Abstract:

Feministické bádání jako analytická tradice a intervencionistický projekt již dlouho zkoumá hranice, jež jsou hluboce vepsány do západního myšlení a pojetí racionality. Tento článek vychází z myšlenky, že schopnost v praxi destabilizovat hranice pokulhává za důmyslností analýz opakovaného utváření hranic. Jádrem feministické praxe je zájem zpochybňovat nákresy hranic a měnit to, co je považováno za přirozené, normální či skutečné. Mimo svůj vlastní „okrsek“ však feministé a feministky mohou být při tvoření těchto interferencí do přijímaných způsobů myšlení a jednání méně úspěšní. Článek se hlásí k feministické výzvě přijmout „neúspěch“ výzkumné intervence a prozkoumat to, jak „se může stát zdrojem nebo příležitostí pro nové (ač ne nutně účinnější) strategie, modely, interpretace a způsoby bytí“. Na příkladu prezentace o příležitostech a nebezpečích vědecké excelence autorka přezkoumává své vlastní intervence a intervence svých diskusních partnerů. Analýza je vedena úvahami o tom, jak lépe hovořit o genderu a genderování, jak ho pojmenovat, aniž bychom ho zredukovali na něco pevného a jednotného a zkoumané znovu vepsali do dominantních reprezentací.

Nevertheless, it is only during the last 25 years when the economists and legal scholars – have turned their attention in a systematic way to the analysis of torts, contracts, and criminal law. In spite of the youth of the sub-discipline that examines these branches, it has quickly become a discipline of great significance in the U. S. and, to a lesser extentin, Europe.We can also say, that the economic analysis of the tort liability is one of the most important achievements of law and economics. The main economic insight is that exposure to tort liability may induce potential victims and injurers to take actions before an accident occurs, which will minimize the social costs of accidents (where these social costs include the precautionary costs of victims and injurers, the accident losses suffered by both parties and the administrative costs of determining liability).In early times a person was held liable for wrongdoing if he acted without right (iniuria), and only if the death or the injury was the result of a direct contact between the body of the wrongdoer and the thing. After this period, in classical times, after an extensive interpretation of the text of the above mentioned lex, the wrongdoer had also be willful, negligent and reasonably foreseeable, i.e. his acting had to include dolus or culpa (neglegentia) . It is also obvious that the modern civil law constantly revolves around the terminology and constructions formed in the Roman law or on the grounds of the Roman law.One of aims of this paper is to show the similarities and the influences of Roman law on the modern legal systems in the sphere of civil liability founded on a principle o f fault- culpa. Another one is to elucidate possible factors which may lay under the development of this ancient concepts and also to attempt to establish a framework for examination of Roman legal rules through the intellectual apparatus provided by the modern Law & Economics.

Pasar dengan lokasi yang strategis akan mempengaruhi minat masyarakat untuk mengunjungi lokasi tersebut dalam pemenuhan kebutuhan sehari-hari. Adanya penentuan lokasi pasar bukan hanya menjadi keputusan dari pemerintah, akan tetapi juga keinginan dan pemangku kepentingan dari para pengelola dan pengguna pasar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui lokasi Pasar Sidotopo Wetan berdasarkan hasil kajian faktor lokasi penentu pasar. Pendekatan dalam penelitian ini adalah metodetheoritical analytic dan empirical analytic. Metode theoritical analytic menggunakankonstruksi teori untuk melandasi perumusan faktor-faktor pertimbangan dalam menentukanlokasi pasar berdasarkan teori-teori yang ada.Berdasarkan hasil analisis dengan menggunakan Metode Analytical HeirarchyProcess dengan nilai Inconsistency 0.02, kriteria yang paling berpengaruh dalampenetuan lokasi Pasar Sidotopo Wetan adalah faktor sosial ekonomi. Abstract:

