Abstract:
Palabras claves: etología, trampas, monitoreo, capturaSUMMARYThe research evaluation of the population dynamics of the palm weevil (Rhynchophorus palmarum) in African palm with three types of attractants, had as objectives to determine the population dynamics of the palm weevil and to evaluate the use of three types of attractants for the control of weevil adults. The methodology allowed us to use a completely randomized experimental design and the variable evaluated was the number of adult insects captured pro trap every seven days. The results allow us to conclude that the population dynamics of the palm weevil in African palm indicates that the highest catch was obtained on July 6 with 383 adult insect captures and with a downward trend until the five evaluation that was made on August 3 where they were captured. 239 adult insects; but later in the following evaluation an increase of insect capture was obtained, which indicates that the population fluctuation of the weevil is very varied; In addition, the use of three types of attractants for adult control of the weevil indicates that the largest catch in the seven evaluations carried out was where pheromone traps were used and located every 300 meters away with catches located by trap between 18,00 and 28.75 adult insects captured every 7 days. Keywords: ethology, traps, monitoring, capture

Abstract:
Summary French philosophical grammmar and grammatical rationalism developed from the 17th-century Port Royal Grammar, but they were not adopted by Spanish grammarians until early in the 19th century. Of works responsible for the introduction of French grammatical philosophy in Spain, one of the earliest and the most important one is the Principios de gramática general (Madrid 1835), by José Gómez Hermosilla (1771–1837/38?). The work was very well received; by 1841 it already was into a third edition. Even before first appearing in print, a manuscript of the Gramática General was used to adapt Gómez Hermosilla’s ideas to the 1828 Castilian grammar of Jacobo Saqueniza (anagram for Joaquín Cabezas). The most important of the Castilian grammars influenced by the work of Gómez Hermosilla were the one just mentioned and the one by Antonio Martinez de Noboa, published in 1839. The application of Hermosilla’s theories to descriptive grammars of Castilian required adapting both the theory and the description to achieve a reasonable fit between universal and language specific aspects. Other adjustments were required of the writers of descriptive grammars in order to avoid conflicts with a long and well established grammatical tradition. Nevertheless, grammars like those of Saqueniza and Noboa show innovations which resulted from their relationship with the theories of Hermosilla which will produce a deictic interpretation of articles, possesives and demonstratives, and will affect the theory of verb tenses, as well as the definitions of prepositions and conjunctions, and the classification of sentences. Additionally, Noboa’s Castilian Gramática, whose title makes a claim to be in accordance with grammatical philosophy, includes the most extensive and systematic treatment of syntax prior to the appearance of the work of Andres Bello (1781–1865) in 1847.

