Full textThis dissertation proposes a systematic analysis of Andreï Makine’s oeuvre. We read his prose through the prism of cognitive literary studies, a recent theoretical and methodological field which explores the interaction between literary interpretation on the one hand, and the human brain and mind on the other. We focus on the depiction of the affect, the imagination and the limits of cognition, while pinpointing, at the same time, the narrative techniques and the stylistic devices that contribute to create a work whose goal is not only to illustrate reality, but also to transfigure it. Thus, we analyse Makine’s novels from a dynamic perspective, asking what impact they could have on the reader, and proposing an innovative hypothesis concerning the relation between the author and his literary output. According to this hypothesis, the writer’s work is not autobiographical (according to Philippe Lejeune’s definition of the concept of autobiography) nor autofictional (Vincent Colonna), and it requires the coining of a new concept able to define it. We call this concept – which consists of the conscious and recurrent recreation of a meaningful autobiographical event through the means of literary fiction – a “transbiography”

Full textFor decades, chauvinist behaviour has transformed women into objects. However writers of the Fantastic or the Imaginery define them as complex beings worthy of interest. Homodiegetic narrator or protagonist, they constitute the founding element of these stories. By describing as unstable beings or prey to deep depression these authors draw attention to the dual nature and the fragmentation of their personnality in the face of masculine domination. Feminine characters take refuge in an interior universe, made up of memories and daydreams. Their vision of the surrounding world finds itself thus changed by the superposition of this private imaginary universe or the outside world. The confusion between dream and reality becomes stronger when women look themselves behind-closed doors where achiaroscuro favours at one and the same time introspection and the emergence of fantasising. The fantastic element develops all the more easily these characters try to recreate the play world of their childhood within their inner space. This space coreelated with the disturbing strangeness has similarities with the world of fairy stories where the animal and the object have humain characteristics. In this way mysterious, women arouse a fascination or a veritable fanaticism in their family circle where everyone wants to have absolute knowledge of the feminine character. The feminine chararcter paradoxically express limitless attraction for religious practise and for the parapsyche. Through their behaviour, at times extreme, women acquise within the cuple a superiority over men and sometimes absolute supremacy. Their imago commes remarkably closer to and identifies with that of the Devil. Full textTaking as chronological markers the major changes that the French institutional landscape experiences, this work analyzes how cultural places become a field of critical action for artists. The first part shows that with the indexing of the work on the context in situ practices are the result of the logic of anchoring in society that 1960s artistic movements promote. By providing a genealogy of these practices from the works of Jean-Michel Sanejouand, Mark Brusse and Daniel Buren, the auhor argues that they are a necessary prerequisite for the questioning of cultural venues. The second part undertakes a discussion of the categories established by the historiography - mainly Anglo-Saxon. If the stories developed about the concept "Site specificity" and "Institutional critique" inform the discussion, it was proposed in return for review in the light of the French case, especially the work of André Cadere. The third part discusses the reports that the critical artistic practices have with the protest movements : after the uprisings of 1968, cultural veneus become real protest sites. By focusing on a series of significant events such as the Paris Biennials of 1969 and 1971, the "72-72" exhibition or opening of thez Pompidou Centre, the author explores the multiple positions and modes of critical action that invite in the field of cultural venues : reforming vision, activism, critical artistic practices. This work is thus an investigation on the relationship between social movements and artist critic in France from 1960-1970

