way they perform in competition rings, it is necessary for the maintenance of equivalent biomechanical characteristics

Full text
Abstract:

The Swedish food retail market contains of three major actors, ICA, KF and Axfood, all in all dominating 75 percent of the total market shares. The scant number of retailing actors indicates that the Swedish food retail market is a highly concentrated oligopoly, which as a fact has given rise to definite discussions and argumentations concerning the market situation. But is the food retail market imperfect and how do we reach a workable competition? Economic theory does not provide any clear answer on these questions, but is rather divided into two fundamentally different approaches to define competition: the static and the dynamic perspective on competition.

In an attempt to examine the competition on local Swedish retail markets, the purpose of this study is to carry out an econometric model estimating the situation. The model serves to explain the variation of ICA’s achievements measured in terms of turnovers obtained in the company. The explanatory variables composing the model are divided into three separate groupings: degreeof market concentration, storespecific factors and region-specific factors. Furthermore, in order to find out which one of the competitive explanations best fits the reality, the regression results are interpreted from a static and a dynamic perspective of competition. In part, we also aim to compare the results with the outline of the Swedish competition law.

We found that the level of concentration obtained in our material is high and is steadily increasing. We also found that stores do not, in any great extent, use price, service and quality as competitive methods. Thus, to gain competitive advantage, market actors must find other ways to carry out strategic market activities. The region-specific variables had either none or very little influence on ICA’s turnover. According to these findings, neither the static nor the dynamic perspective of competition is solely able to produce an accurate method for reaching a state of a workable competition. Instead, a combination of the static and the dynamic ideas may be regarded as the most advantageous way to generate suitable conditions for competition to be efficient. Therefore, in order to promote workable competition, the Swedish competition law must consist of a balance between the static and the dynamic view of competition.

We study the effects of the recent economic crisis on firms' bidding behavior and markups in sealed bid auctions. Using data from Austrian construction procurements, we estimate bidders' construction costs within a private value auction model. We find that markups of all bids submitted decrease by 1.5 percentage points in the recent economic crisis, markups of winning bids decrease by 3.3 percentage points. We also find that without the government stimulus package this decrease would have been larger. These two pieces of evidence point to pro-cyclical markups. (authors' abstract)

Yu, Zeyi. "Efficiency and competition analysis in nine Asian banking industries." Thesis, Loughborough University, 2017. https://dspace.lboro.ac.uk/2134/24135.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis adopts a new operational method to measure and investigate the relationship among cost efficiency, market competition and profitability in major Asian economies by using an unbalanced panel data sample of 278 commercial banks during the financial upheaval period of 2005-2012 before and after the global financial crisis. Firstly, we estimate the cost efficiency by employing different stochastic frontier analysis (SFA) models, which include the equity capital to indicate loss-absorbing capacity and risk preference and cross-country differences to be additional environmental variables. It is generally agreed that cross-country differences influence the frontier technology in the international comparison of banks performance. In this case, we implement the international comparison under SFA models with and without incorporating these cross-country heterogeneities. And the empirical results suggest that cross-country differences are significant sources to measure banks cost efficiency and evaluate banks performance. Secondly, we measure the market competition by investigating a range of approaches: the traditional Structure-Conduct-Performance approach, Lerner index, and new empirical industrial organization Panzar-Rosse approach. And we find that the SCP-Lerner approach may fail to identify the strength of competition and may not always unambiguously distinguish between the market power and the efficiency explanations of market concentration. Finally, following the approach of Boone, we measure the intensity of competition in two ways: the profit elasticity and the relative profit difference (calculated by cost efficiency score and shadow return on equity capital). Then we implement a quadratic quantile regression to compute the integral areas and standard errors for the Boone visual test and Wald test to reflect the relative intensity of competition for different competitive regimes over time. Our findings show that competition of banking industries become more intense in 9 Asian economies in the wake of the financial crisis and that two advanced economies (Singapore and Taiwan Province of China) and two remarkable emerging economies (China and India) play the significantly leading role in this intensifying competition process.