C.ESTIMATE OF BIOMASS ACCUMULATION IN SUGARCANE RATOON USING SIMULATION MODEL IN THE IRRIGATED AND RAINFED MANAGEMENTS WITH DIFFERENT DOSES OF N-FERTILIZER 2 ABSTRACT With the key role that the sugarcane industry has on the national level is vital to know how the quantity and quality of raw material produced is affected by the cultural practices. However it is not always possible to obtain real data (time, cost, difficulty of access) appearing simulation models. So this study aimed to: use and validate the APSIM® (Agricultural Production System sIMulator) and make estimates (simulations) of accumulation of biomass and productivity of ratoon sugarcane, in irrigated and rainfed conditions with different doses of N fertilizer. The experiment was carried with 6 treatments: T1 (Irrigated without dose of nitrogen (N)), T2 (irrigated with a dose of 70 kg ha-1 N), T3 (irrigated with a dose of 140 kg ha-1 N), T4 (irrigated with a dose of 210 kg ha-1 N), T5 (non-irrigated without N rate) and T6 (non-irrigated with a dose of 140 kg ha-1 N), all doses of N as urea. Comparisons tons of cane per hectare (TCH), of sugar per hectare (TPH), of dry weight of shoot (PA) and stem (C). The APSIM simulated parameters evaluated with high correlation. The curves of biomass accumulation followed the sigmoidal characteristic trend and show the positive effect of irrigation and nitrogen fertilization. Abstract:
Background:Positivity of dense fine speckles antibodies (anti-DFS70) has been associated with antinuclear antibodies positivity in people with no evidence of systemic autoimmune disease. They could be useful to distinguish patients with these characteristics that do not meet diagnostic and/or classifying criteria for any systemic autoimmune disease (SAD).Objectives:To evaluate the use of anti- DFS70 in patients with suspicion of SAD.Methods:A cross-sectional observational study was conducted at 2 tertiary-level hospitals. We included a cohort of patients visited in the last year by either rheumatology or other specialties, under suspicion of SAD, in which the IgG isotype anti-DFS70 was obtained by recombination with the Euroline Immunoblot of Euroimmun. Demographic, clinical and immunological variables were collected.Results:102 patients (78% women) were included, median age of 49 years old. The descriptive statistics are summarized in Table 1. All patients had ANA titters > 1/80. 37% were positive for anti-DFS70, with homogeneous, speckled and other patterns in 36%, 72% and 15% respectively.74% were visited by rheumatologists under the suspicion of systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in 27%, other SAD 25%, arthralgia 36% and fibromyalgia 12%. 13% presented high DNA titters, low C3/C4 levels in 14% and 9%. SLE’s symptoms were: arthritis 21%, arthralgia 41%, cutaneous 20% and oral ulcers 8%. Anti-DFS70(+) was related to the speckled pattern in 46% compared to other patterns (p=0,009), which had a negative association with anti-DFS70(p=0,003). Regarding the diagnoses, there was a negative association with SLE, other SAD and other rheumatologic diagnoses in 88%, 75% and 55% respectively(p=0,006). Anti-DFS70(-) was associated with oral ulcers (p=0,024), decreased C3/C4 levels (p=0,007/p=0,018), psoriatic arthritis (p=0,024) and cutaneous lupus (p=0,008), but not with drug-induced SLE (p=0,48) or lupus nephritis (p=0,067). There was no statistical significance between anti-DFS70(+) and arthralgia or fibromyalgia, but these patients don’t have a SAD diagnosis.Table 1.RHEUMATOLOGY(n=75)OTHER SPECIALTIES(n=27)antiDFS70(+)n=25(100%)antiDFS70(-)n=50(100%)antiDFS70(+)n=13(100%)antiDFS70(-)n=14(100%)Women20(80)43(86)8(62)9(64)Age years (ED)47,1(±20,1)50,4(±15,5)45,1(±26,7)54,7(±15,6)ANAHomogeneous8(32)23(46)2(15)4(29)PatternSpeckled22(88)*30(60)12(92)9(64)IIFOther010(20)1(8)4(29)Final diagnosisArthralgia12(48)15(30)SpecialityFibromyalgia3(12)6(12)Dermatology4(31)7(49)Drug-induced SLE2(8)2(4)Gastroenterology3(23)3(21)SLE3(12)17(34)*Hematology1(8)2(14)Cutaneous lupus08(16)*Other5(38)2(14)PsA06(12)*Other6(25)16(32)SLEArthritis3(12)13(26)Arthralgia13(52)18(36)Cutaneous3(12)12(24)Oral ulcers0(0)6(12)*Leukopenia0(0)4(8)Thrombocytopenia0(0)1(2)Fever1(4)1(2)Pleuritis0(0)1(2)Pericarditis0(0)1(2)Nephritis0(0)4(8)Myositis1(4)0(0)ANA (antinuclear antibody), IIF (indirect immunofluorescence), SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus), PsA (psoriatic arthritis), *p<0, 05.Conclusion:Our results suggest that patients with suspicion of SAD, especially SLE, presented a greater proportion of negative anti-DFS70 compared to other diagnoses, including SAD, along with a decrease in complement levels and the presence of oral ulcers, being useful at the initial study of these patients. Abstract:
On 8 December 2016, an International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) tribunal chaired by Professor Andreas Bucher, with co-arbitrators Professor Pedro J. Martinez-Fraga (Claimants' appointee) and Professor Campbell McLachlan QC (Respondent's appointee), issued its award in Urbaser and CAAB v. Argentina (Award). The dispute related to a Concession Contract granted to Aguas Del Gran Buenos Aires S.A. (AGBA), a company in which Claimants were shareholders, for the provision of water and sewerage services in the Province of Greater Buenos Aires (Province). Claimants alleged that they had faced numerous obstacles created by the Province's authorities, which precluded the efficient and profitable operation of their Concession. Respondent counterclaimed that Claimants had failed to make the necessary investment in the Concession, thereby violating their obligation under international law based on the human right to water.

Like the Berlin Wall, the embargo is both a symbolic and a physical barrier keeping apart two neighbors destined to move closer. Unlike the Berlin Wall which feil at the end of the cold war, the U.S. embargo against Cuba still stands.

Four distinguished analysts of French foreign policy under Charles de Gaulle provide in-depth assessments of the new book edited by Christian Nuenlist, Anna Locher, and Garret Martin, Globalizing de Gaulle: International Perspectives on French Foreign Policies, 1958–1969, published by Lexington Books. The commentators praise the book's wide scope and many of its essays and broad themes, but they raise questions about Garret Martin's contention (shared by a few, though not all, of the other contributors to the volume) that de Gaulle had a coherent if ultimately unsuccessful strategy to overcome the Cold War and move toward the unification of Germany and Europe. In article-length commentaries, both Andrew Moravcsik and Marc Trachtenberg take issue with Martin's view, arguing that de Gaulle's foreign policy involved more bluff and bluster than any genuine attempt to bring about the reunification of Germany or to end the Cold War. Moravcsik also provides a spirited defense of the “revisionist” conception of de Gaulle's policy toward Europe, which sees the general as having been guided mostly by his domestic economic and political interests—a conception that Trachtenberg has also come to accept. The forum ends with a reply by Nuenlist, Locher, and Martin to the four commentaries.

