Abstract:
The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been the most popular tool for the field of decision making in the past 30 years, because of its simplicity and rationality. Construct a hierarchy system for evaluation by decision makers. Hence, only the effect of outer-dependence can be considered in the AHP. However, besides outer-dependence, correlation is another common effect between criteria which cannot be accounted for neither by the AHP nor by the analytic network process (ANP). Hence, in this paper, we extend the AHP to consider the correlation effect. In addition, a biobjective programming model is proposed to derive the result. Furthermore, the traditional AHP can be considered as the special case of the proposed model when the correlation effect between criteria is ignored. Finally, a numerical example is given to justify the proposed method and compare the result with the AHP.

Abstract:
In FAHP, discontinuous scale, such as 0.1-0.9 scale, is usually used to get fuzzy judgment matrix. But when evaluating system is complex or index systems are too many, we may get stuck in a comparison dilemma by using 0.1-0.9 scale, resulting in a fuzzy judgment matrix of poor consistency. This paper improved 0.1-0.9 scale and established 0-1 continuous scale. We first apply 0-1 three scales to get a comparison matrix, and then converted it into a fuzzy judgment matrix according to 0-1 continuous scale.

Abstract:
For choosing the best decision in daily agricultural practice, it is very important to formalize the decision process using systems analysis and mathematical methods. Theory of the decision-making under uncertainty or under risk supposes one criterion. In practice, the best solution is chosen under more decision criteria. Decision problem with m alternatives, n states of nature and k criteria has to be solved in this case. Application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) for solution of this problem is described in this paper.

In the study, the method based on the combination of analytic hierarchy process(AHP) and fuzzy theory is proposed to evaluate civil aviation airport security information management. Assessment indexes of civil aviation airport security information management are studied and given, and the hierarchic tree is formulated based on assessment indexes of civil aviation airport security information management. On the basis of describing evaluation indexes for civil aviation airport security information management, and the evaluation model of civil aviation airport security information management is constructed based on fuzzy analytic hierarchy process. Abstract:
Business enterprises need to show high performance in their industries in order to achieve a sustainable competition. This is not related only to individual performances, and each link on supply chain may have a considerable effect on business performance. Therefore, supply chain management is quite essential to the enterprises that supplier selection is one of its key elements to be run, and another is establishing the form of packaging before the supplier delivers the ordered raw materials. Raw material costs are influenced by the ability to determine such issues as packaging way, type of case, etc., and these factors are also important to maintain the quality of material. The aim of this study is to select the type of the case for raw materials to be placed in by the supplier, in the automobile industry with very intense competition. In order to solve this multi-criteria decision making problem, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), one of the multi-criteria decision making techniques, was used. Due to the ambiguity in several paired comparisons, the problem was also resolved using the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (Fuzzy AHP).

Abstract:
Objective. To compare the Business process management and the analytic hierarchy process as the tools of process performance assessment. Instruments and Methods. Case study of the attention process of rheumatology patients. Business process management and analytic hierarchy process were applied to assess the redesign of the attention process. The two methods were compared. The data were obtained through personal observations, an interview with a Colombian health insurer’s senior executive, and retrospective documentary analysis. Results. Both methods assessed the process redesign as an improvement. While Business process management made a qualitative evaluation, the analytic hierarchy process allowed for a quantitative approach. Conclusions. Business process management is helpful in process performance assessment because it offers a conceptual foundation. Analytic hierarchy process is a complement which makes the intuitions based on business process management rigorous.

Abstract:
The success of a New Product Development (NPD) process strongly depends on the deep comprehension of market needs and Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) has been commonly used to find weights for customers' preferences. AHP best practices suggest that low-consistency respondents should be considered untrustworthy; however, in some NPD cases – such as the one presented here – this stake can be extremely big. This paper deals with the usage of AHP methodology to define the weights of customer needs connected to the NPD process of a typical impulse buying good, a snack. The aim of the paper is to analyse in a critical way the opportunity to exclude or include non-consistent respondents in market analysis, addressing the following question: should a non-consistent potential customer be excluded from the analysis due to his inconsistency or should he be included because, after all, he is still a potential consumer? The chosen methodological approach focuses on evaluating the compatibility of weight vectors among different subsets of respondents, filtered according to their consistency level. Results surprisingly show that weights do not significantly change when non-consistent respondents are excluded.

Abstract:
We present an application of the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in the sensitivity analysis of a multi-parameter decision support problem. In this problem, the Multi-Parametric Sensitivity Analysis (MPSA) appears appropriate and is employed. A drawback of MPSA is that it only produces a sensitivity comparison between every two parameters, and does not offer a systematic method for ranking all parameters at once. Without the overall sensitivity ranking, it is difficult to interpret the analysis result from MPSA, especially when the number of parameters is large. Our paper shows that AHP can be used to perform such ranking based on MPSA's pair-wise comparisons.