Resumo: O estudo se constitui na descrição e análise de uma instituição, enquanto experiência de um modelode atenção à saúde matemo-infantil,em 20 anos de sua história, entre 1967 e 1987, na cidade de Santo André (SP). Trata-se da Fundação de Assistência a Infância de Santo André - FAISA, entidade que surge em um determinado contexto e apresenta entre suas características, aspectos pioneiros e inovadores para a época de sua aparição. Buscando entender como essa entidade surge, volta-se no tempo para se descrever como se delimita a conformação de um campo de prática pediátrico, ou seja, desde o início do desenvolvimento do cuidado dedicado à infância até os princípios da atenção integral à saúde da criança. Na mesma perspectiva procura-se oferecer um panorama da conjuntura onde se desenvolvem a Pediatria brasileira, as políticas de saúde matemo-infantil e as políticas gerais de saúde pública no Brasil. A descrição do histórico da FAISA, da organização de seus serviços, de seu modelo de atenção e do impacto que têm sobre a saúde das crianças em Santo André, bem como a análise da manifestação do contexto em que essa surge, através de textos, documentos históricos encontrados e de entrevista realizada com um ator institucional, que se reveste da maior importância por ter sido formulador do modelo apresentado, toma-se o corpo central desse estudo. Estima-se que o trabalho tenha valor para aqueles que se debruçam sobre as questões pertinentes às formulações de modelos e políticas públicas de saúde, assim como na afirmação do Sistema Único de Saúde
Abstract: The study is composed of the description and analysis of an institution that is a model of attention to matemal-infantile health, in 20 years of its history, between 1967 and 1987, in the city of Santo André (SP). Such institution is "Fundação de Assistência a lnfância de Santo André -FAISA", an entity that appeared in a certain context and presents, in its characteristics, pioneer and innovatory aspects for the time of its appearance. ln order to understand how this entity started, let us go back in time to describe how the conformation of a pediatric practice field is delimitated, that is, since the beginning of the development of the care dedicated to the children until the principIes of full attention to a child's health. ln the same perspective, we try to offer a panorama of the conjuncture in which Brazilian Pediatrics has developed, the maternal-infantile health policies and the public health general policies in Brazil. The description of the FAISA background, the organization of its services, its model of attention and the impact it has on the health of the children in Santo André, as well as the analysis of the manifestation of the context in which it appeared, through texts, historical documents found and an interview with an institutional actor who is of great importance, for he was the creator of the model presented; these are the main topics of this study. This work might be of great value for those who deal with issues regarding the formulation of models and public policies of health, as well as the affirmation of the Sole System of Health

After this, Andreï Tarkovsky’s career will be constantly supported by French journalists. While Soviet authorities will regularly ban his films from taking the official competition in Cannes, western media defending Tarkovsky will do it not only for aesthetic concerns but also as a matter of artistic freedom. In USSR, his movies are publicly attacked. Therefore Andreï Tarkovsky's 1978 appearance on french journalist Yves Mourousi’s popular newscast reflect the gap between western and USSR media. Full textAndrew Wyeth is still a controversial figure in American art. Throughout his life the market value of his works increased along with his status as a fine artist acclaimed by the general public. Still, even his death in 2009 did not stop art historians and critics from questioning his legitimacy as a "serious" artist. He began his career as a figurative painter in the 1940s, and resolutely stuck to the genre. He was labeled a Magic Realist and a Regionalist, on account of his numerous depictions of "uncanny" rural scenes by means of sharp focus realism. This dissertation replaces Wyeth's artwork into the Western and American traditions of realistic painting and highlights his contant creative dialogue with his predecessors. Particular attention is paid to his representation of the American landscape and the pastoral topos in order to reassess his position in the history of American art. This reevaluation is based on the questioning of realism and reality, two notions that are consistently challenged by the artist, albeit indirectly. Wyeth's art thus appears far more complex than it may seem at first glance, poised between figuration and abstraction throught its painterly attention to textures. It resolves around an obsessive choice of themes and questions the representation of the figure of the author, ubiquitous yet exemplifying symptoms that he relentlessly depicted in his paintings

Full textThis thesis deals with the French transposition of Socialist Realism, from the double perspective of speech and literary production. Louis Aragon is the main actor of this movement. Already during the establishing Congress of the Union of Soviet Writers in 1934, he took the challenge of inventing a translation of Socialist Realism, which would match the French literary heritage and social context. His call remained unheard from 1934 to 1939, however he wrote the first novels of "Le Monde Réel". Between 1939 and 1947, his reference to Socialist Realism faded away, while other communist writers produced militant pieces of work, first poems on the Resistance, then militant novels. The Cold War's ideological confrontation and the Jdanovism period were the most fruitful time for the production of "party literature", under the auspices of Socialist Realism. The three major pieces of work from this period are the romanesque cycles by Pierre Daix's Classe 42, Andre Stil's Le Premier Choc and Aragon's Les Communistes

Full textThe comparism of the two women of letters lou andreas-salome (1861-1937) and rachilde (18601953) is organized around the concept of aesthetics. The first part explores how both authors locate themselves in their historical context. Rachilde's image of germany constitutes the thread running through my examination of her misanthropic and germanophobic discourse. Lou's aesthetics are aimed at humain beings, beyond national borders. Through her image of russia, her mother-land she searches for her own identity. I have limited the description of their aesthetic attempts to novels' and focused on adolescence, 'discovered' around 1900. The adolescents protagonists in both author's novels allows a parallel treatment ordered according to 'spaces'. In the chapter 'in freud's anteroom' (crisis of identity, sexuality), the examination of la princesse des tenebres (1896) and au paysmtermediare{1902) predominates. In my chapters 'school' and 'crown court', i also analyse l animate, le dessous, l'amazone rouge, combat pour dieu, ruth. A widened corpus allows the aesthetic valuation of the work of both authors. In studying the reception of the work of rachilde in the german-speaking countries and that of lou's work in france, multiple cross-connections become apparent between the two authors so different at first sight