Případová studie představuje subjektivní teorie řídící jednání učitelky humanitních předmětů ve škole s obtížnými podmínkami. Navazuje na předchozí publikace autora, které šíře vymezily výzkumný koncept, cíle a metodologii. Studie představuje základní analytické přístupy ke zpracování dat sebraných v přirozeném prostředí realizace výuky: (a) rekonstruování subjektivních teorií učitelky, (b) ověření jejich adekvátnosti porovnáním s reálnou výukou, (c) sémantické porovnání subjektivních teorií řídících jednání učitelky s informacemi o jejím profesním rozvoji, (d) analýza a diskuse kongruence zjištění v kontextu pedagogické vědy; a otevírá tak možnosti pro další analýzy a syntetické zpracování sebraných dat, které svým rozsahem již překračují rámec a možnosti této studie. Případová studie naznačuje, že sledovaná učitelka sdílí některé charakteristiky s učiteli experty (Píšová et al., 2013). Ukázala se též vysoká míra konzistence jejího myšlení a jednání, stejně jako vysoká míra zvažování a uvažování o vlastním jednání v širším kontextu jejího profesního rozvoje (Hargreaves & Fullan, 2012). V závěru studie jsou shrnuty poznatky a formulována doporučení pro další výzkum subjektivních teorií učitelky v kontextu jejího profesního rozvoje.

Abstract:

The aim of the paper is to present ephemeral printed texts as an object of a linguistic description as well as to submit the model of analysis in practice. Texts called as ephemera are usually an object of a non-linguistically targeted interdisciplinary approach, although ephemera, regardless of type and style, can be subject to the scheme of a linguistic analysis. The submitted Linguera model (lingua et ephemera) enables meticulous analysis of an ephemeral text followed by its detailed and accurate analysis. The model focuses on such aspects as the role of context, evaluative language, contents and form of ephemera, as well as analytical map designing. The proposal of analysis is presented on the material of the ephemera collection from the Free City of Danzig (1920 – 1939).

Abstract. Which data to analyze, and how, are fundamental questions of all empirical research. As there are always numerous flexibilities in data-analytic decisions (a “garden of forking paths”), this poses perennial problems to all empirical research. Specification-curve analysis and multiverse analysis have recently been proposed as solutions to these issues. Building on the structural analogies between primary data analysis and meta-analysis, we transform and adapt these approaches to the meta-analytic level, in tandem with combinatorial meta-analysis. We explain the rationale of this idea, suggest descriptive and inferential statistical procedures, as well as graphical displays, provide code for meta-analytic practitioners to generate and use these, and present a fully worked real example from digit ratio (2D:4D) research, totaling 1,592 meta-analytic specifications. Specification-curve and multiverse meta-analysis holds promise to resolve conflicting meta-analyses, contested evidence, controversial empirical literatures, and polarized research, and to mitigate the associated detrimental effects of these phenomena on research progress.

Abstract:

Cílem předkládané studie je podat přehled o českém výzkumu interakce ve výuce angličtiny. Interakci chápeme jako vzájemné ovlivňování mezi učitelem a žáky během výuky. Na interakci ve třídě nahlížíme pohledem dialogismu, který chápeme jako teoretický a epistemologický rámec předpokládající interakci jako jednotku analýzy. V přehledové studii analyzujeme 9 empirických studií uveřejněných v letech 2006–2014 jako články v časopise, knihy, kapitoly v knize nebo disertační práce. Tyto studie byly kriticky analyzovány z pohledu dialogismu. Významným zjištěním je například skutečnost, že řada studií se zabývala jazykem učitele (teacher talk), především otázkami učitele a používáním cílového a mateřského jazyka. Tyto a další oblasti výzkumu porovnáváme s odrazem zahraniční situace ve vybraných přehledech výzkumu a poukazujeme na mezery v tuzemském výzkumu. Co se týče metodologie výzkumu (a s ní souvisejících teoretických východisek), řada studií při analýze interakce ve třídě abstrahovala od kontextu. Činnost jednotlivců (učitele, žáků) tvořila v řadě studií analytickou jednotku spíše než samotná interakce. Tato zjištění naznačují, že v empirickém výzkumu nebyl dialogismus příliš uplatněn.

