En este artículo se analiza el último libro de Jacques Le Goff, en el que expuso su idea de que la Edad Media se extendía hasta mediados del siglo XVIII. Se critica la debilidad de la demostración, a la que se achaca afirmaciones poco fundamentadas y un análisis superficial de autores y temas. Estas falencias se ven con claridad cuando Le Goff considera el aporte de los historiadores marxistas sobre los períodos históricos. Esta última actitud halla su explicación en el contexto de las complejas relaciones que los historiadores de la escuela de los Annales han mantenido con los historiadores marxistas y de la manera como estos últimos han considerado los aportes de la mencionada escuela.Palabras clavesJacques Le Goff, una larga Edad Media, períodos históricos, Marxismo, escuela de los Annales.AbstractThis article examines the last book of Jacques Le Goff, in which he exposed his idea that the Middle Ages extended until the middle of the eighteenth century. These shortcomings are clearly seen when Le Goff considers the contributions of Marxist historians to historical periods. Abstract:
Social history is a relatively new field in Romanian historiography. In this context, Revista de Istorie Socială has attempted, since 1996, to contribute to the development of this field of studies and to bridge the gap between various historical schools and generations, opening new fields of research and reinterpreting old ones. This review essay provides an overview of the Review’s editorial policy, its publications, structure and content, in order to evaluate its impact on the development of social history in post-communist Romania. It is argued that the Review exhibits various historiographical influences, ranging from 19th century historicism to 20th century national schools of social history, most importantly the French Annales.

This dissertation investigates politics and nationalism in the Annales d'Histoire Économique et Sociale. Firstly, it approaches the background of this review in political terms. In this sense, some historians who worked with politics in their books were selected. It is the cases of Fustel de Coulanges before the french defeat to Prussia in 1870, of Grabriel Monod who approached the progress of historical knowledge and founded the Revue Historique, Ernest Lavisse who conceived the nation as political expression and Charles Seignobos who consideredthe historical knowledge as an instrument of political education. Next, we show the relationship of the review with politics. Before that, we praised the organization of the review, its themes, authors, among other. In its pages, one finds the policy that somehow remained and the big names (political figures). Moreover, we emphasize a nationalism that expands, especially, towards the African continent. Finally, the dissertation intends to know better a little explored topic of the review, besides perceiving changes and stays between the historians mentioned above and the AHES.
A presente dissertação investiga a política e o nacionalismo na revista dos Annales d’Histoire Économique et Sociale. Inicialmente, aborda os antecedentes do referido periódico em termos políticos. Nesse sentido, alguns historiadores que lidaram com a política em suas obras foram selecionados. São os casos de Fustel de Coulanges perante a derrota francesa para a Prússia em 1870, de Grabriel Monod que tratou do progresso do conhecimento histórico e fundou a Revue Historique, Ernest Lavisse que concebeu a nação enquanto expressão política e Charles Seignobos que tomou o conhecimento histórico como um instrumento de educação política. Em seguida, mostramos a relação da revista com a política. Antes disso, enaltecemos a organização dos Annales, seus temas, autores etc. Em suas páginas, encontram-se a política que de alguma maneira permaneceu e os grandes nomes (que por sinal são figuras políticas). Com efeito, destacamos um nacionalismo que se expande, sobretudo, em direção ao continente africano. Por fim, o trabalho pretende conhecer melhor um tema pouco explorado da revista, além de perceber mudanças e permanências entre os historiadores supracitados e os AHES.

