Șlapac, Mariana, and Silviu Tabac. "THE PRESIDENT'S PALACE OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA." Akademos 2 (August 9, 2019): 136–46. https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.3364379.

Abstract:
The project of current the President’s Palace of the Republic of Moldova (former the Soviet Supreme of Moldovan Soviet Socialist Republic) was realized in 1980–1985 by architects Yuri Tumanyan, Arcady Zaltsman, Victor Iavorski and engineer Anatoly Liutîi. From a constructive point of view, it is an edifice designed from three blocks including the vertical core and two lower side annexes. The President’s Palace of the Republic of Moldova represents one of the first Moldovan buildings built in the postmodernist style. However, the authors of the project appealed not only to postmodernist models, but also to the national architectural and decorative patrimony (“stone flower”), using some stylized elements of the classical orders (pilasters, denticulated cornices, etc.), of the Caucasian architecture (“glhatun” or “darbazi” cover’s system, etc.) and the interwar architecture (cassette ceilings, etc.). This building is an important urban accent in the historical center of Chisinău and monument, which is readily recognizable bythe inhabitants of Chişinău, the capital’s guests and foreign tourists.

Galassi, Francesco M., and Raffaella Bianucci. "Special Monographic Issue on the History of Human Anatomy and the Anatomical Bases of Palaeopathology." Italian Journal of Anatomy and Embryology 126, no. 1 (2022): 3. http://dx.doi.org/10.36253/ijae-13918.

Abstract:
It is our distinguished pleasure to introduce this special monographic issue of the Italian Journal of Anatomy and Embryology dedicated to the topics of the history of the anatomical sciences and the morphological bases of palaeopathological studies. These two branches of human anatomy, though deemed interesting and relevant to the field by a large number of scholars worldwide, are too often neglected or not developed into a self-standing, productive field of research and teaching, especially in Italy. This is particularly sad and detrimental if one considers that human anatomy was reborn in Italy after centuries of intellectual stagnation first at Bologna thanks to the teaching of the Mediaeval scholar Mondino de’ Liuzzi and later, during the Renaissance, owing to the interest showed by artists in the correct representation of human morphology and bodily proportions.
This shows how rediscovering the discipline’s history inevitably leads its students to the realisation of the existence of an interplay between the figurative arts and the study of the human body, a bond which until the late 19th century was perceived as evident, self-explanatory and indissoluble. Moreover, it was precisely in that century that, from the anatomical discipline and its sub-branch osteology, stemmed biological anthropology, a subject which, now greatly enriched by biomolecular studies and by the assessment of mummified human remains, can help us discover the antiquity of humankind, its evolution as much as that of the diseases that characterised its historical path, a field traditionally called “palaeopathology”.
In this collection of contributions encompassing all of the aforementioned areas of research and anatomical knowledge, we aim to stimulate our colleagues and students to rediscover the importance of these topics and to develop them into a higher research platform capable of bridging the so-called hard biomedical sciences and the humanities.
Finally, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to Professor Domenico Ribatti, the journal’s editorial board and the Società Italiana di Anatomia e Istologia for kindly accepting our proposal and for the invaluable support they gave us throughout the editorial process. In addition, we would like to thank all the contributors and anonymous reviewers who have made this issue possible.

Huh, Tae-young, Ye-seul Kim, and Kyoung-min Kim. "The Effect of Combination Therapy of Yukmijihwang-tang and Western Medicine on Primary Glomerulonephritis: Systemic Review and Meta-analysis." Journal of Internal Korean Medicine 44, no. 1 (2023): 12–34. http://dx.doi.org/10.22246/jikm.2023.44.1.12.

Abstract:
Objective: This study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of the combination therapy of Yukmijihwang-tang and Western medicine on primary glomerulonephritis. Methods: We conducted a search using keywords, such as Yukmijihwang-tang and Liuwei Dihuang, in eight databases (CNKI, CiNii, Pubmed, Embase, Cochrane, Science On, OASIS, RISS). There was no limit to the publication period of the papers. A meta-analysis was conducted and classified according to the outcome measurements, such as the total effective rate (TER), serum creatinine (SCr), and blood urea nitrogen (BUN). Data analysis was performed using the RevMan 5.4.1 software, and Cochrane’s risk of bias (ROB) was used to assess the quality of the papers. Results: A total of 12 randomized control trials were selected. The meta-analysis showed that the treatment group combining Yumijihwang-tang and Western medicine was more efficient than the control group using Western medicine alone (RR: 1.29, CI: 1.20 to 1.39 p=<0.00001). The treatment group also reduced the BUN (MD: -2.40, CI: -2.90 to -1.89, p<0.00001) and Scr (MD: -33.34, CI: -40.85 to -25.82, P<0.00001) more than the control group. Conclusion: This study suggests that the combination therapy of Yukmijihwang-tang with Western medicine is effective in treating primary glomerulonephritis. However, these findings should be interpreted cautiously due to the unknown or high risk of bias in the included trials.

Abstract:
Ayrıca, çalışmamızda referans aldığımız diğer önemli kaynaklar arasında şunlar yer almaktadır: Castiglioni'nin "A History of Medicine", Siraisi'nin "Medieval & Early Renaissance Medicine An Introduction to Knowledge and Practice" ve Singer'ın "A Short History of Anatomy & Physiology from the Greeks to Harvey".
