Abstract:
For subsequent births, women who have experienced previous caesarean section facea choice between elective caesarean section and trial of labour. The study reported inthis paper utilises Australian hospital data to compare birth outcomes and healthsystem costs of these two options. Although trial of labour is more expensive if the resultis an emergency caesarean section, high rates of successful vaginal delivery mean that, overall, trial of labour is found to be 30- per cent less expensive than elective caesareansection. It is estimated that trial of labour remains the most cost-effective optio

Abstract:
Prices and costs are often the main points of interest in a typical competitiveness analysis. If studying prices cover the inflation and exchange rate perspectives, studying costs usually covers the relationship between labour costs and labour productivity. Strictly focusing on the labour side within the cost analysis does not offer a complete cost-overview of the production process. In this paper we try to complement the toolbox for assessing competitiveness in Slovenia and the rest of the euro area countries by constructing a unit capital cost index (UKC).

Abstract A comprehensive OPEX analysis for both municipal and industrial wastewaters has been conducted encompassing energy, critical component (membrane) replacement, chemicals consumption, waste disposal and labour. The analysis was preceded by a review of recent data on industrial effluent treatability with reference to published chemical oxygen demand (COD) removal data for four effluent types: food and beverage, textile, petroleum and landfill leachate. Outcomes revealed labour costs to be the most significant of those considered, contributing 50% of the OPEX for a 10,000 m3/day capacity
