Abstract:
The increasing complexity of enterprise workflows and regulatory environments has accelerated the need for robust, secure, and legally compliant digital signature solutions. As organizations continue to digitize their operations, integrating digital signature capabilities into enterprise systems has become a strategic imperative. SAP, as one of the most widely used enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms, serves as a foundational ecosystem where such integrations can dramatically enhance process automation, audit readiness, and operational agility. This research paper explores the convergence of SAP systems with DocuSign—one of the world’s leading digital signature platforms—focusing on the strategic, technical, and operational implications of embedding digital signatures directly into enterprise processes. The paper draws on implementation experiences and strategic leadership insights from Vaibhav Gupta, Senior Director of Digital Signature and Operations at Resolve Tech Solutions. With over 20 years of experience in global SAP rollouts, Gupta’s work in integrating DocuSign across various SAP landscapes illustrates how digital signature tools can be transformed from peripheral utilities into enterprise-wide value drivers. Through deep integration with SAP modules such as FI, MM, SD, and Workflow, the DocuSign platform has evolved into a critical layer that enhances approval cycles, ensures regulatory compliance, and minimizes manual intervention. This paper employs a case study approach supported by theoretical analysis, data trends, and qualitative feedback from key stakeholders involved in digital signature rollouts. It discusses the challenges of aligning enterprise security, compliance, and user experience in large-scale integrations and outlines the opportunities this convergence presents for future-ready digital enterprises. The study aims to position DocuSign-SAP integration as not just a technological choice but a strategic evolution in enterprise transformation.

Abstract:
In view of the increasing demand for care and staff shortages in Germany, innovative digital solutions are needed to optimise collaboration. Current processes for exchanging vital data and medication schedules are time-consuming and error-prone, which impairs the safety and efficiency of care. The aim of the Docs & Care Network project was to develop standards for structured data exchange and to promote seamless digital integration that enables vital data and medication plans to be transferred promptly and securely. The change management strategy applied in the project ensures that technical, organisational and interpersonal aspects of digitalisation are addressed in a targeted manner and that employees are actively involved. The workshops held have enabled process improvements that increase both the quality of patient care and the efficiency of collaboration between nursing and GP practices.

Abstract:
In a context characterized by increasing digitalization, teaching in general and language teaching in particular must keep pace with these trends by integrating digital literacy alongside language skills. The aim of this integration is to help learners develop not only language skills, but also the digital competencies they need for optimal professional and social integration. However, the way in which this integration is achieved remains a subject of reflection and a major challenge. This is the logic behind this work, which aims to suggest ways of integrating digital skills into a language course, based on an exploratory analysis of the DigComp and CEFR frameworks.

Abstract:
Introduction. Smart lifecycle services, along with the adoption of other smart manufacturing strategies, show significant potential to increase the productivity and competitiveness of enterprises. There is a clear need for high quality process models and software representations of physical hardware that reflect the evolution of their physical counterparts in particular detail. Digital twin technology can provide fertile ground for the development of IoT based lifecycle applications. This paper proposes a software approach to the process of developing a digital twin. The purpose of this work is to study the methods of creating software frameworks in the context of digital twin technology, as well as to study the process of creating and integrating digital twins and developing our own tool. Existing methods for creating twins are considered and a self developed Python library is described. The work uses the methods of the category of research in action and the philosophy of Agile development. Methods. The choice of methodology in seeking answers to questions that arise when studying methods for improving digital twins mainly falls into the category of research in action. In this paper, research in action is used as a qualitative tool, well suited to situations where the researcher seeks to achieve two different goals, namely: to solve a contemporary problem faced by the organization; contribute to a pool of knowledge that can later be used by other people to solve problems in the same class of problems. Results. Created library supports two modes of data retrieval: using periodic database queries and TCP socket connection. The experiments carried out as part of the work allow us to conclude that the library can already be used as a tool for creating a digital twin and its integration.

Abstract:
Telepharmacy and Technologies for digital health have transformed healthcare delivery by improving accessibility, efficiency, and patient outcomes. This review explores the historical evolution, tools, components, applications, challenges, and emerging developments in telepharmacy and digital health integration. Telepharmacy, which involves delivering pharmaceutical care through telecommunication technologies, has proven effective in addressing pharmacist shortages, enhancing medication safety, and improving chronic disease management. Digital health leverages information and communication technologies to process clinical and genetic data and to optimize patient care and healthcare operations. Numerous advantages arise when telepharmacy and digital health are combined, including increased accessibility, patient convenience, cost savings, efficient medication management, and improved health outcomes. The historical evolution of these technologies’ spans from early automation in the 1950s to the current era of digital integration and interconnectivity. Global policies and patient-centered care initiatives have further promoted the adoption of digital health tools. However, challenges such as limited technology proficiency, confidentiality concerns, algorithmic bias, and device accessibility must be addressed to ensure inclusive and equitable healthcare delivery. Emerging developments and innovations in telepharmacy and digital health integration promise to transform healthcare by enabling uninterrupted access, personalized care, improved patient-provider connections, and a widespread community health impact. In order to overcome challenges and provide fair access for everyone, stakeholders must work together to realize this objective.