“ETEC 565A: Understanding Learning Analytics” was a new course offered in a Master of Educational Technology programme in UBC in January 2019. In order to support students exploring learning analytics in a more relevant way to them, the final project allows students to choose their own learning analytics adventure. This presentation will be a showcase and a reflection of learning from our final (group) project. Our group wanted to focus on learning design and learning analytics. There has been a lot of interests in learning analytics in higher education, it has been appearing in the EDUCAUSE’s Horizon report for many years as a technology to adopt. We also know that learning technologies should support the educational goals. Therefore, it is important for us to understand, how would one combine learning design with learning analytics. Our instructor guided to Lockyer, Heathcote and Dawson (2013)’s work. Their article presented “learning design as a form of documentation of pedagogical intent that can provide the context for making sense of diverse sets of analytic data” (p.1439). Lockyer et al (2013) explored using the checkpoint and process analytics as broad categories of learning analytics and how through this documentation of pedagogical intent and the related learning analytics that can be collected, could support pedagogical actions. Our instructor has given us permission to use our course as an example to apply Lockyer et al (2013)’s framework and conduct our analysis on the course. Our group also had access to some learning analytics data ourselves, through the “Threadz” tool for analysing our discussion forum activities. For all other types of data that we did not have access to, we made comments on what the data could be used for, and if it would provide enough information to assess if the pedagogical intent was met. Comments were also made about potential data that could have been better for informing pedagogical actions but were either not possible to get or too difficult and unpractical. In the presentation, I will share some backgrounds for the Lockyer et al (2013)’s framework for aligning learning analytics with learning design, how one could use the framework to document their own course design and identify potential learning analytics data sources or the lack of. As the framework provides teachers and designers a tool to think, plan and reflect with. I will discuss some of our group’s findings and reflections from the analysis of our own online course. Then discuss about potentials of using such framework on a more traditional face-to-face course. As institutions and courses collect more data about their students, it is useful to have a framework to help teachers think about how they might use the learning analytics data to support their students through examining and documenting their pedagogical intents. It is also important to note what the existing data can and cannot do to support pedagogical goals.

Abstract:

Zjawisko rozwoju regionalnego należy do bardzo złożonych i istotnych z punktu widzenia procesów zarówno społecznych, jak i ekonomicznych. Jest ono analizowane w ramach nauk społecznych, głownie z perspektywy ekonomii. Niemniej istotne wydaje się jednak także uwzględnienie aspektów związanych z procesem zarządzania rozwojem regionalnym. Taki właśnie kontekst przyjęto w niniejszym artykule. Jego celem jest porównawcza ocena dystansu rozwojowego dla pary sąsiadujących ze sobą województw – małopolskiego i podkarpackiego. Realizując te zamierzenia, w pierwszej kwestii dokonano przeglądu literatury dotyczącej teorii rozwoju regionalnego, a w szczegolności zagadnień potencjału i konkurencyjności regionów. Następnie przedstawiono modele badawcze, zbudowane z wykorzystaniem metody AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Na ich podstawie przeprowadzono analizę porównawczą, wskazując podobieństwa i różnice pomiędzy badanymi województwami. W badaniu wykorzystano zarówno wybrane zmienne statystyczne, jak i zmienne zagregowane, zbudowane na podstawie wymienionych modeli. Opierając się na przeprowadzonych badaniach, sformułowano ogólne wnioski dotyczące zarówno dotychczasowych efektów zarządzania rozwojem regionu, jak i działań koniecznych do podjęcia w przyszłości.

