Abstract:
Numerical analysis of drag values of an electric race car's body. Silesian Greenpower is a student organization specializing in electric race car design. One of the most important issues during the design is reducing the vehicle drag to minimum and is done, mainly, by designing a streamline car body. The aim of this work was to design two electric cars bodies with different shape in Siemens NX CAD software, next a finite elements mesh was created and implemented into the ANSYS Workbench 16.1 software. Afterwards an aerodynamic analysis was carried out, using the finite element method (FEM). Simulations and calculations have been performed in ANSYS Fluent: CFD Simulation software. Computer simulation allowed to visualize the distribution of air pressure on and around car, the air velocity distribution around the car and aerodynamics streamline trajectory. The results of analysis were used to determine the drag values of electric car and determine points of the highest drag. In conclusion car body representing lower drag was appointed. The work includes theoretical introduction, containing information about finite element method, ANSYS and Siemens NX software and also basic aerodynamics laws.

Abstract:
Compliance with the rules and regulations of competition “Student Formula Car Racing” that conducted annually by the ‘Society of Automotive Engineers’ (SAE) India, the car frame must be designed and built with supreme priority. The major task posed is to design and fabricate a light weighed vehicle chassis frame without compensating the safety. This paper boards various methods of material selection, technical design optimization and Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS. The basic design is based on the anthropological study data of the specified human (95th percentile male) al-lowing fast ‘way-in’ and ‘way-out’ access from the car. According to the rules book specification on material selection, AISI 4130 chromoly steel was the first time identified for the frame design. Resulting in the final design of the vehicle frame, various analyses were done using ANSYS and the successive results are plotted and discussed. The entire design optimization and simulation analysis are based on the 2019 Formula SAE rules book. Keywords: finite element analysis, AISI 4130 chromoly steel, frame construction, Society of Automotive Engineers.

Abstract:
To improve the heat dissipation performance of power batteries in electric racing cars in the Formula Student Electric China (FSEC), a battery cooling system was researched. A battery thermal model and a temperature experimental platform were established. The thermal model was verified by comparing the results of the ANSYS/Workbench simulations with the experimental results, and the maximum error was 7.2%. Based on the FSEC dynamic conditions, the cooling demand was analyzed according to the heat transfer theory. Then, an orthogonal method was used to optimize the position of the cooling fan and the arrangement of the cells, and a parameterized battery simulation model based on ANSYS/Icepak was established. The simulation results show that the maximum temperature difference was optimized by 38.35%. The results of the simulation were in good agreement with the experimental results, and the maximum error was less than 2 °C. This indicates that this design can ensure a car battery system that has a good heat dissipation performance in the FSEC; thus, the intended goal was achieved.

The structural optimization based on FE (Finite Element) software ANSYS is an emerging subject which is combines computational mechanics, mathematical programming, computer science and other engineering subject. Up to now, substantial research breakthroughs have been achieved in optimization theory. This essay is mainly about the theory analysis and internal stress optimization on the modal displayed on the contests of the Fifth National Structure Design Contest for College Student, including selection of basic components, size detail optimization of components. The optimization of structural stress is to find the optimal solutions while keep the variable within certain range. As for this paper, it is to find the optimal solution to mass while the internal stress, component size, load are under constrained. Finally, to ensure the safety of structure and component, analysis was made on the computation results.

Abstract:
Formula Student represents the main motorsport activity for future professionals during their academic preparation. There is intensive migration from the prototypes with an internal combustion engine to electrical vehicles. The challenge of electric vehicles is the weight of the batteries which has to be compensated. The Topological Optimization process represents a method of removing volume and mass of the component (elements of mesh) with the aid of the discretization allowed by the finite element method (FEM) until a mass or stress constraint is attained. The results come in a complex shape, the material being kept only in the stressstrain directions. The manufacturing process is usually as complex, being employed high complexity technologies such as Selective Laser Melting (SLM). Improved strength-to-weight ratio materials are to be considered to obtain the most performant design of a specific component. The present paper presents the topological optimization process of the steering knuckle for the Formula Student electric vehicle of ART-TU Team of Technical University of Cluj-Napoca. It means that the part is simulated and optimized through Ansys Static Structural and there is done post-processing of the component along with Data Validation. The conclusions consist of the viability of the Topological Optimization process when designing complex components for performance automotive.