Resumo: Foi desenvolvido um modelo computacional para estudo e análise do efeito pelicular em linhas de transmissão no domínio do tempo. A consideração do efeito peculiar é obtida apartir da olução da equação de Maxwell para o condutor da linha de transmissão.Utilizamos o método numérico de diferenças finitas para analisar as equações do modelo clássico (equações de telegrafista), e as equações do modelo desenvolvido. Nesta análise os valores da tensão ou a corrente do passo seguinte são calculados com base dos valores do passo anterior.Os resultados obtidos pelo modelo desenvolvido são comparados com os do modelo clássico, quando neste utilizamos os parâmetros da freqüência resistência Rw e indutância Lw, e os da corrente continua resistência Rcc e indutância Lcc

Resumo: No desenvolvimento das políticas públicas de cultura, há práticas dominantes que restringem o alcance da ação cultural. Em geral, as políticas culturais voltam-se para as belas artes ou para os produtos vinculados aos meios de comunicação de massa e as mais variadas formas de manifestações das classes populares não encontram meios de se expressar. As políticas culturais que seguem esta tradição tendem a transformar a todos apenas em aprendizes e consumidores, não concebendo os sujeitos como também produtores de cultura. Este trabalho, que analisa a política cultural desenvolvida em três gestões do Partido dos Trabalhadores na cidade de Santo André, promove uma reflexão sobre algumas das principais questões que envolvem a realização de políticas culturais. Parte das propostas iniciais do PT neste campo para entender que objetivos e intenções orientaram as ações culturais em diferentes momentos da ação do partido na cidade. Para isso, investiga e analisa o que foi desenvolvido na ação cultural descentralizada de cada gestão e mostra que entre a primeira e as demais gestões havia profundas diferenças. Tendo como base as diferenças encontradas, problematiza sobre como são desenvolvidas na sociedade as políticas culturais e encontra, com o auxílio de referenciais teóricos, elementos que caracterizam as tradições culturais neste campo, aos quais procura vincular as gestões do PT. O trabalho mostra, ainda, que as mudanças políticas do partido, em âmbito local e nacional, foram determinantes para as diferenças encontradas na política cultural em cada momento, sobretudo entre a primeira e as demais gestões
Abstract: At cultural public politics development, there are dominant practices, restricting the cultural action reaching. In general, the cultural politics focus the arts or the products connected to communication and media, the most sorted popular manifestations of self-expression. The cultural politics, which follow this tradition, has a tendency to transform everybody at apprentices and consumers, not having conception from a person as cultural producers, too. This paper, which analyses the cultural politics developed at the three public managements from Partido dos Trabalhadores, in Santo André city, promotes reflection about some of the principIe questions, which involve cultural politics realizations. Part of the initial purposes from PT at this field, to understand that goals and intentions guide the cultural actions at different moments from the politic party action at. the city. According to this, the paper investigates and analyses which was developed at the decentralized cultural action, in each public management period and show us that between the first and the other managements, there were deep differences. Based on the differences found, focus about how are developed at the society, the cultural politics and find, in the theory references help, elements which characterize the cultural traditions at this field, that are connected at the PT public management. The paper still shows the politic changes; from the party in local and national position were determinants to the differences found at the cultural politics in each moment, mainly between the first and the other public managements

Full textThis thesis interrogates the early work of the urban theoretician Kevin Lynch (1918-1984) through examining two different contexts of production. The first context encompasses a transnational scale, the Anglo-American field of Urban Design, in which Kevin Lynch was a key person contributing as much to the constitution of institutions as to the production of theoretical literature. The second scale, more local, is that of the group attached to “The Perceptual Form of the City” research program (1954-1959) that Lynch co-directed while at the School of Architecture and City Planning at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. These two contexts are simultaneously examined through a particular text, The View from the Road (1964) that, with Gordon Cullen’s Townscape (1961) and Learning from Las Vegas (1972) by Robert Venturi, Denise Scott Brown and Steven Izenour, attempted to develop representations of visual sequences. These three texts propose very different modes of representation while explicitly participating in a genealogy within the Urban Design field. The analysis of each text, understood within this framework, allows us to understand the driving force of these translations. Focusing next on “The Perceptual Form of the City” research program, its premises and its sequels, the reconstitution of this story reveals how this translation was fabricated. The action of the different actors participating in this research and of the institutions who contributed to it, including the Rockefeller Foundation, is analyzed as is the interplay of ‘discourses-resources’, such as cognitive psychology, and of the ‘people-resources’ mobilized