Abstract:
Artificial intelligence is an emerging technology; something far beyond smartphones, cloud integration, or surgical microchip implantation. Utilizing the work of Ray Kurzweil, Nick Bostrom, and Steven Shaviro, this thesis investigates technology and artificial intelligence through the lens of the cinema. It does this by mapping contemporary concepts and the imagined worlds in film as an intersection of reality and fiction that examines issues of individual identity and alienation. I look at a non-linear timeline of films involving machine advancement, machine intelligence, and stages of post-human development; Elysium (2013) and Surrogates (2009) are about technology as an extension of the self, The Terminator franchise (1984-2015), Blade Runner (1982), and Bicentennial Man (1999) portray artificial intelligent androids and cyborgs, Transcendence (2013) is a contemporary depiction of human consciousness fusing with technology, and Chappie and Ex Machina are both released in 2015 are situated in contemporary society with sentient artificial intelligence. Looking at these films portrayals of man’s relationship with machines creates a discourse for contemporary society’s anxiety surrounding technology. I argue that recent film’s depiction of artificial intelligence signals a contemporary change in our perception of technology, urging that we reevaluate the ways that we define our identity.

Weir, Catherine M. "The digital index : creating immediacy through the integration of digital photography and captured data." Thesis, Glasgow School of Art, 2018. http://radar.gsa.ac.uk/6398/.

Full text
Abstract:
Captured from life, the photograph was long regarded as an image with an indexical link to its referent, a quality which set it apart from other forms of pictorial representation (Krauss, 1977). With the arrival of digital photography, however, many theorists divested the digital photograph of this link; arguing the photograph, no longer physically imprinted on chemical film, but stored as numbers, became an image open to manipulation and no longer reliant on anything in the world for its existence. The referent, as William J. Mitchell put it, had become “unstuck” (1994, p.31). Nearly thirty years since those arguments were first made, we can see that the mere fact of becoming digital did not exhaust the belief in the photograph as an image taken from the world (Rubinstein and Sluis, 2008). Today’s digital photographic images, however, are no longer the straightforward remediations (Bolter and Grusin, 2000) of chemical-based photography which prompted those debates. Instead they represent a convergence of digitally-produced photographs and computer programs; and viewed on screen become what Ingrid Hölzl (2010) has described as “moving stills”. It is against this backdrop, this research project explores the concept, and different definitions, of indexicality; and how the index might be reframed in a digital context. After beginning with the concept of metadata as mechanism to guarantee the digital photograph’s origins in a particular time and place; my practice-led research moved to consider how our experience of the digital photograph changes when it is merged with real-time or recorded data which describes a phenomenon. Specifically, to question if the integration of this data could constitute an indexical link to the world, and amplify the photographic artwork’s sense of immediacy (Bolter and Grusin, 2000). Drawing on both photographic and computational arts practices, I developed a series of custom software works merging my digital photographs with an additional element of data – ranging from the direction of the wind in a Scottish glen, to the recorded beat of my own heart – visually expressed through changes in colour, composition, and movement. The thesis documents and discusses these works from the perspectives of both artist and viewer, with the latter’s position drawn from a series of qualitative interviews conducted during the artworks’ exhibition. Drawing on these dialogues, my contribution proposes the merging of digital photographs, data, and bespoke program code constitutes an expanded digital photographic practice; and a form of gesture on the part of the artist to a secondary referent which sits outside, or cannot be depicted within, the frame of the photograph. Abstract:
This study investigates the impact of environmental factors on the decision to electronically integrate operations with international customers and/or suppliers. The following research question motivates the study: How does the environmental context affect the level of electronic integration of an organization with its international partners? This study elaborates on the concept of electronic integration. Studies on integration in general and electronic integration in particular adopt a loose definition of integration: they all agree in that integration is the opposite of markets, but they define this opposite in different terms: relationship contracting, long-term contracting, coordination, etc. Finally, the study also responds to Wathne and Heide’s (2004) call for a more comprehensive study of governance mechanisms in B2B, with emphasis on monitoring mechanisms.

Habgood, Matthew Peter Jacob. "The effective integration of digital games and learning content." Thesis, University of Nottingham, 2007. http://eprints.nottingham.ac.uk/10385/.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with how the coveted user-engagement of digital games can be usefully harnessed for educational goals. Educational software has traditionally used gaming elements as a separate reward for completing learning content. The early "edutainment" sector became synonymous with this cursory "chocolate-covered broccoli" approach (Bruckman, 1999): tagging games on to learning content in order to make it more palatable. However, such methods have often proved ineffective (Kerawalla & Crook, 2005; Trushell, Burrell, & Maitland, 2001) and have been criticised for combining the worst elements of both games and education (Papert, 1998) as well as for following extrinsically motivating design models (Lepper, 1985; Parker & Lepper, 1992). This thesis provides a theoretical and empirical exploration of game designs that follow a more integrated approach. Five studies are described which detail the development and evaluation of a new theory for creating intrinsic integration based on integrating learning content with the game mechanics of a game. This includes the development of Zombie Division: a game that teaches mathematics to children through swordplay with skeletal opponents. Two experimental studies examine the motivational differences between integrated and non-integrated versions of Zombie Division by measuring time-on-task. Two more examine the educational effectiveness of integrated and non-integrated versions by measuring learning gains for a fixed amount of time-on-task. Statistically significant results are found which suggest that the integrated version is motivationally and educationally more effective than the extrinsic equivalent. Full results and implications are discussed.

