Abstract:
Diploma thesis is focused on modeling rotor downwash generated by the main rotor of helicopter and analyzing its effects on the roof structure. Theoretical definition of rotor downwash flow is described in the first part of the text. Governing equations of computational fluid dynamics are briefly explained as well as boundary layer and finite volume method. Next part inquires into numerical simulation of rotor downwash based on height of rotor above the roof, shape of roof plane and climatic conditions. Results are compared with climatic load values provided by actual Czech construction standa

The transition from inner to outer ballistics is a crucial part for the stability of the projectile. A projectile is mainly stabilized in two ways, with fins or by rotation. This work is limited to analyze a fin stabilized projectile. The launch of the projectile and the deployment of the fins are a quick process, therefore high forces and high temperatures will act the stability of the projectile. Due to these factors, it is hard to quantify experiments to analyze the stability of the projectile. To gain knowledge about how the forces will affect the path of the projectile during the launch a

NOWADAYS, a number of studies keep on demonstrating the existence of a strong relation between high concentrations of particulate matter (PM) and the prevalence of human morbidity and mortality. Large particles can be filtered in the nose or in the throat, while fine particles (about10 micrometer) can settle in the bronchi and lungs, leading to more serious consequences. According to Karagulian et al. the major sources of urban air pollution are traffic (25%), combustion and agriculture (22%), domestic fuel burning (20%), natural dust (18%) and industrial activities (15%).As a consequence, the

Abstract:
Simulation-based analyses of underhood compartments are proving to be crucially important in a vehicle development program, reducing test work and time-to-market. While Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) simulations of steady forced flows have demonstrated reliable, studies of transient natural convective flows in engine compartments under thermal soak are not yet carried out due the high computing demands and lack of validated work. The present work assesses the practical feasibility of applying the CFD tool at the initial stage of a vehicle development programme for investigating the thermal