Full textTo the general public, Anders Frostenson clergyman and poet, is primarily known for his many contributions to the Swedish hymn treasure. He was born on 23 April 1906. The present thesis examines and defines the theology embodied in his works, especially in his hymns, showing that Frostenson occupies a central and unique position in the Swedish 20th Century Christian tradition.
The study charts Frostenson´s life and work from poetry to hymn, and draws attention to the growth of a long-standing, significant authorship, that has served to make the Christian gospel accessible, relevant, and down-to-earth.
Much has happened in the last century. The 1900s have been characterised by enormous changes, social, cultural and public, involving both individuals and nations. Matters of opinion and aims, union and dissension, have in a special way been put at the centre of things. This is also reflected in Anders Frostenson´s work.
Frostenson´s autorship can be understood in terms of four concepts, which reflect the epiphanic mode of his works: the Word, the Testament, the Confirmation, and the Inheritance. These concepts can to a great extent be chronologically ordered, and taken together they function as the cornerstones on which Frostenson´s theology is built. The relationship between the four cornerstones and different periods is defined against the background of Frostenson´s existential situation and the socio-cultural context.
The theological analysis shows how central Christian themes and the Christian philosophy of life are shaped in the meeting of tradition and actuality. Frostenson conveys the idea that God reveals himself in the here and now. Human suffering is God´s injunction to the world to act with love in daily service. The sense of belonging and continuity makes life meaningful and excludes no one from the earthly and heavenly “endless home”. In true Lutheran spirit Frostenson places his creative will and words in the service of God.
The 1986 Hymnal is the cultural treasure through which Frostenson chiefly brought Word and Tradition into the everyday world. The cultural concept has been expanded with his help, through, among other things, spiritual song, where trust and tradition are obviously linked together with contemporary Christian culture.
In 1935, Anders Frostenson wrote ´Let my life also be a working day, in Your vast Kingdom!` On 4 February 2006, that long day´s work finally came to a close.

Full textO conceito de Deus é algo que se forma na mente humana. Ao longo da vida, diferentes culturas, povos, línguas e nações sempre acharam a imagem de Deus como seus costumes e experiências. De modo particular, as nossas Igrejas tenham comunicado a mensagem do Evangelho que recebeu através da Sagrada Escritura e transmitidos pela tradição ao longo dos séculos. Quando o verdadeiro espírito da lei é perdida, a conclusão é que a letra mata. Isso é o que aconteceu com o conceito de Deus quando se tornou um motivo de perseguição, exclusão e medo. O teólogo espanhol Andrés Torres Queiruga pesquisa através da reflexão sobre este assunto, envolvendo um repensar da teologia hoje, porque com o advento da modernidade o paradigma de pensamento humano mudou por conta da revolução cultural. A perspectiva de um mundo onde os eventos naturais foram atribuídos a Deus ou ao diabo, de acordo com o que era bom ou ruim, não cabe mais hoje, como a ciência considera o mundo regido por leis naturais autônomas. Nesse caso, esta visão mítica de Deus se torna para a modernidade, supérflua, como a sua explicação causal antiga, trouxe um grande dano para a fé. Queiruga procura em Jesus de Nazaré vida, o núcleo da experiência do Abba. A verdadeira resposta cristã a essa situação, apresenta o rosto terno de Deus revelada pelo Messias. Esta experiência paterna de Deus traz alegria e dá consciência de realização existencial plena para quem encontrar o prazer em sentir a filiação divina.
The concept of God is something that forms in the human mind. Along life, different cultures, peoples, languages and nations have always found the image of God as their customs and experiences. In a particular way, our Churches have communicated the Gospel message they received through the Holy Scripture and handed down by tradition along the centuries. When the real spirit of the law is lost, the conclusion is that letter kills. That s what happened to the concept of God when it became a reason for exclusion, persecution and fear. The Spanish theologian Andres Torres Queiruga searches through reflection on this subject, an involving rethink of theology today, because with the advent of modernity, the human thinking paradigm has changed on account of the cultural revolution. The perspective of a world where natural events were attributed to God or the devil, according to what was good or bad, no longer fits today, as science considers the world governed by autonomous natural laws. In such case, this mythic vision of God becomes for modernity, superfluous, as their former causal explanation, has brought great harm to faith. Queiruga searches in Jesus of Nazareth’s life, the core of Abba’s experience. The truly Christian response to this situation, presents the tender face of God revealed by the Messiah. This God s paternal experience brings joy and the conscience of full existential realization for the one who find pleasure in feeling divine filiation.