Abstract:
Digital painting has some particularities that distinguish it from traditional drawing. These can have an influence on the ways, the stages a visual artist goes through to develop and stabilize a character. These features allow for a clearer ordering of the relationship between structure and function in character design, with a positive influence on the clarity and coherence of visual information. The working hypothesis of this study proposes a better use of digital applications in relation to the representation and structured development of the character. Digital applications allow the inclusion from early stages of synthetic shapes for the interior components that will ultimately determine and characterize the character. Elements of applied, artistic anatomy can find their place and role much more clearly using digital applications. Characters developed in this way will have a greater efficiency of graphic representation and expressiveness of the message. Thus, a system is created between the student and the graphics tablet. In this system, the student's creativity represents the input introduced in the digital subcomponent. The output is the character development stages digitally reproduced and understood. The verification of the hypothesis considered the characteristics of the complex system developed between the artist and the digital medium of representation. Summing them up they are:• much easier way to work at scale,• the depth of the drawing or the details can be much more easily modified according to the needs of the construction drawing,• the equivalence between the projective content of the student and the detailed content of the created character is achieved much more easily,• overlap of the planes and implicitly the internal and external anatomical structure• for fantastic and imaginary characters, truthfulness is replaced by an anatomical logic of the relationship between the external form and the internal structureAn assignment was administered to two groups of students. The first group of students chose to develop the theme using the traditional methods of concept drawing. Group two used the graphics tablet and digital applications. The proposed theme was the development of a character for which the relationship between skeletal volumes and body shapes should be highlighted, the mobility in the joints should be clear and the connection between the shape of the cranial volume and the expression of the physiognomy. The concepts obtained by the students in the development of the theme were compared using criteria, the most important of which are: the stability of the concept, the logic and coherence in the complementarity of the anatomical forms, the legibility of the drawing and the details, the degree of complexity of the character, the ability of the character to wear a message and to be expressive. The results confirmed the hypothesis and showed that the digital construction drawing is more advantageous. The constructive method in drawing using the digital support contributes to the realization of the character. In conclusion, in the search and identification phase of the concept, the observation drawing is not useful as it only describes and does not explain. The constructive drawing as a result of the student-digital environment interaction, is the one that proposes the character in all the explicit complexity of the connection between the internal anatomical structure and the external conformation.

Abstract:
Digitalization is reshaping the construction sector, offering benefits such as reduced delays, cost control, and enhanced collaboration. BIM stands as the cornerstone of this transformation, ensuring coherence in building realization, including the integration of BIPV. The new Task 15 report not only explores BIM’s potential for solar buildings but also addresses the need for digitalization, standardization, and collaboration to propel the BIM-BIPV dialogue forward. Looking ahead, multidisciplinary discussions are key to advancing BIM-BIPV approaches, and IEA PVPS Task 15 is committed to driving this agenda further, focusing on standard representation for the seamless integration of BIPV into digitally designed construction processes.

Santoro, Fabrizio, Celeste Scarpini, and Stephen Okika. he Potential of Digital ID Systems for Tax Administration: The Case of Ghana. Institute of Development Studies, 2024. https://doi.org/10.19088/ictd.2024.114.

Abstract:
Digital identification systems (DIS) have great potential for strengthening tax administration. This paper examines the practical implications of integrating DIS with tax administration in Ghana. Studying system integration and data sharing between the Ghana Revenue Authority and the National Identification Agency, we evaluate the impact of replacing taxpayer identification numbers (TINs) with personal identification numbers (PINs) linked to a Ghana Card. By analysing administrative data and surveying 1,000 businesses in Accra, the study investigates registration patterns, tax perceptions and outcomes, and assesses improvements in data quality post-integration. The findings reveal a significant increase in the number registered for tax following system integration, particularly female and younger taxpayers. The impact on revenue is uncertain, and there is mixed compliance observed for PIN-based registrations. Those registered for tax for the first time after integration perform much worse than taxpayers who were migrated from TIN to PIN. Tax payment significantly improves for PIN-based registrations, mainly due to the technical design of the e-payment platform. While integration improves data on taxpayers' addresses, it worsens that on the economic sector. The study also shows that there is no significant improvement in taxpayers’ attitudes and perceptions, despite simplified registration processes. The paper offers policy recommendations, emphasising the need for targeted strategies and investment in administrative capacity to maximise the potential of digital ID systems to shape taxpayer attitudes and enhance tax compliance.
