Abstract:
Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma is an uncommon soft-tissue tumor of intermediate malignancy that is often misdiagnosed initially. As there is not one immunohistochemical marker that consequently stains positive or negative for angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma, molecular diagnostics are becoming more widely used. So far three translocations have been reported to arise in angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma: FUS-ATF1, EWSR1-CREB1, or EWSR1-ATF1. We present a case of angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma on the upper arm of a 40-year-old female, which was initially misdiagnosed as metastatic melanoma in

Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is a rare soft tissue tumor of uncertain differentiation with low metastatic potential, most commonly occurring in children, adolescents, and young adults, involving extremities. Due to its rare nature and diverse presentation, both clinically and morphologically, it is often misdiagnosed. It becomes important to correctly diagnose this lesion, given its distinct therapeutic implications. Here, we present the clinical, radiologic, and pathologic findings of two rare cases of AFH. Since AFH is a rare soft tissue tumor with low malignant potential, both pat

Abstract:
A young man presented to the emergency department with pleuritic chest pain and shortness of breath. Of note, he recently went on a long-distance flight of about 9 hours. Given his recent long-distance travel and clinical symptoms, a pulmonary embolism was suspected. However, pathological examination of the excised pulmonary artery intraluminal mass demonstrated an angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma. This case describes the clinicopathological and immunohistochemical features and molecular profile of a rare type of pulmonary artery tumour, a pulmonary artery angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma.

Abstract We report a case of a 15-year-old boy who presented with an intraventricular angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma. MRI revealed an enhancing 2.3-cm mass in the posterior horn of the right lateral ventricle with no hydrocephalus. The patient subsequently admitted to having had headaches with associated appetite suppression but no visual problems or weakness. The tumor was resected. It was composed of sheets and cords of histiocytoid cells with focal pleomorphism. Intersperse

Abstract Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma is a neoplasm of intermediate biologic potential most often arising in the extremities of children and young adults. Its rarity may lead to misdiagnosis as either a reactive lesion or a benign or higher-grade tumor. Its morphology is distinct, as a circumscribed lesion with sheets of bland spindle to ovoid cells, peripheral lymphoplasmacytic infiltrate, and blood-filled cystic cavities, and half of

Angiomatoid fibrous histiocytoma (AFH) is a sporadic, soft tissue cancer with malignant potential that happens most frequently in children and young adults. We represent an infrequent case of young male with retroperitoneal AFH. Only a rare case reports have been defined that classically occur in the extremes of the deep dermis and subcutaneous tissue, followed by head and neck, as well as the trunk. We emphasize that AFH may occur in retroperitoneal tumors. Surgical resection is mainstay management because it decreases the local symptoms.