Abstract:
Cyclone separator is equipment used to control emissions from gas flow in industrial processes. The principle of removing particulates from the gas flow in this tool is to use the centrifugal force. The centrifugal force generated from the rotating flow will make dust particles wasted into the cyclone wall where the dust will then fall into the hopper. Adsorption is a series of processes for the accumulation of a substance (adsorbate) on the surface of another substance (adsorbent). Adsorption can occur because of the energy on the surface and the attraction force on the surface. This study aims to obtain a good CO2 adsorption efficiency from modifying the cyclone separator using an adsorption column, analyzing the CO2 gas adsorption process produced from the biomass system at the utility unit boiler station at the Palm Oil Mill (PMO) using a modified cyclone. This simulation was carried out using the Autodesk Inventor Professional 2017 (Student Version) application for the descripction of the tool as a preprocessor and Ansys 2019 R3 (Student Version) applications as a processor and post processor. The variations that were applied included the adsorption column bed height of 3100 mm and 4650 mm, respectively, CO2 gas flow rates of 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5 dan 25 m/s and mass loading 0,001 kg/s. The results obtained in the most optimal modification of the cyclone separator are at a bed height of 3100 mm with the highest adsorption percentage 93.437%, the highest flow 91.974% with a pressure drop of 1000 Pa.

Abstract:
AIM: This study aimed to evaluate the effect of different implant angulations in posterior maxilla on stress distribution by finite element analysis and verify its results experimentally.METHODS: Two simplified models were prepared for an implant placed vertically and tilted 25° piercing the maxillary sinus. Geometric models' components were prepared by Autodesk Inventor then assembled in ANSYS for finite element analysis. The results of finite element analysis were verified against experimental trials results which were statistically analysed using student t-test (level of significance p < 0.05).RESULTS: Implant - abutment complex absorbed the load energy in case of vertical implant better than the case of angulated one. That was reflected on cortical bone stress, while both cases showed stress levels within the physiological limits. Comparing results between FEA and experiment trials showed full agreement.CONCLUSION: It was found that the tilted implant by 25° can be utilised in the posterior region maxilla for replacing maxillary first molar avoiding sinus penetration. The implant-bone interface and peri-implant bones received the highest Von Mises stress. Implant - bone interface with angulated implant received about 66% more stresses than the straight one.

Abstract:
The traditional classroom teaching of mechanics of materials focuses on the theoretical derivation of the formula, and the content is relatively boring. However, in the experimental class, the calculation formula of bending normal stress is simply verified, and other information other than deformation can not be given directly. In order to improve the effect of classroom teaching, ANSYS finite element analysis and pure bending experiment are combined and applied to the classroom teaching of material mechanics. The deformation and stress in the deformation problem of material mechanics are vividly displayed in the form of animation and cloud chart. Practice has proved that this teaching method can not only deepen students’ understanding of abstract mechanical concepts, but also stimulate students’ interest in learning and innovative thinking, which is conducive to the cultivation of engineering application-oriented talents.

Abstract:
Introduction. The international practice of passive fire protection design, as well as some manufactures of fireproofing products recommend to apply fire proofing substances not only to the main element, whose fire resistance limit is standardized, but also to the elements that do not fall under any fire resistance standards. Various support brackets, pipeline supports (hereinafter — PS), etc. can serve as examples. They are not considered as bearing elements according to SP (Construction Regulations) 2.13130.2020, although they are connected to the structures that have fireproofing applied. It is recommended to apply fireproofing substances to such PS within the range of, at least, 450 mm from the point of attachment to the fireproof structure when the area of the PS cross section exceeds 3,000 mm2. No “supplementary” fireproofing is required by the Russian design and fire protection regulations. The subject of research. A change in the fire resistance limit of steel i-girders, caused by the PS heating, depends on the area of the PS cross section and the location of the point of its attachment. The goal. The goal of the research is to analyze the effect, produced by the area of the cross section and the point of attachment, on the fire resistance limit of fireproof steel i-girders in the course of heating.Materials and methods. ANSYS Workbench 2020 R2 (student version) was applied to perform the numerical simulation.Results. The simulation has shown that the PS, having no fireproofing, influences the fire resistance limit of fireproof structures.Conclusions. Currently available methods of analysis of the fire resistance of steel structures take no account of the fire resistance limit reduction, caused by the heating of the PS that has no fireproofing. The numerical simulation has shown that the fire proofing design must take account of the potential reduction in the fire resistance limit of fireproof structures, exposed to the heated PS that has no fire proofing. The further verification of the effect, produced by the PS, that has no fireproofing, on the time to the limit state of a fireproof steel i-girder requires fire tests and supplementary investigations to evaluate the influence of the PS on the heating of vertical fireproof constructions, including the case of the hydrocarbon fire mode.