Abstract:
This thesis analyses legislative and judicial responses to parallel importation, a practice that pits intellectual property rights against the freedom of trade. Parallel importation involves the sale of genuine products holding intellectual property rights which have been imported into a country without the authorization of the IP rightholder. This practice is opposed by those who claim that their rights are infringed. The author examines responses in Canada, the United States of America, and the European Union, and finds that they are not consistent.
The author questions the applicability of using intellectual property rights to stop parallel importation and whether such measures are necessary to protect intellectual property rights and consumer welfare. According to the author, it is more appropriate to address rightholder concerns contractually. Consumer welfare can be assured with a statutory requirement that products have sufficient labelling to prevent confusion as to their origin.

Full text
Abstract:
A sizeable literature documents patterns of competition between local governments in metropolitan regions, while also exploring variation in such local government financial attributes as efficiency, budget size, fiscal disparity, and service equity, which are frequently bound together under the concept of fiscal health. However, the concept of fiscal health is broader and more sophisticated than any one fiscal measure, and empirical studies tend to focus only on multi-purpose governments. This study brings these concepts together to investigate how interlocal competition affects the fiscal health of different government types. This study answers three questions: What is a measure of fiscal health applicable to different government types? How does competition among cities and towns affect local fiscal health? How does the proliferation of special districts affect the fiscal health of local governments? This study measures the concept of fiscal health using factor analysis and examines the effects of competition among different government types on the fiscal health of both municipalities and special districts. Utilizing a pooled cross-sectional time-series approach and data from the U.S. Census Bureau for metropolitan statistical areas for every five years between 1972 and 2012,the study finds that competition among municipalities has adverse influences on the fiscal health of both municipalities and special districts, whereas interlocal competition among special districts results in improved fiscal health for special districts without a significant effect on the fiscal health of municipalities.

Fiva, Jon H. "An Empirical Analysis of Decentralization, Fiscal Competition and Welfare Policy." Doctoral thesis, Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Department of Economics, 2006. http://urn.kb.se/resolve?urn=urn:nbn:no:ntnu:diva-902.

Full text
Abstract:

While competition among companies tends to be beneficial for the general public, this is not necessarily the case for competition among governments. Key in the fiscal competition theory is that the mobility of firms and households yields incentives for governments to aim to improve their relative position through successive undercutting of tax rates and welfare state arrangements. This mechanism has the potential to work as a disciplining device because it ensures that no jurisdiction is allowed to be grossly inefficient, because if it were grossly inefficient, mobile factors of production would move away. The main concern in the theoretical fiscal competition literature, however, has been that fiscal competition lowers government spending below their efficient levels. Another concern related to fiscal competition is that household mobility is likely to undermine attempts by governments to redistribute income. Empirical evaluation of both the existence and consequences of fiscal competition is the central topic of the thesis “An Empirical Analysis of Decentralization, Fiscal Competition and Welfare Policy”.

A particular focus of this thesis is on fiscal competition in welfare policy. With decentralized responsibility for the welfare benefit system in Norway, theory predicts that local governments will behave strategically in setting their welfare policy in order to avoid becoming ‘welfare magnets’. The key finding in Chapter 2 of this thesis is that Norwegian local governments in fact engage in such a ‘welfare game’. A local government will respond with reducing their welfare benefits when neighboring local governments reduce their welfare benefits. Encouraged by the finding in Chapter 2, Chapter 3 seeks to answer the question: Does Welfare Policy Affect Residential Choices? The analysis shows that Norwegian welfare recipients respond to changes in welfare policy by migrating. Local politicians concern about being to generous compared to their peers seem warranted. The analysis in Chapter 4 evaluates whether strategic interaction among Norwegian local governments in property tax decisions occurs. With limited mobility of the tax base and politically highly visible decisions, we interpret the strategic interaction found to be driven by yardstick competition, rather than competition for a mobile tax base. The final chapter differs from the rest in that it utilizes data from 18 OECD countries. The essay analyzes the effects of decentralization of government on the size and composition of government spending. Since jurisdictions with limited geographic scope (such as local governments) are, in general, more likely to face greater competitive pressures than larger ones (such as countries), it follows that the more fiscally decentralized countries are expected to experience stronger fiscal competition. One of the key findings is that decentralization of taxing powers is associated with less transfer spending, but unrelated to government consumption.