CZ: Přítomnost reziduí plastů v životním prostředí je v poslední době diskutována napříč společností kvůli zamořování oceánů a nedostatečné recyklaci plastových výrobků. Okem nepostřehnutelné mikroplasty, které se do vody dostávají užíváním produktů osobní péče a rozkladem syntetických polymerů nejsou v současnosti dostatečně odstraňovány při úpravě vody a mohou se dostávat do trávicího traktu konzumentů. Zdravotní rizika pro člověka nejsou doposud známá, přesto lze předpokládat, že bude výskyt mikroplastů ve vodách monitorován. Naším cílem bylo vypracování finančně dostupné a dostatečně přesné metody pro následnou analýzu mikroplastů ve vodách, jež by mohla být rutinně prováděna v kontrolních laboratořích. Vzorky vláken byly podrobeny předúpravě sloužící k izolaci syntetických mikrovláken od ostatních materiálů, které mohou způsobit zkreslení kvantitativní analýzy mikroplastů. Byla sledována reakce dvou testovaných materiálů na jejich expozici různým teplotním a oxidačním podmínkám s využitím peroxidu vodíku jako oxidačního činidla a změna barvy vláken. Jako optimální se jeví osmihodinová expozice vzorku v 30% roztoku peroxidu vodíku při teplotě 60 °C s následnou analýzou mikroplastů infračervenou spektroskopií (ATR-IR). Naše výsledky by mohly být využity při vytváření komplexní metodiky kvalitativního a kvantitativního hodnocení mikroplastů. EN: Occurrence of plastics in the natural environment is one of the hot topics in the area of environmental studies due to the ocean contamination and insufficient amount of plastics' recycling. Microplastics which cannot be seen by the naked eye are not effectively removed from the water during drinking water treatment and afterwards they enter the human body through the digestive tract. Even though there is no evidence of harmful effects on health, it is assumed that the presence of microplastics in water will be monitored. Our work was aimed on the development of a methodology for the pretreatment of synthetic microfibers based microplastics followed by their subsequent infrared analysis, which can be routine performed in laboratories. Microfibers were subjected to various thermal and oxidative conditions, where hydrogen peroxide was used as an oxidizing agent. Effects of the exposure on changes in chemical structure and colour of fibres were analysed. Optimal exposure conditions for plastic microfibers' pretreatment concerns the exposure in 30% solution of hydrogen peroxide at 60 °C for 8 hours followed by infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR). We believe that our results can be utilized for the creating complex methodology of qualitative and quantitative microplastics' evaluation.

Povzetek V prispevku opredeljujemo ožji koncept načrtovanja obrambnih virov (poudarek je na finančnih virih), ki temelji na dejanjih in rezultatih ter presega odločitve le na podlagi intuicije za doseganje boljših rezultatov pri odločanju, razporejanju in načrtovanju vojaških sredstev ter zmogljivosti. Viri v sodobnih vojaških organizacijah so omejeni in prav njihova načrtna/namenska dodelitev in racionalna izraba oziroma poraba predstavlja velik izziv sodobnega načrtovanja. Za doseganje optimalnih rezultatov je zelo pomembno razumevanje in poznavanje obstoječih virov, njihovo razporejanje in upravljanje znotraj vojaške organizacije. Nepravilno razporejeni viri prinašajo dodatne negativne posledice, kot so višji stroški, tehnološki zaostanek in zmanjševanje možnosti reševanja življenj. Z analitičnim pristopom upravljanja se oblikuje temeljna podlaga za raziskovanje vzrokov, procesov in pojavov odstopanj od načrtovanja virov skozi kratkoročna, srednjeročna in dolgoročna obdobja obrambnega načrtovanja. Predstavljena je metodologija procesa obrambnega načrtovanja, ki je osredotočena predvsem na kvantitativne pristope kot komplementarni del kvalitativnemu segmentu raziskovanja. Ključne besede: Upravljanje virov, intuicija, analiza stroškov in koristi, ekonomska analiza, matematični analitični modeli, proces odločanja. Abstract In the article, we define a narrow concept of defence expenditure planning (with the emphasis on financial resources), which is based on the acts and results and exceeds intuition-based decisions and achieve better results in decision making, allocating and planning of military assets and capabilities. Resources in modern military organizations are limited and it is their planned or eligible allocation and rational use and consumption that represent a major challenge in modern planning. In order to achieve optimum results, understanding and awareness of the existing resources, their allocation and management within a military organization are crucial. Incorrectly allocated resources bring additional adverse consequences, such as higher costs, technological backlog and reduced possibility of saving lives. An analytical management approach creates the basis for exploring the causes, processes and phenomena of deviations from resource planning through short-term, medium-term and long-term defence planning periods. The article presents the methodology of the defence planning process, which is mainly focused on quantitative approaches as a complementary part of the qualitative research segment. Key words: Resource management, intuition, cost-benefit analysis, economic analysis, mathematical analytical models, decision-making process.

