Abstract:
Straipsnyje nagrinėjama Kanados lietuvių bendruomenės pastangomis leidžiama spauda ir jos reikšmė saugant gimtąją kalbą ir puoselėjant tautinę tapatybę. Nuo 1945 iki 2000 metų Kanadoje išspausdinta per 500 knygų, iš kurių tik apie 50 – anglų kalba. Ypač svarbų vaidmenį atliko lietuviški savaitraščiai „Nepriklausoma Lietuva“ (Monrealis, 1941–2001) ir „Tėviškės žiburiai“ (tebeleidžiamas nuo 1949 m.). Šis savaitraštis, ištikimas demokratijos idėjoms, yra populiarus ir išeivijoje, ir Lietuvoje. Knygų leidyboje išskirtinos dvi lietuvių bendruomenei ypač svarbios kryptys – lituanistinis švietimas ir tautodailė. Lituanistiniam švietimui labiausiai nusipelnė pedagogas Antanas Rinkūnas (1909–1985), parengęs svarbiausius vadovėlius lietuviškoms mokykloms. Ryškiausi tautodailės propaguotojai ir tos tematikos knygų leidėjai buvo Anastazija (1910–1991) ir Antanas (1906–2005) Tamošaičiai. Kanados lietuvių spauda ir bendruomeninės veiklos rankraštiniai dokumentai saugomi 1996 m. Toronte įkurtame Kanados lietuvių muziejuje-archyve.

Abstract:
Antanas Smetona (1874–1944) was one of the most active promoters of the innate self in the early 20th century. His attention to the national heritage and the native language was directly related to the growth of the movement of national liberation at the turn of the 20th century, as well as the struggle for the democratic school and the rights of the native language. According to the author, the Lithuanian revival was more than just the retention of the parent language. Rebirth meant the rise from contempt, recognition by other nations, spiritual renewal, and promotion of traditional values.
 More than once A. Smetona wrote in the press about a difficult state of the Lithuanian language and the disrespect of Lithuanians for the native language. He blamed intellectuals (teachers, journalists, or authors of textbooks) for their indifference to language pollution and advised everybody to learn Lithuanian from dialects, fiction, and quality press. A. Smetona encouraged intellectuals to improve the native language and raised the idea of the reinstatement of the language section in the Viltis newspaper; he believed enthusiasts able to moderate it would appear. He repeatedly emphasised the issues of language standardisation and purification, as well as the related problems, formulated the functions of the Lithuanian Language Commission set up in 1911, and recommended theoreticians and practitioners to join efforts in the solution of the language standardisation issues.
 As the author cherished the idea of a free nation, he stressed that the system of education has to be of a national character, all the Lithuanians have to at least learn to read and to write Lithuanian: the tsarist government-established primary schools did not provide the skills, therefore, the author encouraged learning from the experience of secret schools. Under the then conditions, family or home schools were the only way out. However, it was necessary to write textbooks, primers, reading and writing books suitable for family schools, and to provide quality Lithuanian penmanship examples.
 A. Smetona responded to the state of the Lithuanian language in Lithuanian secondary schools and taught in Vilnius gymnasiums after his working hours in the bank. A. Smetona believed that Lithuanian intellectuals had to demand more from the authorities, to be more active, and proposed to set up a committee to deal with the issues of the Lithuanian language.