Abstract:
The exponential growth of the human population has contributed to the overuse and degradation of common pool resources. Using science as a tool for informed policy-making can improve the management of our common pool resources. Understanding the conditions that influence groups of individuals to make ethical self-controlled choices may help solve problems related to the overuse and degradation of common pool resources. Ethical self-control involves the conflict of choice between one that will benefit the individual versus one that will benefit the group. The cumulative effect of many individuals behaving in an ethically self-controlled manner with common resource use may offset some of the harm posed by overuse of common pool resources. Metacontingency arrangements involving ethical self-control may provide some insight as to if and how groups may cooperate to manage a common pool resource. This manuscript proposes an experimental preparation and methodology to evaluate the effects of competing magnitudes of cultural consequences on culturants and their cumulative effect on common pool resources; and provides an analysis and discussion of five trends that might result from such a line of research.

Competition is very fast and difficult to control in modern society. It has become a rapid cycle of markets. Therefore, traditional long-term positioning as a competitive strategy is no longer applicable. It must focus on a new type of dynamic competitive strategy. This study through exploring the dynamic competitive strategy, expecting to obtain the competitive strategy which is applied to the modern competitive environment. This study adopts the content analysis as the research method. The data source is obtained from the BOSS system. There are three advantages of this method. First, it can obtain the information of company competition in a short time. Second, it can get the in-depth information. Third, it can be examined several periods. The main analysis model is the competitor analysis and competitive rivalry model which is from Chen (1996). This study adopts three factors, consciousness- motivation – ability, which drives competitive behavior to analysis the thinking pattern of each participant. The second study adopts the three-body theory which is from Caplow (1968). Through the classification of market position to divide the participant into three market positions. Then, comparing the strategy of each market position. This study try to figure out what kind of decision would be the best choice for each market position. The first study results show that, even companies are in the same market positions and resource conditions may have different estimates because of their different attributes, and to different decision-makings. The second study shows that, no matter companies are market leader or market challenger, proactive enter the market seems the best decision for them.

During the National Skills Automotive Technology Competition, competitors’ performances are affected by a variety of psychological factors. The researchers believe that competition cognitive load, English cognitive load and competition anxiety are factors that should be considered. As such, the present study aims to explore competitors’ self-efficacy perception, English cognitive load and problem-solving strategies, to understand how these factors affect competition anxiety and competition related performance. This study used a questionnaire and adapted questions from JIANG,WEI-HAO et al.’s questionnaire. 75 effective questionnaire samples were collected and analyzed using Partial Least Squares (PLS) regression. The results showed the following: self-efficacy and competition cognitive load were positively correlated to English cognitive load; competition cognitive load was positively correlated to English cognitive load; competition cognitive load was positively correlated to competition anxiety; English cognitive load was positively correlated to competition anxiety; and competition anxiety was positively correlated to competition performance. Further analysis found that there was significant difference between problem-solving strategy and competitor’s self-efficacy perception and English cognitive load. Through two-way ANOVA, this study also examined whether there was significant difference in problem-solving strategies based on competitor’s region and competition level. The result showed that there was a significant difference in problem-solving strategy based on the competitors’ regions (i.e. Northern Taiwan, Middle Taiwan and Southern Taiwan), school years, and types of the schools (i.e. public or private).

