Various literature sources have documented sydnones as important molecules with exclusive chemical properties and a wide spectrum of bioactivities. Sydnone can be defined as a five-membered pseudo-aromatic heterocyclic molecule. Classically, 1,2,3-oxadiazole forms the main skeleton of sydnone. The molecule has delocalized balanced positive and negative charges. The five annular atoms share the positive charge and the enolate-like exocyclic oxygen atom bears the negative charge. The hydrogen atom at the position C4 was proved to have acidic and nucleophilic functionalities making the sydnone ri

Sydnones have been a novel class of mesoionic compound due to versatility of their applications in various fields. Sydnone derivative have seen as an interesting structure grouped in the heterocyclic community, which is having regions of both positive and negative charges linked with a poly-heteroatomic system. This structural characteristic allows them to cross biological membranes and interact with biomolecules. Abstract Background Various literature sources have documented a wide spectrum of therapeutic properties of sydnones including anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antimicrobial activities. Phenyl styryl ketones and their derivatives as members of the chalcone family have also been reported as significant bioactive molecules. The current study was initiated to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of sydnone-based compounds including some novel bis-sydnone styryl ketone hybrids. Results Twenty-five sydnone-containing compounds were successfully synthesized. Compounds 46-48 and 56-58 were reported

The family of natural plant metabolites known as coumarin derivatives holds significant importance due to their diverse range of biological actions. Synthetic coumarin derivatives have demonstrated considerable potential in the realms of anticancer, antitumor, and anti-proliferative actions. The objective of this investigation was to produce a new series of sydnone derivatives containing coumarine, namely 3-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-(chlorosulfonyl) sydnone, through the synthesis of 7-amino-4-methyl-3-substituted phenyl-2H-chromen-2-one 2a-j.