Abstract:
Bakgrund: Året runt söker sig människor till akutmottagningen på grund av problem med sin hälsa. Vissa besöker akutmottagningen oftare än andra. Av det totala besöksantalet inom akutsjukvården utgör mångbesökare ca 10 %. Ur ett internationellt perspektiv har personal på akutmottagningen en tendens att ifrågasätta mångbesökarnas behov av akutsjukvård. Syfte: Syftet var att beskriva mångbesökarnas upplevelser av att upprepade gånger återkomma till akutmottagningen samt orsakerna till dessa oplanerade återbesök. Metod: vald metod var systematisk litteraturöversikt, där totalt 15 artiklar inkluderades till resultatpresentationen. Denna magisteruppsats har utgått ifrån de grundläggande begreppen i Katie Erikssons vårdteori; hälsa, människa, vård och lidande. Resultat: Nyckelorden och meningarna kategoriserades i följande huvudteman; relationer, tid och resurser. Orsaker till att människor ofta besökte akutmottagningen var relaterade till deras relationer till primärvården. Det fanns även en rädsla för att dö eftersom symtomen blev så pass allvarliga att patienterna inte kunde vänta på en tid på vårdcentralen. För dem som hade en kronisk sjukdom var exacerbationen alltför svår att hantera i hemmet, vilket ledde till att de besökte akutmottagningen. Slutsats: Mångbesökarnas upplevelser av att återkomma till akutmottagningen skiljde sig. Vissa kände sig nöjda med besöket medan andra hade en negativ erfarenhet, präglad av respektlöshet, diskriminering och maktlöshet. Mångbesökare visar sig ofta ha komplex problematik vilken är svår att få in i akutmottagningens patientflöde. Människor med ett komplext vård- och hälsobehov ska inte mötas enbart utifrån ett medicinskt perspektiv utan också som individer med kropp, själ och ande - även i en hektisk akutsjukvårdsmiljö.
Background: Throughout the year people visit the emergency room because of health issues. Some people visit the emergency room more frequent than others. Frequent attenders stand for 10 % of the total visits to the emergency room. Internationally, emergency department staff tend to question these patients’ need of emergency care. Aim: the aim was to describe frequent attenders’ experiences of repeatedly returning to the emergency room and the causes of these unplanned returns. Method: systematic literature review was chosen as method, where a total of 15 articles were included in the results. This study emanated from the elementary concepts of Katie Eriksson’s theory of caritative caring: health, human being, nursing and suffering. Results: the key components were categorised into the following main themes; relationships, time and resources. The reasons for frequently visiting the emergency room were related to the outpatient clinic. There was also a fear of dying because the symptoms became too severe and patients couldn’t wait for an appointment at the outpatient clinic. For those who were diagnosed with a chronic disease the exacerbation was too difficult to manage at home which lead them to the emergency room. Conclusion: the experiences of being a frequent attender differed. Some were satisfied with the visit, whereas some had a negative experience shaped by disrespect, discrimination and powerlessness. Frequent attenders often show a complex of problems which are difficult to fit into the patient flow in the emergency room. Humans with a complex health and wellbeing need should not be met only from a medical perspective but also as individuals with body, mind and spirit - even in a hectic emergency care environment.

This chapter aims to examine new perspectives on the annals of R. K. Narayan, with specific emphasis on Malgudi Days. It primarily attempts to examine how modern television/media has changed dramatically ever since Malgudi Days was first aired on Indian television during the eighties, what the viewers' expectations from television entertainment are today, how television viewers perceive the difference in television broadcasts since the 1980s until the present date. Abstract:
After a brief assessment of how the lost portions of the Annals covering the reign of Caligula might have affected our understanding of the importance of religion within the work, this chapter considers the reign of Claudius as described in Annals 11–12. Claudius is depicted as an antiquarian-minded reformer whose attempts to revive Rome’s cultic traditions are nevertheless destined to fail to improve Rome’s poor relationship with its gods. Claudius revives the augurium salutis and the college of the haruspices, celebrates a lustrum to conclude his censorship, and holds the Secular Games. Yet none of these changes is enough to restore a true spirit of cultic memory to Rome, since Claudius’ reign also sees the abuse of rituals by his wives Messalina and Agrippina the Younger that threaten to anger the gods. It is also during his reign that the gods first send prodigies to convey their anger explicitly, an anger that Claudius’ attempts to revive tradition cannot mitigate.

A set of features are shared by traditional cities where dominated by Islam religion. The notion of “Islamic city”, often criticised for its Eurocentric nature, has guided most studies of these traditional cities. The modernisation process in so-called Islamic cities is crucial due to its serious impacts on the traditional morphology and transformation of their urban structure. We, thus, need more holistic and integrated understanding about changes of these cities derives from the modernisation process. In order to explore the broad and wide-spread changes due to modernisation process in the traditional cities in Muslim world, it is more enlightening if we study second order cities, rather than studying the transformations of major capitals such as Cairo, Istanbul or Teheran, where interventions are goal to approach a more exceptional and rhetorical characters. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to study the historic core of Kermanshah city, to understand the link between urban transformations and social due to modernisation process by tracing it historically. We will focus, particularly, on studying the stages of urban transformation and changes of urban morphology as well as conflict and differences between traditional urban features with the modern ones. For example, we are interested in understanding how traditional morphology and structure of residential and commercial zone are affected by the opening of new and wide boulevards in course of modernisation process, and how these changes influence everyday people life.