In recent years, due to the introductions of numerous technology innovations and dramatically increased demands in data communications market, a brand new data communications industry has being evolving by data centric digital convergence with telecommunications, information and neo-media technologies integration. The traditional analyses in most published studies have been based on government policies and corporate competition. The objective of this thesis is to propose the effects of technologies competition analysis viewpoints, and therefore point out the consequent impacts on the industry developments and the corporate strategies. Based upon transmission distances, the data communications networks are classified into backbone, access, and local area networks, and have been a fundamental skill for technology analysis. To further understand the industry developments and the corporate strategies, in this thesis we extend this distance viewpoint and propose a brand new analysis model: an architecture consisting of three fundamental dimensions, namely, the distance aspect, the OSI reference model and the competition of different kinds of network technologies. Furthermore, with technology S-curve, standardization, network effect, and converter theories, we propose new viewpoints of competition models among data communications technologies as well as alternative strategies for the competitors.

By using the result from “The National Olympic Mathematic Competition” as the analysis data, this research applies Classical Test Theory (CTT) and Item Response Theory (IRT) for the statistical analysis of test and quantitative analysis, focusing on individual items/questions and the structure of the test paper. The main purpose is to provide an effective methodology on item analysis for teachers and to provide analysis on the evaluation of examinee. The result of this study shows: 1. The test items meet the uni-dimensionality assumption and are suitable for quantitative analysis with three parameter model. 2. Under the assumption of CTT and IRT, the test items contain proper difficulty, discrimination, item guessing, correct-power and distractibility. 3. The structure of the test paper has high reliability. 4. Gender and geographic distribution affect distinctively on the examinees’ performance evaluation: Male students perform better than female students; students from middle of Taiwan perform better than students from eastern Taiwan.

The high-tech industry is the competitive strength as well as major profit source for countries in the world. However, these companies face a lot of uncertainties including market demands, technology progress and new competitors that bring new strategies and technology into the market. Consequently, all these elements cause intense competition within the industry. Companies that do not keep up with the trend of changes will be left behind and be forced to exit the market. In high-tech industries, players should not only take into consideration the cost of developing new technology, profit procurement, market competition, but also need to create innovative tactics to break the existing formed game rules in order to create additional market profit and strengthen long term competitiveness. That is the reason why manufacturers of smart phone and licensors of mobile OS platform have been continuously seeking innovative tactics and methods to lower costs. Game theory and its analysis can be used as tools to reflect the relations between operation tactics and costs and is an important basis for managerial decisions. This thesis applies the game theory to propose a tactics selection approach, analyzing data such as mobile OS platform price, licensee''s corresponding cost, licensor''s market share and overall market demand, and using business revenue to assess effectiveness. In addition, this thesis uses game theory to predict when a new and different competition appears in the market which causes irreversible change in market trend, what the anticipated pay-off would be when different tactics are adopted by players in order to preserve market share and maintain profitability. This research concludes that, market leaders as well as market followers will all adopt aggressive tactics to maintain or increase market shares by giving up license fees and adopt open OS platforms which in turn will bring in other revenue such as commercial income. However, unexpected risks need to be considered in order to contain cost and maintain profitability.

