Angel sharks are among the most threatened species of sharks globally. Twenty-two species have been identified globally so far, with three species being present in the Mediterranean Sea: Squatina aculeata, Squatina oculata, and Squatina squatina. Four species of angel sharks (family Squatinidae) occur in temperate and subtropical Australian waters. Two of these, Squatina albipunctata sp. nov. and S. pseudocellata sp. nov., which occur mainly off subtropical eastern and western Australia respectively, are formally described and illustrated. The new species differ from temperate Australian species, S. australis and S. tergocellata, in morphometrics, meristics, squamation, and coloration. In the Mediterranean three species are present facing a severe depletion with several local extinction events as a result of over exploitation by fisheries. Hereby, we present 7 additional records of Squatina squatina from Corsica contributing to the new regional action plan for Angel Sharks in the Mediterranean Sea. AbstractThis chapter explores a new jokes-based illustration method targeting ethical transgressions in the business context. The method question is how well public business jokes published on the Internet can illustrate common ethical business transgressions. The result is that ten common unethical business practices mentioned in interviews with over 100 consultants, can all be illustrated with public business jokes. That shows that jokes are a good source for illustrating common unethical business behaviour. As jokes activate normative standards, they also point at what the ethical issue is. This gives them illustrative value for answering both descriptive and evaluative research questions. Still, the jokes-based illustration method has its limitations. First, it takes time for jokes to be published on the Internet and to get shared. Second, jokes can only be experienced as funny when they illustrate mild norm violation. When behaviour gets very unethical our emotional response turns into anger, and fun gets lost. Third, ethical transgressions need to be somewhat common and recognizable to be good joking material. Fourth, not everyone “gets” a joke. That means, the audience needs to be sufficiently able to interpret well. Finally, for illustration purpose, a topical match between the joke and the ethical issue is important, which puts high demands on searching and selection.

This chapter conducts a thought experiment, which compares the immaterial culture of Thomistic angels with the corporeal culture of humans to clarify the particular contribution that matter makes to cultural life. This suggests two perfections of matter. First is the ‘detour through the real’ that is enforced by matter. Whereas angels use purely intentional signs to know and communicate, corporeal creatures necessarily use material signs, which are not intentional but real. This reflects Trinitarian knowledge and expression, which proceeds through the real sign of the divine Word. Second is the process of biological generation. Whereas an individual angel sustains its own species, organisms must generate one from another within the one shared nature, and this ontological dependence and mutuality reflects the Trinitarian procession of persons within the one divine nature. These perfections of material existence mean that dust is a blessing to the sign, just as signs are a blessing to dust.
