Abstract:
The methodology for applying the numerical-analytical boundary elements method to the calculation of reinforced concrete and fiber-reinforced concrete culverts is considered. The force state of the pipe as part of the road embankment from the action of the soil mass and moving vehicle load is determined by an alternating diagram of bending moments with a maximum positive moment in the ridge and trough sections and a maximum negative moment in the side sections, which necessitates the need for double rod reinforcement. Such reinforcement has low efficiency. It is difficult to ensure the design

We construct an efficient numerical-analytical method for solving the initial-boundary value problem for the Burgers equation on a segment with a periodic boundary condition. The method includes the reduction to a linear problem based on an explicit-implicit time discretization scheme and an analytical solution of an auxiliary linear problem at each time step using the explicit form of the corresponding Green’s function. The efficiency of the constructed method is due to the fact that the algorithm for solving the auxiliary problem has only linear complexity in terms of the number of spatial d

A variant of the numerical-analytical method in the nonlinear mechanics of reinforced concrete is proposed. Calculation models make it possible to take into account a number of important factors, such as discrete cracks, the effect of concrete discontinuity, and reinforcement reactions in a crack. When solving the inverse problem of determining the width of the crack opening, the deformation effect is not set, but is modeled using the “joining” of the assigned minimum possible width, its opening under the appropriate loading. There are many difference methods for turbine blade cooling which have received serious attention and research effort. Most of them use basically the same method that passes the amount of cooling air through the turbine blade. These methods can disturb the hot gas since the cooling air is injected into the main stream gas, which may reduce the turbine engine's efficiency. For accurate prediction of the non-linear dynamic response over the lifetime of the structure, fretting wear should be considered in the analysis. Abstract:
The primary information for accurately predicting water and solute movement and their impact on water quality is the characterization of soil hydraulic properties. This project was designed to develop methods for rapid and reliable estimates of unsaturated hydraulic properties of the soil. Particularly, in situ methodology is put forth, based on subsurface point sources. Devices were designed to allow introduction of water in subsurface settings at constant negative heads. The ability to operate at a negative head allows a direct method of finding unsaturated soil properties and a mechanism fo

Abstract:
In light of the immense compositional diversity of high-entropy materials (HEMs) recently reported (e.g., high-entropy chalcogenides, perovskites, ceramics, etc.) and the relatively amorphous definition of High-Entropy, it is imperative that consistent material classification and benchmarking practices be employed to facilitate comparison between reported figures of merit. In this opinion, an updated form of the numerical high-entropy definition is reviewed, which renders a universal entropy metric applicable to high-entropy alloys and emerging HEMs alike. Analytical methods to verify the exis