With the increasing competition among smartphone competitors and the changing of market demands, Taiwanese manufacturers are unable to respond quickly to changes in the market due to the lack of dynamic competition thinking, leading to unsatisfactory performance in overall operating performance. In this study, the outstanding manufacturers in the smartphone market were selected and compared to find out that how they can achieve competitive advantages in a dynamic environment. To provide Taiwanese manufacturers with a benchmark for learning and enabling them to have good operating performance in a highly competitive market. This study uses Dynamic Competition Theory as a method to explore the competition process among competitor and then uses Data Envelopment Analysis to evaluate the performance of firms after competition. Finally, the evaluation results are organized and combined with BCG matrix, and then provided the feedback for business direction. The research results of this study are as follows: (1) The change in the competitive strategy of the smartphone industry can be divided into two categories. Before dominant design emerge, the competition methods of company are mainly based on patent applications and patent litigation; after that, it mainly focused on the R&D expenses, M&A, supply chain integration, sales channel layout, and brand loyalty. (2) Use product life cycle to divide the time periods into four parts. The Early and Growth stage investment of the marketing expense of company has a greater influence than in Maturity stage; The Maturity stage investment of the R&D expenses of company has a greater influence than in Early and Growth stage (3) According to the results of the BCG Matrix, the overall operating efficiency of all companies are maintained at an average level, representing operational efficiency as the basis of corporate competition. The Malmquist Index is an important index that can identify whether a company can continue to grow. The investment in R&D expenses, M&A, supply chain integration are key factors that influence the Malmquist Index.

In the past, the main force of Taiwan''s economic development is the traditional manufacturing industry. After decades of changes in industrial structure, actual production plants of many factories have been moved to the outside of Taiwan only the of the administration center to stay in Taiwan. As of today, the number of manufacturing sector in Taiwan have been gradually diminished. However, the actual production capacity is very important to a country. Steel pipe and pipe fittings is infrastructure components that were used as a framework for plant pipeline in the establishment of a factory, which were used in petrochemical, chemical, construction, medical, nuclear, high-tech industries when factories, maintenance required. The method in this study is the case interview, and we interviewed with seven main production company of stainless steel pipe fittings industry in Taiwan to understand the competitive situation of the stainless steel pipe fittings industry in Taiwan. And intends to interview about dimensions of competitive strategy, response mode, human resources, marketing, customer development, product, valuable resources. Then learned that the various manufacturers of competitive strategy, competitive advantage, and then identify each vendor''s market position in the market. The study found that, relatively speaking, Taiwan is still the base of the stainless steel pipe industry. Every year, Taiwan still import foreign pipe fittings. This suggest that there is a growth space of the pipe industry in the domestic market. This paper investigates the competition of hemodialysis industry in Taiwan and discusses how hemodialysis treatment providers deal with the changes in the market competition environment. Specifically, this paper uses a series of empirical model settings to understand how the hemodialysis treatment providers use the strategy of “market stealing” while confronting the change of market competition. Dataset used is mainly from Taiwan’s National Health Insurance Research Dataset (NHIRD) covering from 1996 to 2001. The competition of a provider is measured by the number of hospitals (and clinics) located in the market where it resides at. The “market stealing” behavior of a hospital or clinic is characterized by the ratio of hemodialysis received by patients transferred from other providers (“half-new patients”) to that received by total number of patients in this provider. Furthermore, the empirical technique of first-difference is employed for controlling for the unobservable factors, such as the quality and convenience of traffic of a hospital or clinic. Results are as follows. Firstly, one additional new entrant significantly increases the ratio of hemodialysis received by “half-new patients” to that by total patients in the provider by 0.0023%~0.0227%. This result is robust when we use different distance to measure the market In addition, this relationship is even clearer for private, lower ranked (clinics) and southern hospitals or clinics. Lastly, responding to one new market entrant, a hospital or clinic is usually “stealing” patients from providers with the same accreditation level (0.011%) or lower level(0.0012%) Our findings show that the more competitive in a market, the more significant the phenomenon of “stealing” patients is. It also indicates a tough competition environment in the hemodialysis treatment industry in Taiwan. However, the impact of such competition on medical quality is unknown and is worth for further investigations. In addition, the authorities should pay attention to the competition in this industry while establishing related policy.