Abstract Design of supersonic H1 rocket by the Rocketry Group of Students’ Space Association (SR SKA) requires an analysis of thermal phenomena occurring in the elements particularly exposed to the high temperature gas. This paper contains a description of the methodology and the results of numerical simulation of heat transfer in the elements of the rocket head. The starting points were the flight conditions (3 characteristic points defined by altitude and Mach number) and independently calculated adiabatic temperature field of the gas. ANSYS Fluent code was used to determine the temperature field on the surface of the rocket. Computed cases were viscous and inviscid flow (for comparison). Based on the results formulated for the viscous case heat transfer boundary conditions, the numerical model and the thermophysical properties of materials were defined. The model was limited to a brass top part of the head and a part of a composite dome. Analytical and empirical method of “intermediate enthalpy” determined distribution of the heat transfer coefficient on the rocket surface. Then the transient heat transfer was calculated with the ANSYS system. It included the range from the rocket launch, moment of maximum Mach number to sufficient structure cooling. The results of the analyses were conclusions relevant to the further development work. Excessive heating of composite structures during the flight has been shown.

Exposure to Finite Element Method is beneficial to undergraduate engineering students; and educators have an obligation to introduce students to modern engineering tools. However, teaching of the course is computational intensive and existing propriety software are very expensive. Different approaches to introducing students to the FEM have been proposed. Existing approaches make use of learning modules of commercial Finite Element Analysis (FEA) packages such as ANSYS, ABAQUS, COMSOL Multiphysics, ALGOR, JL AutoFEA Analyzer and PRO/MECHANICA. This paper presents an in-house developed finite-element-based computer model via the virtual work principle using Linear Strain Triangular (LST) elements for deflection analysis on cantilever beam. The validation and capability characteristics was demonstrated by applying it to a cantilever beam, subjected to a point load, using both coarse (4-element) and fine (10-element) meshes. The model gave results very close to those obtained analytically; the 10-element mesh gave better results than the 4-element mesh. The model has made the analysis more flexible, and also made visualization and presentation of results easier for better judgment. It facilitates the presentation of the basic rules which govern FEA and helps in the learning of different aspects of the numerical technique; hence the model will serve as reliable tool in undergraduate engineering programme

Abstract:
The behaviour of fluid flow is a complex paradigm for cognitive interpretation and visualisation. Engineers need to visualise the behaviour mechanics of flow field response in order to enhance the cognitive ability in problem solving. Therefore, mixed reality related technology is the solution for enhanced virtual interactive learning environment. However, there are limited augmented reality platforms on fluid flow interactive learning. Therefore, an interactive education application is proposed for students and engineers to interact and understand the complex flow behaviour pattern subjected to elementary geometry body relative to external flow. This paper presented the technical development of a real-time flow response visualisation augmented reality application for computational fluid dynamics application. It was developed with the assistance of several applications such as Unity, Vuforia, and Android. Particle system modules available in the Unity engine were used to create a two-dimensional flow stream domain. The flow visualisation and interaction were limited to two-dimensional and the numerical fluid continuum response was not analysed. The physical flow response pattern of three simple geometry bodies was validated against ANSYS simulated results based on visual empirical observation. The particle size and number of particles emitted were adjusted in order to emulate the physical representation of fluid flow. Colour contour was set to change according to fluid velocity. Visual validation indicated trivial dissimilarities between FLUENT generated results and flow response exhibited by the proposed augmented reality application.

Abstract:
Air conditioning system is an indispensable part of buildings today. The cost of this system increases with the rise in energy consumption which poses a challenge as well as air distribution in large auditoria. Analysis of results can also be daunting when designing this system. The study focuses on designing an air conditioning system in a large auditorium, applying Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and visualizing the result in a Virtual Reality (VR) environment. The 3-dimensional model of the 520-capacity Technology Lecture Theatre, University of Ibadan, Nigeria was drawn with Autodesk Revit and modified into the geometry applicable for Displacement Ventilation (DV) and Mixed Ventilation (MV) for ease of numerical analysis with ANSYS Fluent. The building model and simulation results were then imported into Unity software for visualization in VR. The DV achieved better thermal comfort and air distribution in the computer simulation. At a supply temperature of 292.15 K, the DV system was able to keep the auditorium temperature at about 296.50 K, while the MV system at a supply temperature of 289.15 K was only able to maintain the temperature at 295.40 K. The temperature profile showed that the lower region where the students were seated was colder in DV compared to MV by at least 3 K. The results were also observed from a convenient position in VR. This study, with the aid of CFD and VR, was able to establish that displacement ventilation design has better air flow, lower energy consumption and is efficient for an air conditioning system in a large auditorium.