Abstract:
A Maceina – vienas ryškiausių filosofinės transcendentinės krypties pedagogų Lietuvoje. Straipsnyje aptariamas Maceinos požiūris į ugdymą. “Židinyje” paskelbtame straipsnyje ,.Kur krypsta dabartinis ugdymas?” (1934) Maceina analizavo naujas ugdymo tendencijas ir kryptis, apžvelgė tris tuo metu išryškėjusias pedagogines sroves: transcendentinę, psichologinę ir vitalinę. Pastarąją jis plačiausiai gvildeno, pristatydamas kaip tuo metu naujausią. dar neturinčią ryškaus pavidalo, bet keliančią daug nerimo. Vitalizmas daugiau remiasi natūralizmu (medžiaga, ekonomika). Abi šios kryptys nepripažįsta nei dvasios, nei Dievo, tad Maceinai tai pati problemiškiausia srovė. Todėl 1935 m. Maceina dar giliau paanalizavo vitalinę pedagogikos kryptį, plačiau apsistojo prie fizinio lavinimo, kuris, anot Maceinos, dvasiškai nusmuko žemiau, palyginti ne tik su antikine Graikija, bet ir su šviečiamuoju amžiumi. Maceinos iškelta samprata apie pilnutinės asmenybės ugdymo tikslą apima fizinę, psichinę ir dvasinę sąvokas – auklėjimą, lavinimą, auginimą. Jis nurodo, kad auginimas keičia tik periferiją (fizinę pusę), lavinimas - žmogaus galias (daugiau psichinė pusė), o auklėjimas – gelmes (dvasinė pusė)

Šiame darbe, pasitelkus hermeutinę įžvalgą ir atidųjį skaitymą, stengiamasi atskleisti A. Miškinio poziciją aptariant jo kolaboravimą ar pasipriešinimą sovietinės okupacijos metais. Analizuojant poeto kūrybą istoriniame – kultūriniame kontekste, prieita prie išvados, kad A. Miškinio kūriniai, atspindintys istoriją ir atskleidžiantys autoriaus vidinius išgyvenimus, derinant istorinį objektyvumą ir individualias patirtis, yra verti dėmesio ir reikalauja istorinio suvokimo, vertinant autoriaus poziciją.<br>The basic aim of this work is to identify a position of A. Miškinis regarding his collaboration or resistance in the time of Soviet occupation. It is done with the help of hermeneutic insight and attentive reading. Analysis of poet‘s works in istorical – cultural context enables to draw a conclusion that these works of A. Miškinis which reflect history and reveal intimate emotions, tie in a historical objectivity and personal experiences are worth attention and demand historical perception in evaluation of author‘s position.

Denna kvalitativa fallstudie utgår från det teoretiska ramverket om teorin och metoden 'de förtrycktas teater'. Augusto Boal formade 'de förtrycktas teater' utifrån tanken om att teatern skulle vara ett vapen för folket i förändring av samhällets strukturer och normer. Teorin och metoden appliceras på fallet; Antanas Mockus teatrala aktioner för förändring i Bogotá. Frågeställningen gäller Hur teater kan fungera som metod för att skapa samhällsförändring? och På vilket sätt Antanas Mockus har använt 'de förtrycktas teater' i sitt arbete för samhällsförändring i Bogotá? Resultatet når en diskussion om att deltagande är vitalt i skapandet av samhällsförändring och det specifikt genom teater som metod. Men också att vara aktiv inte är det mest centrala för att ett samhälle ska kunna förändras. Utöver betydelsen av deltagandets vikt för teater som metod för samhällsförändring men berör även begrepp som politik, konst, pedagogik och lek.

Literatūros filosofijos perspektyvoje ir fenomenologijos metodologiniu pagrindu bakalauro darbe tiriama egzistencializmo dimensija A. Ramono kūryboje. Šio darbo objektas – lietuvių prozininko rinktinė „Vasario upės“ (2007). Tiriamojo darbo problema formuluojama keliant A. Ramono prozoje svarbiausius žmogaus ir jo būties klausimus. Teorinėje darbo dalyje nagrinėjama literatūros ir filosofijos sąveikos problema, būties ir kalbos klausimai literatūros filosofijos akiratyje (V. Daujotytės atrama). Remiantis M. Heideggerio, V. Sezemano, A. Maceinos, A. Šliogerio ir kitų autorių mintimi, iš egzistencializmo tradicijos teorinėje dalyje nagrinėjami žmogaus esmės ir jo tapsmo, būties transcendencijos, būties-pasaulyje, būties-myriop ir kiti klausimai. Iš fenomenologijos teorijos bakalauro darbo tyrimui ypač aktuali patirties, juslinio pasaulio suvokimo, santykio su pasauliu ir sąmonės koncepcijos. Tiriamojoje dalyje nagrinėjama, kaip skleidžiasi egzistencinės filosofijos problematika A. Ramono tekstuose. Knygos „Vasario upės“ analizė leido suprasti, kad joje vaizduojamą žmogų