Abstract:
A Teoria de Valorização teve início em 1912, quando o matemático húngaro Josef Kurschák formulou os axiomas de valorização em corpos. A principal motivação foi a tentativa de melhorar a fundamentação da teoria de corpos p-ádicos definidos por Kurt Hensel. Nas décadas seguintes houve um rápido desenvolvimento da Teoria de Valorização, após a descoberta de que muitos problemas da Teoria de Números Algébricos poderiam ser melhores entendidos com o uso de métodos da Teoria de Valorização.
