Abstract:
Dandruff is a common scalp disorder caused by Malassezia yeast, excessive sebum production, and scalp inflammation. Conventional anti-dandruff shampoos contain synthetic agents like zinc pyrithione, ketoconazole, and selenium sulfide, which may cause side effects. Herbal formulations offer a safer alternative with antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and hairnourishing properties. This study aims to formulate and evaluate an herbal anti-dandruff shampoo using natural ingredients. The formulation was tested for pH, foaming ability, detergency, anti-fungal activity, and efficacy in reducing dandruff.