su egzistencializmo filosofijos dimensija suartina būtis-myriop, erdvės, laiko ir daiktų patirtys, ribiniai kančios, ligos, rašymo išgyvenimai, o visa tai išreiškiama filosofiniam mąstymui artimu pasakojimu, dviprasmiškomis metaforomis ir simboliais. Žmogaus egzistencija būties-pasaulyje lauke vyksta nuolat persikeliant į kitas būties siūlomas egzistencijos struktūros atmainas: nuolat vyksta ciklinis gyvybės... [toliau žr. visą tekstą]<br>In the perspective of the philosophy of literature and on the methodological basis of phenomenology, the Bachelor’s work analyses dimension of existentialism in the works of Antanas Ramonas. The object of this work is the selection of the Lithuanian prosewriter’s works “Vasario upės” (February Rivers) (2007). The problem of the study is formulated raising the most important questions of man and his existence in the prose of A. Ramonas. In the theoretical part of the work the problem of interaction between literature and philosophy, questions of existence and speech in the outlook of the philosophy of literature are analysed (reference to V. Daujotytė). Referring to the ideas of M. Heidegger, V. Sezeman, A. Maceina, A. Šliogeris and other authors, from the tradition of existentialism in the theoretical part there are analysed the essence of man and his formation, transcendence of Being, being-in-the-world, life-to death and other questions. From the theory of phenomenology, for this study especially important is perception of experience, sensitivity of the world, relantionship with the world and the conception of consciousness. In the research there is analysed how the problem of existential philosophy unfolds in A. Ramonas’ texts. Abstract:
Bakalauro darbo tyrimo objektas – Antano Vienuolio smulkioji proza. Analizuojami tokie kūriniai: „Grįžo“ (1908), „Išdukterė“ (1945), „Astronomas Šmukštaras“ (1950), „Samdinė Alena“ (1953), „Vėžys“. Paskutiniajame skyriuje remiamasi ir kitų kūrinių ištraukomis: „Vėlinių vakarą“ (1937), „Užkeiktieji vienuoliai“ (1943 – 1947), „Kruvinoji keršto uola“ (1906). Šio darbo tiriamoji problema ir akstinas tyrimui yra tai, kad daugiausiai Antano Vienuolio kūryba daugiausiai nagrinėta sovietiniu laikotarpiu. Verta pastebėti, kad sovietinė kritika iškelia svarbių tyrimo aspektų, rimtų įžvalgų ir nagrinėjimo vertų klausimų. Tačiau didelė dalis sovietinės kritikos yra jau pasenusi, nebeatitinka šių dienų aktualijų. Kita priežastis – tai trijų dešimtmečių pakeistas požiūris į aptariamojo autoriaus kūrybą. Antano Vienuolio kūryboje pastebimi nauji rakursai, naujos problemos. Todėl yra poreikis nagrinėti autoriaus kūrybą nauju žvilgsniu, gilinantis į patį tekstą, būnant nevaržomam sovietinių kanonų. Analizuojant ir interpretuojant kūrinius pasitelkiamas aprašomasis metodas. Tyrimo tikslas – ištirti jauno ir seno žmogaus vaizdavimą Antano Vienuolio smulkiojoje prozoje. Uždaviniai: išsiaiškinti, kaip vaizduojama jaunystės ir senatvės priešybė nagrinėtoje autoriaus kūryboje, išskirti jauno ir seno žmogaus vaizdavimo panašumus ir skirtumus ir nusakyti pasakotojo funkcijas bei pasakojimo skirtumus, pagal pasakotojo amžių. The problem of analysis is that the most Antanas Vienuolis prose were studying on soviet period. Soviet critics noticed important aspects, major insight and worthy of research questions. But most of soviet criticism are allready aged and are not topical. The other reason – there is a new position to authors prose changed by three decades. There are noted new angles, new problematic in Antanas Vienuolis works. It is important to analyse authors prose by new look, to go to the text, being independent from soviet canons. There are used tyrimo methods like analysis, interpretation and descriptive. The aim of bachelor thesis – to explore young and the old man representation in Antanas Vienuolis small prose. Tasks: explore how youth and old age portrayed opposite in author‘s works. Distinguish young and old man differences and similarities, describe the functions of the narrator under his age. The focus on Antanas Vienuolis texts were found in the new study materials: observed the changing role of the author, works of poetry and the semantic relationship, new interpretations of characters pictures. Abstract:
The subject of this dissertation is the representation of temporality, trauma and sexuality in Antanas Škėma’s fiction. The chapter “Temporal structures” examines temporal order in the writer’s novella “Isaac” according to Genettes narratology. The analysis reveals deliberately inserted mechanisms in the construction of the text, which disrupt the narrative investigation. A survey of temporal structures exposes invented events in the text and the definitions of “factual reality” and “imaginary reality” are introduced. The narrative analysis results in a hypothesis that Škėma’s text has been constructed as an imitation of human memory and as a representation of the factual reality outside the text. The chapters “Representation of trauma” and “Representation of sexual perversion” use Freud’s trauma theory and sexual theory as a method. Trauma appears to constitute the construction of the narrator and his urge to distort temporal links between the narrative and the story. When the narrator in Škėma’s “Isaac” focuses on the depiction of sexually perverted consciousness, the text affects the reader by forcing him to break off his horizons of expectation. The depiction of rape in Škėma’s fiction links the themes of sexuality and power and of sexuality and trauma. The writer detaches the representation of sexuality from the definition of love: sexuality, portrayed in the analyzed texts, appears to create its own norms. This is one of many ways to transform the depiction of sexual perversion into a social norm in Škėma’s narrative. The chapter “Škėma’s Autobiography and literary critics” provides a re-reading of the writer’s autobiography and his journalistic texts. The chapter ”Publication and reception of Škėma’s fiction” provides a compiled reading of earlier research and a survey of the writer’s books published in exile.

Abstract:
Šiame darbe analizuojamas gamtos patyrimas Antano Kalanavičiaus poezijoje. Aptariama Kalanavičiaus vieta XX a. lietuvių literatūros kontekste. Kalanavičiaus poezija yra archajiška, primena raudos, sakmės poetiką. Kalba kūryboje išryškėja kaip kūno analogas. Kalanavičiaus poetinei metaforai būdingas kelių skirtingų patirčių sujungimas, ryški tapybos, kalvystės ir kalbos sintezė. Formuluojamos fenomenologinės įžvalgos, aptariama sąvokos percepcija sklaida, lemianti darbo specifiką. Subjekto asmeninės patirties sampratai analizuojamas poetinių tekstų prigimtinės erdvės modelis. Aprašomas Kalanavičiaus poringių ir progiesmių gamtiškumas. Analizuojamos metaforos, kylančios iš kalvystės patirties. Aprašomos buvimo Kitame metaforos ir žvilgsnio gamtiškumo fenomenas. Temos aktualumo klausimą įrodo gausa publikacijų, kuriose gamtos ir žmogaus sąmonės santykis vis dar yra aktualus filosofiniuose disputuose; Kalanavičiaus poezijoje kuriamas unikalus kalbėjimo būdas, be to, kūryba yra dar beveik netyrinėta.<br>In this study it was analyzed the perception of the nature in A. Kalanavičius poetry. First of all it was introduced A. Kalanavičius’ importance in Lithuanian literature context of XX century. Kalanavičius’ poetry is archaic, reminds the poetic of lament or folk-story. His poetry expresses the method of existence.For Kalanavičius’ poetry it is typical to join different experiences.The poetic technique is based on word’s drawing, whittling, chiseling, flexing, smelting and etc.There were formulated the phenomenological acumens, it was discussed the dispersion of the term of perception, which settled the specific of this study. It is important to know that the natural space helps to understand the lyric subject’s experiences and the poetic speeches, which come from those experiences. It was described the perception of the nature of poringės and progiesmės in A. Kalavavičius poetry. This study discussed the metaphors, which described the speaker’s perception of the smithery. Also it was described the phenomenon of metaphor of Being Other and the sight of the nature. In many publications one may find various philosophical disputes about the sense relations of the human being and the nature. It shows that this item-problem is very important in world literature context. Moreover, in Kalanavičius’ poetry is created the unique speaking method, which point to his oneness. Besides, his poetry haven’t been studied so deeply yet.