The thesis intends to discuss that during the peirod of 2003 to Q1 2007,how did the challenger AMD (Advance Micro Device) with only15% market share, seach for breakthrough with a newly developed technology of x86 64 bit and a succeful regional strategy; at the time of event, the leader Intel was equipped with 85% market share, establish technology innovation mechnism. Then we will go on to discuss how the leader fight back facing certain damages in market share with price war and even faster technology architecture innovation The discussion will focus on imprtance of regional startegy, in normal cases, hedquater will form up a startegy to impact regional startegy in one direction. What we have different contrtibution in the thesis is to explore the other direction that regional startegy could have critical impact on global startegy, particuarly in a regional with high density of industrial complementor and high groeth momentum customers (in our case of greater China area) . The thesis will apply value net framework and start discussion from core competence of two rivals Intel and AMD,analyse through those to understand how the alignment of strategy with corecompetence can impact comptition consquence. The thesis discussed the complementor (ODM) and Customer (OEM) in detail specically on the motivation and incetive to final ratio attribution of CPU camp. Then it apply some simple game theory development to explain how regcomplementor and customers react during period of 2003 to 2005.We then explore how AMD applies those knowlogy to affect reginal compemetor and regional customers and apply those success to get attention and cooperation of larger customer; during which we put stress on the critical impact of Chinese government policy. And for the 2006 to Q1 2007 period,we stated how Intel fight back through different appoaches of price war and accelerated architechtur innovation,we can also see trace of impact from regional strategy and how Chinese government policy have been taken into their new global and regional strategy.

Full text
Abstract:
A manufacturer or supplier that wishes to distribute its product and/or to expand its selling operations in its own or a foreign country must be concerned with a large body of specific laws and regulations, among others competition law. This thesis focuses on the Canadian Competition Act and its effect on such business relationships, specifically distribution agreements. In the first chapter I briefly define the distribution agreement, discuss its main legal implications, and deal with exclusivity provisions usually included in such agreements. With respect to the distribution of goods and in particular to an exclusive distribution agreement, the provisions of the Competition Act dealing with reviewable matters and resale price maintenance are the most important ones. The second chapter contains an analysis of these provisions in general and in the context of the exclusive distribution agreement in particular. In the third chapter I discuss the impact of these provisions on distribution agreements and the question of whether they are able to serve the main purpose of the Competition Act. In doing so, I concentrate on two major issues: What is the impact of Canada's Competition Act on an exclusive distribution agreement, and why does the Act treat resale price maintenance in a different way than it treats non-price vertical restraints? After having analyzed the most important provisions regarding distribution agreements, I conclude that the impact of competition law on the process of product distribution, especially with respect to exclusive distribution agreements, is not as significant as it may seem. This is true at least with respect to reviewable practices. Many of the practices a manufacturer or supplier uses to distribute its products are common and not illegal per se. Moreover, the provisions with respect to reviewable matters do not present a significant barrier for a supplier who promotes and sells its product through a vertical distribution system. This is mainly due to the requirements of the different provisions which narrow the scope of their applications significantly. Only where a supplier has a strong position in the market and deals with a particular product which cannot be substituted easily, competition law might have a major impact. However, the situation is different for the practice of resale price maintenance. A per se offence, the resale price maintenance provision applies to any supplier regardless of its size or position in the market. For this reason and because of the fact that an attempt to influence prices upward is sufficient for a prohibition, this provision is of significant importance for distribution agreements. In consequence, I argue that these conclusions with respect to both reviewable matters and the practice of resale price maintenance do not collide with the objectives of competition policy that are predominant in Canada in the present day; they rather support this finding.

