Abstract:

This essay is about capital punishment and mutilation in Ancient Egypt’s pharaonic era. The earlier research has mostly focused on the New Kingdom and later periods, in large part because the textual sources are much clearer from then on. There are however some earlier texts that seem to mention death penalty or mutilation, but correct analysis of these is debatable. Some scholars argue that death penalty certainly was used before New Kingdom, while others claim that this is not the case. Denna studie ämnar undersöka om det finns någon skillnad i hur snabbt en text läses av en datorvan student på en datorskärm beroende på om texten är satt med en antikva eller en sanserif. Med hjälp av ett bekvämlighetsurval, bestående av 28 datorvana studenter från Linköpings Universitet Campus Norrköping, utfördes ett laboratorieexperiment där läshastigheten mättes. The study discusses the role of a wet nurse regarding the protection of a child in ancient Egypt. There is evidence of the phenomenon of the wet nurse dating from the Old Kingdom’s Pyramid texts, depictions in tombs from the New kingdom, to contracts between the wet nurse and her employer from the Late Period. Abstract:

This paper explores the possibility of using an off the shelf video game, Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, in teaching a history class about ancient Greece. The study used a method where 7th grade students during one lesson got to experience the videogame together with two surveys about the students’ experiences learning with the video game. The study’s theories focus on previous research and educators’ ideas about using virtual museums and students’ active participation.