Abstract:

Following the path established in Serbian anthropology by the subdiscipline of the anthropology of film, as well as the anthropological "section" for the study of science fiction, the analytical focus of this paper is the film Men and Chicken. Contrary to critics who saw in this film "an unreadable, morbid and cynical postmodern horror", the basic thesis of this paper is that the film helps us not only to question public ideas about science, but also to shed light on the hopes, fears and conceptual dilemmas caused by the advance of biotechnologies. It helps us to, using a product of popular culture close to the experience of the general public, analyze the way in which the imaginarium of the film deals with the "paradox at the heart" of western thought - the simultaneous claim that humans are animals and that animality is the polar opposite of what we hold to be human. The paradox in question need not be an intellectual chew toy for a bored mind, nor an opportunity for demonstrating the wondrous power of an analytical process of Levi-Straussian calibre, rather a very relevant question in current institutional and public discussions on creating hybrid embryos/species at the heart of which are attempts to establish the biological, moral and cultural status of humans, non-humans and hybrids.

Abstract:

The paper aims to explain the development of the perception of national identity of the Christian Democratic Party (CDU), the strongest German political party in the past few decades. The paper focuses on election manifestos for the 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2005, and 2009 elections. For this purpose, each manifesto is examined according to up to five analytical categories – such as values, nation, Europe, threats, and society. These categories explore the party’s perception in a wider context instead of focusing only on direct references to national identity. The analysed period was divided into three phases with an emphasis on the internal crisis between the years 1998 and 2002. The crisis influenced policy priorities; therefore the perceptions of elements belonging to national identity were changed in order i) to gain victory in the general elections in 2002 and 2005, and ii) to reflect properly the state of German society. Therefore, significant policy shifts were made. These policy changes show how the party successfully integrated societal demands and preferences over the past decade. Thank to this, the CDU incorporated both conservative and liberal elements. This is evident in the case of incorporating liberal elements such as homosexual partnerships while, at the same time, actively stressing the importance of defending national interests.

Program Bus Trans Sarbagita sebagai salah satu bentuk transportasi masal hadir untuk menjawab persoalan kemacetan di Bali malah kurang mendapat sambutan yang baik untuk itu perlu diketahui faktor – faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi minat masyarakat Bali dalam memilih moda transportasi antara kendaraan pribadi dan transportasi masal agar dapat meningkatkan minat masyrakat Bali untuk menggunakan moda transportasi masal secara efektif.. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor – faktor yang mempengaruhi pelaku perjalanan dalam pemilihan moda antara transportasi masal dan kendaraan pribadi menggunakan Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) dengan studi exploratif dengan responden pengguna moda yang dipandang sebagai expert dalam sudut pandang pemilihan moda transportasi.Hasil analisis diperoleh bahwa keselamatan (28,3%) menjadi faktor utama dalam pemilihan moda transportasi yang diikuti oleh faktor keamanan (23,3%), kehandalan (12,3%), kenyamanan (11,7%), kebersihan (10,2%), aksesibilitas (8,4%), dan biaya (5,8%) untuk solusi kendaraan pribadi (74.4% ) menjadi moda transportasi teroilih dibandimgkan dengan kendaraan umum (25.6%.) berdasarkan faktor – faktor tersebut.