However, the relation between academic writing and professional competence has not been empirically investigated. The purpose of this study is to examine how academic writing contributes into school leaders’ competence development, and further what qualities in feedback on texts the participants perceive as important for competence development. In the article we build on a combination of sociocultural and cognitive perspectives within writing research, and in the empirical study, we follow four school leaders through a study program of 18 months. The empirical material is based on texts and revisions of texts written by these four students. In addition, the material consists of data from three focus-group interviews with the same participants, investigating how the school leaders experience the integration of new theoretical and empirical knowledge in their thinking about the school leader role, and the significance of supervision in academic writing. The study shows how the integration of theoretical and research based knowledge develops over time in the school leaders’ texts, and how the school leaders argue for the importance of feedback and supervision in the writing process. Expressed in increased theoretical and empirical substantiation in the students’ text, writing different texts helps the school leaders to relate theory and research to their own reflections on practice and professional role. Still, this integrated relation between theory and practice does not occur by itself. Here, our results point to supervision over time, the amount of feedback, precision, and timing as important prerequisites in order to make feedback from supervisors and fellow students contribute to making literature informative for school leader practices. Keywords: professional competence, leader competence, school leader education, competence development, academic writing

Abstract:
This article explores the intersection of subjectivity construction among Muslim youth with Danish welfare state governmentality. More specifically, it looks at campaigns in which successful professionals and students of non-Western descent, primarily Muslims, are used strategically as role models to target ethnic minorities in general, and Muslims in particular. By communicating their life stories, the role models become real life examples of successful integration meant to inspire others to follow their path. Thus the campaigns are a part of the prevalent discourse that views minorities (i.e. non-Danish and non-Christian) as particularly problematic to integrate and therefore needing special attention for becoming “compatible” with the values of the Danish welfare state. Taking its departure in these campaigns and applying a governmentality-inspired approach, this paper seeks to investigate normative state-prescribed forms of being a “good Danish Muslim.” It analyses how this image is being constructed and negotiated in a matrix combining welfare state policies and individual self-interpretation.

Abstract:
AbstractIn this article, we analyse differences between grades based on national examinations, and final grades based on summative classroom assessment at the end of upper secondary education, using data from two subjects: Norwegian language and advanced mathematics. We compare the two types of grades over time and provide a statistical demonstration of the differences. Through interviews with teachers of Norwegian or mathematics in upper secondary education, we highlight the differences between grading based on summative classroom assessment and being an external examiner. We show how these two assessment methods are weighed against each other in the teachers' own assessment practices, before we finally discuss the extent to which teachers perceive the exam grades as a form of measure for quality assurance of the grade based on summative classroom assessment in the same subject. Keywords: summative classroom assessment, national examination grades, students’ final competence, teachers’ grading practices