The present research had as an objective analyzing the development of epistemological, ontological and methodological assumptions defended by B. F. Skinner and his proposi-tions to intervene in social questions, between 1953 and 1960. To a certain extent, we sought to continue the research of Andery (1990), in which all of the publications of Skin-ner between 1931 and 1953 were analyzed, with Science and Human Behavior as the last analyzed work. We investigated how Skinner advanced in the definition of the assump-tions of his science and the proposition of social analyzes and interventions in the first years after the publication of Science and Human Behavior. Therefore, considering the assumption of inseparability between the science of behavior proposed by Skinner and his approach to social issues, all of Skinner’s available texts, published between 1953 and 1960 after Science and Human Behavior, were identified and collected, in order to classify how much of it was changed/maintained when compared with the previous development of the skinnerian explanatory system. We analyzed the selected texts based on two groups of categories: 1. Excerpts related to the constitution of ontological, epistemological and methodological assumptions of behavioral science; and 2. Excerpts related to the consti-tution of social propositions. There were additions, but no rupture, in all categories ana-lyzed when we compared our data with those of the period analyzed by Andery (1990). The results obtained in the present research allow us to sustain that Skinner improved the assumptions of his science and his social proposals, introducing new conceptual discus-sions and new data from relevant basic and applied research
A presente pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar o desenvolvimento de pressupostos epistemológicos, ontológicos e metodológicos defendidos por B. F. Skinner e suas proposições para intervir em questões sociais, entre 1953 e 1960. Em certa medida, buscou-se dar continuidade à pesquisa de Andery (1990), na qual foram analisadas todas as publicações de Skinner entre 1931 e 1953, com Science and Human Behavior como última obra analisada. Investigou-se de que maneira Skinner avançou na definição dos pressupostos de sua ciência e na proposição de análises e intervenções sociais nos primeiros anos após a publicação de Science and Human Behavior. Para isso, considerando-se a suposição de indissociabilidade entre a ciência do comportamento proposta por Skinner e sua abordagem de questões sociais, foram identificados e coletados todos os textos disponíveis de Skinner publicados entre 1953 e 1960 após Science and Human Behavior, visando identificar o que houve de mudança/continuidade em relação ao desenvolvimento anterior do sistema explicativo skinneriano. Os textos selecionados foram analisados com base em dois grupos de categorias de análise: 1. Trechos relativos à constituição de pressupostos ontológicos, epistemológicos e metodológicos da ciência do comportamento; e 2. Trechos relativos à constituição de propostas sociais. Foram encontrados acréscimos, mas nenhuma ruptura, em relação ao período analisado por Andery (1990) em todas as categorias analisadas. Os resultados obtidos na presente pesquisa permitem afirmar que Skinner aprimorou os pressupostos de sua ciência e suas propostas sociais, introduzindo novas discussões conceituais e novos dados de pesquisa básica e aplicada relevantes para a temática

Full textBecause there exist historically a common culture, Christianity, that the films of Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975) can communicate with the films of Andreï Tarkovski (1932-1986). Their careers of filmmakers begin almost at the beginning of the years 1960, and in the same country, Italy. The first film carried out by Pier Paolo Pasolini, Accattone (Accattone, 1961), is shown for the first time at Mostra of Venice on August 31st, 1961, where the Childhood of Ivan (Ivanovo detstvo, 1962) of Tarkovski will receive the following year the first “gold Lion” of the History of the Soviet cinema. The religion does not occupy however the same place in the Italian social life, where Catholicism is religion of State until 1984, which under a Soviet regime based on the “Separation of the Church with the State and the School” since 1918. Their poetic respectively engage a critical function with regard to a power having authority on Sacred Christian. This criticism would be exerted for Tarkovski against the atheistic and materialist policy of the Soviet regime, under the government of Krouchtchev (1953-1964) and Leonid Brenev (1964-1982). In the case of Pasolini, this criticism would be exerted against the Catholic Church and to its political alliance with the Christian-Democracy. In both cases, it would be a question of investing and of adapting the fundamental opposition between the Sacred and the Profane to redefine their border and their distribution in space and time

Their spatially decentralized displays critiqued art institutions at the same time that they relativized the position of artist and viewer by situating their individual comprehensions within the larger community to wich they were shown to belong.