Abstract:

Communicating in social and public environments are considered professional skills that can strongly influence career development. Therefore, it is important to proper train and evaluate students in this kind of abilities so that they can better interact in their professional relationships, during the resolution of problems, negotiations and conflict management. This is a complex problem as it involves corporal analysis and the assessment of aspects that until recently were almost impossible to quantitatively measure. Nowadays, a number of new technologies and sensors have being developed for the capture of different kinds of contextual and personal information, but these technologies were not yet fully integrated inside learning settings. In this context, this paper presents a framework to facilitate the analysis and detection of patterns of students in oral presentations. Four steps are proposed for the given framework: Data collection, Statistical Analysis, Clustering, and Sequential Pattern Mining. Data Collection step is responsible for the collection of students interactions during presentations and the arrangement of data for further analysis. Statistical Analysis provides a general understanding of the data collected by showing the differences and similarities of the presentations along the semester. The Clustering stage segments students into groups according to well-defined attributes helping to observe different corporal patterns of the students. Finally, Sequential Pattern Mining step complements the previous stages allowing the identification of sequential patterns of postures in the different groups. The framework was tested in a case study with data collected from 222 freshman students of Computer Engineering (CE) course at three different times during two different years. The analysis made it possible to segment the presenters into three distinct groups according to their corporal postures. The statistical analysis helped to assess how the postures of the students evolved throughout each year. The sequential pattern mining provided a complementary perspective for data evaluation and helped to observe the most frequent postural sequences of the students. Results show the framework could be used as a guidance to provide students automated feedback throughout their presentations and can serve as background information for future comparisons of students presentations from different undergraduate courses.

Abstract:

The behaviour of a steel geodesic dome node, optimised from the aspect of its assembly, is characterized in the paper. It is an overlap connection with one bolt, where tubular members are flattened and additionally bent to obtain the required dome configuration. Results obtained by means of original laboratory testing and numerical analyses are compared with analytic values determined via simplified expressions for calculation of cross sectional resistance, i.e. govern failure mode. A structural solution is recommended in order to improve this dome connection behaviour and optimise the structure as a whole.

Cilj je ovim radom istražiti pojavnost korištenja metode analitičkog mrežnog procesa u sustavima za e-učenje kao metode za donošenje odluke temeljem više kriterija. Pretražene su znanstvene baze Scopus i WOS (Web of Science) prema odabranim ključnim riječima: „analytic network process“ i „e-learning system“, radovi koji su u otvorenom pristupu i u cijelosti na engleskom jeziku. Pronađena su 23 članka, od čega su dva članka bila indeksirana u obje baze pa se analiza temelji na 21 članku. Radovi su analizirani prema godini objave, državi prebivališta autora, broju izvora korištenih u pisanju radova, prosječnom broju autora koji su sudjelovali u izradi rada, publikaciji objave članaka te je izvršena kvalitativna analiza sadržaja radova o primjeni metode analitičkog mrežnog procesa ANP (engl. Analytic Network Process) u sustavima za e-učenje. Najviše je objavljenih radova u 2018. i 2020. godini, najčešća je država prebivališta autora Tajvan, a prosječan je broj autora po jednom radu 4. Kvalitativnom analizom sadržaja izdvojenih radova utvrđeno je da ni u jednom sustavu metoda ANP nije ugrađena u sam sustav već se navedena metoda koristi u istraživanjima vezanim uz evaluaciju sustava ili identifikaciju parametara potrebnih za njihovu izgradnju ili u nekom dijelu istraživanja koje uključuje sustav za e-učenje.

Background: The human intestinal microbiome plays a central role in overall health status, especially in early life stages. 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing is used to profile its taxonomic composition; however, multiomic approaches have been proposed as the most accurate methods for study of the complexity of the gut microbiota. In this study, we propose an optimized method for bacterial diversity analysis that we validated and complemented with metabolomics by analyzing fecal samples. Methods: Forty-eight different analytical combinations regarding (1) 16S rRNA variable region sequencing, (2) a feature selection approach, and (3) taxonomy assignment methods were tested. A total of 18 infant fecal samples grouped depending on the type of feeding were analyzed by the proposed 16S rRNA workflow and by metabolomic analysis. Results: The results showed that the sole use of V4 region sequencing with ASV identification and VSEARCH for taxonomy assignment produced the most accurate results. The application of this workflow showed clear differences between fecal samples according to the type of feeding, which correlated with changes in the fecal metabolic profile. Conclusion: A multiomic approach using real fecal samples from 18 infants with different types of feeding demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed 16S rRNA-amplicon sequencing workflow.