Abstract:
The increasingly common use of English nursery rhymes intertextually has impacted upon their transfer into target cultures: entire nursery rhymes, fragments and characters are now found in translational situations. Most of these situations are adaptations of nursery rhymes into other media; and one of the most evident is the use of nursery rhyme characters found in a different context, frequently portrayed visually. Through a reception case study with Spanish students, this report intends to address issues about the relevance of intertextuality in translation, as well as the child’s assumptions in relation to discourse and visual input. Through a qualitative mixed-method study, children worked with nursery rhymes without visual prompts as well as intertextually presented nursery rhyme characters, and offered insight into acquired expectations and anticipations. Through the revision of the results, visual adaptation proves to contribute to children’s acculturation and assumptions, reducing the openness to foreignization. The Formula Student competitions are held everyyear. This paper is the result of the analysis done on the sample car design that can be presented in the Formula Student competition. The purpose of the paper is to provide a final summary on chassis analysis and structural performance. It also talks about all the important analysis that is to be done on a Formula Student car to make it safe and perform well on the track. The design has been made such that it focusses on maximum adjustability, reliability, performance, safety, weight reduction and ease of manufacturing. The analysis was done to make sure the objectives of design are fulfilled. After going through many papers, documents, blogs and videos we found that many people get confused about the loading conditions and boundary conditions for different types of tests so this paper prioritizes to make people understand about those conditions as well as about the major tests required to perform complete analysis of Formula Student cars. The weight of the chassis was calculated as 36 kg approximately according to the data obtained from design modeler of Ansys workbench as well as Solidworks. The design sustained all the loading conditions and passed all the tests. Thus, one of the objective of this paper is to help other universities and passionate students to successfully design and analyze their cars that can pass all necessary tests included in the paper. Abstract:
Formula SAE is a student design competition organized by SAE International (previously known as the Society of Automotive Engineers, SAE). The concept behind Formula SAE is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a student design team to develop a small Formulastyle race car. The prototype race car is to be evaluated for its potential as a production item. Each student team designs, builds and tests a prototype based on a series of rules, whose purpose is both ensuring on-track safety and promoting clever problem solving. An anti-roll bar is a part of automobile suspensions that helps reduce the body roll of a vehicle during fast cornering or over road irregularities. It connects opposite wheels together through short lever arms linked by a torsion spring. A sway bar increases the suspension's roll stiffness—its resistance to roll in turns, independent of its spring rate in the vertical direction. In this research paper, calculation for the anti-roll bar mechanism will be simpler, and more accurate than hand calculations. Calculation was done using MATLAB and further analysis using FEA in ANSYS.

Abstract:
AbstractThis study explains a coherent flow for designing, manufacturing, analyzing, and testing a tunable anti-roll bar system for a formula student racecar. The design process starts with the analytical calculation for roll stiffness using constraining parameters such as CG (Center of Gravity) height, total mass, and weight distribution in conjunction with suspension geometry. Then, the material selection for the design i.e. Aluminum 7075 T6 is made based on parameters such as density and modulus of rigidity. A MATLAB program is used to iterate deflection vs load for different stiffness and shaft diameter values. This is then checked with kinematic deflection values in Solidworks geometry. To validate with the material deflection, finite element analysis is performed on ANSYS workbench. Manufacturing accuracy for the job is checked using both static analysis in lab settings and using sensors on vehicles during on-track testing. The error percentage is found to be 4% between the target stiffness and the one obtained from static testing. Parameters such as moment arm length, shaft diameter and length, and deflection were determined and validated. This paper shows the importance of an anti-roll bar device to tune the roll stiffness of the car without interfering with the ride stiffness.

Abstract:
Medium haul commercial aircrafts are used by airliners for medium range flights which includes domestic and international routes, below 4000 km but not less than 1500 km. These are widely used type of aircrafts for airliners. It is a very challenging process to design such an aircraft and there are a lot of processes and parameters which need to be assessed before finalizing a design. The aircraft is designed to seat a hundred passengers and one of the main requirements of such medium haul aircrafts is that they are designed to carry the heavy loads for longer durations and yet provide a smooth flying experience. The design aspects include the selection of airfoil and engines. The airfoil selected has high lift capabilities and has a gentle stall quality providing for a perfect fit for this category of aircraft and the fuselage has been analysed in order to withstand the various aerodynamic forces that the aircraft might endure during flight. The design of the Wing was performed on CATIA V5,the design of the fuselage was performed on SOLIDWORKS Inc. and the analysis of the wing and fuselage were performed on ANSYS R19.2(Student Version). The design is said to provide better lift capabilities with the help of the airfoil chosen which could provide for a better performance on modern day aircrafts.

Abstract:
Abstract In dynamically switched systems with unknown switching signal, the control system is conventionally designed based on the worst switching scenario to ensure system stability. Such conservative design demands excessive control effort in less critical switching configurations. In the case of continuum mechanics systems, such excessive control inputs result in increased structural deformations and resultant modeling uncertainties. These deformations alter differential equations of motion which cripple the task of control. In this paper, a new approach for tracking control of uncertain continuum mechanics multivariable systems undergoing switching dynamics and unknown time delay has been proposed. Control algorithm is constructed based on the mathematical rigid model of the plant and a Common Lyapunov Function (CLF) is proposed upon sliding hyperplane regarding all switching configurations. Considering the model-based nature of sliding mode control (SMC) and inevitable uncertainties induced from modeling simplifications of continuum system or parameter evaluation errors, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) is utilized to approximate total model uncertainties. To obtain robust stability, instead of conventional switching functions in the construction of control law, the control inputs are selected such that system dynamics reside within stability bounds which are calculated based on the Lyapunov asymptotic stability criterion. Therefore, the unwanted chattering issue caused by continuous switching is not observed in control input signals. Eventually, the accuracy of the proposed method has been verified through the student version of ANSYS® mechanical APDL-based simulations and its effectiveness has been demonstrated in multiple operating conditions.