With the rapid development of mobile device and broadband network, the mobile service has become the medium for the public to make contact with enterprise and mobile service experience is also the key for customers to continue to use entity service. The development of mobile banking has been quite mature in European and American area, while the usage rate of mobile banking in Taiwan has not yet been popularized in an all-around way, the bank density in Taiwan is very high and the competition between banks is very fierce. Therefore, it will be particularly important to have good internal management and external competition analysis. IPGA, DEMATEL, QFD, MBO, SIPA and other research methods have been proved to be effective to improve service quality efficiently and make a comparison in competition and have been widely used in various fields, but scholars have never integrated them together to establish systematic model. Therefore, with the combined diversified opinions of consumers, experts (managers and scholars) and staffs, this research integrates IPGA, DEMATEL, QFD and MBO to analyze the optimization of mobile banking service and then applies SIPA to analyze the competition of mobile banking. First of all, by means of IPGA, DEMATEL, QFD and MBO, it can be found from the research results of the optimization of mobile service that privacy and safety, compensation and system availability are the main dimensions to be improved in service quality, and system availability and efficiency are the service quality factors to be improved preferentially. Therefore, the appointment of outstanding information talents and the purchase of high-quality system and equipment are the primary tasks for enterprise to carry out service optimization strategy. In order to implement the above-mentioned strategies, this research establishes the schedule control of management by objectives of mobile banking and performance evaluation form which have the practical value. In the end, SIPA is used to analyze external competition of mobile service and it is found that the main competition disadvantages of CTBC Bank are privacy, safety and efficiency. Thus, it is suggested that CTBC Bank should put more emphasis on customer privacy, intensify safety protection mechanism and improve system efficiency, so as to establish the level of trust of brand and increase customer loyalty. It is proved by empirical result that the 5-stage service excellence and competition analysis model established in this research can be really used as the methods to analyze the excellence of internal service quality and external competitors. Thus, it is suggested that the follow-up scholars should apply this model to other related service industries to carry out service quality excellence and competition analysis.

The audit market of China is low market share, competitive, low quality of audit phenomenon, on the contrary to oligopoly audit. Previous studies showed that one of the reasons is the lack of demand to high quality accountants. Although the Chinese government in the early 1990 asked local-government-affiliated auditors to delink from the government but still can’t improve auditors’ quality and independence. Since a series of scandals outbreak, the Government promote a series of reforms to protect shareholders'' interests. I use the number of customers to calculate the Herfindahl index, as a proxy for market competition, and use Ordered Probit regression models to detect the relationship between the audit market share and these reasons which are China’s legal environment’s reform, Full Circulation Reform, the percentage owned by QFII ,and some industries. My empirical results show that executing the legal environment promote, the split share structure reform, the QFII system, and some rules to choose a large accounting firm services for enhance the audit market share, reduce competition in the market up to a certain extent, except in terms of the QFII foreign institutional investors. In order to attract foreign institutional investors and improve corporate governance mechanisms to enhance the quality of the accounting firm audit market more robust ,environmental regimes need to be strengthened to improve.

Take the champions and first runner-ups from the five international badminton tournaments in 2010 for example. The analysis is as follows: 1, Either winning or losing side doesn’t have significant difference on each hitting moment, interval time, and every winning stroke. (p>.o5) 2, Game techniques: Victory and defeat are less correlated with the techniques. (p<.o5) For the last strike of winning technique, winning and losing side are less correlated. (p>.o5) 3, Placement of strokes and types of losing points: Winning and losing side are less correlated with the serving placement. (p>.o5) Winning and losing side are correlated with the hitting placement. (p<.o5) Winning and losing side are less correlated with the types of losing points. (p>.o5) The conclusion is as follows: 1, The elite female doubles must especially focus on the stability of controlling and anti-controlling stalemate to elevate the scoring rate. 2, The usage rate of elite female doubles techniques would vary due to the opponents’ advantages themselves and external factors but the most techniques are demonstrated on the mid, front-court techniques as the main ones. 3, The smashing technique of elite female doubles becomes the most useful one to win for the last strike. 4, Due to the fact that the skillfulness of the elites are relatively mature, it’s difficult to score by attacking straightly to opponents. So the gray area of the mid-court becomes the main attack-area then. 5, For the women’s doubles, though “Hitting out” is still the most common consequence, it’s still divided into two types as “active” hitting-out and “passive” hitting-out.On the contrary, if you like to win, avoiding the “active” hitting-out and decreasing the preposition of “passive” hitting out are the first two priorities to execute.