Abstract:
In an outgrowth of his doctoral dissertation, Talal Nizameddin, now a lecturer at Haigazian University in Beirut, discusses the evolution of Russian foreign policy toward the Middle East under Boris Yeltsin from the collapse of the Soviet Union in December 1991 until 1997. The book, based in part on extensive interviews in Moscow, seeks to show how Russian policy evolved from what the author describes as the “radical pro-West” view of Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev in the early 1990s to the more nationalist view of Yevgeny Primakov in the mid- to late 1990s. In general, Nizameddin succeeds in his task, although his failure to evaluate critically some of the comments given to him by his interviewees in Moscow, such as Vitaly Naumkin, and the clearly anti-United States and anti-Israel perspective with which the book is written detract from the value of the study.

The Saudi File is a handy volume, with limitations, for those who write on Saudi Arabia: it is a compilation of various documents, statements, press clips, and reports that broadly concern politics in the country. The chapter titles reflect important subjects, such as the Basic Law, government and sh―ur―a council, political reform, an Islamic state, religious police, human rights, the press and freedom of speech, refugees, gender, labor, terror, security, international relations, dissidents abroad, and the Gulf War. The relevance of these issues and institutions makes the volume a convenient tool for research.

Abstract:
This text is a kind of breviary on the so-called “Bolsonarism”. It is a breviary because the particularities and inscriptions in the political, social, economic, and cultural reality of Bolsonarism are not to be exhausted by anyone, it is not possible. It is also a breviary in the sense that some brief lessons to work as antidotes against this 21st century fascism – which has totalitarian refinements or Nazi touches, as in the use of Goebbels’ currency - are to be presented. Bolsonarism does not flee the worst of classical Caesarism, being a demonstration of Bonapartism. Sometimes, it is even possible to relate Bolsonarism to Italian Berlusconism. Keywords: Tropical Fascism, Bolsonarism Hope Political Letter.ReferencesASSIS, Machado de. Abstract:
Background:Giant cell arteritis (GCA) and polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) are two closely related inflammatory rheumatic diseases of the elderly. While glucocorticoid treatment leads to a dramatic initial improvement, the course of the diseases remains unpredictable and multifarious. Flare and relapses are common, however, data on this is limited[1][2].Objectives:We set out to evaluate the flare rate, time to first flare and steroid dose during flare of patients diagnosed with GCA and PMR in our practice. The aim was to identify optimal timing for clinical review and contribute towards best practice. Methods:A total of 218 patients diagnosed with GCA (38) and PMR (180) seen between 2015 and 2020 were audited. Demographic data was collected. Relapse rate, time to initial flare and steroid dose during flares were the primary endpoints for our analysis. Steroid sparing agent use was also documented. Results:Our cohort comprised of 38 GCA patients (M=15; F=23) and 180 PMR patients (M=71; F=99) who were diagnosed between January 2015 and January 2020.The mean age of diagnosis for patients with GCA and PMR was 73 years and 71 years respectively. 10 patients (4.6%) with PMR later progressed to develop Rheumatoid Arthritis and hence, were excluded from subsequent analyses. Most patients received an initial treatment of corticosteroid therapy for both diseases with a mean dose of 39.74mg for GCA and 18.23mg for PMR. During a mean follow up time of 13.8 months, 75 patients (36%) (GCA= 6; PMR =69) experienced at least one flare which was determined by clinical diagnosis either by unremitting reversion of initial symptoms and/or elevated inflammatory markers. While 13 patients (6%) (GCA = 2; PMR =11) had a flare following completion of initial steroid therapy, 62 patients (30%) (GCA = 4; PMR = 58) experienced flares during steroid tapering, the mean steroid dose observed during disease flare for the latter was 5.25 mg for GCA and 4.67 for PMR. Majority of relapses/flares for PMR patients occurred within the first year of diagnosis (mean = 8.38 months) and after the first year of diagnosis in GCA patients (mean = 15 months). Methotrexate was the most common traditional DMARD trialed as a steroid sparing alternative (GCA = 4; PMR =23) mostly introduced post flare/relapse. The mean appointment intervals for flares/relapses in our cohort was noticed to be during the 5thand 6thscheduled clinical review for GCA and between the 3rdand 4thclinical review for PMR patients. Conclusion:A flaring and relapsing course is common to both GCA and PMR especially during steroid dose tapering. Increased clinical surveillance and more gradual steroid tapering, particularly at the time when most flares/relapses are observed may help improve clinical outcomes and reduce glucocorticoid requirements in patients.References:[1]Martinez-Lado L, Calviño-Díaz C, Piñeiro A, Dierssen T, Vazquez-Rodriguez T, Miranda-Filloy J et al.