The purpose of impact analysis is to study the behaviour of the chassis during impact on the go-kart chassis. The National Go Kart Racing is the one of the ways which provide the platform for doing innovations and showing creativity of students. The motor vehicle chassis is completely different from standard automobile chassis. The basic requirements of the chassis will be less weight and more strength. The material that we opted for this chassis is AISI 4130 which is a medium carbon steel having good tensile strength and better machinability and offers good balance to toughness and ductility. Such that by performing impact analysis at different impact speeds we are going to analyses the chassis behaviour for the given conditions. The chassis frame is backbone of vehicle it should be able to with stand different types of loads that are developed during vehicle at rest and in motion. The given chassis is tested under different impact conditions and the results such as deformations, stresses are determined using ANSYS 19.0 software.

Abstract:
Abstract:
Electromagnetism forms a mandatory topic in the syllabus of undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical engineering. This topic involves many physical and mathematical concepts like curl, divergence, gradient for field determination and representation. These concepts are not only difficult to understand but also often lead to poor learning because of the imaginations and non-visualization of electric and magnetic fields. A correct understanding of fields and its distribution is necessary to understand the working, design and optimization of electrical machines. This paper presents a finite element method (FEM) based educational tool that allows the technical students to visualize electromagnetic (EM) fields inside the EM systems. This tool therefore provides a better understanding of the design and optimization of various electrical devices. This paper shows an example of a 2-pole linear machine to visualize the distribution of the magnetic field in a non-linear circuit. This machine extends to form a linear switched reluctance motor (LSRM) using step-by-step design and optimization procedure along with the user guide interface programmed in FEM based ANSYS Maxwell software. This motor is used as an example to visualize magnetic fields using FEM software in complex circuits and can be used as a good educational tool for students. The paper incorporates the validation of the design procedure through FEM simulations.

Abstract:
Abstract Background Schizophrenia is an increasing public health problem. Despite its low prevalence and mortality, it causes significant disability and has enormous health, social, and economic burden for patients, families, society and health systems worldwide. The aim was to assess the impact of some sociodemographic determinants on disability in patients with paranoid schizophrenia (PS). Methods The study includes 108 patients in Psychiatric Clinic at Pleven University Hospital: 66 males and 42 females, mean age 38.9±10.0, duration of disease 12.8±8.2 years; mean onset of disease - 24 years (Me = 25 and Mo = 22). The study was approved by Ethical Committee. The disease burden was assessed by Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (Ð ANSS), and level of disability - by 36-item WHO Disability Assessment Schedule 2.0. Four variables (gender, age, education, type of employment) were chosen and their impact on disability was assessed by one-way ANOVA (F-test), Tukey's NDS test, two-sided t-test, Pierson r. Data processing was performed by IBM SPSS v.24. Results The most severe deficits were observed in “getting along with people” (61.34±25.77),”life-activities-household” (55.74±23.45), “participation in society” (53.13±19.12), “understanding and communicating” (41.67±17.67). Age at disease onset and its duration showed weak positive correlation. In most domains, males had higher deficits (р=0.0001). Age had an impact only on “getting around” (r = 0.41;p=0.0001) and “self-care” (r = 0.260;p=0.007). Significant differences (F (2,104)=7.565, p < 0.01) were found between groups by education level and occupation (employed/students, unemployed and disabled) - F (3,103)=16.734; p<0.001. Conclusions Sociodemographic factors play a major role for different function domains deficits in PS patients. Most pronounced is the impact of education and occupation. Patients with higher education and those engaged in study or work demonstrate better social functioning than less educated and disabled people. Key messages Education is an important protective factor for disability. Lower educational level decreases competitiveness in workforce market, both in general population and in patients with schizophrenia. Sociodemographic determinants should be considered in planning appropriate preventive and rehabilitation activities to stimulate better social functioning and adaptation of PS patients.