Abstract:
Bakalauro darbe, metodologiškai remiantis literatūros ir muzikos sąveikos istorija ir teorija, siekiama išanalizuoti dviejų šiuolaikinės lietuvių poezijos autorių – A. A. Jonyno ir G. Grajausko – tekstams būdingą muzikalumą. Šio darbo objektas – A. A. Jonyno eilėraščių rinktinė „Krioklys po ledu“ (1997) ir G. Grajausko poezijos rinkinys „Kaulinė dūdelė“ (1999). Tiriamoji darbo problema – kaip muzikalumas reiškiasi A. A. Jonyno ir G. Grajausko poezijos semantikoje ir poetikoje, kuo ypatinga muzikalumo raiška, ar šių autorių poezijoje galima aptikti teorijoje išskirtų, įvairius aspektus apimančių, muzikos ir poezijos jungčių. Teorinėje darbo dalyje nagrinėjama literatūros ir muzikos istorija bei teorija, muzikos ir poezijos jungčių prasminė bei funkcinė įvairovė, literatūros ir muzikos sąveikos dominantės. Darbe remtasi literatūros ir muzikos santykio metodu, naudotasi V. Daujotytės, V. Kubiliaus, R. Brūzgienės, V. Bobrovskio ir kitų autorių mokslinių tyrimų įžvalgomis. Teorijoje išskiriami šie sąveikos aspektai: garsinis žodžio pavidalas, daiktinė žodžio reikšmė, žodinis junglumo aspektas, intonacinis žodžio aspektas, vertybinis žodžio intencionalumas, kompozicinis aspektas, fonetikos ir sintaksės aspektai. Tiriamojoje dalyje nagrinėjama, kaip ir koks muzikalumas formuoja A. A. Jonyno eilėraščių poetiką ir semantiką, poeto kūrybos muzikalumas nagrinėjamas fonetinės, leksinės bei sintaksinės, ritminės intonacinės, kompozicinės ir žanrinės raiškos požiūriu. Ypač didelis... [toliau žr. visą tekstą]<br>In the Bachelor’s Thesis one tries to analyze the musicality typical for texts of two modern Lithuanian poetry authors – A. Jonynas and G. Grajauskas – methodologically basing upon theory and history of music and literature interaction. The object of this Thesis is the selection of A. Jonynas’ poems “Krioklys po ledu” (“Waterfall under Ice”) (1997) and G. Grajauskas’s collection of poetry “Kaulinė dūdelė” (“Bone Pipe”) (1999). Scientific problem of the work is the way the musicality is expressed in semantics and poetics of A. Jonynas and G. Grajauskas; the peculiarity of musicality expression; weather the connections of music and poetry distinguished theoretically and covering various aspects can be found in the poetry of these authors. History and theory of music and literature, notional and functional variety of music and poetry connection, dominant of literature and music interaction are studied in the theoretical part of the Thesis. While working on the Thesis one based upon the method of literature and music connection, insights of scientific researches of V. Daujotytė, V. Kubilius, R. Brūzgienė, V. Bobrovsky and other authors. The following aspect of interaction are distinguished in the theory: sound form of the word, material meaning of the word, verbal aspect of valency, intonation aspect of the word, value intentionality of the word, compositional aspect, aspect of phonetics and syntax. Abstract:
In 2011, Levine &amp; Molina contributed to the research within the field of the quality of democracy by creating a framework focusing on the quality of the political process. The purpose of this study is to further contribute to the theoretical discussion of the quality of democracy by empirically applying Levine &amp; Molina’s model of quality of democracy on a case: Bogota, the capital of Colombia. The data was collected through a field study in Bogota through semi-structured interviews with elites. The first research question aims at deciding what quality the democracy in Bogota has, if analyzing it through Levine &amp; Molina’s five main dimensions. The second question asks if their model captures the central dimensions needed for concluding the quality of democracy if contrasting their dimensions to other societal factors lifted as important in Bogota by the informants.   The conclusions show that Bogota appears to have a rather low quality of democracy. Its strongest dimension is electoral decision, while the weakest one is participation. When comparing Levine &amp; Molina’s dimensions to the surrounding society in Bogota, their framework can mainly be concluded to be including the main aspects for being able to evaluate the quality of democracy in a given place. However, it appears obvious that a strong and active emphasis on surrounding circumstances is central for drawing any conclusions of the quality of the political process.
